Terrazas del Arenal, Restaurante, Cafetería y Mirador

Delicious food, marvelous views, and excellent customer service. We came after hours right as the cook was leaving and she recognized me and my boyfriend so she came back just to make us the pizza she mentioned to us earlier. The owner as well mentioned he would open up for breakfast on the days they are closed . We are extremely grateful with the service they provided for us, their kindness and the love they put into their food. Pura Vida ! Bendiciones que delicia y muchas gracias!

We stopped here for lunch after the Butterfly Conservatory (down the road). We had no expectations but this place was superb. Truly delicious and fresh family-owned and scratch made food. They didn't speak much English but we got through with Google Translate. The prices were totally fair (if not underpriced), the food was great, the service was stellar, and the view overlooking the jungle and Lake Arenal was amazing. Would def stop again!

The food was a really disappointing experience. The French fries were the worst we had in our lives, and other food was simply the put in the firer but it seemed that oil was really old. Spaghetti was just a mix of one sauce and pasta , and the ther was just average. The chocolate was a bit tasting like chocolate, but it was just mixed with the water. I do not recommend to eat there.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Terraces is a beautiful new restaurant with an absolutely amazing view of the lake and volcano — one of the best in the area! The owners are a lovely Tico family who make you feel right at home. The food is fresh, flavorful, and made with care. And here’s something special — on Saturdays, they open up the parking lot for a local farmer’s market with fresh vegetables, baked goods, and unique specialty items like buffalo cheese and yogurt. It’s a wonderful community vibe and a great way to spend the morning before enjoying a meal with a view. Don’t miss this place — it’s a real gem!

We recently had breakfast here while on vacation in la fortuna. I can only say this is one of the best places around. It is not so touristy because it is outside of the town but the owner and his family make this place so cozy and friendly I had to recommend. The food is amazing and they also offer a lot of natural juices. If you like coffee you should try their special coffee and ask for the binoculars to see birds and monkeys. The view of the lake and the mountains is incredible. This is a must visit in el castillo.

My Husband and I ate here while staying in Costa Rica, The food at Terrazas del Arenal Cafetería y Mirador was excellent, the atmosphere and view were so amazing! Everything about this Restaurant is on point! Very Clean and the service stand out! Also great prices! If you are in the area be sure to stop by! Pura Vida my friends!

The prices are okay if you compare them to the quality of the food. The beef sandwich was so good. The view of the volcano is awesome (it was cloudy when I went, though). If you're looking for a chill place to have lunch or dinner, with good prices and good food, this is your place! They have an alien and a UFO at the front, which looks so funny. I guess it has to do with all those stories my grandpa told me about lights coming in and out of the volcano!

Incredible location with a view of Lake Arenal and Arenal volcano. The family who runs the business is extremely friendly and helpful. We sat down and were offered incredible coffee as well as binoculars and a bird identification chart. I'm not a birder but it didn't take long to find a pair of beautiful Parakeets. Food was delicious - had the typical breakfast on our last day in El Castillo. I hope to be back and hope many others enjoy the hospitality.
