Tha Phae Happy House

We stayed here for 1 night and went for MHS loop and came back for few more nights after that, they kept our luggage during our ride. Room is clean and most amenities are provided with friendly and helpful staffs. Location is super nice, walking distance to most places in Chiang Mai city. The only drawback is their standard room is small, especially if you have big luggage.

Just a stone throwaway from the Tha Phae gate attraction which leads into the old city of Chiangmai, this accommodation is located on the eastern side. It has a nice lobby where people can chill and relax. The rooms are quite average. You wouldn’t expect much for the amount paid. I was quite disappointed with the sound proofing of the rooms though and cleanliness can be improved.

My boyfriend and I are currently staying at the Thapae Happy House, originally we were only supposed to be staying 3 nights but extended by a further 4. Firstly the staff here really are lovely, so polite & accommodating. The hotel has a real boutique feel, so much attention to detail in the bedroom & bathrooms. Vanity packs including shampoo, tooth brush & body wash in the bathroom & bedroom decorated with greys & white in color. Very comfy bed, lovely little shower & the room is cleaned daily should you wish (just be sure to hang your sign outside the door) |Breakfast included and absolutely yummy. 5 choices to choose from, eggs cooked to perfection. The breakfast staff are so polite, the reception staff are so polite and accommodating too. 2 free bottles of water every day too which is a nice touch. We even had our laundry done (5kgs worth for 150baht!!) whilst we were here, just dropped it off to reception in evening and we it collected from the reception the following evening. Ironed & separated in to lights and dark! Very pleased :-) one last point, the hotels location is superb. 1 minute walk from Thapae Gate! We happily walked around at night and felt perfectly safe! Chiang Mai is a very special city!! Overall we loved this hidden gem - thank you to the staff for our unintended week long stay, we loved it!!

Room and hospitality is amazing for the price. Despite not having an elevator and i had to climb up 4 levels everyday, this place was perfect and I recommend it for anyone who wants to be around convenience and short walks to restaurants, cafes and bars.

Nice place to stay, located in the city center, very close to Tha Phae Gate. The rooms are clean, and the staff are very friendly and service-minded. They offer various room sizes to suit your needs. If you want to rent a vehicle, the staff can help coordinate with a rental provider. There is no breakfast provided, but there are many restaurants nearby, such as Starbucks, McDonald’s, and several local eateries.

Very convenience location. Close to Tha pae gate and Sunday night market. Staff is very supportive and helpful. No doubt to select this accommodation.

It was a good hotel, located in an excellent area. Everything is within walking distance. The room was small but perfect for one person with a backpack. I arrived late at night, and they had everything ready for me. The check-in process was excellent, and I have no complaints.The pictures are close to reality, but the bathroom photos make it look a bit more perfect than it actually is.There were several good surprises: hot water in the shower, complimentary bottles of water, and although it is not a full breakfast, they provided bread, butter, a toaster, and jelly for free.

This hotel has no stairs for anyone that has heavy luggage, but the staff will assist in carrying. The location is right next to Tha Phae Gate and in a very busy tourist area for those that are looking to eat and drink at restaurants and bars. If you’re looking for somewhere quiet, this is not the place since you can hear music and people late into the night. The room has basic amenities like shampoo and body soap, but nothing else. The AC works well and is cold . Overall it’s a decent stay if you’re on a budget and want to be in a busy area.
