The food was the best food we had in Vietnam so far! We had a variety of dishes that each were amazing. The staff is also super friendly, we even got some complimentary lychees for dessert. Also very nice and calm atmosphere. We would definitely recommend eating here!

This is without doubt my favourite spot to eat in Tam Coc. This is a lovely little family run restaurant that serves big portions. I had the fish with tamarind sauce and it was gigantic, and perfectly cooked. The host was wonderful and friendly. Highly recommended.

First meal we had after being very ill. Although it was plain (which is exactly what we wanted), it was really good—and the homemade chips were delicious. It’s a family-run business, and they’re very sweet and kind. The prices are very reasonable, and the food is genuinely great. We’ll definitely be coming back for some proper food.

Do you order fish 🐟 when you eat out? I usually don't. Why? Cause fish at restaurants usually is super expensive, no matter the type of preparation. If the only thing a restaurant does is add some salt and throw the fish in the oven, I think I can do that at home and I don't have to pay €60 for it. 🤷 There's an exception though: at Asian restaurants, they usually manage to sell their fish for a reasonable price, even though they usually prepare it in a way more complex manner. 👏 That's true for Asian restaurants in Europe 🇪🇺 and that's true in Asia too. In Tam Cốc, Ninh Binh, Vietnam 🇻🇳, we went to a place called Thảo Béo where we ordered a few common dishes like fried rice or noodles, and a fish 🐟, like the whole animal, to share. In this case, the preparation wasn't too complexe as it was fried, but it was excellent and it was cheap, just VND150K (€5)! And for the whole meal, we paid less than VND100K, which is less than €4 per person! All the food was good, comfort food good (but not "I will never forget this meal" good). On top of it, they had banana 🍌 fritters as a dessert. I love that! 😋 The owner, who attended us, was very nice and she seemed happy to see my brother in law who had already been there several times. The place is enormous, ideal for big parties, and it's nicer than most places around (but I wouldn't say it's beautiful). Quality & taste: 8/10 Quantities: 9/10 Atmosphere: 7/10 Originality: 7/10 Ratio price / quality: 10/10 Service: 10/10 How I felt afterwards: 9/10

Nice tucked away eatery. The owner went out of her way and walked me through the entire menu. I settled for coconut chicken and stir fried eggplants with lemon juice. The food was yummy overall but even though I had indicated I would like my chicken a bit spicy, it tasted rather bland. The eggplant was cooked to the point, not undercooked or overcooked, and came in a delicious sauce. The lemon tea was refreshing. After the meal, I got complimentary lychees and the owner took some time to chat with me which was added to the family vibes of the places. Definitely a good dining experience, just make sure you go all in for spiciness :)

Lovely restaurant in a quiet part of Tam Coc. Local cuisine with much cheaper prices than almost everywhere else. Hotplate goat and iced coffee were amazing! Lady owner also gave us some complimentary watermelon for dessert. I'll definitely return if I come back to Ninh Binh!

Amazing spot! The fresh shrimp spring rolls were some of the best I’ve ever had. Super kind owners and great service. They took my dietary needs seriously. Highly recommend!

The food is delicious. There are many vegetarian options, and the lady who runs the restaurant is adorable. I ate there every day during my trip and was never disappointed ☺️🩷
