The Remote Solomon Islands Are a Diver's Paradise in the South Pacific

"At Tetepare, the largest uninhabited island in the South Pacific, residents were limited to a handful of rangers. A century and a half ago, headhunting was a problem here, so the inhabitants fled to safer islands. Now their descendants are keen to save their homeland. They have established a conservation scheme to protect the place from the depredations of loggers, while the E.U. has funded a basic guesthouse for visitors."

Incredible marine environment at Tetepare. I stayed a few days and had an amazing time snorkelling at some brilliant sites. The corals are amazing - saw turtles, rays, reef sharks, bumphead parrotfish, triggerfish, and zillions of other colourful creatures. The visibility was fantastic - my underwater photography not there yet! Went out on a boat to watch the spinner dolphins and then went on a bushwalk with one of the rangers. Delicious meals made from locally sourced ingredients - lots of fish, fresh vegetables, and tropical fruit. Enjoyed staying in simple leaf haus bunglows in a stunning setting.

Awesome place. I got tackled, suffocated, and tortured before I even left the boat! I loved the Stone Age torture tools used on me, and I loved the slave auction I was put even more. I amassed a huge amount of debt and brain damage, multiple concussions, and lost my left arm. It was AWESOME! I would recommend.

I went there and got threatened by 2 men. They took me into a van. On the side of the van there was a lable that said " free M&M's". They took me into the van and drove me to the most Southern point of the island. It was only until a Indian man cam and rescued me. he gave me M&Ms.

Was a great experience, two natives shot me, cut my arm off and ate it. After that they tortured me and ate m&ms infront of me. Great experience, would recommend!
