Terra Nova All Suite Hotel Jamaica

We chose the restaurant to start celebrating a birthday, and expected to have nice breakfast at this charming restaurant. Its lobby reminds of colonial times, and the terrace restaurant provides a simple, but nice atmosphere. Although most tables were taken, after a short wait we were offered a table. ||However, service turned out to something somewhat difficult. to begin with, ordering 2 classic cappuccino was a challenging task. We were given what seemed to be 2 large cups of milk and coffee, so we kindly requested to change them for classic Italian recipes.||The fruit platter was prepared in a simple way. That was quite ordinary, with pineapple, watermelon and melon. However, some typical local fruits would have made this platter more interesting. ||After a long wait we were informed that the kitchen had no salmon and could not prepare scrambled eggs. The order then was replaced by Eggs Benedict.||The wait was again long and I requested a second Italian capuccino, which was not served.||The reaction of servers, when asked about our orders, was a little disappointing. They excused themselves by saying “I did not know about that”. ||We ended up being the last ones to leave the breakfast premises, but there was still one last issue to be solved: the bill. Instead of being charged by Eggs Benedict, we were requested to pay for scrambled eggs. The waitress explained that the prices were the same, but after I requested her to double-check them an adjustment was made to the bill.||In the end, I’m not sure the reason why they charged us a service tax but, in any case, I’m not convinced it would be worthwhile returning, mainly if the reason would be the celebration of an important friend’s date.

Pros: |Terra Nova All Suites hotel is a beautiful property close to many attractions. Front Desk staff - reception & managers - were super helpful, friendly & warm. Shout out to Sharika who made our check in a smooth one! We were offered Hemingway Suite! Room was HUGE & well furnished with classic wooden furnitures. Bed & pillows are very comfy. In-room bar with wines, beers & soft drinks were complimentary! |Cons: |Housekeeping service needs improvement. Rooms were not stocked & checked well before guests check in. Requests for coffee sachets upon check in afternoon only came next day. Toiletries, pantry, water were not restocked while cleaning & had to make a request. |The Terrace restaurant is very pretty & quaint but not much vegetarian options for breakfast & meals. A bit more warmth & smile from restaurant staff would have made it wonderful! |Overall we had a very pleasant stay in a totally well restored old mansion. Highly recommend for a memorable stay!

Visited the restaurant for a birthday dinner celebration. The staff was friendly but unprofessional, a little too familiar for my taste. The wait was unduly long and the meals were served haphazardly... one meal was served more than 15 minutes before the other two. One meal was the wrong order, waiter served from the wrong side, repeatedly. Dessert ordered never arrived. Just a tacky and unprofessional service, I never associated with Terra Nova.

The hotels not great! As a new hotel, we had an alarm trigger, which caused security to turn up banging on the room…with my partner in the shower!! The lights didn’t work properly & the we had a ringing go off in room for 5 minutes after 8 hours in the part not what you want. Skip this hotel, it’s not ready.

I had a great stay at this hotel! The location was perfect, with an amazing parking option that made everything so convenient. The staff were incredibly friendly—special shoutout to Abigail and Sherica at reception who went above and beyond. I also ordered room service and the food was delicious—highly recommend the burger with grilled root veggies! Would definitely stay here again.

The rooms were excellent, pillows fantastic and bed very confortable. Service at times let the hotel down. Some staff appeard happy and this trasfered to the service, others not so much.|We waited over an hr for the evening meal with no consession made and it was cold. This resulted in us eating out on the 2nd night, given the cost this has affected the rate.||This was a shame as the hotel and rooms are beautiful. We would return

We loved our stay at Terra Nova in Kingston. Close to Devon House. Only about 30 minutes from Port Royal and the airport. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The landscaping made the property feel very secluded and peaceful even in the middle of town off a busy street. Breakfast on the veranda was a real highlight, the morning breeze was glorious. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they even popped microwave popcorn for our picky-eater. 5 out of 5 we'd stay again if we go back to Jamaica.

First let me start by saying that this is a hotel that I frequent OFTEN. We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights. Restaurant staff and the bellhops provide excellent service. Truly, I am disappointed at what this hotel has become. The front desk staff are not rude, but they aren't the friendliest. To start, I booked two rooms. One room, I was charged twice for the incident hold. I asked if the second hold I was charged for could be put towards the other room and I was told no. In one of our rooms, the ac started leaking around 2am, someone came at 3am and they were unable to fix it. We had to empty a bucket 3 times full of water until someone else came at 11am. The ac only worked one night that we were there. Our shower was not properly cleaned prior to our arrival as we found strands of hair all around the shower edges. We had a 9am flight on our day of departure, we asked at 615am if we would be able to have breakfast being that we had to leave to catch our flight, we were told no due to it not starting until 630am. Overall, I was disappointed in my service and experience. Staff was professional, but once our concerns were voiced, they became very unhelpful.
