Loved our 2-nights stay at Tepanee Resort. We stayed at the ocean view villa facing the shark sanctuary. Beautiful views, well maintained gardens and beaches. I admire how Tepanee prioritizes marine conservation. The sanctuary is well protected, there is staff that ensures visitors are compliant to the rules and marine protection is maintained. Staff very responsive to my email enquiries, they arranged our private transfers from Cebu City to Malapascua and my dive trips. Very hassle-free and efficient. They're also warm, welcoming, and helpful around the resort. Our room was nice and cozy, the ocean view was top notch! We had enough space for 3 adults. Breakfast is included in the booking, good variety of food on offer. Definitely recommend this resort and will stay here again if I get the chance to come back.

Superb location with stunning views and the relaxing sound of the sea. The baby shark sanctuary was an unforgettable snorkeling experience, there were plenty to see! The rooms were decent, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, great value for money. If I had to suggest improvements, I’d mention the low quality of the soaps and the limited healthy options at breakfast, a bit more variety would be appreciated.

My wife and I, along with some of our friends had a fantastic stay at Tepanee Beach Resort. Everything from making our reservation, to our pickup and drop off went flawlessly. We arranged our complete transfer from and to Cebu City with the resort, to make things much easier for our group. The resort is well appointed, with comfortable rooms, well-manicured grounds and fantastic restaurants. They also have a gym and a spa for those that wish to indulge in those activities. The staff at Tepanee are very friendly and always helpful. Their small beachfront is a protected area, which serves as a nursery to baby Blacktip Reef Sharks. Other fish and critters can be seen as well, while snorkeling there. The resort also set up a dive package for us with Malapascua Thresher Divers (MTD Dive shop). It was very convenient, as the dive shop picked us up from a small beach behind the resort. All and all we had a wonderful week in Malapascua at Tepanee resort. We have already booked our return visit for next year.

WOW!! Such a beautiful resort! And the staff was so so friendly and helpful! My group and I spent 8 days and 7 nights at Tepanee Beach Resort and it was AMAZING!! The reception/ front desk staff of Daryl, Rovelyn, Rhona, Joy and Lorgina went above and beyond to help make sure everything went smoothly! They were so sweet and helpful, I can't say enough good things about them!! The rest of the resort staff was always smiling and happy to help with anything we needed. Our group felt safe and relaxed throughout our entire stay. ||The spa was great and the massages were fantastic! We all took advantage of the spa multiple times throughout our stay.||Amihan Restaurant was beautful and had a wonderful and eclectic mix of options from Italian, Filipino and American cuisine and more. I ordered the pork adobo and the carbonara more than once and would order them again in a heartbeat! ||There is a small lagoon located directly in front of the resort with coral, clownfish and baby black tip reef sharks. There are rules they have in place to increase conservation efforts and I really liked that! ||Overall the resort and staff get a 11/10 from me and my group! I highly recommend Tepanee Beach Resort. The resort is beautiful and the amenities were fantastic but the people there are what makes it extra special!

Book your stay here, you will not be disappointed!!! A group of us traveled to Malapascua from the US and we would all stay at Tepanee Beach Resort again without a second thought! The property is absolutely beautiful! You can walk from your room to the beach in less than a minute. The property sit rightin front of a lagoon with coral, clown fish and baby black tip reef sharks!!! The rooms are fantastic! The rooms are super clean and have great AC, private bathrooms, great hot water, in room mini fridges and small safes to keep your belongings. There are 2 restaurants on site and both are great with an eclectic mix of food from Italian(the owners are Italian), Filipino and American cuisines. The spa is great and the cost of a massage is unreal!!! Everyone in my group got multiple massages during our 8 day 7 night stay. What sets this place above others is the staff. SO SO FRIENDLY!!! The reception staff of Darlyn, Rovelyn, Rhona, Lorgina and Joy take this place from a 10/10 to an 11/10!!! They greeted us with a cold drink when we arrived and gave us a helpful orientation of the properties and amenities and had all our luggage delivered to our rooms so it was there when we were finished. They were always there to help with any questions or assist us foreigners with anything we needed to help make our stay extra special. If you want a beautiful property to stay at with great food, fantastic amenities and the friendliest staff on Malapascua Island, Tepanee Beach Resort is for you!

Beautiful location overlooking the little bay with juvenile black tip sharks. Our room had a balcony with stunning view of the sunset. Room spacious enough, aircon wasn't working but was fixed.||Breakfast from the restaurant also had amazing view over port, decent variety although all cold (eggs, bacon etc). No milk for coffee, tea, just milkpowder.||I tried to book diving in advance through their recommended dive centre (MTD) by sending emails and whatsapps which remained unanswered. Dived with TSD which was 3 min walk and can highly recommend them. ||My wife enjoyed the snorkeling at resort and relaxing on the loungers underneath big trees while I was diving. Please note that you are not allowed to just go for a swim at the beach in front of the resort as you need to be "snorkeling" in the sanctuary. And they police this very strictly. For swimming you need to use the beach in front of the next resort which was not really a problem for us.||One big plus point is that the resort always responded promptly via email before the visit, they also arranged our taxi from Cebu City.||Our biggest disappointment was that our trip to Kalagaman island book through the resort were cancelled twice the mornings we were supposed to go, which was very inconvenient. Only explanation offered was that the captain was drunk because of the fiesta and the other time because of the election. I got the impression they wanted us to take a private tour instead. No alternatives offered or trying to rebook us with another operator. I requeated to speak to the manager who was apperenrly not available. The second time it was cancelled we spoke to a few places outside the resort who immediately recommend visting Carnaza and Lamanoc islands which were a bit closer, cheaper and stunningly beautiful. See pics.||Make sure to visit the port area at the back of the resort for unbeatable sunsets from the beach while enjoying a cocktail. We also did a snorkeling trip around the island booked through resort which is highly recommend not for the snorkeling as much but for visiting North beach which is stunningly beautiful.||So all in all a good place to stay although the staff were not that helpfull or friendly as in other resorts we stayed in Phillipines before.

A really lovely destination and a great way to finish off our three weeks in The Philippines. We stayed in the Seaview rooms and the view and ambiance is exceptional. The snorkling in the Marine protected area is such fun and the kids loved it. They played on the beach in front of Blanco and this worked well as you could see them from the loungers in Tepanee. I had worried about that. The staff in Chiringuito and around the resort are lovely and I really enjoyed the straight forward nature of the breakfast. Eggs and nice coffee ordered and a buffet of some cakes/granola/ fruit/ yoghurt. It also had a few Filipino dishes and bacon or sausage rotated.

The good:|- Perfect location: very quiet, on the other side of a hill so sounds from beach bars don't reach the rooms. It's especially apparent when you walk from the room to the beach in the evening: after you cross the summit you start hearing music from beach bars / restaurants, ones you didn't hear close to the room.|- Quiet air conditioner: not very strong but sufficient for the room.|- Decent-sized (not a small minibar type) and quiet (!) fridge, we for example bought fruits and stored them in it.|- Basically nothing disturbs your sleep when in the room (except possibly your partner? ;-).|- The real hidden gem is hotel's private beach, snorkeling on it you can see plenty of baby reef sharks!!! I saw maybe about 12 at the same time. Pro tip: don't swim too fast or too much, actually move your hands and feet as little as possible, otherwise you'll scare the sharks. Just get to the right place (a bit further out from the shore, near the rope) and wait a bit. Sharks will come. And don't swim in the area to the right of the entrance limited by rope, it's an area reserved only for the sharks. Instead, hold on to the rope so that you don't need to move and don't scare sharks away.|- Nearby hotel Blanco Beach Resort has a very good restaurant next to the Tepanee's private beach, and this restaurant serves very tasty food and fresh juices.|- Soft, comfortable beds (memory foam but it's fine).|- Nice furnuture, room had a work table.|- Good WiFi.|- Hotel is built on a hill so you can save up on gym - just walking to / from your bungalow will burn enough calories ;-) (11) Views from this hill and the partner restaurant are breath-taking.|| Issues: only small ones, none of these presented problems for us, but FYI:|- Rooms have wooden floors and they are creaky! One person just walking in the room can wake up another person sleeping. Also people on the first floor in 2-floor bungalows can hear people walking on the second floor.|- Air conditioner blows directly on to the bed, so it's often cold when turned on and hot when turned off. I dealt with this by almost closing the vent manually so that air goes directly down.|- Strange policy: you need to show the credit card used to book the hotel during check-in, like they try to combat fraud. This is a thing some airlines (rarely) do, but I've never seen this in a hotel. The card I used was a virtual card so it doesn't exist in physical form, but they accepted seeing the card in my bank application.|- Reception has a sign "water refill" but there is no water refill there actually, so if 1 liter of free drinking water per day is not enough you'll need to buy bottles of water from mini-bar at 80 PHP per bottle (inflated price obviously).|- Hotel's partner restaurant used for breakfasts and dinners, called Amihana, is let's say below average, food is not very tasty.|- If you (as most people) come there for diving, one important thing to consider is the distance from your hotel to the dive shop. You will need to walk to and from your chosen dive shop every day, often on sand (I don't think most dive shops offer pick ups), often early in the morning. This hotel is in one corner of the island, so distance to dive shops on the other side might be too large to be comfortable, make sure you check the distance when you make plans.|- At most times (except high tides) they forbid to swim/snorkel on the beach without fins (because there are stones / sea urchins close to shore), you need either to have your own fins or to rent from them.

Yelp
Wonderful one week stay at the best resort in the island. Sylvia and her staff made our stay a relaxing one. The vibe at Tepanee is super relaxing. We got a superior cottage and the view from our room is outstanding, I can only imagine the view from their deluxe room which wasn't available at the time we booked (there will always be next time). The resort is located walking distance to the port and a short walk to other restaurants and bars so it's definitely convenient. One thing that sets the resort apart is the marine life in front of the resort where you can see lots of fishes and baby sharks too! The spa in the resort also did not disappoint as the ladies did a great job with their massage. Their restaurant/bar Chiringuitos is also a nice place to get some drinks at night. Overall 5/5 would recommend this place and would stay here again.

Yelp
Malapascua is a nice island which also means many places have a higher price if you want good value. The price for the value in Tepanee was very reasonable. The room actually it is mostly separate bungalows we had was not beachfront, but still in a nice setting and very new. Everything was perfect clean inside the room, but also the surroundings were kept very clean. The small but very nice decorated bathroom had hot water in the shower. The water smells a bit, but this is something i guess not within the control of the hotel. The only thing missing in the bathroom was soap, toothbrush, toothpaste like provided in nearly all places in that price range. Main room had a new quiet splitter aircon and a ceiling fan. Safe is provided in the room. A small balcony is just in front of each bungalow. No swimming pool and no diveshop are within the resort or attached to the resort. So one needs to take a short walk to the main strip. Check in was fast and without any problem. They have their own small private sand beach and are dog friendly. The place is also perfect for swimming since the beach has 2 areas. One of them has always flat water. We did not try the attached Amihan restaurant. Tepanee is also very close to the public pier. Closer than any other resorts. So all in all a very good place with only minor things missing.
