What It's Like to Stay at Disneyland's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa

"A serene, full-service spa marketed as a peaceful escape from the parks offering signature treatments such as a river stone massage (which can be set to classical Disney covers on request) and a gemstone sparkle facial with a diamond collagen mask; guests are encouraged to linger in the relaxation lounge with tea after treatments." - Nina Ruggiero Nina Ruggiero Travel + Leisure Senior Editorial Director Nina Ruggiero oversees T+L's award-winning travel content across digital platforms. I scheduled a same day classic pedicure as an impulse since I was going to be at the resort that day anyway. I was not disappointed. In fact, I may have to budget in getting my pedis here more often! Jenny was my nail tech and she is the sweetest woman. I would highly recommend booking with her. We chatted a bit here and there but mostly I was able to lay back and just vibe in the quiet atmosphere. She was very gentle and thorough with my beat up runner’s feet 😆 There was also a gentleman who came by to provide me with refreshments and some surprise snacks, as well as a warm, weighted, lavender scented neck pillow. They start right on time, as long as you’re on time, and the salon is relaxing from the get go. They play spa versions of Disney songs and everything is so quiet, despite the salon being right next the very active main pool area. The chairs are very comfortable, and they have both massage and heat functions. Not to mention that all the buttons worked (if you go to a lot of salons, you know). This classic pedicure was $90, inclusive of the 20% gratuity that the spa automatically adds. It’s not mandatory, so you can have it adjusted if you’d like. Know that they will have you pay prior to your spa services.

What an amazing experience! True to all Disney this spa has a story to tell. You are given a choice at the beginning (I won’t spoil it for you) and depending on that choice you journey through your spa experience with that intention. The facility was beautiful. The extra magic throughout made it luxurious and fun. From the relaxation room with your choice of heated and scented neck pillow accompanied by tea and treats, to the music you listen to during your service. It’s all about you. The massage was amazing! 10 out of 10. Worth every penny!!! Better than any Disney souvenir a hard working momma could ask for. Thanks for the magic! 🪄

I had a great experience at Tenaya Stone Spa. It started with the women at the front desk being so helpful and showing me around. They talked me through what to expect as it was my first time at a spa. I enjoyed the eucalyptus steam room and then a nice rain fall shower afterward. I was provided shower shoes and a super comfy robe. After my shower, I went into a relaxation room. I was provided pastries, fruit infused water, & there's relaxing sounds as well as a little water fall. I was also given a warm neck pillow while I waited. Right on time, my masseuse Carr, came out. She was extremely kind and helpful. My massage was amazing and I added on a scalp massage because I was enjoying my experience so much! The massage oil/lotion smelled so good and left my skin feeling so soft. When I was done, I decided to check out the little gift shop by the front desk. I bought myself a beautiful gemstone necklace. They have some of the products they used during the massage and other little spa like products. I really enjoyed my massage and the overall experience. I would recommend and I will definitely be back!

I booked the Tenaya Signature Massage (80-min) in January of 2024 and had a wonderful experience. I received a phone call the day prior to confirm my reservation. Check-in on the day of was seamless, and the staff was superb. I was given a brief history of the spa followed by a tour of the facilities. After settling in, my masseuse showed me to the treatment room. He assessed my needs, and provided a massage that was therapeutic and relaxing. The products he used smelled nice and left my skin feeling soft and hydrated. I appreciated the massage tables they use. Not only are they heated, but they raise and lower, which is beneficial for guests. The blankets, robes and towels were also incredibly soft and comfortable. The (men’s) wet area was pristine, with ice water, robes, towels, sandals, along with any toiletries you might need. The lockers have built-in locks for your personals. The showers and steam room are elegant and provide total privacy. The relaxation area was my favorite part. They provide fresh fruit and snacks, along with assorted beverages. This area has comfortable lighting and gentle music. There were also books and magazines if you find yourself with extra time. The theming of the spa was done quite nicely. A woodsy yet elegant vibe, that immediately relaxes your mind. The design throughout was quite calming. The art provides a cohesiveness that makes you forget about the theme park that sits next door. I think the remodel of this spa was done beautifully and I look forward to my next visit.

This was my first trip ever to California and coming to the Tenaya Salon was the best experience ever! My stylist took care of me, was super friendly, and listened to my requests. I highly recommend her and will be coming back just to see her! Thank you again!

Google
This was a wonderful experience! I was there in early July 2022. The staff are so friendly and helpful. They have impeccable attention to detail and wonderful customer service. The relaxation room is absolutely beautiful and really helps you find your zen. The river stone treatment was heavenly! I got to pick my aromatherapy and my music. The therapist was really kind and checked in often to be sure I was okay. Tools are top of the line. I left with the only regret that I didn’t book more services. I am already tying to find out when I can return!

Tenaya Stone Spa is absolutely magical. My husband and I have been coming to Tenaya for a year and enjoyed every treatment we’ve received. The staff go above and beyond and exude in customer service. I can’t rave enough about the stellar service we’ve received from David, Jenny, Lydia, Martha, Meeka, Sammy, Alaina, Daniela, DJ, Garret, Jose and the other amazing technicians who provide such phenomenal service from scheduling, front-desk, massage and foot treatments, and locker room service. We’re so thankful to have met Lydia (Massage therapist) who happened to promote Tenaya which we never knew existed within the grounds of the Grand California Hotel. Since our very first treatment we were hooked and have been coming back faithfully as often as we can over this past year. We’ve brought several of our family members in for treatment whom have all enjoyed the amenities and staff members. They’ve all become regulars as well. This truly is our “home away from home,” and is a spa we are so blessed to have found by passing by the back entrance to DCA and finding this hidden treasure of tranquility. Every service offered comes with pixie dust, royal treatment and Disney magic.

Google
Just WOW! Let me say that this is not something I would typically do during my Disney vaction as it is so hard to tear myself away from the parks. But the day before was tropical storm Hilary and my friend and I had free run of both DCA and DL. This meant we rode every single ride without waiting in line!! That said, this was one of the very best spa experiences I've ever had. My hosts name was Jazmine, and she went above and beyond to make this a most magical day. From the moment she introduced herself and guided me through the welcome ceremony, I was blown away. The facility was spotless and so very thoughtfully appointed with everything you could need and then some. Every single person I interacted with was gracious, and my actual massage (by David) was fantastic. I opted for a 50-minute $195 version. In all, my friend and I were able to relax and soak up the goodness for about 3 hours with time before and after to enjoy the amenities. I would do this again in a heartbeat as it was truly memorable. Did I mention the spa has a bunch of fabulous exclusive merchandise?!

Yelp
My favorite spa. Hard to go anywhere else. We drive up from San Diego just to get a pedi here.

Yelp
Feeling so lucky and grateful that I got to enjoy this spa while staying at Disneyland's grand California hotel I'm not going to talk too much about the spa because I don't want to give it away per say but everything about the spa is so intentional like if you're having a treatment as soon as you walk in those details, it's just it's amazing because I'm all for intention with everything that I do in in my life so this spa is it !! if you're thinking about a treatment don't think do it spend the day there Reset, rewind, recharge also I had an amazing service by everybody that I encounter that day. And since we all know, Disney celebrating their 70s anniversary, I also got spoiled with the special 70th anniversary foot treatment it was so good. I literally wanted to eat it. All those products are amazing and it was just a really good service overall thank you 10/10
google avatar

Lily T.

Yelp
My bestie and I tried out the 70th anniversary dessert foot spa. I was never disappointed with Disney before not until this spa experience. The foot spa least only 50 minutes with minimal effort. The treatment includes a chocolate soak, berry scrub, banana mask, and vanilla bean massage. It costs $160 (gratuity not included). It was very expensive and it is not worth it. We never got the banana mask treatment. On top of that the we were sitting on the massage chair next to the glass window where we can see people eating and swimming. To me that is not relaxation. Please do not try this and waste your time or money. You will be disappointed too.

Yelp
Doc treated both of us for an 80 minute polstice massage- heavenly and I felt like I was floating after the session. They assign you a locker, give you spa slip ons for your feet and a plush brown robe- I felt like Brother Bear. We checked in 30 minutes earlier than 2 pm as instructed. You can shower or relax til you are called. I had Loo who was like an angel. You can choose from 4 scents for your polstice. I choose deep sleep and decompressing the lungs. Boy did I knock out in between lying on my front then turning over.

Yelp
My husband, sister, and I booked the 7:30am Yoga in the Redwood Creek class with Shinobu. Not sure when the calendar releases class spots, but we were able to book the last three spots a week before we planned to take the class. I think we got lucky because Shinobu says it is a popular class. We received a reminder phone call a couple days before class. We were informed that we wouldn't be able to park at Grand Californian if we were not hotel guests, so we opted to catch an Uber and got dropped off. We were also informed that personal belongings were not allowed, but a phone was okay. You also don't get access to change or anything, but there's a restroom nearby. We arrived early to check in and pay. (Credit card or hotel room charge only.) We received a wristband, bottled water, granola bars, as well as a yoga mat + towels to borrow. While we waited, Shinobu went around meeting everyone and learning our names. The yoga class itself was a fantastic flow. I haven't been doing yoga regularly, but it was easy to follow along. Shinobu also noticed I was pregnant and provided modifications along the way. She did an amazing job remembering and utilizing people's names during the small class. Because of what time our class was happening, we were allowed to take photos (not videos) if we wanted. Shinobu also offered to help take photos of us at the end of class. Highly recommend one of Shinobu's classes if you have the time before the parks open!

Yelp
I had initially signed up for a paddle board yoga session, but ended up adding a massage to my experience as well. The yoga session was fun and challenging, but I did not realize when I signed up that I would not have access to the locker room to change before and after the session; so if you're not staying on-site this could be a problem. Adding a massage to my morning solved that issue. The check-in process was pleasant and the staff was very helpful and kind. The facility is immaculate and very conducive to rest and relaxation. There are snacks available, as well as a variety of delicious waters. My massage therapist was super sweet and worked around my various injuries. I will most definitely be back to this spa during my next visit.

Yelp
Absolutely the best spa experience ever! From the welcoming receptionist to my massage therapist....it was bliss. Kev was my massage therapist and nailed it!!! He was attentive, best pressure EVER and amazing bedside manners.

Yelp
What can I say? Wonderful experience! Imagine spending a hectic morning rope dropping Disneyland, riding rides, figuring out lightning lane, most waits were ~60 mins with crowds in every corner of the park. First day of "season of the force". Then at 2 pm leaving the park and walking to Tenaya Stone Spa. Sitting in luxury, getting a 50 mins relaxation massage while listening to Disney music, sauna, shower and back in the park relaxed, refreshed and ready to shut it down. Can't think of a better way to do a Disney day!!
google avatar

Cassie T.

Yelp
The experience as a whole was just amazing. It's well worth the $$$. My massage therapist Laura was kind, checked in with me on how the pressure was and it truly was a magical experience. I used the steam room and shower after the session. The ladies locker room also has a wonderful vanity to use as well. The robe and sandals were so cozy - i really should have bought a robe on my way out. It was pure relaxation after a long 2 days of walking at the parks. I will be returning.

Yelp
After a long day walking around the park we wanted to just relax our legs with 2 spa deluxe pedicures and WOW what an amazing experience. I can't wait to visit Disneyland again so we can try other things at the spa. They do offer massages next time. We will definitely try that out as well. highly recommend anyone staying at the hotels or just visiting the park this is the place to go

Yelp
We had extra time on our trip to Disneyland and decided to indulge and go to the spa! I highly highly recommend doing this. Yes, it may be a little more pricey but it was such an incredible experience and one of the best massages I have received! One thing I love is that they immediately immerse you when you walk into the spa. They have you go through a short ceremony where you pick a stone that speaks to you, then they explain what that stone represents. They also have the typical amenities of a spa: delicious flavored water, some snacks, lounge chairs, supplies for showering there, and they have steam rooms in the gendered locker rooms. The snacks they had when we went were blueberry bread and vanilla scones! So delicious! I received a massage and my massage therapist offered my choice of music between typical spa sounds, acoustic guitar, or instrumental Disney songs! I of course chose the Disney songs. I did learn from my mom she was not offered a choice, so I am assuming it depends on your massage therapist. But I would highly recommend the Disney songs if you are a fan and want to add that extra magic in your life! After we were done, we were relaxing in the lounge and not much time passed before an attendant came in with warm lavender neck towels to make our stay even better! One tip I can recommend is to schedule your appointment either early morning or when they open, that way it really is not that crowded at all and you can truly relax!

Yelp
Two weeks ago my boyfriend, now fiancé, treated us to an 80-minute couple's massage at Tenaya Stone Spa, located on the campus of Disney's Grand Californian Hotel, and pretty much everything about the experience was luxurious, and it was the perfect way to celebrate our engagement! The entrance/lobby of the store has a gift shop with various self-care merchandise - and you can even purchase the super comfy robes to enjoy at home! The story of the Tenaya Stone discovered by Chief Tenaya of the Ahwahnechee people, and gifted to Disney by the Miwok family (who are descended from the Chief), is at the center of the experience at the spa. Before your service you're invited to select from a variety of stones to place on the sacred Tenaya Stone to set an intention, and then invited to change into their soft robes, sandals, and to enjoy amenities such as the steam room, and the relaxation/waiting room where they have a sampling of pastries (I tried a delicious blueberry scone), tea, coffee, and infused water. You're also permitted to stick around after your service to enjoy these amenities. For the service itself, our massage therapists were professional, allowed us to select the scent of the lotion used during the service, and asked about desired pressure and areas of the body needing extra attention - and they delivered! We definitely left feeling refreshed! If you're spending a few days visiting the parks it's definitely worthwhile to slow down and treat yourself to a bit of luxury at Tenaya Stone Spa!

Yelp
If you have ever been to Disneyland, you know how magical your day at the park can be. Music, treats, and amazing rides galore. And then you go home sad because the day is over. You might also feel physically like you have been hit by a bus due to all the walking, carrying lightsabers, screaming on rides, and all the physicality of being at the park. To avoid this (and spoil ourselves) Shelby and I got the acclaimed Mindful Traveler foot treatment ($125). It's a 50 minute massage focused on your calves and feet. It includes an non alcoholic beverage, a snack fresh from the kitchen in the hotel, and massage to release the tension in your feets from walking around the parks. The staff was extremely professional and attentive and the ambiance is unbeatable Luxe Disney. Next time I would like to get the full body massage and get to experience the rest of the spa.

Yelp
Loved being a guest here.. is there better spas, yes! Are they at Disney.. no!! I will never make the mistake of staying here enjoying the parks and not booking a spa day (best decision ever) It's a very small spa, small seating area to relax before and after the treatment. Not many amenities as far as things to do, just a sauna and a small seating area, I wish they had a jacuzzi or some sort of pool area within the spa. My treatment was well needed l, relaxing and just peaceful.. a bit on the pricy side but what do you expect, it's Disney. Will I be coming back? Absolutely!

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed this spa. It was definitely a highlight of my stay at the Grand Californian! I came for a 50min Tenaya Signature Massage. The spa staff are all very friendly and nice. Check in and payment were very easy and quick. The amenities were wonderful and my masseuse, Alaina M., was sent from God. I live in San Diego, but would definitely travel to get treated by her again. She listened to my preferences/trouble areas and addressed all of them with the right amount of pressure. We had some great small talk (was great to meet a fellow SU fan!) and I got a very great vibe from her. I left with that good sore you get after an amazing massage and felt extremely relaxed after. The bathroom/lockers were nice and clean with plenty of toiletries to help you look ready for the rest of your day. The steam room was unavailable due to COVID-19, but that wasn't an issue for me. The lockers had ample room for my personal belongings and there were instructions on the wall that are easy to follow in case you forget how to open/close them. The relaxation lounge was very welcoming and relaxing. There was plenty of seating as well as infused/bottle water and baked treats/snacks to munch on before or after your appointment. In addition to a spa treatment, my husband and I also took a Power Walking Workout in DCA class. Our instructor, Shinobu, was AMAZING! She had such great energy that really got us pumped and excited for the day even though we took the class our last morning during our stay and would have normally been exhausted to do anything! The class was so much fun! You get to go into the park before anyone else; it's just you and cast members getting the park ready for the crowds! You're not allowed to bring any belongings on the walk, so be prepared to leave your phones, backpacks, and canteens behind. Regardless, it was just a great, unique experience and we would definitely take another class the next time we stay at the Grand Californian! Overall, all of the experiences were amazing and I highly recommend trying this spa out!

Yelp
Was supposed to have a manicure and pedicure services, but they called ahead to canceled my manicure due to staffing conflicts. OK cool, no big deal. Arrived 15 minutes early to my pedicure appointment per instructions. I got bored of the gift shop and asked if I can sit in the lounge. They said no, it's for people getting services. I said, but I am getting the pedicure, and they said "massage services, you're getting salon services and unfortunately they don't count". I'm not asking for the robe, I want a place to sit and maybe get water while I wait. The front desk says I can get my water outside in the neighboring pool bar and use the outdoor benches. I don't know what type of front house operation they're running, but I felt cheapened of the "first impression" experience over the TYPE of services you're going to get. Actual pedicure was great! The technician gave me all the cucumber water I wanted from what I suspect is their "spa" lounge area, and the place was clean and sanitary. (Tools were removed from sealed pouch.) Front house policy needs to review how they treat paying customers. Again, I understand that you don't want to give me a robe, but to tell me to get water somewhere else when you told me to come early is dumb and disrespectful. Service purchased: Grand Pedicure, $95 as of May 2023. Description (everything confirmed and got): "This luxurious pedicure features an aromatic foot soak, nail grooming (cut, file, cuticle care and buff), exfoliation, callus removal, foot filing, warm stone massage, paraffin treatment and polish application."

Yelp
Omg I found my favorite SoCal spa, probably second favorite spa I've traveled to globally. Disney understands how to make a spa not just a service but an experience. From the moment I walked in, I felt tranquil, feeling naturally only the need to whisper and speak calmly from then on. The sights, sounds and fragrances are incomparable and so perfectly CA. And when I took a shower, somehow someone had put a new bath towel on the floor for when I stepped out and disappeared. How did they even know?! I did the citrus body grove treatment with Ashly who was AAAAAAAMMMAAAAZING! And the treatment was unbelievable. Ashly was a total sweetheart and answered all kinds of questions I had on skincare. I'm going to ask for her next time. Every new treatment she gave me had such an amazing fragrance and next day my skin still felt so soft and smelled so good. I feel like a cozy baby and wish I had planned to stay here for 6 hours instead of the 3 I allocated. It's pricy but worth it and I hope to do this again as an annual treat!

Yelp
3.5 rating for it being a lil pricey with such limited amenities. I get it, you're at Disney's Grand so of course you're paying for even being there to begin with. But with that being said, you would've expected a little more. Such as, a jacuzzi/pool, bigger locker room, and more toilet/shower stalls. Nothing too grand about it. Staff were friendly and kind to say the least. Spa was kept clean. I got the seasonal massage (something along the lines of that) and honestly it felt like any regular-degular massage. Nothing seasonal about it. I don't think it was worth the price I paid. They also add automatic gratuity towards your masseuse which was fine! Maybe I'm comparing it to the spas at Wynn/Encore or the ones I've been to in Japan... but this will be my first and last experience here hahaha. OH 5 star rating for the steam room and hummus they offer lol. Come check it out for yourself while you're here! You may or may not end up liking it :)

Yelp
A surprising oasis inside of the Disneyland Resort. I visited on a Saturday and it was pretty quiet inside the spa - most people seemed to pop in for their treatment and exit immediately. The relaxation lounge was excellent and comfy, but a little tight. The snacks and drinks were all superb, as was the excellent service. I thought the men's locker area was far too small and felt cramped with more than one person in the changing area. Amenities were great, and my massage was excellent for the price. The only big downside for me for this spa was essentially the second you step out of the spa, you're fully and completely re-immersed in the chaos, crowds, strollers, and craziness that comes with being at the Disneyland Resort. I'd definitely come back, but would also like to check out other spas in the area before returning.

Yelp
So what do I have to say about the second spa opened by Disney? I LOVED it. I used to really like Mandara Spa, but Tenaya Stone Spa is so much better. The space itself was made very thoughtfully and respectful to the Native Americans which was so lovely that each cast member explained meanings behind everything. The service itself was top tier with no complaints from neither my partner nor I. The Space: Beautiful! I mean it's absolutely beautiful and so relaxing. This spa is still pretty new but everything is perfection, clean, and each area looks taken care of very often. It's exactly what you would expect from a Disney Spa. Locker rooms were tidy and spacious. Relaxation room was wonderfully peaceful with plenty of space, chairs, blankets, bottled water or fruit infused water, or tea. We got a couples massage so our massage room was huge! The Service: We've had our fair share of bad massages, but this was the opposite. It was the best massage both my partner and I have ever received. Lydia and Car were so professional and accommodating. Lydia was so sweet and even gave me recommendations after treatment as I was a dehydrated and tight in one particular area. Overall, we are more than happy with our service and experience. We will be returning and already planning to book our next appointment!

Yelp
My daughter and I needed a haircut and one of our family friends recommended Tenaya for their salon service. Our experience was incredible with our expert stylist Abi! Every person we encountered from the parking attendant who walked us almost to the spa, to the kind greeters when entering the Tenaya spa and our amazing stylist Abi went above and beyond to make us feel relaxed and amazing. The hotel and spa are luxurious and beautiful at every turn. I am a mineral crystal enthusiast and I was so excited to see crystals like quartz, selenite, labradorite, fluorite all over the spa as decoration and even as part of the lighting. It is not easy to find a stylist who knows how cut straight hair well. Mss. Abi is extraordinary and did an incredible job with both my daughter's hair and mine. Thank you Abi and Tenaya for the amazing experience. We can't wait to come back soon.

Yelp
I absolutely love the spa, and can not wait till our next visit in November! My family and I love to stay at the Grand when we visit Disney. We recently tried Tenaya for the 1st time, and we can't believe we had never gone before. The staff was so friendly, accommodating, and soothing. I felt so relaxed after my massage, all my stress had melted away. Please do yourself a favor and treat your self by booking a reservation at the spa.

Yelp
Alena or Elena was my spa attendant and she did so well focusing on my areas that needed the most attention. She was kind, gentle, and was very respectful. She's very knowledgeable of her craft and leaves you feeling relaxed and happy. She really made this the best spa experience I've ever had. The amenities were great and I felt welcomed to stay and use them as long as I wanted. All the cast members inside were very kind and welcoming. They even gave me a parting gift, a shower steamer!

Yelp
Spa time was not in my planned itinerary in my first trip to Disneyland in seven years but since we were staying at the Grand Californian I figured why not. I had booked a pedicure and later added on a massage until I realized that because of the Oogie Boogie Bash, California Adventure Park would close at 6 PM (hey Disney - please communicate this better with people who are spending $$$$ on their trip) Luckily the gentleman who checked me in allowed me to skip the massage without penalty so I could head to the park just long enough for me to be able to ride the Incredicoaster before they start kicking out regular ticket holders out of the park. My pedicure was wonderful and even more wonderful was Jenny who took great care of me. I had brought headphones to zone out but I didn't put them on because she was a great listener and I enjoyed my conversation with her. After I left I noticed that my pinky toe had smudged nail polish and I went back to see if anyone could quickly fix it. I was told it wouldn't be until the spa closed and I already had evening plans. I would have taken a star off but the spa did call me to let me know i could come in to get it fixed. I appreciated the gesture but we were dining at Napa Rose by then. The customer service re-earned their star. If I am ever at this hotel again I hope to spend more quality time on this spa. Great for relaxing and tending to the many many steps one does at Disneyland.

Yelp
The best and most glamorous pedi of my life! Thank you Martha! The waiting area was so relaxing that I had to be waken up when I was called. Definitely was spoiled with this royal treatment

Yelp
It's a nice small spa. There are not a lot of amenities that are usually available like a sauna or steam room (unavailable). I have been to their spa in Aulani and have to admit it was a little disappointing they didn't have additional amenities they had there like pool access and more variety of snacks. It's a very nice spa but to a Burke Williams or something like that, it didn't offer that. The facial was great but like I listed above, no big amenities. The cost of the facial was 160 and they automatically added 20%. I liked it but plan to check our Glen Ivy or another spa option.

Very high prices and small spa. Staff pleasant. Would not use again. Try for a more spacious spa with expanded services.

Yelp
This is located in the Grand Californian Hotel but not very visible from a central location. You have to navigate around the main level to find this place. It is not next to the Fitness Center as most spas would be located. The staff are friendly and nice. Gift cards for the services offered cannot be purchased here even though it would make sense. You have to go to the main gift store to buy a standard gift card that will allow the user to purchase services that include the Tenaya Stone Spa.

Yelp
Excellent service at Tenaya! I actually had made a call to them about 4 weeks prior to my trip because my boyfriend and I talked about doing a couples massage. We weren't staying at the Grand Californian, but I assumed they'd have a nice spa and since it was walking distance of our hotel, I gave them a call (a couples massage requires a phone call). The woman I spoke with was so delightful and helpful. They appeared to be super booked and she went out of her way to move things around to create an appt for us on the exact day I needed (March 22). Very easy to find within the Lodge as long as you follow the signage. It's right nearby one of the main pools (which was packed!). We walked in and the staff was very welcoming. We were quickly whisked away by a Cast Member who explained the history of the Tenaya Stone. I am Catholic so I didn't partake accepting a stone, but I felt that they do a great job of honoring the Native American tradition. The locker rooms are very nice and spacious. Enough room to place all of your belongings, get dressed and even shower afterwards if needed (with brushes, hairdryer, etc). The relaxation room is amazing. They have mini Evian water bottles and various teas, fruit and snacks. I fell asleep while waiting for my masseuse. The masseuses were very professional and did a great job of making you feel relaxed. They check with you first about the type of pressure you prefer. They give you options of 4 different lotions that they can use. They also give you the options of 3 different soundtracks: a Native American relaxation medley, a Disney instrumental or an acoustic playlist. We went for the Native American playlist since it was already on and I was enjoying it. As much as the Disney instrumental one would have been cool, I think it may have been difficult for me to relax while listening to those songs (just because I'd want to hum/sing along!). Like all massages, they eventually have to come to an end. They welcomed us to go back out into the relaxation lounge and you can stay there as long as you want. We went back out for about 20 minutes before leaving. Also a heads' up that gratuity is already included when you pay the bill. I would love to come back in the future and do the longer massage (ours was only 50 minutes). I'm so glad they were able to squeeze us in!

Yelp
I have been here twice with my 84 year old mother who is in a wheelchair. The staff were incredibly accommodating to allow me to help her on the facial table while still having time to receive my own spa treatment. My mom loved the communication about what was working for her with her technician regarding her comfort. We will wish we could find a spa as accommodating and luxurious in our area.

Yelp
My sister and I booked massages for our parents as a christmas present, and it was worth every penny. The service and attention to detail was spectacular. Both parents came out refreshed and couldn't say enough good things! Take note, if you are buying this as a present or purchasing the pampering for someone else, you can not pay over the phone. They do accept disney gift cards, which is so clever

Yelp
Went for a spa day and this place is the BEST! Had a fantastic massage with Krysta! I was so relaxed I had to nap in the relaxation room. The relaxation room also had these amazing cookies and fruit infused water and some of the softest, most comfortable blankets I'd ever seen! Can't wait until my next trip to Tenaya!

Yelp
Tenaya was the first stop when I got into SoCal after a long day of several delayed flights. Unfortunately I was not able to schedule the appointments and show up at a scheduled time due to ever changing travel plans, but the team at the Disney Resort made magic happen anyway. I showed up with luggage in tow and was warmly welcomed. The team made every attempt to find a suitable way to store two suitcase rollers and somehow made it happen. I booked a much needed massage and before the treatment started I was wowed in more ways than one. Every detail of my spa visit is factored into the cost and there's no skimping at all. Tea, water and light refreshments were available. I recommend the ginger mango green tea. (The tea is from Harney & Sons) The showers, steam room, robes, slippers, and toiletries made the visit so much easier because I didn't need to dig through my travel bags for supplies. Thank you so much Tenaya, you helped alleviate so much stress from an already stressful day. I will be back again and plan to make this spa my first stop after any flight I take to SoCal be it business or vacation.

Yelp
We had a wonderful girl's outing. Very needed down time. A little pricey for what you get, but you pay for the location too.

Yelp
Got a 50 minute massage. Comfy robe. Good massage therapist. Wish there was more spa amenities. Not staying on property. Love that you can pick from sounds or Disney piano.

Yelp
Had two hair appointments with miss Abigail during my trip . She was so amazing ,kind,& did a fantastic job. Made me feel so special! Would highly recommend salon services at the Tenaya stone spa . Thank you miss Abby

Yelp
This is not a 4 - or 5-star spa. If you have a salon appt, you have to wait outside. I had to wait in 55-degree weather with rain. I was 5 mins early. They said thespa was for spa guests. I had a salon appt which is at the spa. They don't offer you ANYTHING to drink. I live in Vegas, and we have world-class spas. This is more like your neighborhood/ holiday inn caliber. It's over priced along with the Grand California hotel.

Yelp
This is a beautiful spa but I have been twice and both times they rescheduled our appointments and it wasn't ideal. Then when I asked (they didn't offer) they gave me a foot treatment which was nice but it happened in the pedicure area next to an 8 year old getting a haircut. Very loud. When I let them know that twice they haven't kept our scheduled appointments I didn't get a great response. I would think twice about spending the money. The message has been that they really don't care much about your time. They probably don't. They are Disney related so I'm sure folks will keep coming.

Yelp
I had an AMAZING spa service with Tatiana as my massage therapist and Adriana as my esthetician. I received the Golden Hearth massage + facial and felt like a queen for that hour and a half. The service is inspired by the landscape and history of California, which includes a 24-karat gold mask and hand blended botanical body oils that evoke the beautiful scents of the super bloom. The fragrances in this service took the overall experience to another level. I have received four different massages at this spa, and while all have been wonderful, this is my favorite. If you're looking for a special ultra luxurious experience to treat yourself or a loved one to, I HIGHLY recommend this! Also, I do want to note the spa is on the smaller side, but what they lack in facility size they make up for with quality of services and the little details (fresh flowers, quality of pastries/beverages ect).

Yelp
The space is new and beautiful. The relaxation lounge had hot tea, spa water, Evian bottles, and cookies to enjoy before/after your treatment. The showers were amazing with multiple shower head settings and plenty of styling toiletries in the locker room. I believe you can book most appointments online but scheduling a couples massage required a call. A 20% gratuity was added to the bill with 18% going to the therapist. I received bath salts as a parting gift before leaving the spa. Service was excellent all around.

Yelp
Not the usual in what happens. Super expensive. And worth every penny. The beginning spiritual section was a bit over the top for me but I'm not big in that to begin with. Others might like it. It's a mood setter. Too chilled out to type any more.

Yelp
The experience and storytelling behind the meaning of the spa was truly amazing. It was such a relaxing experience and the couples signature massage was fantastic! We already are discussing coming back! This was our happiest place on earth.

Yelp
I had the most relaxing and luxurious pedicure of my life today. The spa is serene and beautiful. Martha, my technician, was outstanding. I got the luxury 1.5 hour pedicure and it was so much more than I expected. I also found the price to be reasonable for all they provide, including a snack that fit my strict dietary needs. I highly recommend !!

Yelp
I was super excited about this place. Sadly, this was the worst massage I've ever had. I purchased an 80 minute massage and spent roughly $400 with an automatic 20% tip added. The experience itself was terrible! The spa amenities are very much lacking for the cost.. They have an extremely small locker room, two showers (one being for handicapped) and one very small steam room. It's extremely awkward with how small the locker room is because you're changing within 8 ft of a random person. Once you've changed into your robe you walk into a joint room that is shared with both male and females and then wait for your service. Sitting next to a random male in a robe was also very strange to me. The massage felt like very light "rubs" there was no real effort whatsoever. I've been to many resort style spas and none of them have been this disappointing! Most hotel spas that cost as much as this one have wonderful amenities. For example; a private pool for spa guests, large steam rooms, cold plunge, hot plunge and many showers so you're not waiting your turn. Its normally an all day experience but you can tell at Tenaya Stone spa they just want you in and out so they can cram more people into the schedule. Unfortunately, I walked away feeling very ripped off. I'm writing this review in hopes of preventing another person from also feeling the way I did.
