Tha Sadet Market

Tha Sadet Market is one of the largest and most well-known markets in Nongkhai. It used to be very busy and packed with visitors, but nowadays it feels quieter. Still, it’s a great place to explore, especially for cheap souvenirs, snacks, and local products. You’ll find everything from dried goods to clothes and imported items. It may not have the same buzz as before, but it’s still worth a stroll if you’re in town.

I visited during the week so maybe the vibe of the market was a bit flat and many stalls were opening later than expected. With it being quiet it was great to just walk around without feeling rushed but it was missing that buzz you would normally get from local markets. It’s worth a visit but nothing special. A weekend visit may feel a bit different.

I love this marked areas it’s just has a different vibe to it and the shops are just PACKED with all things you could ever image and then a bit more. Easy to visit also on rainy days as there’s a roof covering all of the marked area. Very authentic and prices are among the cheapest you will find in Thailand in general. Go see this place. It’s most definitely a must visit place in Nong Khai

Travelled from UndonThani to Nong Khai approx (40 minutes) to see the market which wasvevery thing we expected. Got lots of bargains, plenty to choose from as the shops just go on and on. I had pizza and a iced coconut drink for lunch. There for about 2 hours. Nicebbeing beside the Meekong River.

Feels never ending, loads of stuff to look around - almost overwhelming

The food is okay but not amazing. Quite expensive but a lovely spot to sit and enjoy. The staff are very friendly.

The cafe at the old pier building was classic and enjoyable. Nice for a cup of coffee and watching the river flows by. The market itself was quiet during weekeday.

Typical tourist market. Many of the same thing. However lots of choices. Venture are friendly and there are many food options!
