Thaiwoo Ski Resort

Excellent ski area just outside of Beijing. Quite limited in number of pistes but I thought the price and quality of snow was good

It was my first time skiing and it was a fantastic experience. The routes are quite long, with many multiple route catering to various skill levels. The only downside is that the beginner routes and ski lifts were rather crowded; quite a bit of time was spent queueing up for the lifts.

Nice short getaway from Beijing for skiing via the 1-1 5 hour fasttrain to Taizicheng station, and shuttle to the Thaiwoo town center. Slopes are especially windy, and upper slopes were icy, even with the snowmaking machines

The venue of 2022 Winter Olympics! Wonderful facilities with many ski slopes! You can enjoy up many of slopes combinations on every ski by going through different intersection! Expecting more hotel and food facilities come! The only remaining star belong to the poor road infrastructure from Chongli, but seems it will be improve after the new expressway open in 2020!

Affordable but beware that there will be a few unauthorised instructors who will follow you around to tout their services even if you reject them. Overall facilities are of decent quality but there is no ban on smoking so you will find cigarette butts in the snow and smokers around while you ski. If you are looking to rent skis at the high speed rail station, beware of this one “北极熊雪具店太子城高铁站” (bei ji xiong xue ju dian tai zi cheng gao tie zhan). The staff smoke indoors, ignore customers and do not help them to pick out suitable ski gear, and have a very nasty attitude. The ski equipment and attire are in terrible condition too. They also caused us to miss our high speed rail, and we had to spend 4 hours lingering around the barren city before the next train.

Amazing ski resort for beginners! We stayed at Hyatt Place and it was almost right below the ski slopes. F&B options were plentiful. You can rent everything from ski clothes to butt pads so do not worry if you come with 0 equipment. Instructors were the best, I suggest you ask for Arno, he is extremely patient and teaches well. Only con was that the slopes closes at 4.30pm, which is quite early.

Ok beginner mountain bike trails. Not much for intermediate or advanced. Lots of Summer daily activities at the bottom.

Where was not much to see as it was close when we visited. They was no skiing going on the day as its the Olympics and no game scheduled for that day. Am working in Beijing as a chef and all very restricted due to corona. All in all it looks like a nice place to visit and I took lots of pictures.
