Texas Sculpture Garden – Park Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"Let’s start big picture. Spread across four acres of Hall Park, the Texas Sculpture Garden features 40 contemporary works by some of the state’s most prominent artists. When you first turn in, you might be confused by what appears to be an ordinary office complex. Don’t worry, you’re in the right place. Park near Prosperity Bank and walk back toward Gaylord Parkway to find a plaque that details the garden’s beginnings. From there, download the OtoCast app and search “Hall Park Collection in Frisco” for a free, self-guided audio tour. Many of the narrations are done by the artists themselves in their own Texas drawls. Any must-sees? There are three designated routes, all under 2 miles. If you can only do one, make it the yellow route, which takes you past ponds and fountains, through a wooded area, and to Joe Barrington’s sculpture “The Headlines Screamed, Bait House Disappears.” Rising up out of the water, a giant metallic fish clutches a brown shack in its jaws. It’s more comical than menacing and Barrington encourages the viewer to dream up their own version of events that led to the scene and “walk away with a smile.” Nearby, you’ll also find a coin-operated dispenser for duck and goose food and a bike share station, should you wish to continue on two wheels. Was it easy to get around? Keep an eye out for the colored markers (red, yellow, and blue) on the sidewalk and you won’t have any trouble finding your way. Trees along the path provide ample shade, even in the middle of the afternoon, but there are also picnic tables with umbrellas, plenty of benches sprinkled throughout, and a covered landing next to one of the ponds. If you prefer to drive, most sculptures are also viewable from the road. Word to the wise: Restrooms and water fountains are available inside 6801 Gaylord Parkway on weekdays only. What if we're in a bit of a hurry? If you’re short on time, resist the urge to see it all and instead pay attention to how the sculptures intermingle with Texas’ native flora and fauna. You might spot a turtle sunbathing on a rock next to Jerry Daniel’s steel “Moon Dancers” or see a great white egret fly over David Hickman’s “Butterflies.” There are cacti and magnolia trees, along with larger-than-life depictions of a roadrunner and horned toad. It’s the ability to stop and take it all in amidst the hustle and bustle of the big city that makes this place so special."

This sculpture garden is an absolute treasure! The combination of beautiful artwork and tranquil natural surroundings makes it a perfect spot for a peaceful stroll or a relaxing afternoon. The ponds are often visited by ducks, herons, egrets, and even turtles—adding a serene, almost magical touch to the experience. The grounds are meticulously maintained, and it’s clear that a lot of care goes into keeping the space clean and inviting. I especially appreciate the dog sanitation stations, which make it easy for pet owners to enjoy the park responsibly. Whether you're into art, birdwatching, or just need a quiet place to unwind, this garden offers something special. Highly recommended!

Great place to just walk around, enjoy the scenic water fountains and check out some cool sculptures! The property was well kept, and clean. The paths are clearly marks if you want to make a loop around etc. Little ones had fun chasing turtles back into the water, and getting their energy out running on the grass. Honey bees were super cool too!!!

Went there while visiting Dallas since it was near where we were staying. Texas Sculpture Garden is a 4 acres of unique collection comprised of more than 40 works of contemporary sculpture designed by Texas Artists. The lake, fountains, and walking trails make the experience of the Texas Sculpture Garden to a whole new level. Free admission and open to the public year-round. Enjoyed spending time over here.

Wonderful little place to walk around in! It’s hard to go to the park if you are using a wheeled device (I use a rollator normally) but otherwise really beautiful! We love looking for the turtles!

Google
What a great discovery! I have been there twice taking pictures this week. The art is abundant and unique. After touring the grounds the first visit, I read about additional art pieces inside the Hall Park Building. On the second visit, I was able to see beautiful art pieces in the Lobby. Be sure and pick up a brochure while you are there. The guide includes a map and a list of the artists with images of their artwork. I am already planning on a third visit to tour the Hall Collection which extends from the Dallas Parkway to Warren Parkway. This is a must see!

A medium-sized park, perfect for walking around in. You can easily see all of the statues without getting too tired, it's accessible, and frankly, just downright gorgeous. It was within walking distance from my hotel, so I reccomend you check it out if you stay at the drury nearby.

Yelp
Awesome place and free. The kids enjoyed it, but it was a bit cold out so we didn't spend as much time there as I'd have liked. Indoors there are a few more. I really liked the man perpendicular to the wall and the man hanging from the clock.

Yelp
Open to the public year 'round! What a lovely garden/park in the heart of Frisco. Apparently this has been around for over 2 decades. Who knew? This is a great area for running, hiking and/or biking also. The garden connects to nearby trails and parks as well. Or just come by to admire/take some pics and download an app to hear audio on the history behind each sculpture! The fountains are beautiful as well and there was lots of greenery, flowers, beautiful landscape. Tons of coffee shops/beverage spots nearby to grab a sip or bite to eat too before moseying around. Since I came here for a workout did not venture inside but plan on checking out the indoor sculptures as well! Come enjoy some culture and expand your mind. You will be so glad that you did.

Yelp
Gracious to be opened to the public, inside Hall Business Park, an extensive & extraordinary collection of privately owned sculptures are on display. Beautiful is the landscape in their garden showcasing their collection of whimsical sculptures. Serene are the multiple stark lobbies with their collection of renowned sculptures. A brief visit one can make. For me, different seasons and many visits it'll take for me to fully see and appreciate each of their curated pieces. With a must stop to the first building, paying homage to our Texas sculptors being spotlighted and to say hello to "Elise". CHEERS!

Yelp
Little secret no one talks about but its a great walk with plenty of things to see! Chairs are spread out, people taking photos at golden hour, fun ducks and tons of Pokemon Go stops, what more is there to ask for a (sculpture) garden. I recommend going to their website texassculpturegarden to actually get an idea of what there is to look at, I did not know you could walk and see different things inside the office buildings but there should be more then just the outside garden. So wear some comfortable shoes to check them all out!

Yelp
This is a spectacular collection of modern art set throughout the mixed experience called Hall Park. Green manicured lawns and colorful gardens along with ample water features provides a tranquil experience in the heart of bustling Frisco Texas. There are lots of walking routes as well as places to have a romantic picnic lunch. The Sculptures are quite something to see and are illuminated at night. Just south of "The Star" complex you will notice the north end of Hall Park adding a number of Class AAA high rise office towers, Luxury tower residences as well as new Hall Park Boutique hotel. What a fantastic location for hotel guests wanting to take a stroll right outside the hotel.

Yelp
There are a few more people out here than usual. I consider this a oasis in that it has dozens of places to sit and draw, picnic or just enjoy the sun shine. It's in Hall Office Park and not Officially open to the public but...

Yelp
This is such a cool experience that could so easily overlooked! My boys and I enjoyed looking at the sculptures on our walk as well as enjoying the water fountains - all right in the middle of the city of Frisco!

Yelp
What a gorgeous place to hang! So cool and so fun. My son and I had a great time taking in all of the different sculptures and he was just in awe of the art! I so appreciate that this place is open to public as well. Make sure to check out the indoor sculptures as well as the outdoor ones!

Yelp
Lovely, peaceful green space and intriguing art works. A nice oasis in the midst of lots of new construction. Very much worth the effort if you're in the area and a great amenity for those who office nearby. Unfortunately, the space is not easily walking accessible outside its own office park area. That speaks more to the urban planning of the area rather than the beauty of the garden itself.

Yelp
A lovely escape in the middle of office buildings. A pond garden surrounded by sculptures, curated with a free audio guide which can be downloaded from the App Store. A nice place to walk the kids and the dogs. Plenty of picnic seating and parking available at weekends when the offices are closed.

Yelp
It is a great little pond garden area to walk around while enjoying the creative fun funky sculptures. Pack a lunch and a blanket for a romantic picnic or just to enjoy the fresh Frisco air. 5:30 pm is a perfect time to watch the sunset and to see the art before and after they turn on lights to illuminate their whimsy.

Yelp
My husband and I were staying at a hotel nearby and took our 2 year old son here. It was slightly cooler than the surrounding area due to the water and shade trees. The sculptures, fountains, and copious amount dragon flies made for a pleasant walk.
