Stayed at the ten dollar town motel recently and overall was ok but definitely had some notable deductions such as dirty floor, staff were quite unfriendly and only said a few words to us like they didn’t want us to stay there? Breakfast was included which is nice to see and the room itself was pretty cheap for today’s standards but unless you’re just stopping by for the night and want a very cheap place to stay I wouldn’t really recommend staying here as there are much better options in and around Mudgee which is only 20 minutes for Gulgong.

After doing a lot of research for accommodation in the area we were looking for a family room that was great value for money. The Ten Dollar Motel exceeded our expectations. Firstly, you can't beat the price. Around $200 per night for 2 adults and 2 kids INCLUDING breakfast for 2 of us. And I'm not talking about a simple continental breakfast. A choice of fully cooked breakfast (we choose the bacon, eggs, tomatoes and 2 slices of toast) plus there was a selection of cheap options for the kids. Secondly, the room was HUGE. We stayed in room 23 and I must say it's probably the biggest family room we have stayed in, and we have stayed in lots of them. Yes its a bit dated but it was clean and very comfortable. About 40 m2 with a decent sized bathroom. Thirdly, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had a little problem with the shower head on the first night (it was leaking from the back) so we informed the manager the following morning and within the hour we had a new shower head. It's rare to get that level of service these days. Lastly, you can't beat the location. Right in the middle of town within walking distance of everything in Gulgong. So if you're looking for a decent budget accommodation that ticks all the boxes, consider this little gem. We will definitely be back.

Clean and reasonable priced but some of the little things need some attention. One of my pet peeves is curtains that cant close properly. It took an ironing board, two coat hangars and a chair to keep the light out.||Sadly it looked as if its heritage was sold off. There were some gorgeous old radiograms and other ephemera on display. They were all up for sale and sadly not being replaced. ||Breakfast was included in a nearby cafe. Beautiful old building impeccably poached eggs but sadly the bacon had been cooked in a microwave. ||I would stay here again, the rooms are of a reasonable size, they were clean and I would just pack some blinkers. I wouldn't waste my money on breakfast though as there were many lovely cafes all vying for your trade nearby.

The rooms are very clean and has everything one needs. The shower was a let down, no water pressure and small shower. The tap was hard to turn on, it leaked hence the tightness of the tap. The meal was very good with a discount for guests. Breakfast included. Just the best breakfast, no restrictions on the menu, cooked to perfection, very generous serves. Highly recomended.

Used to stay here every year on a business trip and had a really good relationship with the previous owners. It has however recently changed hands and when my trip was put off for a week the new owner would not let me transfer my room to the following week without paying twice. When I questioned him about availability he even told me there were plenty of vacancies. Times are tough enough without getting ripped off by greedy motel owners.|That will be the last time I stay at the ten dollar town motel. In the future I will stay at Mudgee.

Booked on booking.com it said breakfast included in final price. Arrived at hotel reception informed breakfast was for 2 people only we had a family of 5, i explained to the reception thats not what our booking said so he went on his profile and showed it said only for 2 ppl. I than went on the same website searched in every area and still couldn't find this myself even read the important information and everything. I showed the reception my booking said breakfast included in final price he still didn't honour the breakfast for all. He then asked if we wanted the smaller family room even though we paid for the larger one. We obviously declined. Wifi is absolutely useless. Motel said dinner is 7 days a week just to find out it is actually closed Sundays they may want to update there information in the information books in the rooms. Than the next day we went and had breakfast the free meals have there very own small menu so u cant pick from the normal menu which this isn't stated anywhere on booking neither. We also ordered a kids pancake and a adult pancake they came out exactly the same size and without icecream and maple syrup like advertised we went an complain and the lady said i will bring the maple syrup out but our icecream machine is broken. They should of informed us of this upon ordering because my kids would if changed their order. We also paid 19 dollars for the adults and it was the same size as the 9 dollar kids pancakes which we complained about and didn't get compensation for. The town is a nice town but wouldn't recommend staying here with their deals unless they make everything clear when booking. Very let down.

Glad we decided to stay in this quaint gorgeous town... what an absolute delight! Motel great for price. Free breakfast was fantastic. The friendliness and great customer service in every place we went made us wish we could stay longer.

we booked accomodation at this hotel over a month or so ago. This week, we received a call saying our booking was cancelled due to an unsolvable plumbing issue. We were referred to another hotel in the area that disclosed to us this was a regular occurrence, due to our rate being below average. Thankfully we were offered alternative accommodation at a hotel that was willing to accomodate us and give us a decent rate despite the inconvenience. An absolutely disgusting way to run a business cancelling a week before an event.
