Thai Island Restaurant

We had ordered Thai Basil Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken dumplings, Spring roll and Thai Basil Tofu fried rice. Food was good, dumplings were a bit dry, could have been better. But fried rice was flavorful and I would recommend to eat along with one spicy side they give.

The food was fantastic, and the atmosphere was great! Plus, the customer service was truly commendable.

Great service! It was hot and muggy so we ate inside. Outside they only had one fan not worth the view of the marina. I got the shrimp pad Thai no spice. It was very sweet and the cabbage wasn’t cooked into the food. It was raw and on the side. The spring rolls were delicious & I ordered the peanut sauce to go with it. Husband ordered chicken fried rice; he said it was fine. We won’t be returning not with the $61 ticket price. They charged us $4 for a bottled water as well.

Visited Key West on a family vacation and found Thai Island—so glad we did! The food was tasty, fresh, and reasonably priced, with a warm, homely atmosphere. The Thai chili snapper fish was absolutely delicious. Not to mention the restaurant is situated nicely overlooking the water. A wonderful find we’d definitely recommend!

This is such a great place and a must try if you’re anywhere in Key West! The service is outstanding!!! The food is absolutely phenomenal! The sushi rolls are fresh and large. Totally worth every penny. We had leftovers we had to wrap up to go. My husband & I ate there for lunch. Great views from the second floor deck. The menu will have choices for anyone’s taste or cravings. We both had a bowl of the miso soup. The BEST! The seaweed salad and house salads were also so good and refreshing. My husband’s favorite is the crab rangoon and the spring rolls were light and stuffed with veggies. We also tried the lobster roll and tuna roll. I can’t even explain how great this place is!! Just go!!

The sushi was delicious, the service was awesome, and the atmosphere was relaxing. I usually got sushi and Thai tea, the tea being suggested by their staff. It was an awesome experience away from home. I 100% recommend it! They do take out and dine in, they do pick up and they might do delivery.

Thai Island Restaurant is awesome! I had the summer rolls, sashimi, and pad Thai, and everything was super fresh and full of flavor. The summer rolls were light and tasty, the sashimi was top-notch and really fresh, and the pad Thai hit all the right notes—sweet, savory, and just plain delicious. The service was great too—super friendly and quick. It’s a great spot if you’re craving some solid Thai food. I’ll definitely be back!

Came here for a friend's birthday dinner and it was a great time. The service was on point and they were patient with our big party and accommodated so well with us. The ambiance is not fancy, very chill, but the food was great. I ordered the Sweetheart Roll and it came so cute, shaped like hearts! The flavor was great and the portions were as well. To drink I wasn't expecting them to have espresso martinis but I asked... and they did!! And I will add they were delicious!! Overall, great experience here. According to other reviews the bathrooms are dirty but I didnt use the restroom while dining here so I can't agree/deny that. I would come back!

This restaurant not accessible without using the stairs. Enter the bar and go up to the restaurant. The stairs are fine. Not too skinny like many in the keys. The staff is super nice and quite eager to accommodate. I was down during Fantasy Fest and this was off the beaten path so it was not too busy. I ordered a mojito. Immediately the waitress asked if I liked sweet or not. I said not and the drink was perfect. The mint was muddled correctly; it was not beat to a pulp. The beef salad was tasty. I've had better but everything was fresh I ordered a 4 (Thai spicy) and it had a little heat but not a number 4. I am a tough sell on beef salad because it's my favorite and I've had many epic renditions. This was about a 7 of 10. More spice would have made it an 8. Crushed roasted rice would have made it a 9. The pad Thai was outstanding. I hope they didn't just get lucky, because it's in my top 5 best ever. The lobster was extremely fresh...It called me nasty names every time I bit into it. Typical for Fantasy Fest. It was naturally sweet and tender and went with the main dish better than I'd imagined. The ambiance is great anywhere eating outside in the keys if you love an island feel. The mesh chairs are uncomfortable. Before I could tell the waitress she brought me a nice wooden chair that was great. I caught a glimpse of the dining area inside and it looked much nicer than the deck. It might be more appropriate for date night. Next time I'll try the choo chee snapper and a dirty Thai tea.

I went here after a TikTok recommendation. The lobster pad Thai is one of the most popular items and the pad Thai was pretty solid but the lobster was a bit tough. We also got the crab Rangoon which was some of the best we've ever had. We heard from locals that it has some of the best sushi in Key West but unfortunately we didn't get any. We will go back. It's on the expensive side IMO but we were on vacay so worth it

Sitting at this restaurant looking at some of my friends chicken fried rice come out looking like a white rice bowl with slavers of clean bleached white substance that is supposed to be chicken. My spicy snapper was grossly not flavored. I did not

Went here on our last day of vacation for lunch...The crab rangoons are a MUST!! We also got the lobster pad Thai which was very good and enough to share! We opted to sit inside but they do have a nice view of the water too.

A quaint hidden gem located above the dive bar was unexpected. The sushi rolls were enormous and the crispy duck crispy and juicy. Ambiance was very airy on the balcony. Light breeze to cool you done while enjoying a delightful meal.

Best Pad Thai food on the island, I went with the chicken but the shrimp and lobster are also great. Crab Rangoons are delicious, peppered which was a surprise but still great. Parking for this place is almost impossible. Inside over looks a small bay which is pretty. Workers are friendly and helpful. Take out available.

The food was good, however if I used the restroom before I ate, I would have walked out. One single bathroom that included a urinal, the floors the door was absolutely filthy.

We ordered various entrees to share family style and also a few drinks such as Thai tea and Thai iced coffee. We also ordered 2 sticky rice and mango which were to die for. We found Thai island when we were getting ready to leave Key West. It's on the second level and the restaurant gives a very different ambiance than the bar below it. We asked for medium spice for everything and it was perfect for our group. The service was impeccable and the lady was sweet as could be. Will definitely come back when we are in town again!

Our experience for lunch is not bad. Dinner is a bit expensive. The restaurant is at the second floor elevated for a view to the inner bay. Parking is available at the boat marina. We got two bento box for the lunch. The lunch box is the way to go. The bento box has sashimi, nigiri, California roll, fried roll, seaweed salad. We got the tempura and the poke. The tempura is below average. The poke is tuna poke. Food is good enough quantities. They are not spectacular but deliver the need. Sashimi is three different fish. Service is a bit slow. The place is easily pack.

What a treat. We sat on the deck and enjoyed a beautiful breeze and view of the water. Everyone had suggested we have the crab Rangoon but honestly they were Ok, not anything outstanding and not bad the coconut cream cheesecake was a unique take on this legendary item. I had the vegetarian stir fry which was aromatic but the vegetables on the firm firm side. Service is prompt and no frills. The location is an issue and is a bit of a drive from the main drag in Key West

As soon as our flight landed, we walked into the Circa 1970's airport reception terminal only to ask Tina, a local rental car agent where to find a good meal? With a big smile and an expedient answer, we were told of all the places be sure to go to Thai Island restaurant and sushi bar. After discovering a drought of adequate dining in all of Key West, we did in fact take that advice and boy were we glad we did! We discovered a locals hotspot with fantastic food and outdoor ambience down by the boat dock to rival the best of such dining. With a very extensive menu, we found ourselves enjoying what was easily the best meal we had in our four days in Key West!

Food very tasty. Rice and portion size is a lot good for sharing. We were very disappointed with the wait staff upon arrival we got warm drinks while other tables received ice water. Waiter was very slow / wait time was long. We ate dinner outside on the patio over looking small bridge nice family setting. Restaurant is upstairs so be prepared. But must highlight the food is very good.

Thai fried rice island combo; shrimp tempura roll and fried tofu - everything fresh and delicious!! Would definitely recommend !

We loved our meal here - generous potions and willingness to add tofu to my meal since I prefer to be vegetarian. The waiter was kind and patient. Our meal came out very quickly. Lovely ambiance on the deck and they even provided a full moon which another worker came over pointed out as it was spectacular. Support the nice people!

Had the Christmas meal here at Thai island. Both the food and service are great. Our favorite are the beef salad and duck curry. Pad se ew and fried rice are also good - have all kinds of meat. In the past few days, we tried a few restaurants in key west - expensive and average, so this Thai place is a surprise and we hoped we found it earlier...

The crab Rangoon is the best I've ever had! The lobster pad Thai was amazing too. I can't wait to go back.

I stopped here for a late lunch with a couple girlfriends while on our last day of vacation. Fantastic! I think my favorite was the crab Rangoon - hands down best I've ever had!

Food was amazing! Great ambience and waitress! My only complaint: Hostess was very rude throughout experience she gave us attitude three times while we were here. All we wanted was a table to sit at and there were many spots available but she didn't want to push a few together and once she did, she gave us some rude comments. Even was rude when we left as well. Would come back for the food and other staff.

Absolutely amazing food! Roger made you feel right at home & welcomed. Indoor seating, outdoor seating as well as bar seating. If you sit outside you are right on the water & it's beautiful. I would definitely return, the sushi was delicious.

Thai Island is located up the stairs from a slightly seedy looking bar. Don't worry, you only have to take 2 steps inside to reach the stairs to a really good restaurant. We ordered fried spring rolls, house salad, rainbow salad, chicken pad thai, and vegetable Massanan curry. All seemed as authentically prepared as I've ever tasted.

I'm a Key West local and Thai Island is the best restaurant on the island. Their extremely generous with the fish in their rolls, sushi and sashimi. The staff is very courteous and professional. I promise you will walk away satisfied and you will revisit Key West just to repeat the experience.

The curry is delicious! I got the pork curry, it's mostly veggies and a perfect serving for one. My meal came out quick and did I say the curry is delicious! Upstairs is the restaurant and mini bar, downstairs is the full bar for night life. Let me just say the outside seating filled soon after I arrived at 6.30pm. I'll definitely return here during my stay in KW!

Me and my fraind went to this place, they have a very good food. We order few sushi rull and we like so much. Im very recommend about this place !! They serve the food on littel boat. Tge owner was super nice and i can tell they amazing. Thank you so much !!

Food was lacking in flavor-especially pad Thai rice. Ample shrimp. Crispy duck was good. Had to get up and ask for a waiter 3 times. Service was absent. Had to ask for someone to order, for further assistance and for takeout boxes and the bill! No wheelchair access. Upstairs seating was just ok but not comfortable enough because of outdoor dining coming and going. I would never return.

I had the great good fortune of having my company send me to Key West, FL to conduct work for the next couple weeks!! My first lunch was Thai food at Thai Island restaurant. It was just a 10 minute walk from my hotel. I like Thai food and couldn't resist trying Thai Island's offerings. I ordered my favorite Thai dish, pineapple fried rice with chicken. If anyone is out there following me, you probably know that I enjoy spicy food. So, it shouldn't surprise you to know that I ordered my meal "Thai Hot". When the server heard me say that she said oh no! Thai Hot is very hot! That is 5 star hot, I will give you 4 star hot. I let her talk me in to having only 4 star hot. That was a disappointment. Don't get me wrong, the dish was very tasty and NOT disappointing at all. I was disappointed with the spice level. I told my server that the food was very tasty but it wasn't hot! I promised to order Thai Hot on my next visit and she said ok. The restaurant was very clean and there were two seating areas inside and one outside under a cover to protect against the Key West sunshine. Just a quick tip... for those that have not been to Thai Island... their restaurant is above the bar. So, when you enter the bar door there is a stairway leading up to the restaurant. If you enjoy Thai food and haven't visited Thai Island, you should!!

I love this place! The food is absolutely delicious and fresh. I ordered the chicken Katsu , which comes with a hoison tasting sauce and the volcano roll. Honestly the best volcano roll I've ever had. The service is quick and the waiters are very attentive. The view is nice it's right beside a dock which means it's a little more humid than usual, but you can choose to eat inside!

Extensive menu but only thing I enjoyed was the whole fried fish. Spouse enjoyed his dragon roll but rest of the entrees were cold and not prepared well.

Found this gem on TikTok and was definitely a spot to dine in! The Sashimi is fresh and yummy, and we loved the baby octopus! The Pad Thai was such a big portion we had to take the rest back to the hotel! Not only the portion was huge, it was super delicious. Duck was crispy and noodles were sweet and savory. The lobster was cooked well too! Our server was really nice and helpful. She made sure our drinks were filled and we were doing okay. The restaurant was quiet due to the fact that we came in at 3pm, it was clean and had a nice view out in the marina. I definitely recommend this place and worth the try!

Thai Island always serves fresh tasty food at reasonable prices. You can't go wrong at Thai Island.

I've eaten here twice writing this review. The Pad Thai was incredible and definitely on my top 3 pad thai places. Our server was so funny and entertaining and got our food very quickly. I sat in the patio area right next to the water and had great view of the marina.

Came here for dinner this week and was pleasantly surprised on how nice it was. Everyone was friendly and attentive. We tried the gyoza and fried avocado appetizers which were delicious! We tried the Asian Pear Sake, first timers trying sake and it was very good. For dinner we tried a few sushi rolls and they were perfectly made and fresh. The outdoor seating on the balcony is beautiful and gives you a nice view of the water and boats. They have an extensive menu that I can't wait to try more of sometime. Parking could be hard to come by in the lot. We luckily didn't have an issue.

Came across this bar while riding bikes in Key West. Right off the highway , with a marina and boat mooring just behind the bar. Had a few cool drinks, learned they filmed a James Bond movie scene here. Staff was friendly, will return for dinner soon.

A true DIVE BAR experience at a Thai restaurant. Good food and lots of sushi selections. Service is meh and it looks like the place hasn't been renovated in YEARS!!

Had dinner this week. We loved everything. Nam Sod, my favorite, curry puffs, mango and sticky rice and more. Nice people and good service. Always on our list when in Key West.

We ordered a few dishes, soups, and egg rolls for takeout. None were very flavorful and all were sub par in portion size, protein and veg content, seasoning. We were disappointed and so hoping for a better outcome. We nt be back.

3rd time in Key west and I've always stuck with local seafood restaurants. So happy I ran across with Thai restaurant. It was surprisingly good and not too pricey compared to other restaurants in the area. Is it the best Thai food/sushi I've ever had, no but it was really good for the area and very satisfying. I would return to this restaurant not only for the food but our server Roger was an absolute delight. He had such an amazing personality and was super upbeat. I looked around the restaurant and all the other workers seemed kinda dull. So happy Roger was serving us and made my whole family laugh while providing the best experience!!

While on vacation in the Keys, I was craving some Thai food and this was closest place to my hotel. The restaurant is actually next to the water with plenty of parking spaces. The restaurant shares a downstairs bar but it is actually upstairs and you have to take the stairs up. We were greeted right away and it was pretty dead but we were there on a Monday night. I ordered the Green Curry Beef, Nam Tok, and my date ordered the Tom Yum Seafood. My Green Curry Beef tasted good and I love the Nam Tok salad. The portions were very nice and generous. I tried my date's soup and it was okay. Not a huge fan. The waitress brought out fried soft shell crab for us to try, and it was the bomb! All in all, I enjoyed the place and recommend if it your wanting some Thaj food in the area.

We always crave some type of Asian food every where we go so when we saw this spot, we knew we had to give it a try. I will say food is authentic Thai food but a little on the saltier side, which my husband loves! We ordered seafood with basil, red snapper with ginger, crab with kreung, curry fried rice and Thai iced tea. This satisfied our hunger for Asian food (for the moment). The waiter was very nice and spoke a little of our language (khmer).

Had lunch here and it was good. We sat on the patio which has nice view of the water and boats plus loads one fish in the water. We ordered the drunken noodles , Penang curry and steak salad. The noodles was super yummy with a strong flavor and sweetness. The panang curry was absolutely delicious and I liked the salad although the sourness/vinegar was very strong in it. Overall, we really liked it and the service was fast and courteous.

First off they have CNN on and I'm trying to enjoy my dinner. That's all Food is good, I recommend the Lobster Pad Thai

Not the best ambiance but pretty good service and the sashimi is delicious. Bathroom cleanliness is hit or miss but they do have lots of parking which is great for key west. We will go back.
