Unforgettable stay :) For those who appreciate heritage architectural building, for those who wants to have an experience to live in one yet with modern bathroom. The reception office is more than 200 years old with not a single nail to hold the structure. Beautifully carved wood work at window and door. Various original grinding stone , mortar/pestle, wooden weaving tools, like a little museum. We have dinner and breakfast in resort. Excellent service, friendly staff. Nice chat with staff on the background of the resort. We checked in with hesitation but checked out with heartfelt appreciate to the founder of resort. Highly recommended ! By the way, the resort is at wetland thus will be useful to have mosquito repellent/spray. 2 ceiling fans and air-conditioning in our chalet which makes it comfortable for the night. We checked in, turn on air-conditioning, apply mosquito spray, start filling the bathtub with cold water...then have a stroll at the beach, dinner then back to nice cooling chalet soaking in cold bathtub before jumping to a comfy king-size bed. If mosquito spray works then no need for mosquito net .

My wife and I spent the night in one of the villas and had a magical time. This is a compound of 100 year old plus villas that have been beautifully restored, with beautiful dark wood rooms and furniture and modern bathrooms with soaking tubs and ceiling showers. It is bordered on one side by the jungle and on the other by the ocean. The grounds and infiniti pool are gorgeous. The owner collects antiques and they are spread around the grounds and in the rooms. This is one of those places where you can feel the history. A memorable and worthy stay.

Very gorgeous malay traditional resort in a very peaceful and private area. The amenities are great and the scenery is superb. The resort staffs are helpful and friendly. Highly recommended for family but elderly people will have difficulty to climb the ladder as all the houses are quite high.

Has to add some more light at the back area because its too dark. Great place for healing with easy access to beach.

This place is absolutely gorgeous. They took care of the place really well, allowing the buildings and artifacts to blend in nicely with the surrounding nature. We had a really great experience, mostly due to the hospitable staff. Thanks Wati and her lovely team who made us feel so comfortable and flexible with last minute dietary request. The day-trip to Setiu Wetland arranged by them was great too, with learning about the nature. We even got to try some fresh oysters!

Don't underestimate this resort for its 3-star rating. Its grounds are sprawling. It's ability to curate a traditional feel unparalleled to most 5-star hotels. And its beach front is akin to a private patch, its waters clear, and with the occasional fisher. The traditional houses make for an unforgettable encounter with local heritage, and the high-quality interior refurbishments make for an incredibly comfortable stay. Terrapuri is a mix of lost world and convenient local access. The only two items to be weary of are the lacklustre breakfast and absent receptionist.

I understand that they are trying to implement table service, but to do so effectively, please improve your service. For example, have more staff available, especially on weekends, and ensure sufficient milk is provided in the breakfast section. I had to wait for the staff to bring the bread, and by the time I got in line, it had run out. Isn’t it tiring for the staff as well, having to go back and forth? Secondly, I’ve been to other places that offer table service instead of a buffet, and for the price, the food provided at other villas and hotel are much more satisfying. I was expecting some good traditional dishes, and I definitely didn’t pay just for fried mee hoon and the limited selection available for breakfast. I’m not saying I expect an abundance of food at my table, but I do expect better quality and presentation. Regarding the room, I booked three villas, and although one of the rooms had a problem, the staff managed to resolve it quickly. But for all three room that we booked, none assist in helping bringing in our luggage. AT ALL. Because why? Short of staff. There is not even a male staff to begin with. I dont blame the staff because the room is fully booked. But Management need to do something, please. Overall: Would I come here again? Maybe. Was the food worth it if you had to pay for an additional person? No

This might be an isolated case but maybe not. I’ve seen reviews commenting on the service. Maybe it’s a discrimination towards local tourists, idk. Nobody manned the reception when we arrived. When we finally get a hold of the staff, we were told that the staff incharge was out bringing foreign tourists out and about. The staff were rude to us. The lunch/dinner package must be booked at least 2 days prior but good luck waiting for them to reply. The RM25 visit includes a tour and refreshers (sirap delasih and keropok) but we did not get the tour guide. The building looking a bit run down was a no problem for us as we understand the need to preserve those centuries old buildings. However the cleanliness must be improved. Lizard droppings were everywhere. The place gives you a bit of spooky vibes. Overall, the place is cool (not literally) but the service is off. Unless you’re rice skinned and from the Mount of Causasus, you might get better treatment. If youre a staff and you want to talk smack about your clients/customers/visitors, maybe do it somewhere they can’t hear you 🥴
