Ten Cafe is quickly becoming an established dining destination for lovers of quality bubble tea. Many customers have confirmed that it is as close as you can get to the homemade boba tea recipes from Taiwan. Customers love the selection that Ten Cafe offers; from classic flavors such as jasmine and taro, to intricate concoctions like their refreshingly fruity carmel apple tea or the sweet and creamy almond tea. What really sets Ten Cafe apart from all other bubble tea experiences is their unique atmosphere. Their interior is a blend of trendy and cozy, with modern decor and artistic posters.

The bubble tea was a really good price, but the milk tea mango flavor did not taste really mango like. It tastes more like artificial mango candy flavor. And it was a little watered down before the ice melted. But the was good and the tea came out very fast and it’s a decent serving. Free open parking lot and close to Bibibop so eat there and come here for a snack after like ice cream (rolled) and bubble tea and other Asian appetizers fun food. Plenty of seating and the claw games.

My siblings and I have been going here for years, it’s always been such a great spot for both boba and the chill vibes, it’s only gotten even better with the little figurine machines now! I love this place!

Lou Lou

Google
Stopped by here because my friends had Boba so I had to get some too! They have a good menu and it’s all customizable, the mango with popping mango was tasty and creamy! They have gatcha machines there with so many cute little figurines. They have some small plates too!

Google
Cute cafe with quick service and a good selection of options. I got a coconut milk tea light ice and it was honestly a bit watery and needed more flavor, but the boba in it was delicious. My friend got the rolled mango ice cream and that was amazing! Definitely recommend trying that!

Angelica Villacis

Google
Ordered a taro milk tea with boba and jelly, mango green tea with boba and jelly, and veggie gyozas. Superb! Will definitely be returning 😊

V P

Google
Delicious ice cream flavors, presented well and with awesome toppings. The rolling process was fun to watch for kids. Set up is fun. The store has boba and food options as well.

Google
The cafe is cute and clean. The rolled ice cream came with cookies and marshmallow, worth trying. Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken is good too.

Ten Cafe is located off of Western Avenue and Roscoe (Roscoe Village) in the strip plaza; watch out for google maps giving iffy directions to this destination. Ten Cafe is super cute and aesthetically put together with their friendly staff who know their stuff. Customers that I experienced in my short visit are a mixed bag, however; laid back and casual but there were also some suburban Karen vibes present but that’s neither here nor there. 🫠 Our order for a party of three consisted of seaweed salad, Taiwanese popcorn chicken, chocolate rolled ice cream with boba topping and two types of boba; taro milk cloud w coconut milk and passion fruit popping boba and Brown Sugar Boba Tea with Tapioca boba. I would love to see a kids menu option here (it would help immensely by helping to avoid decision fatigue ) as well as caffeine free boba drink options for those who don’t love tea but enjoy boba.

Yelp
The place is located in a strip mall that has a ton of businesses. It is located in the last wing of the mall between the Chipotle and the Bibibop. You can easily miss it if you're not looking close enough. When you do find it, you will be pleasantly surprised. When you walk in, you are greeted by their menu and the offering area. They specialize in bubble tea and rolled ice cream. They have a variety of teas, both herbal and fruity teas as well as ice blends. I opted to go with a matcha ice blend with boba. It was very flavorful and I wanted more after my serving. I definitely enjoyed my drink and looking forward to returning and tasting other items on the menu.

Yelp
Ever since I visited Japan, I have been obsessed with takoyaki. Ten cafe fulfills my takoyaki cravings. They are served piping hot with Japanese mayo, bonito flakes, takoyaki sauce, and the gorgeous squid inside. I have tried their boba, and it's mediocre. I got the mango boba and it tasted like medicine. The staff are really nice though, and my food usually takes about 10 minutes to be made, so I will keep on coming back here, but only for the food. Their store has Taiwanese and Japanese cultural influences shown by the decorations and the asian shows playing on the TV. They just recently renovated their store, and added 2 rows of gacha machines, which is a really fun place for teens.

Yelp
Post completion of my run, I discovered Ten Cafe after a search of restaurants with 'Boba Tea' via yelp. Ten Cafe just happened to be ranked number five within a radius of the area I was in, and along my route which made it very acceptable to choose. I ordered their grapefruit green tea online via yelp after scrolling through its menu. Ordering online via the yelp application was very convenient because by the time I arrived to pick up my drink, it was ready behind the counter upon my arrival. Ten Cafe itself sits within Roscoe Square amongst a plethora of businesses and restaurants that I am very familiar with. And the parking is free, and shared with a number of spots available, even directly outside of the storefront. I just could not resist sipping my grapefruit green tea after getting inside of my vehicle. It was so freaking good! My taste buds were surged with that delicious grapefruit and green tea combination I salivated for once I saw it on the menu. And I finished it off before even driving out of the parking lot, tehehe. Since I am now familiar with Ten Cafe, I would gladly order from again, which would more than likely be in the same fashion post completion of a run nearby. Recommendations: Fruit Tea (mango green tea, passionfruit green tea, grapefruit green tea, peach black tea, lychee black tea, purple grape oolong, or pineapple black tea. ~ Yabba dabba doo! ~ Thomas G

Yelp
Super quick Boba Tea. I wanted a treat before getting back to work. I ordered the Brown Sugar Boba Tea 50% sugar. I was satisfied with my drink and quick service. This location is super easy. Right off Western near Police Station and Marianos. Plenty of free parking. Inside there are two kiosks or you can order at the cash register. I liked that my order was done within two minutes. Some places take forever to make your order when it wasn't that deep. Will be back to try their fruit teas!!!

Yelp
My sister-in-law was in the mood for popping boba all day so we stopped at Ten Cafe on our way home. The interior was clean and nicely decorated throughout with a good amount of small tables and seating available. They have two kiosks near the entrance for ordering but the staff kindly asked myself and others who came in while the kiosks were both being used to order at the counter. My brother got the purple grape oolong tea with lychee popping boba and his wife got the passionfruit green tea with passion fruit popping boba and they both really liked theirs although she did say that the drink was still a little sweet for her taste even at 25% and that she'd probably order 0% sweetness next time. I usually get brown sugar drinks when I go to boba places but I was intrigued by the Yunyueng (coffee milk tea) options so I went to the counter to ask for some more information and they gladly explained them. The staff member let me know that the drink I was ordering was considered strong by some but I went ahead and decided to give it a try anyway. They also explained that there was a 5 min wait on regular tapioca pearls as they were finishing up a fresh batch but I didn't mind. The drinks of myself and 5 other customers were made very quickly once the pearls were ready. The Yunyueng did have a strong black tea and coffee taste that was quite bitter at first but once I stirred up the boba/syrup I grew to enjoy the mix of flavors. That being said, I'd probably order a brown sugar drink if I find myself at Ten Cafe again. P.s. We didn't get any food but the options did look pretty appealing if the photos on the menu are really indicative. My nose noted that something was being fried on my way back from the bathroom and it smelled so good.

Yelp
Eh maybe not the friendliest staff but great boba drinks! The menu has many drinks to choose from and some small bites.
google avatar

Zoe G.

Yelp
A local haunt for my girlfriend and I, we love being able to customize the sweetness!
google avatar

Adri T.

Yelp
This place looked promising but it is not good at all. I asked for 75% sweetness on my green matcha and I might as well have put 0% because it had NO taste whatsoever. The mango smoothie my kid ordered was just some weird flavoring. (not mango that is for sure) and ice. I am shocked to see this place was crowded the day I went because the drinks have NO taste whatsoever. This is the 2nd time this happens to us so it is not a fluke. It is not worth your money. I will stick to Argyle Street or Chinatown.
google avatar

Yesenia S.

Yelp
Ten cafe has a variety of milk, fruit, ice blends, rolled ice, and some food items. I got the Thai Iced milk tea and it was delicious! There's lots of seating space and parking available. Will definitely be coming back to try the matcha milk tea.
google avatar

Victoria W.

Yelp
I enjoyed my Jasmine Boba milk green tea (75% sugar) that I ordered from here. The tea flavor was strong, the sugar level was appropriate (could've even gone down to 50% sugar in my opinion, and it still would've been pretty sweet), and the boba had a good texture. One of the best parts of coming here is the location! This cafe has its own sizeable parking lot that it shares with the Chipotle next door! That is a rarity near downtown Chicago and a major perk in my opinion.
google avatar

Precious B.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! They were playing One Piece which is my 15 year old son's favorite anime lol. I ordered the taro ice blend, lavender milk tea, brown sugar boba milk tea, and two orders of takoyaki to go. The service was fast and the place had good vibes and super cute decor! I'll most definitely come back with my son.
google avatar

Stella W.

Yelp
5/5 on the taro cloud milk!Made with real taros, chunks of taro, and subtle real taro flavor, not so sweet, love it! I only wish they had grass jelly, that would be perfect combo! Hubby had a milk tea with 50% sugar, man, the tea is strong! Love it! One of the best milk tea boba I have had. I only wish I could also try the Thai coffee milk tea. Next time.
google avatar

Jerome N.

Yelp
I got the taro cloud milk tea with boba. It was $5.75 and with boba, it was an extra $1. It was so good! Must try. Taste like taro for sure. The presentation is nice. Also got the red bean milk cloud. It was $5.75. Must try! It taste like red bean but not too overwhelming. It's the right amount of flavor. I highly recommend coming here for boba and milk tea. The staff is really nice. You can also order through the machine located in the front of the store. The vibe in here is pretty cool
google avatar

Nolan F.

Yelp
We got a jasmine milk tea less sugar, black milk tea 0 sugar, and a taro milk drink (I don't remember the correct name for the last one). We were happy with the baseline milk tea drinks but the gimmicky taro drink tasted mostly of milk. It wasn't bad but not worth getting either. I like the parking lot and friendly service.
google avatar

Yelp
Personally I enjoy the Asian street snacks more so than the boba drinks! Drinks: Passionfruit green tea - 3.5/5 - green tea with mostly sweet passionfruit flavor with slight tart; other tea shops throw in the tasty passionfruit seeds making it more legit/authentic... ought to do the same here Purple grape oolong tea - 3.5/5 good but not outstanding Thai tea - 5/5 - this tea is a standard classic that you essentially can't mess up Food: Taiwanese popcorn chicken - 5/5 - I really liked the texture and taste Takoyaki (breaded dough balls filled with piece of octopus) - 5/5 - excellent quality; I love the texture Gyoza pork vs veggie - 4/5 - enjoyed both of them; perfect texture; you get 8 pieces usually just of one kind, but they were nice enough to split half and half for me Ambience: Decent sized tea shop Service: Fast and friendly

Yelp
Bought my daughter here because she loves boba and this one was close. It was nice and clean. I loved the little decorations and they have a wall that you can take pictures in front of. They had good customer service I asked for recommendations because I'm not really a fan, but the lady was very helpful and recommended lavender milk tea. She read my mind I love lavender and the tea was great! But I didn't like the boba balls. My daughter ordered the lunch special which included dumplings, fries, and she chose strawberry milk tea and she enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend.

Crystal C.

Yelp
Refused service because they are closed at 7:25.so lock the door. Disappointed Why let me look at the menu.
google avatar

Deidra S.

Yelp
I really like it and will be ordering from them again. I ordered the Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea. Amazing! Sweet enough - the boba slightly added sweetness. Very good bubble tea! Portions are pretty decent too.
google avatar

Melanie V.

Yelp
Cutest boba spot that also offers food! I ordered the brown sugar latte (my go to) and they always make it perfect! Great customer service, good location and cute decor!
google avatar

Jorge M.

Yelp
I came here yesterday and ordered the Taro Milk Cloud tea. Luckily, I had a free beverage available or I'd be pretty disappointed that I spent my money on it. The flavor was off and hardly tasted like taro at all. My partner enjoyed their drink, so at least one of us left happy. Service was quick and the location itself was clean.
google avatar

Maya M.

Yelp
Love this cafe! This place is clean and the staff wear face masks at all times. The customer service was good! They have a good selection of milk teas and ice cream! We ordered in store and we waited for 3-5 minutes to get our entire order. We ordered the matcha lady, Oreo lover, matcha milk tea with matcha milk cap and taro ice blend. Oreo lover - the name says it all! If you love Oreos then you need to get this. Matcha lady - had the perfect ratio of matcha and sugar! Would definitely get this one again. Matcha milk tea with matcha milk cap - went with 25% sugar! The matcha flavour comes through better with a lower sugar level. But if you are someone who doesn't want a strong matcha flavour then I would suggest going for 50% sugar level. All their ice creams have eggs in them! Definitely not an option for egg allergy. Instead you can for their ice blends! Perfect for the summer heat. Price - priced just like any other bubble tea spot! Worth it. Definitely recommend this place for some good bubble tea and rolled ice cream.

Yelp
The Chicago area (particularly the north side around Lakeview and Roscoe Village) lack boba options unfortunately. I don't know how long this place has been open for, but we recently walked by and decided to try this place and were happy with our choice. The popcorn chicken is pretty good (ask for more sauce though), and we did like our drinks. I do feel like the service could be a little friendlier, but it is what it is. Don't expect too much. The girls behind the counter didn't smile or show any attempt to be friendly. The man who handed us our drinks and popcorn chicken was a bit friendlier for sure. As far as ambiance, it definitely seems like this used to be a Yogurtland or something similar, but they added some little touches to make it feel relaxing and fun. They play cartoons over the TV which is a nice add. We'll be back for sure!

Jane P.

Yelp
I've been here a few times and had so many good things. The rolled ice cream is really great and it's a lot so bring someone to share. There's great bubble tea, including taro, my fave. And the popcorn chicken is so good!! Love it.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
A welcome addition to one of Chicago's boba deserts (i.e., anywhere outside Chinatown or Argyle). I've come here several times since they first opened last summer and I feel like they've definitely improved their bubble milk teas in that time (which is the only thing I get here). Thus far I've tried the roasted oolong and jasmine green boba milk tea and they both taste like real tea - this is actually one of the stronger tea joints, which I love (comparable to Bingo Tea). The tapioca pearls are great too, not as sweet as some other places - just a hint of sweetness but it's enough for me. One thing you'll notice is they're extremely fast. Usually when I go there aren't any/many customers and my drink is ready almost immediately after ordering. One time it was even brought out before I finished paying! This speed often makes me question whether they got my order right but they get it right every time, including the sugar level and ice level! Very impressive.
google avatar

Mike L.

Yelp
The flavors are very bland, almost tastes watered down. Not creamy at all. Kids didn't even touch there's after one sip.

Yelp
I was surprised to see a new Bubble Tea and Rolled Ice Cream Cafe in the area! What a great addition. I'm a huge fan of Bubble Tea. I cannot tell you how much I enjoy it, and I've been drinking it for about 6 years here in Chicago. There are a ton of places that suck -- but this is not one of those places. I've only tried the following so far: Roasted Oolong Milk Tea with boba (many times) Taro Milk Tea with boba (a couple of times) Matcha Lady Rolled Ice Cream (once) And yes, it is delicious. It is worth trying. I love how perfectly soft the boba is and how healthy/natural the drinks taste. I'm not a fan of synthetic tasting/ hyper-sugary drinks. Not for me. The Matcha Lady is also delicious and comes with some fun toppings. Huge fan. A few tips: - Yes! there's the option to ask for less/more ice or less/more sugar! Let them know what you like. I do it all the time. - You can order ahead and pick up! That saves you waiting time. - They have stamps cards! If you're a regular like me, that gets you a free drink every now and then. Cool place. Welcome to the neighborhood!
google avatar

Tia E.

Yelp
I Love Ten Cafe ever since I found this spot nearby my home it's been the best boba ever from flavors to boba texture just amazing! I recommend this place if you love Boba tea and also there respectful customer service is outstanding I love how they always happy n positive. This is my fav place!

Bechtel R.

Yelp
Some of the best boba in the city! Besides great service and rewards programs, they also have awesome snacks options - the Taiwanese chicken bites being the best. It's a perfect salty pairing with the not too sweet boba. I recommend the Oolong Milk Tea for a more umami flavored boba!
google avatar

J'Ana D.

Yelp
Super cute boba shop that also serves food. My friend got the brown sugar milk tea and loved it. I got the Passion fruit green tea and it was so good and refreshing. Ten cafe is so cute there's great spots for the perfect Instagram picture with it's decorative walls and neon signs.
google avatar

Nicole C.

Yelp
So I've been here 4 times already and I gotta say it's a great addition to the neighborhood! So far I think the best on the menu from the ones I've tried so far is the brown sugar and the original milk tea with regular tapioca! Both were not insanely sweet and the tapioca texture was chewy! All to my liking. I did try the matcha and Thai tea ice blend but it wasn't my cup of tea (no pun intended) and were kind of watered down unfortunately. The crystal boba is more like gelatin. Again just be open-minded! This boba cafe has a lot of potential! Hence the many options availability!
google avatar

Eric E.

Yelp
So delicious and authentic. Have to get rolled ice cream and boba tea every time! They roll the ice cream right in front of you. I'm glad they seem popular because they deserve it. No matter how many orders they have it's always quick service. Beautiful esthetic in the shop as well with different anime playing on the tv while you wait. I've gotten the pink berry rolled ice cream almost every time I've gone just because it was the first one I tried and loved it so much. This time around. Got the Taro with mango boba, just as tasty!
google avatar

Annie I.

Yelp
I love anything taro and the taro ice blend was perfect. Staff is friendly and inside is cute.
google avatar

Aaron A.

Yelp
I highly recommend the brown sugar milk tea and highly discouraged you from ordering the taro milk tea. The taro milk tea looks pale and almost translucent. Tastes like watered milk with a heap of sugar, not milky at all. The brown sugar milk tea is on point. Will come back for that.
google avatar

Ariana G.

Yelp
Was in the neighborhood and decided to get some boba because I had time to kill. This is my first time getting boba in MONTHS since this pandemic started so I've been deprived haha. The overall place is super cute and IG worthy. I think this place is a nice addition the the Roscoe Village area since there aren't boba places in this area. I ordered the roasted oolong boba milk tea. My overall score is a 3-3.5. It's good but I've had better. This place is definitely less on the sweet side. It kinda tastes watered down. Still enjoyable though. Will I come back? I'm not sure.
google avatar

Siri M.

Yelp
So convenient, quick, and good! I love that their caffeine drinks are soy milk based and won't upset ny stomach. The brown sugar milk boba hit the spot and I'll definitely be back to try other drinks!
google avatar

Carrie C.

Yelp
Love Ten Cafe. I get Thai coffee there often. Their dumplings are good too. They also have very friendly staff.
google avatar

B Z.

Yelp
One of the best boba places around the area. Brown sugar boba is a definite favorite, a classic. Popcorn chicken is a bit less impressive but would still give it a try, the portions are worth it for a snack. It's very quaint and has a nice atmosphere - I think this is more of a spot to hang out with friends and chat than a spot for productivity. If you come here 10 times and get a stamp you get a free drink ^^
google avatar

Madison S.

Yelp
Here we are , another bubble tea review. I didn't get tea this time but got a strawberry ice blend (which was essentially a smoothie). I have no idea what they put in this but it tasted sort of artificial and reminded be of strawberry nesquick. The spot was cute and clean , and the staff was friendly and quick Overall , not the greatest due to the flavor and am not sure if I'd come back.
google avatar

Lulu K.

Yelp
This place was a hit with my family! First time trying and what I got was delicious. lol got the purple grape oolong tea with lychee jelly. Balance of sweet and fruity' My other family members got the brown sugar milk tea and coffee milk tea. All were great according to them. The popcorn chicken I would say was okay. Will def go back and try their other flavors!
google avatar

AJ M.

Yelp
You dont see many bubble tea spots in the city. I loved the ones back in the burbs. This spot is in this large shopping complex. Very simple and modern/clean setup here. You order on the large pad and they will call out your name The tea was pretty solid, and the street is nice to nibble on.. Will say that thier cups are deff strategically designed to be narrow + a whole lotta ice = less volume of tea... overall pretty good though
google avatar

Kay S.

Yelp
Cute place. Good bubble tea, friendly service and cute decor. There was a promo to buy gift cards for this cute plush! Will be back.
google avatar

Yelp
I love this place ! Best boba in town . The costumer service is great . I love how clean this place is . I already came in like 3 times
google avatar

Marzia A.

Yelp
My favorite boba place, hands down! Convenient location with free accessible parking. Inside decor is creative and cozy. Now, as for my favorite drink; Thai Iced Coffee with Boba! It hits the spot, all the time. Strong coffee with sweetened cream and the perfectly textured boba make it worth the trip. I have yet to try their other drinks, but I've been hooked on the Thai Iced Coffee for a while now.
google avatar

Imee I.

Yelp
Great to see a good Boba Tea & Rolled Ice Cream shop up in the area! I will definitely come back and I'm excited to try different milk tea flavors. I bought the Thai milk tea with boba. I had to add some half and half creamer at home because the Thai tea was too sweet for my taste. Overall, boba was a good amount of chewy and soft. Suggestion: add option for customers to choose sugar levels
google avatar

Miche H.

Yelp
Ten Cafe is a little expensive, but they always provide quick and friendly service and the drinks are delicious.
google avatar

Julie Y.

Yelp
Great addition to the area!! To those complaining about it being too sweet - I usually do 25% sweet and it's perfect! They also have non dairy options!!
google avatar

Niki R.

Yelp
This place has some amazing and authentic milk teas! I tried the thai milk tea and my sister got the matcha milk tea. Both tasted traditional and not too sweet. The boba was also well made. This is definitely one of the better bubble tea shops in Chicago!
google avatar

MJ L.

Yelp
Just no. After moving from the West coast, we immediately embarked on a mission to find good bubble tea around here. This is the closest to our house, but the bubble tea here is so disappointing- way too sweet, and not authentic tasting. Try Hello Jasmine in Lincoln Park for authentic bubble tea. We will consider coming back for rolled ice cream, and update review accordingly.
google avatar

Evangeline I.

Yelp
Bubble tea isn't as popular in Chicago as in other major cities in the US so there aren't many bubble tea spots (that are good) here but I'm glad this particular one is close to me. I've tried a bunch of flavors but really enjoy their infamous taro cloud with boba. It's a swirl of cheese foam and taro, and the boba balls are soft and chewy. And the taro is real! I saw some reviews complaining about how grainy it was, but like, this is the good stuff! Lots of boba spots use powder and that's so much lower in quality. I tend to stay away from those places, or at least just order fruit teas instead of their milk ones. The taro cloud is what made me a fan because it screamed authenticity and truly reminded me of real Taiwanese bubble tea drinks. I probably treat myself more often than I should here, but I'm not ashamed! Utilize the punch card they offer ;)
