We celebrated our 25 year anniversary here. Got the seafood platter for two. It could have easily fed three. It was beautifully presented on ice. Has to be the best meal I have eaten. Everything was cooked to perfection. The waiter was attentive and helpful. They accommodated me and my coeliac. I’m gluten free The manager wanted to make sure we were happy and asked about our experience. Just absolutely 10/10.

I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of this restaurant, directly across from the Train Station (Gare de Nord... of course). Following a long day of meetings at the Paris Air Show, I was looking for a nice and reasonably quick dinner before starting my evening meetings back with the States. They have a nice Set Menu selection for dinner. I had the prawns appetizer, muscles in cream wine sauce for a main (perfectly cooked and extremely delicious), and the classic creme brulee for dessert (again perfect as you can only get in Paris). And I left more filled than I would have anticipated... Extremely delicious and I departed both very happy and quiet stuffed at an very reasonable price. One of the most enjoyable little (... big...) dinners I have enjoyed in Paris alone in decades. :-) Dan

9-June-2025 Good food. Oysters and fish are very fresh. 12-June-2025 I came back to dine at this restaurant once again. The service was not as good as last time. I ordered Tuna tartare snd Mussels. At this time, the waiter served only bread without butter. When I asked for one, they charged me €0.80 for that.

I visited on a Sunday afternoon between 2 trains. Service was very friendly, and efficient. My children and I really enjoyed the food. I ordered octopus which had a delicious pea purée alongside it and some vegetable. Really could not fault it and I have rarely seen a dish quite like that. The waiters were kind to my kids too, which was appreciated after a long trip. They can serve you faster if you are in a hurry to catch a train.

Everything you would expect of a memorable classic dining experience in France. Professionalism at its finest. Not what you’d normally expect across the road from a train station! I highly recommend you consider dining here. I haven’t seen this level of effortless professionalism in even the top restaurants of Sydney New York or Paris so do yourself a favour and take the time for a long lunch or dinner here.

I enjoyed the food on my visit. My fave is the French Onion soup which was my craving on my Paris visit. Service was amazing. The staff member, Alidin was friendly and really helped me choose the best food option. Thank you! Overall, the ambiance was great and loving the Parisian vibe too!

Tres délicieux 🤤 I had the chicken dish and OMG. Still thinking about that first bite… mouth-watering doesn’t even begin to cover it🍷! Super kind and cozy atmosphere! Lovely staff. Totally recommended !!

Google
A great spot to stop by when arriving in or leaving Paris, especially if you’re catching a train. I had a quick lunch here before starting my day. The food was tasty, and the service was fast and professional. If you’re in the mood, you can treat yourself “à la française” with a classic seafood plateau. All in all, a solid brasserie experience I’d recommend.

Yelp
Restaurant was recommended by the staff from the hotel we stayed at nearby. It was a great recommendation. Food was great and staff were excellent. They speak English so it was easy to ask questions about the menu items. The restaurant is very big and many of the patrons had their luggages with them as they were probably just arriving or leaving from the train station across the street.

Yelp
This is an iconic Brasserie located next to the Gare du Nord. Ideal setting for a stop before taking the Eurostar to Brussels, London or Amsterdam. For lunch you can try their formule lunch with is a starter plus main dish or a main dish and dessert for €22. Or you can select some oysters from Normandy and an excellent steak tartare as I did. The service is very attentive and professional. This is your traditional classic French menu with an excellent selection as everything is cooked a la minute. They let you bring your luggages as well which is really super accommodating! I have enjoyed this restaurant for years and am so happy to be back.

Yelp
When in Paris, go to a Brasserie ! Well, yes, we did ! While waiting for our train back to Brussels we were told by a local client that this place was definitely good. It did not disappoint. Excellent food and excellent service (which is surprising for Paris). It has everything you would expect from a brasserie. It is located right across the entrance of the Gare du Nord and it is super funny that it is surrounded by american chains: Popeyes, Five Guys, Burger King, etc. Why would you go to such chains when you have an amazing and authentic French food right before your eyes? Anyway, don't think twice, just come in and enjoy the steak, the crepe and the mussels which were the favorites among our group.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant right in front of the Gare du Nord and part of the hotel. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. Our waitress spoke English not too well but enough to get our order going. The restaurant is fairly big. Tables were lined with white table clothes and white sconce lights were scattered on the wooden panels lining the walls. We ordered the fois gras, steak and frites $31, French onion soup $9, prawns $20 and beef tartare $22. All were really fresh and tasty. For dessert we ordered the il floatante $9, which is a French dessert for floating island, a marshmallow floating on vanilla cream sauce. Fairly sweet but still good. They also have set prices for 2 courses (starter and main or main and dessert) $23 or 3 courses for $29.50. Overall, a lovely decadent restaurant with welcoming and attentive staff, plus some great French food.

Yelp
Great lunch at a decent price convenient to train station. The servers were very friendly and helpful

Yelp
Excellent service and food. I only had mussels, but they were divine. Large portion for the price. I could not finish the plate! Will be back!

Yelp
Great place to eat before taking the train at gar du nord.. they serve beef pork and seafood.

Yelp
As places to eat before getting on a train go, this isn't too bad. The mirrors and brass, and uniformed waiters go some way to recapturing the glamour of travel; the food is good, but not quite hitting the same pitch as more modern French restaurants in which Paris abounds. Still, if you're after a bit of ballast before a long train journey ( which you're happy sleeping through), you could do a lot worse than a lunch here ( think French onion soup or a terrine , a plate of oysters, then perhaps the choucroute- maybe a carafe of something?). The iles-flottante is also pretty spectacular. A wider range of opening hours than many other restaurants and bistro.

Yelp
I was pushing it a bit, going for a coffee before tackling the challenge of going through UK border control, but I had to have something before jumping on the Eurostar. This place wasn't all that flashy, and it was a little slow. The other thing is that the table service annoys me because I do like having a nosey inside. Still, I got my coffee, which really wasn't all that fantastic anyway. However, it worked out okay. The place is convenient, but not really that fantastic.

Yelp
I've been eating at Terminus Nord for over 30 years and thankfully very little has changed over that time. Terminus Nord is a classic French brasserie and has a menu that doesn't change much from season to season apart from the amazing fresh seafood and shellfish served during months with a "r" in them. I started with 6 escargots which same swimming in garlic butter. This was followed by an amazing Dover Sole which was massive, very tasty and very fresh. My companions enjoyed the classic French onion soup and a plateau de fruits de mer. The wine list is extensive and reasonable and the service very professional. I hope that Terminus Nord continues as is, and resists the temptation to change. It's terrific the way it is.

Yelp
This restaurant was conveniently located right below our hotel in Paris and my mom and I came here for wine and oysters during dinner time. Although the place was busy, we were seated within minutes. We ordered The oyster sheller's platter which came with 8 oysters and bread and although we only came for appetizers we were quite full! Our server was very friendly and our experience was pleasant!

Yelp
We had to be at the Gare du Nord for the 11AM Eurostar to London. We saw this place and it does look nice from the outside. Our server was amicable enough, and spoke just enough English to get by. The food was of good quality and the prices were reasonable. The location and price make this a good choice if you're departing Paris via the train.
google avatar

Yelp
My brother in law recommended this little gem as he was taking a train from London to meet us for lunch. It's a classic french brasserie and a perfect place next to the Eurostar. Inside was dark wood/leather, white tablecloths and crystal chandeliers. They had a great menu with a nice prix fixe lunch menu. I ordered oysters for my starter and the sole. Both were amazing. We had a beautiful chardonnay to go with it and with four people the price was only about 30 euro each. If you are in the neighborhood it's definitely a perfect place for a classic French meal!

Yelp
Had our last dinner here at this restaurant. It is just across the train station which is a pretty convenient location. Service was great. Food came on time. We mostly ordered from the set menus. I ordered the salmon avocado wrap, sea bass, and tira misu which was all delicious. I figured the seafood must be good as they had a vast variety of seafood displayed at the front of their restaurant. Oysters seem to be a must have there!

Yelp
Right across the street from Gare du Nord - very convenient and doable if in transit. Classic Parisian experience with all the standards. Decor is 20's nouveau Art Deco with clear French motifs and a nice colored tile scheme. Unfortunately was by myself so could not partake the tower of seafood, but the small sampling I had - 6 cockles were incredibly fresh - on par with standards in Tokyo (where I live) and quality standards and high. For the main course, Magret Canard (duck breast) I ordered came not sliced but in a roast form - a pleasant surprise - and was perfectly done rose (they got it right sometimes a miss too far on the blu/red side). The fat was scored and crisped just right and blended beautifully with the meat and sauce. It was accompanied by long macaroni and a subtle cheese - not too heavy. All-in-all very nice meal - for those looking for a Classic French with the convenience being near the station, highly recommend!

Yelp
Stayed here for three days while in Paris. Seemed like a regular hotel, and at least I got two robes since we had two adults in the room. They fulled the toiletries, but were not as good with re-filling the coffee cups, tea cups, the coffee and they couldn't even have enough conversion plugs in stock for us to use, hence I couldn't use my laptop on my trip and I had to eventually buy one across from the train lines. The room service food was not as good as I had expected, but all in all I would not mind coming back. I didn't love that they had a good complimentary continental breakfast, buffet style. It is a perfect place where you can enjoy as much as Paris and then hop on the train back to London within 20 mins.

Yelp
The service was commendable and the restaurant was a pleasure to dine in. When I think back to Paris, my memory is fixated on the interior of Terminus Nord. I wasn't overly impressed by the food, specifically the duck breast came in a pretty small portion, but this was one of the first of many dining experiences that made me realize the bar in Paris is set very, very high.

Yelp
Was offered a discount for making reservation online but when we arrived we realized it didn't apply on the set menus. We only went to this restaurant because of there set menu. It took them 15 minutes to bring us water also the waiter wasn't available to answer questions I felt out of place . Food was good had the oysters and steak tartar not a horrible experience but the wait staff could be nicer would make a big difference

Yelp
This restaurant is truly a Parisian experience in a very convenient location right in front of the Gare du Nord train station. I had dinner here with one of my best friends: we were celebrating her engagement on the night of the recent terroristic attacks. The evening had started very well with an impeccable service in a very upscale ambiance. We enjoyed some oysters with two glasses of Pommery and we were just starting our saumon fume and foie gras with a bottle of Grand Gru when we heard about the attacks. We were very saddened by what was happening and decided to cut our dinner short and go back to the hotel. Gregor was an excellent waiter and I would love to dine here again next time I am in this beautiful city. Until then, au revoir!

Yelp
We were all handed a French menu even though we were speaking English. Our expat British friend and French wife translated for us. We ordered the duck confit , fish, chicken, beef tartare, foie gras,crème brûlée, tiramisu, perrier, 2 beers ,half red, half white ( €179). The waiter will mix the beef tartare for you but is best to do it yourself as they overdid his catsup last time. I ordered the duck to be rosy but it was not. They tend to overcook above the request for Americans accdg to my friend. I did not want to wait for another one. It was still good except the outside fat was not crisp as I expected it to be. A different waiter took over and handed me an english menu for dessert. Creme brulee was good. Service was below par, had to wait for the red wine to be poured for approval and had to ask for our dessert after our meals. It was not a busy night at the place.

Yelp
First night in Paris and I was looking for some french food close by. There are tons of restaurant around but this one sorta stood out to me. Most other restaurants serve burgers and sandwiches. This one has actual French food. The environment: it was quite pleasant and quiet. Good place for a quiet dinner. There are good amount of outside sitting for just a drink. Service: wonderful! The staffs were extremely friendly and nice. Food: they offer a two course or three course meal, which is a better deal than ordering a la cart. I had the foie gras and the duck (meal of the day). It was very good portions. Foie gras was good but I'm not sure I would order that on regular price. The duck was cooked right, melted in my mouth. It came with green beans. Simple but balance the flavor out very well. Overall: Not a bad place to go for french food on this street..

Yelp
This was an excellent dining experience! The staff was friendly and kind to this English speaking American who had some time to kill before catching a train at the station across the street. I ordered from the coursed menu - I started with the foie gras and had the chicken supreme for my main dish. Both dishes were well prepared, well seasoned, and delicious. My mom tried the crème brûlée and said it was one of the best she's ever had...she's a bit of an aficionado on the subject. Lol. It was a bit pricey (about €40 per person) but I believe in the old adage "you get what you pay for" and in this case, I certainly did! The historic ambience, friendly staff, and delicious food made this a top rate experience. As an added note, I was wearing jeans and chucks, but they made me feel just like all the locals who were wearing coats and slacks. They also accommodate travelers with luggage pretty well. I'm going to make it a point to come back here the next time I visit Paris.

Yelp
This place is a very traditional French brasserie. I don't think the menu has really changed over time, but food is good. Warning: this is part of a bigger group, and it does not look like food is prepared there. From seafood to steak tartare, to fish, fish soup , it's all there. My steak tartare was excellent, but the fish a bit dry. For desserts, traditional French with my favorite, profiteroles :-) As for service, quick, efficient, but except the traditional Parisian arrogance ;-) As a conclusion, this place is perfect before getting on the train to the North, serves good food, but prices have really gone up recently.

Yelp
Terminus Nord might not be on the same level as the famous Train Bleu in the Gare de Lyon but it is an excellent brasserie nevertheless. If you are coming in with the Eurostar late in the evening and craving typical french cuisine, then this restaurant right opposite the train station entrance should be your choice. The Gare du Nord neighborhood is not exactly dotted with excellent restaurants, so this should be an easy and safe choice. I can highly recommend their terrine de boeuf, onion soup and choucroute. very traditional fare as you can see :)
google avatar

Anna S.

Yelp
This brasserie came recommended as a traditional one with a lot if Art Nouveaux/Art Deco decoration. It's right across the street from Gare du Nord so a lot of tourists are coming and going as they wait for the Eurostar or as they arrive. The service was okay, none of the waiters were particularly friendly but every now and then they seemed to crack a smile. We did enjoy the food-- I had a great dish of duck over a crunchy polenta. Overall, our experience was good, but not great.

Jay H.

Yelp
Good staff. They put up with 'poor' French very well. Have the duck. It's great. For desert the Chocolate cake, it's amazing.

J K.

Yelp
Over priced tourist rip off because of location. Four people and the bill was almost 180€. The rib eye steak was shoe leather and roasted chicken was not roasted but boiled and tasteless. When we returned to our hotel and told the clerk what a disappointment she said to us I wish you had told me you were thinking of going there because I would have said don't. So the place is known to locals as a rip off.

Yelp
Apart from this place, most of all eating places around la Gare du Nord are rubbish (at junk ratings). On arrival in or departure from Paris, if you fancy a decent, traditional and proper French meal in that area, this is exactly where you should be with no doubt. Any type of dishes are up to mark. My special recommendation goes to crustasses (ou fruits de mer). You don't have to be constrained by the month ending with 'er' but probably better avoid June to August. A very good inventory of wine and lovely desserts. Services are very good, well, in a traditional French, very knowledgeable about food and wine (maybe too much) and witty enough. They make you feel immediately 'you are in France', voila! Incidentally I adore their ladies room.

Yelp
Great location! Excellent and friendly service! Delicious food!!! Perfect for an introduction to Paris!

Yelp
NOT VALUE FOR MONEY! I have tried numerous good fine dinning restaurants around france and this charged expensive prices for mediocre food and low quality of service. You are better off find some other restaurant.

Philadelphia Junto A.

Yelp
The food -- bouillabaisse for Hotspur and chateaubriand for Joan -- were fair to middling. But the atmosphere -- especially, on a rainy day earlier this week -- was at its best film noir black and white ambience. Only Jean Gabin and shooting steam from wartime locomotives were missing. Service was OK. Prices are very good for value and for the pre-war brasserie show. Another oddity. Urinals in resto restrooms are positioned high. Just right for six-sixers. The rest of us -- well, you get the idea. -- Hotspur for The PJ (www.junto.blogspot.com)

Yelp
Great location across from Gare du Nord. The food is very good as well as the wine selection. My recommendations are the Duck and the Seafood.

Yelp
Bustling place near the Gare du Nord train station in Paris. Selected this place for dinner because of the time we were catching the Eurostsr back to London. Most places in Paris aren't open continuously all day. My husband had a delicious lobster salad. We all got the French onion soup but different and so much better than American style. I had the duck froi gras which melted in my mouth. Also got crab and avocado tartare but that was a little bland. The desserts were the highlight. We got creme brûlée which we agreed was the best we ever had. You could actually taste the egg in it and it was warm inside with a perfect crust of sugar on top. We also got profiteroles filled with ice cream and hot fudge on top! Good service, nice staff. Recommend this place if you have to catch a train because if you're near the tourist attractions with the traffic being bad you won't make your train.
google avatar

Greg P.

Yelp
A great brasserie. The perfect place for dinner if you're waiting for the evening train back to London. Awesome service, great seafood. Loved the oysters!
google avatar

Scott M.

Yelp
Yes - it is part of the Flo chain. But they know how to do brasserie right, and this is a sterling example. A bright light in the dark constellation of restaurants near Gare du Nord. All the brasserie faves, executed to perfection.

Mathilde L.

Yelp
The food is so overpriced it's a scam! Anything other than oysters is definitely not worth eating there.

alex b.

Yelp
Tres chic. Locals and Parisians artists. Few tourists. And th efood is amazing.

Howard L.

Yelp
Lovely place to stop for bit of lunch having got off the the Eurostar. Helpful staff with good language skills. They were understanding with my very basic french. Atmosphere was cosy and welcoming from the January weather. Amazing display of seafood which was reflected in the menu. I recommend the bouillabaisse with langoustine and mussels topped with fresh dill. Absolutely delightful. The basic Sauvignon Blanc was beautiful, properly corked and chilled on ice. The French really do know about wine. Fish soup came in cauldron and ladled as when you needed it, accompanied with bread and gratin. Clean pleasant toilets. A delightful place to start a city break

Yelp
We had an OK experience here. Went here on a whim since this was our last night and we wanted to eat nearby our hotel. We had the roasted duck breast with potato mango tatin tart, which was good, except for the fact that the skin/fat was soggy, not crispy as expected. Dessert was also all right, but the brûlée tasted a little bit eggy. The half-baked chocolate cake was delicious! Waiting staff was attentive and helpful.

Yelp
We made a trip just to return to Terminus Nord My parents had a short amount of time to eat during their last trip to Paris, and happened upon Terminus Nord. While the wait staff quickly served them in order to comply with their tight schedule, they by no means skimped on the food. It was so good, we made a special trip back there last week, just to eat there again. The service was amazing, the food was exquisite, and the price was very fair. If you enjoy seafood, make sure you stop into Terminus Nord, it is by far one of the best meals I've ever had.

Cityvox User (mike-…)

Yelp
Excellent During a five night stay in Paris this year and a further 3 night stay we ate here every night. Food, service, decor, atmosphere are all excellent and good value. Go!

Cityvox User (holly-…)

Yelp
Great place for a nice meal and good service Nice restaurant, the food is good (especially if you like seafood) and the service is always friendly. The decor is 1950s and there is always an interesting crowd as it is right beside the train station. Nice place to eat and the price is right.

Yelp
try fish soup and duck breast...taste not very good.the prices are not match with the quality and taste.i would not recommend it~

Yelp
Best duck breast I've ever had. Onion soup would be worth the trip back to Paris alone!

Yelp
good service but sadly my husband was very badly poisoned by steak tartare on July 23, 2011. He was quite il for 24 hours.

Bev C.

Yelp
classic brasserie. had the set menu and chose foie gras appetizer, beef tartar and creme brule. the foie gras was a very small piece but ok, the beef tartar was very good but the most outstanding was the creme brule. service was so-so.
