Terre di Zaccanello - Azienda Agricola Relais

The stay with Giulia and her family was absolutely amazing! We arrived with a small health issue, but Giulia immediately arranged a doctor’s appointment and took all our worries off our hands, allowing us to fully enjoy the beautiful accommodation and our holiday again. The stay and the breakfast are second to none – it's everything you need for a carefree experience. We will definitely come back here! So, see you soon.

Tucked into the Sicilian countryside, this refurbished farmhouse (now Inn) has a lot to offer. We have a soft spot for family-run Inns and this one didn’t disappoint. It is easily accessed from the nearest highway on the way to Agrigento and rests nicely in the center of an olive grove. The mix of updated appointments (included bathrooms) and old-world stone decor made it the perfect spot to stay while exploring the Southern coast. We arrived very early in the season and so it was a little chilly at night. Julia, our gracious host, provided space heaters for our room at night. My guess is that during the heat of summer, the old stonework is going to make the rooms quite pleasant. Although sunny for most of our stay, the temperature was too cold for us to enjoy the pool, pool bar and/or whirlpool but I’m imaging that in the heat of summer, those areas of the facility are wonderful to have. Communications with the host were easy and Julia helped guide us to nearby restaurants and activities that we were not previously planned. Indeed, we had one of our favorite meals of the trip in Agrigento. Breakfast (photos included) was a special mix of traditional meats, cheeses, fruits, bread and fresh made eggs. It featured jams, nuts and other delicacies right from the farm. The rooms might be a little small for some travelers but if you’ve spent any time in Europe, that’s often part of the deal. Open your windows to stare out across the pool, orchard and hillside…you’ll feel just fine. Should we ever make it back to Southern Sicily, this will be our place to stay. We visited with our friends recently as part of a larger food tour in the region, organized by GoSicily, and we had an amazing time! Giulia was an exceptional host and storyteller, sharing the unique history of their family farm with us and explaining the very local cultivation of olives. She exercised great patience as she taught us novices how to properly taste and enjoy the nuances of their award-winning olive oils (we don't have anything that good in Germany), and we were so happy to learn in such a beautiful setting and to have a great meal with friends afterwards. I only wish we had more time to stay in that idyllic place for longer. We will definitely be back. :)

My friends and I were a group of twelve from Texas and we had the entire Terre di Zaccanello all to ourselves for 5 days! The property was beautiful, the place was stunning, with attention to detail in every guestroom as well as all of the common areas. Giulia was so sweet and helpful with all of her recommendations for visiting and dining in the area. The Rustic Sicilian meal prepared by Daniela (Giulia’s mom) was so delicious! Fonz was a great little tour guide as well. Michelle and Antonella took care of all of our needs from drinks and snacks at the pool, to my early morning coffee, and an amazing breakfast each day! Whenever any of the twelve return to Sicily this place will be a must do! My only worry is that the word will soon get out and they will be so busy that we may not get even get one room!

If you’re looking for a serene and charming retreat in the countryside, this is the perfect spot! With only six rooms, it feels wonderfully intimate and never crowded. The family-owned atmosphere makes you feel like part of their inner circle, with warm and genuine hospitality. The service is excellent, the food is sourced directly from the estate, and you can even participate in the harvest yourself. We absolutely loved our stay and highly recommend it to everyone!

I happened to find this place by accident. I was flying to Catania and ended up chatting to my next seat passenger who happened to be Giulia. My friend and I decided to do the Olive oil tasting, which was a wonderful experience. Giulia was a good host, showed us around the farm, the history of the farm and the process of making olive oil and then the testing. The attention to detail in packing the olive oil bottles since we were flying internationally was absolutely great. I wish I found this place earlier and planned for it. I will definitely stop by the next time I'm in the area.

Such an amazing, personal and tranquil place to stay. Definitely my favorite place I stayed in during my time in Sicily. Everything was perfect, the farm is stunning, food is absolutely delicious, especially the dinner made by Giulia’s mother, and it has a very intimate feeling. True family home and great Sicilian hospitality. The rooms are nicely decorated and very comfortable. There are many relaxing activities around the area, such as fruit picking and cooking classes. Also, they offer special activities during olive oil harvest after summer. Giulia’s local recommendations for restaurants were fantastic and truly authentic. It’s very close to all the main sights in Agrigento and I would love to visit and stay in this tranquil house again.

We had a marvelous stay at Terre di Zaccanello! Giulia and her family have created a beautiful small hotel and make you feel very much at home there. Everything thing is done with care and connected to the local environment. The excellent breakfast features fresh fruit, homemade jams, and eggs from the farm. The grounds are lovely with many olive and citrus trees. We recommend doing a tasting of their delicious olive oils. This is a perfect place to relax while also enjoying attractions in nearby Agrigento. But perhaps the best part of the stay was the genuinely warm hospitality from Giulia and her family.
