Tenuta Zannafondo

Wonderful small place outside Ragusa nestled amongst farms and olive trees and just a short drive to some lovely beaches. We stayed in one of the independent rooms in converted outbuildings situated about 50 metres from the main building where there are a couple of additional rooms and a cosy dining area. All buildings have been beautifully converted and are very comfortable. There is the option to take dinner in the main house which as well as being lovely homemade and reasonably priced food, was also very convenient as you are at least 15 minutes drive from any other restaurants. Breakfast was simple but fantastic, the owners' home made cakes were something to behold! Highly recommended if you want to stay in the beautiful Sicilian interior.

It's in the middle of nowhere but, actually, most accommodation is like that in the area and it adds to the charm of the place. I think it will better appreciated in cooler weather as there are no big trees around. It's a quiet countryside stone setting. Very clean and peaceful. A great variety of cakes at breakfast time. The hosts are kind and helpful. The beach, Modica, Ragusa, Scicli, everything takes about half an hour although the distance is different, it's a matter of type of road.||Beware at night when you drive around. There are few cars on the countryside roads but there are very narrow and there are some uneven parts.

Situated off the main road as many have mentioned but this adds to it's charm, in my opinion.||*||It is a bit difficult to find if you cannot access Wifi for GPS.. (Travel secret - Google Maps will work offline). In any case, to address some of those concerns, print directions ahead of time if you plan on booking. Even though the roads are narrow and not lit, it is one road, pretty direct after turning off main road with the Steakhouse being your landmark.||The owners, Ivana and Elio are quite warm and welcoming. I saw them interacting with other guests, offering help to map out their day. They do have limited English but understand somewhat.||*||The property is laid out Farm Style with the main house, being the office/welcome area and the breakfast area. I do believe there are 2 rooms available in the main house also. Up the road, 2 mins walk along a path, you can find the other rooms. Rooms are spacious, updated and clean. Each room has their own outdoor seated area.||There are numerous loungers and chairs located on the property. All seemed to be strategically placed in shaded area, a much welcome sight on a scolding day. Especially if you enjoy reading a book outdoors or painting. This is what I imagined myself doing LOL.||Saving the best part for last - Wouldn't be a Bed and Breakfast, without talking about the breakfast.. Two Words - Mangia Tutti!!! Ivana serves up a beautiful display of homemade baked cakes and pastries, homemade marmalade, freshly made cappuccino and espresso.||*||It took us 15mins (by car) to get to the Marina di Ragusa which is not bad. ||Cannot wait to visit again.

This accommodation is perfect to disconnect from the world and unwind in the beauty of nature. Rooms were very spacious and clean. Breakfast was great as well. The owner was very friendly.

Stayed two nights in June and the overall experience exceeded our expectations.Lovely clad stone small villas with comfortable bed and large bathroom all surrounded by beautiful flowers and olive trees. Gorgeous breakfast and dinner made home by the lady who owns the place ( wine list to improve) and served by the landlord who is also a very sweet friendly man. Located in the beautiful countryside at 2 miles from beautiful marina di Ragusa and its beautiful beaches, as well as most unesco sites . Strongly recommend to families and couples looking for peace and rest at very reasonable prices.

The place for sleeping and having breakfast or dinner is really excellent. You get into a very quite place. The room is really good, breakfast - excellent and they prepare really good dinner. It was our best dinner we have in sicily, just we could not compare at that time as it was our first dinner. The minus is that in the place itself there is nothing to do, so you just have breakfast and have to travel, but the beach is just 10 minutes by car. But as we had to go back for lunch nap it was not so convenient (we were traveling with 1,5 year old girl). But if we are back to sicily, I would like to come back to this place.

I stayed three nights early in March. Weather was not good enough to make full use of the outside areas - stunning views of the sea and land, and space to watch walnuts growing slowly!!||||Rooms are well equipped and very comfortable. Beds are large and comfortable. My room on the ground #floor did suffer from noise above an next door, but not too much! All is exceptionally clean, and hosts are hospitable. Food at breakfast is fantastic with home made cakes and pastries complemented by chees and meats.||||Wi-Fi is only available in public areas, not in rooms.||||an excellent place to unwind and relax! Perfect place to "retreat" for quiet evenings close to beautiful natural settings and lovely breakfasts on the "veranda", yet just 15 minutes away from a variety of nice seaside villages with their lovely beaches. You do need a car, obviously.|We really enjoyed the location, the facilities (tasteful modern restoration of old buildings) and the friendly, helpful and unintrusive owners. Definitely recommended!
