Popped in for lunch before a flight out of JFK airport. Tasty food. Authentic Mexican taste and ambiance. Fairly small spot with not much indoor seating but a fair amount on the back patio. Minimal parking on site, but plenty of street parking. Margaritas were very good. Prices were average. Altogether a good lunch experience with family.

First let me say I would give 3½ ⭐'s but Google doesn't give a ½ star option. This was only our 2nd visit in 2 years. We weren't overly impressed the 1st time but to be fair they had just opened and were probably still working some kinks out. Tonight we were in the area and decided to give it another chance. The service while EXTREMELY friendly wasn't overly attentive. I found myself looking for our waitress several times which I couldn't understand since there were only 3 other tables seated. We enjoyed our drinks and food although our tableside guacamole was a little salty for our liking so make sure you specify light or no salt if that's a concern. We also weren't happy that they serve brightly colored red and green tortilla chips ... looks pretty but we don't eat anything with unhealthy food dye so we only ate the undyed chips. For entrees we ordered the enchiladas Rojas and the Roasted cauliflower and poblano fajita. Everything was DELICIOUS! The poblano peppers in the fajita were super mild which was fine since that can't be controlled at all but I really wanted some heat 🔥 so I asked for a little hot sauce ... the sauce I was given although very flavorful was not hot at all either. ☹ *Over all it was mostly a pleasant dining experience and we would definitely go back again and recommend it to others.

This place is a hidden gem. They are always super accommodating to our request. We have a large group of family and they always get our orders right. The owner is very nice, the food is excellent, the prices are very affordable, the service is outstanding and very clean. We will continue to come back.

We came from Florida to visit family and we found another family at Tepache. The food and pricing at excellent. The staff treatment was outstanding and the boss was there to greet us. We were a group of 14. Now that we are returning to Florida, had to go back to Tepache. Bring your family here for breakfast, brunch or dinner!!! You won’t regret it. They personalized the desert. I am so upset at myself that I did not know about this restaurant sooner. It's quite literally in my backyard! My family is visiting and leaving tomorrow so I wanted to send them off with a BANG - decided to Google Mexican Restaurants near me and chose TEPACHE. Well, let me tell you - from the moment we entered the door to being greeted, seated, drinks (decided to trust the server's recommendations), entrees, and dessert; it was just wonderful! The atmosphere was quite literally CLEAN, LIGHT, and WELCOMING. Our server was so sweet and answered our queries about the menu, making suggestions which turned out uo be DELICIOUS! Prices are reasonable and the service is stellar. I highly recommend this hidden gem.❤️💛💚🖤🤍

Excellent Mexican Cuisine, the food was very good, The drinks to die for, I recommend Chamoy Mangos Madness, great taste sweet but strong also the Margarita Spicy Cucumber 🥒 Margarita...perfect taste for both drinks, I had the Enchiladas Rojas , very good choice and very good portion, Definitely worth to brink a date or have a wonderful time, they are also family friendly kids meal with Ice cream, The staff were very friendly and professional, Parking spaces, also has an outdoors dinning but it's closed due to the winter weather ❄️. So yes I recommended this place in a nice area located in Melbourne/Valley stream area.

Everything was fantastic! Food was delicious and fresh with a ton a flavor. Our drinks were perfect and packed a punch 💪The service was friendly and fast. Very clean restaraunt; I would highly recommend the NY strip steak 👌 the spinach and mashed potatoes pair really well 👍the tacos were also delicious. Definitely worth checking out!!

Cute hole in the wall type of restaurant! Very warm and inviting when you get inside. Bright colors, beautiful bar & decor. Food was great. Only downside is that it took some time but overall worth it! Friendly staff! Would come back again!

Went here for ladies night, the staff was very friendly the food and drinks were delicious, I highly recommend and will definitely return!!

The food was very good and the decor was very nice. The service was terrible and had to wait at least an hour to get the food after ordering. There is out door sitting which is very nice but it wasn't open the day I went. Also they messed up the paying and put the wrong amount of money on someone else's card

I had been to Tepache once before but this time came to try the happy hour. They have great deals with both food and drinks with multiple selections. The vibes in the restaurant are nice and our bartender was super attentive and nice, the drinks were also great! He made the experience a 10/10. We also shared the nachos which were delicious. They give you chips and salsa when you walk in as well. I 100% recommend !!

The yelp advice paid off! Walking into this restaurant and seeing the vibrant colors and decorations, I knew this was an authentic Mexican restaurant. We were greeted and seated. They can improve on service. Lemon was ordered for the table and it arrived by a second request, the water was not replenished unless requested, and the lady taking the order failed to get the order correct and failed to take ownership, instead blamed us and says we ordered one steak fajitas. We started with a beautiful array of chips symbolizing a flag. The salsa was spicy so we ordered mild. I ordered the chimichanga. I can tell it was spicy because my nose started to run and I began to sweat. We both ordered the steak fajitas. They were very filling and delicious. There is someone mixing guacamole at a mobile guacamole bar as an appetizer that was quite interesting as I have never seen how guacamole is made. If my server would have told us the routine for the guacamole, I would have irdered. The owner/ manager came around and visited each guest and thanked us for coming! This is a definite must try. They have Taco Tuesday of course and happy hours for those that are asking " Where's the libation!!! All the while we were here. It's been busy.

Just went back again, After my last review, and the music was turned up load outside.. food was great as usual. Service outstanding as usual.

We waited 20 minutes until the waiter finally came to take our order. Once taken, we waited another 35 minutes to get our food. That was a total of 55 minutes before eating. We constantly had to get the waiter's attention. We got 2 tacos, one salad, two chicken fingers, a quesadilla, water and paid more than $100. That's seems a lot for a Sunday afternoon, so little food, and little attention from the waiter! I was looking for a good experience from a restaurant close to home!

I came here with some friends for happy hour. Typically they have happy hour at the bar only but we did call in advance to see if there would be space and there wasn't but they accommodated us and put us in the back room. The staff is very nice and continued to check up on us. The restaurant had a very homey family owned feel to it so I was surprised to hear it's relatively new. Honestly I only got apps so I can only comment on that but I really enjoyed it. The nachos were really good and so were the mini chimis. I also enjoyed the mini quesadilla. We also had their empanadas and to me those were just ok but I don't particularly care for corn flour. We also tried their tres leches cake for dessert which was also good. I would definitely revisit.

Love the food! Get the guacamole. They make it on the spot. The tacos and margaritas are superb. Get the fried avocado taco. Yum. This is a great place to go with friends. The service is good and they dont rush you out.

The small restaurant is like a trip to Mexico! The service was great, bless them for taking us close to closing! The food was delicious: (1) Ceviche: Amazing! Sweet tangy fresh, great with plantain and did not skimp on large shrimps (2) Fiesta Del Mar: Seafood Lovers Dream! Amazing, the seafood was perfect cooked and sauce and rice went well together. Devoured it in seconds!!! Will come again

There aren't many GOOD Mexican restaurants on Long Island, Tepeche is my new favorite. They have been open for less than a year, I went 2 weeks in a row got taco Tuesday and it did not disappoint. Parking lot in back. Quick, friendly service! Large menu, everything looks good so hard to choice. For appetizers def go with the table side guac which is not on the menu, the bao buns are also really good, I didn't love the ceviche as it is made in a tomato based sauce. All the tacos were good, my group had the steak, shrimp, avacado, fish, and birria. Birria is a little salty and the dipping juice is way too thick, I would pass on that one. My favorite dish is the shrimp al fuego, if you like spicy food then definitely try this dish. The chimichurri chicken is also very good. Margaritas and churros are also a must when at a Mexican restaurant, Tepeche does a good job at both

The service was excellent, all of the waiters and folks at the front were super nice! Extremely attentive. The food was ok. Just wish it had a bit more taste or flavorful. But it was something different around the area.

Wow! It is very rare that I use that word. Tapache blew us away. Started with perfectly made Guac, most places miss the salt in Guac, not here. Then on to a great Mexican shrimp cocktail followed by two of the best taco's I have ever eaten. All of the people at the table had exceptional food, and drinks. Service was on point, and a very cool atmosphere. The owner spent some time with us, very nice guy. We'll be back!

First time here last night with a friend. Will be back. Fish tacos yummy Salad with steak tasty Flan - creamy - wish we didn't share it cause I could have ate it all and I'm not into dessert Churros - can't go wrong.

Came here for a quick lunch with my mom and sister and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and drink. I ordered a passion fruit margarita and a coconut margarita and it had me feeling nice. I appreciated that a lot. I ordered a Baja fish taco and the birria taco and they were really good. They also give chips with salsa in the beginning and the salsa was very tasty and with a mild spice to it. Overall, I would def add this to my go to list of places to go to when I want a quick meal especially for drinks.

Looking for excellent Mexican food, in a beautifully decorated dining room, with great service as well as authentic Mexican music playing while you dine? If so, then Tepache is the place for you. We stopped In for lunch and ordered a cheese quesadilla with chicken. It was prepared perfectly and delivered to our table promptly. Next, we order the chicken fajitas and Baja tacos. Both entrees were excellent. With our meal we order the spicy margarita and that too was delicious. Our waiter, Saul, was friendly and attentive. All we can say is if you're looking for great Mexican food - go no further - go to Tepache!

New restaurant in the neighbourhood. Was excited for a Mexican restaurant close by. It used to be an Italian restaurant most recently, but they were able to redo it Mexican style very well I ordered the Cadillac margarita, which was in a whiskey glass filled with ice. The good ole days of Mexican styles Margaritas in the "proper" glass is over. Now you get very little beverage with no salt in a whiskey glass. I guess that is the new normal. It was not a bad drink, just not much. It took quite some time for the waiter to take our order, and considering it wasn't busy at 6:30 on a Friday I was surprised. We ordered the guacamole and shrimp fajita. They made the guacamole in front of us. It was good. The shrimp fajita was decent, although I found the shrimp tone unseasoned, tasteless really. It wasn't bad overall, classic Mexican. I will certainly return at some point, to support the neighborhood restaurant and enjoy the outdoor seating with friends. I am happy to have a close by option.

Last night was our second visit to Tepache. We were impressed both times both by the food and the service. Friendly staff, amazing tacos of all sorts, great enchiladas, will definitely continue to go back whenever bitten by the Mexican bug!

8 months young and family owned ! Pretty decor feel of Mexico . Started w guacamole which was delicious ! Ordered a skinny margarita, looks beautiful? Was the worst skinny margarita I've ever had . Alls you taste is tequila and orange juice. I'm not a drinker at all, but I do know this is not a skinny margarita. Now the food. Both entrees was excellent , fresh and full Of flavor . The staff was very on hand and stopped by multiple Times. Definitely a must try .

This place recently opened after being an Italian restaurant for a long time. They have freshened up the place with some bright colors and decorations. While parking in the parking lot we noticed some outdoor seating. Upon entering the restaurant we found the front seating music playing too loud. We asked if we could sit in the back where it would be more quiet and they graciously turned down the speakers in that room. We ordered a steak and a fish taco with a beer and a mixed drink to start off with, followed by a mixed seafood platter and chicken mole. The tacos were okay but not worth the price they charge. However they would be worth it if you came on Tuesday when all the tacos are $4 each. The chicken mole had a nice spice to it while the seafood platter was tiny and not worth the $30 they charge. The beer was appropriately priced at $8 while the spicy cucumber margarita was definitely overpriced at $16. Overall a mediocre meal at an exceptionally high price. I would not go back nor would I recommend this restaurant.

Their grand opening is tonight but I couldn't wait any longer so I went for lunch and it was delicious!! From the salsa that is served with chips, to the chicken fajita I had and the amazing ending with gluten free chocolate cake, oh my word!!! So good!!! My friend for the Tapache bowl and she loved it! Their drinks, just right and their staff, amazing. The owners stopped by our table and were so welcoming. I def highly recommend!!

We just ate at Tepache and enjoyed everything about it. The service by Andres and Camillo was top notch. The food was delicious. The Barbacoa and chicken mole were outstanding. The cocktails were great. Loved the colorful ambiance. Can't wait to go back. Good luck to the owner Pablo!!

Loved this place. Kitschy but simple decor with art deco touches. Friendly, fast, professional service. We ordered only some fries and the spinach artichoke dip and a couple of beers. The fries were hot and crispy-crunchy; so good. Spinach artichoke dip was the best we've had anywhere. Beers were ice cold. Wish we lived closer; we'd be regulars!

It was my first time there,the host is very welcoming, parking is difficult if there lot is full , didn't receive chips and salsa as I seen every table around me get some I had to ask them twice for some , got the bai nap buns nothing special, the buns were cold , the yuca fries were cold not impressed by them at all, black bean soup just seemed like a can of beans in a bowl nothing to them , i ordered two tacos as my entree my husband got his plate first and pretty much done while my tacos hadn't arrived yet , when my tacos finally arrived they were cold . My Diet Coke was flat . Got seated in the back room not much ambiance there, a lot of people walk thru there to get to the parking lot, besides the owner being so friendly I wouldn't go back

I was really excited to come here since there aren't very many Mexican restaurants that have Chile Rellenos ("Poblano Rellenos" - same diff)... So we decided to give this a try. It was my Birthday - why not! With all the 5 star reviews how could Yelp steer me wrong? Well, unfortunately Yelp, you gone did me wrong. First off, the menu.. maybe I've just been spoiled growing up in LA with Mexican Food, so my expectations were high, but adjustable considering where we are. Where were the Carnitas? Bao? Oh no.. I was starting to regret my dining choice for the night. Ok.. no big deal - big deep breath, let's move on.. I ordered the Poblano Rellenos, my husband ordered the Shrimp Fajitas. On to drinks... Can't go wrong right? Wait - Sangria? Where am I?! Ok.. breathe.. you know what, why not... Let's go for the White Sangria..*drinks come to the table...sip..* oh. Hmmm... Orangina? Disappointment starting to set in... Dinner comes - great! We are starving! My husband's fajitas are QUIET - meaning, "Aren't fajitas supposed to sizzle on the plate? How long was this out??". Next came my Chilie Rellenos.. I'm sorry, my ONE Chile and bell peppers covered in cheese and onions. The rice was so pale it would have been good with that Bao Taco. Beans? Completely tasteless. Well maybe dessert would hold some promise. My husband asked how the Tres Leches cake was and was told it was excellent. They sang Happy Birthday to me, made me wear a sombrero, and candle with the tres leches cake. The cake was so dry it should have just been called cake, no leches. It tasted like Betty Crocker out of the box... Now the check... As others have mentioned, there are two prices - one cash, one credit. They also add the whole 20% for parties of 5 or more. Fine, I don't agree with it, but when I looked at the items we were charged - we were charged $7 for my birthday slice. Really?!?! With our other three friends, we spent over $300!!!!!! Oh no... This is the last time we are coming here. I completely understand that the restaurant industry is competitive and you need to stand apart from all the rest, but it just seemed like they are trying to please EVERYONE and the quality is suffering. Its a tough Industry and all the best, but I just didn't like it. One redeeming quality was our server (Henry) who was awesome - shout out to him.

We were in the neighborhood and decided to stop for dinner. Came across this restaurant. To our surprise we had learn it was a new restaurant. The food was delicious! Everything we had was well seasoned and cooked to our liking. The staff were very nice. The location had such a simple but yet nice feel and look. I'm already trying to go again.

Food is authentic and so delicious! Everything is made with much love and attention- always fresh and amazing! I get my order to go more than dining in, and everything is packed up so securely, with cutlery, napkins, extra sauces. Wonderful place and the owners make you feel like family! The restaurant itself has such a fun atmosphere and you know you will have an amazing dining experience, especially if you get the guacamole prepared at your table!

Tepache is a favorite go to for a relaxed fun evening with our friends or just the 2 of us on a date night! Their Happy Hour is awesome with great prices on drinks & a lot of yummy apps on the HH Menu! The staff is friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is cheerful and comfortable!

We went for dinner this evening with my family. We were greeted and sat immediately. Water and chips and salsa hit the table right away. The waiter was super friendly and helpful. The food arrived it was hot and was really delicious! Try the dessert sampler, there were 5 of us and we all split it. Tres Leches and Flan were to die for. We will definitely be back.

Service was friendly and accommodating. The food was plentiful and tasty. My mom had the bean soup, excellent! I had enchiladas. Still great the next day.

We were looking for a Mexican place at the last minute and decided to give this spot a try. We thought the food was great and the drinks were on point. Service was prompt and even one of the owners stopped by our table to see how our experience was going. If you getting the Bao Buns definitely get the pork belly! The back patio area was relaxing and had a nice breeze for a warm day. We will definitely be back again.

A good friend recommended my wife and I go to Tepache in Valley Stream. Since my wife was in the mood for Mexican food, we decided to try it. We had a 7:15 reservation which they honored without a problem. The food and the service were beyond excellent. The owner walks around from table to table talking to all the patrons and makes sure everything is all right. The food is delicious and the service was above and beyond. This restaurant is a Mexican Gem.

We finally had the chance to try this new local spot and my only regret is not going sooner. The food was so delicious- I wish I had 5 extra stomachs to try the entire menu in one sitting. To have a spot with a nice outdoor area to kick back, relax, enjoy a sangria while waiting for your food - what a gem to have so close to home. For those that have complained about the cost - aside from the fact that the food was delicious, the portion size is well worth the cost for each dish. We were so full even after our appetizer (not pictured - we had the mini burritos) - we had leftovers to take home, which we had for lunch yesterday. Even our child, who is one of the pickiest eaters, enjoyed the food. She shared the salmon fajitas with her father and gave it a thumbs up. Although my only suggestion might be to add a few items to the menu - cheese empanadas perhaps? Maybe a kid size portion of salmon? Otherwise, 2 thumbs up from the child. I should also add, that for vegetarians, there are plenty of options. Next time I intend to try the impossible chorizo enchiladas and will report back. We definitely will be going back and look forward to doing so. Go here - you won't be disappointed! Buen provecho!

Went to Tepache last week for the 1st time. It was pretty good. I had fajitas chicken, shrimp and steak. Service was good. My margarita was excellent. Service was good. While the food was pretty good, it wasn't as delish as my regular Mexican spot. Also, for a local spot I felt if I'm going to spend upwards of $100 for just a local spot I might go somewhere else next time. While pretty good, it seemed a bit pricey. The ambiance was comfy. I would go back in the summer bc the outdoor dining looked like a vibe.

We finally got to eat here today for lunch. The restaurant is beautifully decorated; service was great, food & cocktails were delicious! Our group had the empanadas, tacos, Tepache salad. For drinks we had traditional margaritas and I had a Paloma; all were delicious, we will be back for dinner soon!

Great happy hour - apps, drinks & service all wonderful. Idk if it's owner or manager but came up to my friends & I to ask how everything was. 2nd time there & will be back again!

My partner and I wanted to try a new place for some tacos and Tepache did not disappoint. The atmosphere was very nice. I enjoyed the music playing it was at the right volume. We tried the Sweet Corn Tamalitos as a starter they were delicious! I had the 2 Chicken Carnitas and my partner had 2 Quesabirria, we both enjoyed our tacos. The flavor and portions were perfect. The tortillas did not fall apart either. For dessert we ordered Cinnamon Sugar Dusted Churro Bites w/ Cajeta Dipping Sauce which was a perfect ending for our meal. Staff was super friendly and attentive. We had a great first time experience. Can't wait to go back to try some of the cocktails!
