I am so disappointed with the way my reservation for dinner on Christmas Day was handled. I called and booked reservations for my sister and I for Christmas Day at 6:30pm. The young lady who took my details was so polite. She took my info, told me the cost for dinner that day would be $95USD and I thought we were all set. On Christmas Eve, I got a text asking me to confirm my reservation, which I did.
On the way to the restaurant, Christmas Day, we unfortunately got a flat tire. I phoned the restaurant at 6:10pm to ask for a 10 minute grace period and give a heads up of the reason for the request. The young lady who answered went to check and informed me they would not be able to make a shift in the time. She then informed me that she noticed my reservation was cancelled. I told her neither of us cancelled the reservation, so why would her system be showing that. She asked if I confirmed the reservation, which I told her yes via text. She asked if I made a deposit, I told her no, at no point was I asked to do so. She placed me on hold. I was on hold for approximately 8 minutes before I chose to hang up (I was calling from my overseas number).
Honestly, being away from family on Christmas Day was hard enough, but someone messed up somewhere and it has left a bitter taste in my mouth.
Thank goodness we were fortunate enough to be welcomed at the AC Hotel for dinner that evening.
