Where to See the Best Wisteria Blooms in Japan This Spring

"For prime wisteria viewing without an admission fee, head to a public green space like Tennogawa Park in Tsushima, Aichi Prefecture. From the end of April to early May, the park hosts the Owari Tsushima Wisteria Festival, celebrating the short blooming period with food stalls and performances." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Huge park with large fish pond. We had great time enjoying the kodomo matsuri (kids festival). Many Japanese families came to spend time by picnic-ing and playing around with their family members. There was a section full of Wisteria, but at the time we came (early May), the flowers blooming time were finished. It is still beautiful, but I bet when it is full bloom (mid-end April) it must be amazingly glorious 🥰

Although it was a weekday, there were not a few people. It seemed that a lot of petals fell because it rained yesterday. Still, it was really beautiful. It seems that many turtle families live in this park. The children were all excited to see them gathered here and there. Food trucks were at a certain distance in the vacant lot in the back. Because it was a weekday, there were few customers, so the menu was limited.

Nice place. Well staffed in the wysteria bloom period. Beautifully maintained wysteria! Interesting side attractions with something to suit everyone. We visited in late April when the festival was in full swing and it was something special. Especially enjoyed the wonderfully warm reception from the ladies running the tea n cake service under the hanging wysteria. Well done ladies!

Fantastic park. Visited during the Tennogawa Wisteria Festival. Breathtaking. I recommend going in the afternoon for the festival, so you are able to see it during the day, as well as at night when the lanterns/lights are lit.

This rating is based on visiting during the wisteria festival at night... Wow one of the coolest things I've ever seen I think it changed my life

Wisteria was in full bloom. Very pretty. The park also has a very nice water play area for kids.

Every visit brings a surprise. Here if there was an option for 8🌟 I would give it. It's impressive, an island in the middle of the river with a rest area and lots of shade and nature around to relax all day long ❕🙏❤️

These pictures were taken last year and I am looking forward to visit the place again this year.
