Thao Dien Village

I loved everything about this place especially the quiet surroundings but filled with so many near by cafes and restaurants and a $7 taxi to city center. The staff here were all amazing, great breakfast, wonderful room that was comfortable, beautifully decorated and excellent price. Lovely pool area and bathroom too. Hats off to the owners who made this my favorite stay in my month in Vietnam....so much so that I extended my stay from 3 to 6 days!

We flew to Vietnam to attend a wedding that was held here & absolutely loved it. Our room was on ground floor right next to the pool which all guests use but we didn’t find that a problem as it’s a fairly small hotel. We stayed 3 nights & ate breakfast there each morning and enjoyed every dish we ate. The staff were wonderful and the bed comfortable. Room was spotless & stylish. There is some construction nearby currently but I think it would be difficult to find a place in this city that’s not in this situation. A few food & drink options in walking distance were great too. Highly recommend

We went for the day here as suggested by our friend who’s living in the area, cost 275k each for pool and facilities which overall was good value. Firstly, Thao Dien is a more western area where a lot of ex-pats live so its slightly more expensive then the middle of HCM, so while you may think 275k is pricey it’s good value considering.||We were given two towels each and had plenty of ice loungers to choose from around the pool. There are loungers under cover by the river but we wanted to be pool side. It wasn’t busy and the only other people were westerners really. ||Pool was clean and a good temperature, yes the poolside toilets are not ideal but they’re not exactly filthy. However, if you seek out the locker rooms they have showers, toilets and sinks all good quality in nice air conditioned room (down the stairs near the gym!) - you’re welcome.||Pool side service was fine, keep the menus for food and drink and just seek out one of the staff when you want something. It all runs on a tab system so you don’t this pay till you leave. The bill includes a 5% service fee so you don’t need to worry about tipping! Cash or card are fine, they weren’t fussy at all.||3 cuisines available from the restaurant, had a really good risotto as wanted something western. It’s ex-pat prices but still not what you’d pay back home at all. ||If you want a day out somewhere quiet by a pool this place is perfect. Just slightly dated in places but staff were friendly the whole time. Sometimes just point a bit at what you want!

I am surprised reading the negative reviews about this place. It is true, as one reviewer noted, that the pictures are misleading in that the huge pool shown doesn't exist these days. It does have a nice pool, but it is small, and doesn't front the river. That said, the grounds are stunningly beautiful--very well planted and lush, which is really nice, given the hot Vietnam sun. It has a large bar and several dining options along the Saigon river--which is really a nice setting to relax.||||My experience regarding the service and attitude of staff is the opposite of many reviewers--I thought the staff was very friendly, and extremely engaged and helpful--perhaps the negative review were taken to heart--but whatever, I saw nothing negative about the staff. It is true they are relaxed, so if you are in a rush, or just want faster service--just ask. I don't think they are inattentive--they are just relaxed. And, were always very accommodating when I was there.||||My room was very nice. Clean, modern, and I really liked it.||||The location is in a more westernized section of Ho Chi Minh--I preferred that not because I cared about westernized feel--but because it is a newer section of the city--and about 10 minutes from the downtown, and it is therefore much more relaxed and peaceful. Saigon is a riot of action, so I like having a more subdued place to relax--it is very easy to get into Saigon for sight seeing or whatever.

Great Place. The sitting near the river side was awesome. Cool wind throughout. Nice clean rooms. Good food and beverages. Enjoyed my 3 day stay. The hotel management has done a good job on keeping the insects and mosquitoes away by regular fumigation as it's a very green place.

Vinh is a fantastic manager and helped ensure I was comfortable and had everything I needed when I arrived tired after my journey. Grateful for the hotel's measures to be ecologically aware as well. I hope the hotel can invest in a larger and more visible sign - the driver had a difficult time locating it.

One year ago this hotel had a big nice swimming pool nex to the river. Also a big area next to the pool with a lot of sun beds and furniture. Today most of the hotel is gone. Only the small house at the side is left. The big swimming pool is not there. A small (but nice) is still there. Before you could se families here with children. Not any more. Ok if you like a small hotel and a small pool the hotel is nice. A very quiet area and you can walk to the restaurants. Service in the hotel is very good. The restaurant service is very poor. Breakfast is ordered from a meny in the morning.
