I definitely DON'T recommend the all-inclusive tour. It's way overpriced for what you get. I wouldn't even recommend the distillery tour either, really, since the tour takes about 3 hours, 2 of which consist of standing around waiting for your turn for a 10-minute explanation. The tour wasn't very informative and not at all engaging, so honestly I would skip it. They didn't even give us any tastings (unless you wanted to drink it out of the palm of your hand - as offered by my tour guide who didn't have any cups)
At nearly 4000 pesos/person I thought I was splurging on a special experience, but ended up feeling extremely ripped off, as they fell far short of expectations. In my research before booking, I turned to instagram to get an idea of what to expect, and saw pictures and videos of beautiful drinks and snacks. While the attached picture explains what you get with the full experience, please allow me to translate it into reality for you:
"Canapés" = 1/4 ham sandwich and a coin-sized cuernito sandwich (1 of each for the 2 hour train ride.)
"Cocteles preparados con tequila" = tequila mixed with your choice of fresca or coca cola
Coffee is not offered with your meal, despite it being included on the website
Botanas = small plate of plain chips for the 2-hour train ride back
It says that water is included, but I think that's subjective. I asked for a bottle 5 minutes into the train ride home and they had run out.
The meal was ok, but they're preparing food for a large group, so it was pretty generic and you don't get to choose anything. You could definitely eat better somewhere else, for cheaper and choose your own meal that is made to order.
The town of Tequila is worth the visit though! So full of traditional charm, artisan markets, and bar stands where you can get tequila drinks in cantaritos for 100-200 pesos. You get to pick which tequila you want AND keep the cantarito! Probably still worth it to take the train to/from tequila, but I'd avoid the other options.
