Tequila’s Mexican Grill & Cantina offers a fun, flavorful dining experience with vibrant décor and a welcoming vibe. The shrimp enchiladas were delicious, and the chips and salsa hit the spot. Service was friendly, though a bit slow during peak hours. Our server was kind but seemed stretched thin, which slightly impacted the overall flow. Still, the upbeat atmosphere and tasty food made up for it. The outdoor patio is a great bonus, especially for enjoying drinks on a breezy evening.

Last night, we had a great experience at this Mexican restaurant! The service was very nice — our waitress was attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. The food was also very good. I highly recommend the chicken nachos; they were a real standout. I ordered the Trio Fajitas, and for the most part, it was excellent. The steak was a little over-charred, but the rest of the dish made up for it — the chicken and shrimp were delicious. My girlfriend had the Quesadilla Fajitas, and she absolutely loved it. We also took advantage of the happy hour, which was amazing. I had two margaritas — one passionfruit and one strawberry — and both were fantastic. All in all, I’ll definitely be coming back. I’m looking forward to trying more items on the menu!

The Best Mexican Restaurant in Town! Amazing food (10/10) and delicious drinks, plus an all-day happy hour! The staff is super friendly, attentive, and always making sure you have everything you need. Definitely a must-visit!

We happened across this restaurant after my son's high school graduation and we're not familiar with this establishment. The food by far exceeded our expectations and was some of the best Mexican food we have ever had. Everyone was very friendly, the place was very clean and even though it was a bit dark, it was refreshing (break from the heat). I would definitely come here again, more so if I lived a bit closer, but this place is a gem!

Our first time here and highly recommend this restaurant. Their Taco Tuesday specials were excellent and the food was delicious. Our server was Dalia and she was very friendly, attentive and provided exceptional service. We sat on the outside dining area and enjoyed listening to live music. They were very busy and service was very efficient.

The Big Beautiful Burrito 🌯 😍 Ask for Angel (he's amazing BTW) and he will tell you all about it. It's not on the menu, but he's got the secret to getting it. This thing was amazing, delicious and HUGE!!!! Love love LOVE that my 2 pups were openly welcomed inside from the brutal heat 🥵 thank you for the amazing service, food and open door puppy policy.

The food was good. Happy hour ago. One margarita I get another one for free is good, but when somebody ordered some dish, the smoke is Everywhere, and you’re clothes. Smells like a Food after that.

Boyfriend and I decided to give it a shot and we LOVED it. Drinks are made perfectly, food was delicious and service was awesome. We ended up coming a second night how much we enjoyed this place. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.

Stopped in for a frozen Margarita at the bar. Tayo whipped two up and they were tasty! After a few sips we decided to head outside to enjoy the cool spring afternoon. While sipping our rita, Angel, server, asked if we needed anything and on this visit we told him no. A short while later we flagged Angel down to obtain a menu and at his suggestion, we ordered the beef and chicken nachos. Excellent dish, excellent service and great conversation. Angel is from Venezuela. He told us the town where he's from but the Margarita's were kicking in about then. Angel was fun to talk too. A good time was had by all.

I saw that Tequila's was going to start having a Lotería night every Thursday on Facebook, put on by Timeless Entertainment and had to check it out. Lotería is like Mexican Bingo and is so much fun! We even won prizes. It was my first time dining at Tequila's and playing Lotería. When I walked into the restaurant I was so impressed with the amazing vibe, upscale decor, fantastic music and friendly servers. The menu was enormous and had so many yummy sounding drinks and dinners to choose from that it was hard to decide. It was also happy hour. Our server brought out warm chips and salsa, and I decided to order an amazing Frozen Margarita and Sangria Swirl.The others in my party got a mojito, beer and a spicy Margarita. I ordered a vegetable quesadilla with rice and refied beans. The others ordered Carnitas Tequilas Burrito and the dish with four different enchiladas. Everything was so delicious that we returned the following Thursday for Lotería and dinner. It is such a fun Thursday night tradition!

They accept reservations which was great during a night of a concert. Food was fast & very delicious. Drinks a bit on the high side but mixed well.

Awesome chips, thin, served hot with flavorful salsa. Decided on the pick 2 combo $15.75, choosing shredded beef burrito roped with sauce and cheese, and shredded chicken tostado, rice and beans. The side beans were disappointing, watery and tasteless. The shredded beef filling and shredded chicken filling were good. Drink special was 2 for one house margarita $12.99 was gigantic...seriously 3 huge glasses that I couldn't finish.

We had an amazing time at Tequila's last night. We chose outside dining, since it was a pleasant night. The only concern I have during the summer is that the tables and chairs will get to hot, since they are heavy metal. As soon as we were seated we were brought chips and salsa. Which were delicious, and we ordered the trio, queso, Guacamole and pico. Excellent choice. The server gave us plenty of time to decide what we wanted as entrees. Which was greatly appreciated. Even though we had to wait quite a bit, once the food was served, everyone was very happy with their choice. For me, you know a good Mexican restaurant on the taste of the salsa and refried beans, which were excellent. The house margaritas had plenty of tequila in them and were delicious. Definitely will go back and recommend to anyone who is visiting or is a local. Downtown is always a great time.

Slow service granted it was cinco de mayo but over 3 hours for food is insane. And the food came out wrong, had to wait again, then food came out and wasn't very good or flavorful. Only thing good was the pineapple margarita, and strawberry jalapeño Margarita.

Amazing happy hour special on the margaritas at 2-4-1! I'd highly recommend going at that time, grabbing a table outside and ordering some of those. The menu is shockingly lengthy but they also have an abbreviated option for the people, like me, with decision anxiety. The chips and salsa were great and complimentary. I ended up with a chicken quesadilla which was very good and filling but was lacking in flavor. Don't worry, I added lots of their signature salsa on top! Overall, I'd definitely come again, but I did feel their food prices were a little unusually high, especially for Mexican food. I say that because there are tons of phenomenal and reasonably priced Mexican restaurants in the area!

We came to Clearwater to see a musical concert and decided to eat before going. Upon walking the restaurant is decorated with the lovely Mexican theme. Paintings, murals on the wall just beautiful. Our bartender was on par with our drinks. It's a must stop if you a visiting or a local that hasn't been. Fresh and delicious!

The extensive authentic Mexican cuisine menu where food was prepared to order by diligent staff. It was so delicious! Made from fresh ingredients cooked perfectly seasoned with passion. They had both climate-controlled indoor and quaint brightly colored sections outside with live Spanish music that filled the air with a festive vibe.

This is a hidden gem! The place was bigger than we thought, and welcoming. When we first walked in, we liked the sofa and the Day of the Dead decor. When I used the bathroom, I liked the wall decor. We sat in the back, and Agatha was our wait staff. She was fantastic. First she brought us chips and salsa. We asked her about the promo - told her we were going to a concert nearby, after dinner. Agatha said if we showed her our tickets, and ordered from a certain part of the dinner menu, one meal would be 50% off. The menu was huge! Both sides! She also explained the items on the menu that perplexed us. Then she took our drink order while we decided. When she came back, we ordered the chicken enchiladas- mine were mole & Husband had ranchero. Both were delicious. We ate everything - enchiladas, rice, and beans. Mine also came with avocado slices, and Husband's had guacamole salad. So yummy. When we were done, I told Agatha that this was the perfect birthday meal. She was thrilled and said she'd be right back with the check. She came back with four other servers who gave me a tequila shot, an orange slice, and sang to me in Spanish!! What a treat! Not your usual cupcake or ice cream birthday surprise. I liked that. The restaurant also had a guitarist who was very good. He played happy birthday for me in English. We happily tipped him for all the excellent tunes while we ate. I thoroughly enjoyed my birthday because of Tequilla's service, food, and ambiance!

I'm gonna break it down by item Churros- 10/10. Stuffed with dulce de leche I think? Perfect churros with ice cream and whipped cream. I would go back just for this. Guacamole Ranchero- dreadfully under seasoned. Craving salt and lime Fried plantains- forgettable. Not bad, not greasy, but not melt in your mouth Empanadas- chicken and beef. Waste of money not worth getting. Would not order again. Freezer fries needed salt. Chicken preferred over beef Tacos- covered in lettuce and cold cheese which is not my style for tacos. Shredded beef was not good I didn't eat it. Grilled chicken was decent. The other tacos were forgettable. Conclusion: go for the churros. Stay for the churros. Order more churros. Worth going again just for churros. I'd try some other stuff next time but was really underwhelmed (well, except for the churros ;)). Without those this would be a 2 star review.

I went in to eat yesterday when I tell you, we each had the same platter choice of three the beans, the rice the meat, which is a concerning point. Everything was not warm cold and I immediately said going on. The beans are so cold like they came out of the refrigerator or we microwave it for you. I said I don't want microwave food. My chicken my meat is cold. What's going on? We can microwave it for you. I said I don't eat it. I had to pay they said well we warm it up. I said I don't want microwaved food. Somebody needs to investigate in the kitchen and find out why the temperature of the food is not staying in a safe manner. The health department needs to come in and visit and then the ogre Manager was so rude. It was disgusting table behind us, said the same thing, their food was cold, but the waitress was so mean with her thick black glasses that they were afraid to even mention it.

Love the skinny margarita and the steak fajitas also the chorizo queso and churros. We've been coming for a few months now especially for the live music on taco Tuesday and love all the servers and bartenders. It's definitely worth a stop!

Mixed review. Food was good. Menu a bit overwhelming but I love having options. Disapointed in service. Asked for more chips and salsa but never received. Waitress was attentive in beginning but stopped after getting order. A few more people came in but it was not busy for 530-6 pm. Margs were flavorful. Didnt seem to have much alcohol in them for a small. Buy one get one was a great deal. Would go back and try again.

I was very impressed with the diverse menu. Often it's different to find healthy options at a Mexican restaurant but they have an abundance of variety but also all the traditional items. Was disappointed with Tequila being part of their name yet very limited options for tequila(3). Overall service and food was good. My 4 stars is mostly for menu diversity.

First time last week, Angel hooked us up with the excellent green salsa! We tried several different a la carte items and they were all delicious. Recommend.

The food was okay, but the service was horrible. People weren't rude but I had to walk to the front to get a waiter. Then I had to wait for the bartender when there were only 4 other people at the bar. And then I was done for about 15 mins before I could ask for the check.

Angel was a great server who was conscious of our needs and want. the beer was cold and the tequila prices were on point! glad we stopped! beautiful street patio too. highly recommend!

So glad we came, because we almost didn't because of it being not 4-5 stars. The food was authentic, the choices, plentiful, drinks, top notch and service, great, even at the end of a shift.

Stopped in twice to have a margarita. Both times the frozen margarita was the best I had ever had. Will definitely be back when I'm ready for another. The bartender, Teya, was professional & courteous. And the prices are reasonable.

I travel for work and I love stopping by local Mexican restaurants just to check it out. Definitely would not come back to this place. My go to plate is Enchiladas Suizas in green sauce not sure how that can get messed up...the tortilla didn't feel done, the plate itself felt cold I took a bite and it was cold their excuse was the cream and the salsa is cold so that's why it taste that way. The hostess didn't seem very welcoming but my waitress was very polite so I can't blame her for how the meal was prepared. Flavor was bland but the chicken was moist. Maybe their bar isn't bad but as far as food I wouldn't go for it.

Many times I post a good review I have the feeling that a circle is completed. The restaurant/bar/cantina gives a good service and is being recognized with a good review. But sometimes like this time I feel I need to point our for owners to improve. The service is poor and with lack of business acumen, hostess no even smiling, asking to leave a menu and walk away like one is not even talking. Worst feeling in a restaurant is to be ignored. One positive note the outside sitting is very comfy . Lot to improve.

My coworkers and I came here between 5pm and a 630pm meeting so we needed to be relatively quick. The server did a great job of helping us through the meal quickly. Great chips and salsa. The drinks looked good but I didn't have one since I had to attend a meeting. Since I looked up the menu in advance, I pretty much knew what I was going to get. BIRRIA TACOS! I've had some really great birria tacos elsewhere so I was looking forward to these. Sadly, they were just ok. One coworker had steak tacos, another chicken fajitas and a couple other dishes. No one had any complaints. The decor is cute. Overall, bot bad but not as good as other Mexican restaurants I frequent. Convenient though because it is close to work.

My husband and I frequently go here for Taco Tuesday because of the amazing $2 tacos all day! We started going on different days as well to try their other daily specials like the burritos, fajitas and more! Their queso is amazing, their salsa is always fresh and delicious. We have such great and fast service every single time. We are in and out within 30 minutes even during busy times but that's only because they're so quick and good at what they do! They definitely are doing it right! By far it's the best Mexican restaurant spot in the area for sure.

We are here for the first time today and it was amazing. The drinks were delicious and well portioned. We got the trio fajitas and it was amazing. The queso was good, and salsa very flavorful. We loved it and we will be back.

Tequilas is a great, laid back atmosphere thats as fun for your group of friends as it is for your family. Excellent food, affordable prices, cool atmosphere, and the staff is amazing. I've been a regular for a couple years and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. Have I mentioned the service?! Fun and engaging staff that are the highlight of my week. Go on Tuesday for the excellent taco special, ask for Jenn and tell her Sam sent you!

Came here one night after the beach. Cute outdoor seating! Service was a slow. I ordered a taco salad with chicken and refried beans. Unfortunately, the refried means were under the taco shell bowl. My friend had a side of refried beans she didn't want that I added to mine. Also, the cheese was almost non-existent. I had to order more cheese and then they charged me. Disappointing food and service.

We had about 10 people in our party. The waiters were just average. Had to ask three times for extra napkins. Never did get my extra lemons for my water after three times I gave up asking. We had the fajita plate Which was very Good quality Chicken and steak. The basket of chips was mostly crumbs and it took twenty minutes to get an extra basket. I highly recommend the pina colada which was absolutely delicious. This restaurant was not handicapped accessible at all.The door was very heavy getting in and the bathrooms are not accessible if you have a walker to push the door as it weighs Quite a lot. Service needs to have improvement, if you go just for a drink enjoy a pina colada

We called to place an order for pickup and the woman who answered asked us to call back in 10 minutes? Very odd. We called back and did not know the name of the burrito we ordered the last time, so we told her what all was on it. The burrito we got was nothing like what we got last time. Above all we are displeased with the customer service. It feels like the lady (Maria) who answers is irritated. We called back and she was again pretty rude why we called to speak with the manager. Another thing to note - the prices are noticeably higher when ordering at directly through the restaurant than through Bite Squad. Apparently the menu prices were just "increased" as well.

These birria tacos were amazing ! They were super savory and each bite had the perfect amount of meat. One of the best birria tacos I've had in a long time. I'll definitely be coming back to try more from their menu!

Food is good. Nice size restaurant. Service could be improved upon. It seems as if they are short staffed. Outdoor seating available and parking is in the back and very hard to find a space during peak dining times.

We stopped for a drink before going to a show across the street. We actually sat at the bar and never got waited on! We saw them serve other patrons, make lots of drinks and never once did someone ask to help us!

The specialty margaritas made specifically by the bartender were absolutely perfectly balanced and delicious! One of the best margaritas I have ever had!!!!! Service was very friendly and professional! Ambiance was very lively and authentic Mexican feel! The food looked delicious but did not have time for dinner, next time for sure!!!

We went in and were seated right away, our server was very nice as well. Their queso dip was absolutely amazing! The tortilla chips were yummy on their own as well! I ordered the quesadilla fajita and I will say that is one of the best things I have ever had at a Mexican restaurant. We also enjoyed the music they played and the comfy chairs at the tables:) I'm giving a 4 out of 5 just because at the end once we were finished eating, it took about 20 minutes before our server came back to check on us while others were passing and it wasn't busy at all. Other than that amazing service!

Great downtown Clearwater restaurant! We stopped in 30 minutes before they were closing and sat at the bar. The bartenders were very friendly and quick to recommend their favorite dishes and drinks. We ordered an appetizer of queso and chips, burrito and an a la carte chimichanga. The shredded Chicken in the chimichanga was SO good - and I think it was maybe $5. SO MUCH FOOD FOR $5! We also got the 2x1 house tequila shots which were pretty darn good! We will definitely be back.

No bueno Tequila's. We used to enjoy this Downtown Clearwater Mexican restaurant. My opinion has deteriorated fast. Here's the problem: The place is part of a discount program called "The District " where participants get a 20% discount any day, any time. Many restaurants in the area are part of this promotion. You add a website to your phone, look up the restaurant, get a free voucher, show your server and boom, you get the discount. For the second time, management refused to honor the discount, saying it is not available on "Taco Tuesdays." While $1 tacos are a bargain, there are NO exceptions on the District discount plan. It is available any day, any time. I should have gotten 20% off those $1 tacos. Before you flame me on this one, The District manager agrees with me on this one. There are NO exceptions to the discount in place. Our long-term relationship at Tequila's is over. Taco Tuesday will be at another place.

Not bad.....but not great. Location is super convenient to concerns, easy walking distance. Would consider it again.

This is by far one of the top places in the TBA to get authentic Mexican cuisine! The Birria tacos are fricking delicious! The tortilla chips keep coming out hot and ready! Can't wait till we're in Clearwater to enjoy it again!
