Yelp
Happy to stumble upon some decent Thai/Vietnamese food in Driggs, Idaho! Teton Thai is part of Teton Village, an indoor/outdoor shopping center in Driggs, and has four tables available for outdoor dining--when we arrived ~5:30PM, all four were seated, but the hostess took our name and phone number and texted when a table became available (~6PM).
Ordered a couple appetizers both of which were served with a raw (not pickled) cabbage/carrot garnish:
- Egg Rolls (veggies and glassy noodles served with sweet and sour sauce and crushed peanuts), which were more like classic spring rolls, and pretty tasty;
- Fried Dumplings (chicken, shrimp, pork, and shiitake mushrooms, served with dried garlic and green onions with sweet sesame soy sauce), which were a bit dry and dense inside, but nicely crispy.
Shared two mains at a "Level 3" (of 5) spice level, and for once the level exactly matched what we expected--if we weren't trying to hike the Grand Tetons the next few days, we'd have pumped it up to a Level 5 to see if it's a truly Thai-level spiciness:
- Ka-Nom Jean (coconut milk, green curry, zucchini, bell peppers, basil, red onions, bean sprouts, lime leaves with chicken served over rice noodles), would have preferred the curry to be served with rice on the side rather than over rice noodles, as they became a bit sodden as they soaked up the curry, and could not then provide relief for the spice--ordered a side of steamed jasmine white rice for that purpose;
- Bison Phở (thin sliced bison, rice noodles, hoisin sauce, basil, cilantro, onion, bean sprouts, jalapenos in house phở broth), delicious! The bison was much like a dry beef, and quite tasty--not at all game-y.
Service was friendly and price seemed on par with city prices. Would definitely return!
