Tesoro Escondido Eco Lodge and Cabinas

This is the most beautiful property in Bocas, the food is amazing, Rio the toucan is a total thrill, and the private beach is an amazing place to kill an hour or whole day. Staying here is that total package and worth every bit of effort and money. Keep your travel plan, the protests are over and the experience of staying here is once in a lifetime!

Came for 2 weeks - stayed for 2 months. The most beautiful place, the colors, the hammocks, the view, surrounded by nature.. and truly the most stunning beaches we’ve ever seen. I stayed here for 11 nights and i loved it. The new owners are a very nice couple and the employers always so nice and helpful. The private beach, the location, the quietness of the place, the food is good and there is no music in the reception or lounge so the its perfect to relax. Always cleaning the rooms an the ocean view form my room was breathtaking.

We stayed for a week with my family. Quiet retreat in the middle of the jungle with a private beach access. Incredible sunrises if you get up early Highly recommend. Staff was awesome!

What a gem of a place — probably one of the most special places I’ve ever stayed at… Right on the beach (unlike other properties here) with plenty of outside space with hammocks; a private beach; the most amazing owners; the best ever breakfast (homemade yogurt, homemade granola); cocktails with the view — I can go on! Highly, highly recommended if you can get a room

Beautiful hotel in a very nice location. It is a 15-minute ride from the main town, and with buses not running regularly, the best way to get here is by taxi or by renting an electric bike. The remoteness of the hotel really makes it a special place because it is so quiet. The owners are very friendly, the cocktails are nice, it has a little private beach, you can get breakfast and dinner. There is also a kitchen available to cook your own meals.

The cabin rooms offer a lovely view, which is one of their standout features. However, given the price, I did expect a higher standard of hygiene. The bathroom design, being partially open to outside, unfortunately allows insects to enter, which detracts from the comfort of the stay. Additionally, the room lacks air conditioning, which, combined with the minimal facilities, feels quite basic for the cost. While the ambiance and view are appealing, a few improvements in these areas would go a long way toward enhancing the overall experience and justifying the price.

I moved to Tesoro Escondido after a very disappointing stay at Palmar Beach Lodge. I I paid a quarter of what I paid for Palmar, so I was pleased with the affordability. The hotel is right next to the ocean and I enjoyed listening to the crashing waves. I also really like the animals that were everywhere, from the obviously well loved dogs and cats to the toucan that would swoop in to see if there were any snacks for him. Very enjoyable. The only downside was paying for a taxi everytime I needed to go in town, but still, seemed worth it. The staff were all very kind and considerate. The food was decent and I appreciated not having to walk anywhere to eat meals. My room was very basic but for the price, I was totally good with that.
