Nice place to stay, located in the city center, very close to Tha Phae Gate. The rooms are clean, and the staff are very friendly and service-minded. They offer various room sizes to suit your needs. If you want to rent a vehicle, the staff can help coordinate with a rental provider. There is no breakfast provided, but there are many restaurants nearby, such as Starbucks, McDonald’s, and several local eateries.

Thapae Happy House in Chiang Mai was the perfect place to stay during Songkran—right in the heart of the action but still offering a peaceful retreat when I needed a break from the water festivities. The room was clean, comfortable, and had a cozy feel that made it easy to unwind after long, fun-filled days. The location couldn’t have been better—just steps from Thapae Gate and close to everything, including food stalls, markets, and all the Songkran excitement. The staff were lovely and always welcoming, adding to the positive experience. A great choice for a festive and comfortable stay in Chiang Mai!

It was a good hotel, located in an excellent area. Everything is within walking distance. The room was small but perfect for one person with a backpack. I arrived late at night, and they had everything ready for me. The check-in process was excellent, and I have no complaints. The pictures are close to reality, but the bathroom photos make it look a bit more perfect than it actually is.There were several good surprises: hot water in the shower, complimentary bottles of water, and although it is not a full breakfast, they provided bread, butter, a toaster, and jelly for free.

This hotel has no stairs for anyone that has heavy luggage, but the staff will assist in carrying. The location is right next to Tha Phae Gate and in a very busy tourist area for those that are looking to eat and drink at restaurants and bars. If you’re looking for somewhere quiet, this is not the place since you can hear music and people late into the night. The room has basic amenities like shampoo and body soap, but nothing else. The AC works well and is cold . Overall it’s a decent stay if you’re on a budget and want to be in a busy area.

Great place to stay, super convenient. The only negative is thin walls - not good for light sleepers that are sensitive to noise.

This is a lovely hotel with really welcoming staff but I think that there is room for improvement.Firstly, I think it is important that they update their profiles on booking websites to avoid the same issues in the future. I was in desperate need of doing a clothes wash and I spent quite some time trying to find a place with the facilities to do it myself. It’s surprisingly hard to find out this information in almost any hotel but it was advertised on trip.com that happy house had a clothes dryer and on bluepillow that they had a washing machine. When I arrived I found out that they had neither, that they do not have even a dry cleaning service (though there is a sign for one) and they direct you to the nearest dry cleaners. While there is no problem with this in itself, I think it’s important to make this clear to customers before they book. As for my room, it was really clean and very cute but it had very little free space to put my stuff. I’m backpacking so I need a shelf or something to elevate my bags so that I can go through them. I think it would be optimal to change the room I had into a single room with a double bed and to push the bed to the side of the room to make space for a shelf of some sorts. A proper rack to hang clothes wouldn’t go astray either.Although I found myself slightly frustrated at the start of my stay I think that all in all I think it is deserving of good reviews, but constructive criticism from others could be useful for them to improve in the future.
