This is a great restaurant with a very lovely patio at the back overlooking the docks. The food is excellent and the staff are friendly, courteous and fast. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Google
Small cozy family style Italian restaurant. We were seated near the back. Ordered the arancini for the app and specials of the day butternut squash ravioli and the chicken parm with risotto. Rice balls were nice and hot. My favorite was the yellow risotto cooked with saffron. Creamy and tasty. The butternut squash ravioli had decent flavour. Service was OK. The pop seems to be from a fountain machine. They also provide bread for you to dip with olive oil and balsamic vinegar

Delicious food, excellent friendly service, great price point! We had the Burrata, fettuccine puttanesca, fettuccine Alfredo, tiramisu! A great little Italian gem in Huntsville! Can’t wait to visit again!

Google
Great Meal! Would recommend to anyone looking for a fresh dealious Italian meal. Great looking clean restaurant with friendly staff and even better food. Will return to anytime I am staying in the huntsville area and am in the downtown.

We were thrilled with everything..especially our server, Enrique!!! He was great. So personable and fun. He made our dining experience so memorable. He made us a wonderful Pina Colada and suggestions for our meal. The special of butternut squash ravioli was absolutely delicious. Thank you

Google
We ate very tasty creamy pesto pasta and gnocchi! The people are great, very kind, lots of laughing and fun, thanks a lot!

Google
Their seafood pasta surprised and delighted me. Usually, tomato sauce pasta tends to be a bit watery and thin, but their seafood pasta was done really well. The pizza is good too. It's busy. We waited for 20 minutes.

Google
delectable food and phenomenal service Food was to our liking. Service staff was very attentive and welcoming. We loved the experience. Also, vegetarian options available.

Yelp
Cozy place with a fantastic patio! I highly recommend the patio and not the indoor seating since it's near a lake outside and well the weather is amazing whenever most people visit Huntsville. The linguini Alfredo with blue cheese and chicken was a solid 4.5/5 and it was a bit too dry for my taste and not creamy enough. The chicken Parm panini was awesome! 5/5

Yelp
Left before entrees came because it was 50 min and still counting. Server was friendly but clueless in every way. The kitchen or kitchen staff or both cannot seem to handle the size of restaurant AND doing to-go. Should be one star ... but I own a restaurant and will give them professional courtesy. Pricey - awful service - never got the food. Won't be back ....

Frank B.

Yelp
Food = Blah Service = Awful Timing = + 1 hour for food Atmosphere = 5/10 Waitres = 5/10 The excuse for the food taking so long was that she had a large table outside that took priority lol Never again! Not worth it.

Yelp
Poor Service. The staff is not friendly and it spoils the entire experience. Its as if they are doing you a favour by talking to you.

Yelp
We read the reviews and thought we would try it out - they did not disappoint from great service, awesome wine selection and the best pasta we've had since Italy!

Yelp
Nothing but good things to say about this restaurant! Service was excellent. Food was even better! I had Butternut squash ravioli and hubs had the lasagna. We split the Speck appetizer and each had a drink. Bill was under $100 with a tip. We sat inside,it was cozy. Restaurant was clean and waitress attentive. You should go !

Yelp
Great find with extensive menu. Can't beat the view! Was there for lunch and had the panini. Yummy

Yelp
This place has the best mushroom ravioli! So creamy and umami. Came here for lunch on it way to camping in Algonquin. Saw great reviewers and decided to check it out. Right before we entered, a local family walking by said "great choice!" and I knew we made a good choice. Our server was super friendly and enthusiastic. He knew so much about the food and the restaurant. He said we couldn't go wrong with anything on the menu but gave us an idea of their most popular dish which is the mushroom ravioli. As I've started the review saying that I'm going to move on. The over roasted speck tasted great but I would have preferred it to be a bit crispy on the outside. It is also a bit pricey. I really liked the Rose sauce in the gnocchi. I'm not a huge fan of gnocchis in general so I don't think I'm the best judge for that. The gelato comes in two so you can mix and match flavors, and the two we picked was a good combination and a great way to end the meal. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area.

Yelp
If you have children and are looking for a family friendly restaurant to have a nice meal in a nice environment, please avoid this place. I came here to have lunch with my family. One of the servers kept staring at my children. My son started singing Christmas songs and she came up to us and said "WOW" and she made a dissapointed face and left. I asked her if there was a problem and she said no. However, the owner came back to our table and raised his voice asking if there was a problem with us. Children can be loud at times, but by no means my children were loud enough to disrupt/ disturb anyone having their meal at the time. No one else really minded or even heard them. What an unfortunate experience. As a woman married to an Italian, I know that their culture is filled with good food and kind people and here we experienced none.

Yelp
Nice little restaurant with great food. We left satisfied. It's a great place to head out to for a little upscale dining, particularly when you're at the trailer.

Lauren W.

Yelp
We return for the food, not the service. Our family have been summer residents for 60 years. Manny, the host, should find a new career in a field that does not require customer service. If we ran our businesses with the same standards of service, we would be finished. They are lucky to be in a position of limited choice

Yelp
We ate here on Friday night. My kids shared a pizza! I had a bruschetta pizza, my husband had a pasta dish! We all throughly enjoyed our meals!

Yelp
This was one of the recommended places in town. What a treat this place was. The staff are very courteous. I would also recommend that you call ahead just in case because it can get busy especially in the winter time. The over roasted speck is a must have starter. I would prefer that they roast this at a higher temp just to get it crispier than just the edges, but it they way it's done creates contrast in textures. My wife loved it as is. The salty crispness of the speech was well complimented by the tangy sweetness of the tomato and balsamic glaze. My wife ordered the mushroom ravioli. This was a rich umami and earthy plate of ravioli, and despite getting full, she devoured the dish. The trout and risotto were also good. I'm not an olive person but the olives here cooked down in flavour and we're very mild. The brightness of the trout and sauce complimented well with the more rich and earthy risotto. The highlight for me was the gelato. They give you two scoops so you can combine or double up on the flavours of your choosing. Both the strawberry and mango were nice and bright and balanced on the sweetness. My wife's tiramisu was also very decadent but also light. If you're ever in Huntsville come by for a meal.

Yelp
Mediocre food at most. The pasta was over cooked, under seasoned and missing the main ingredients. The pizza tasted like they heated up frozen flat bread. What a disappointing meal.

Yelp
Our favorite place to eat in Muskoka! New patio is awesome! Pizza, chicken piccata, TLP salad are all hidden gems!!! This family owned business is a must visit when in Huntsville!!

Yelp
Really pleasant surprise. Didn't seem like it would be impressive as we walked in. Not a pretentious place that seems very family oriented and focuses on good quality Italian food. Appetizer was great. Salad was the only item that was below average. Both pastas we got were awesome. On par with some well known Italian spots in Toronto that on this same tier. Didn't expect that in a smaller area like gravenhurst. Service was great no complaints. Saw some signs for student discounts which was encouraging to see and I'm sure local students appreciate that. They have some fire hot sauces on the side. I know that's not a standard expectation or mix with Italian food but if that's your palate and want to try it out, make sure to ask. They brought out 2 different kinds and both were awesome. In the area for good food, definitely check this out. Well located downtown as well.

Yelp
After coming back from National Park we were very hungry and decided to find a place with good pasta. The place was pretty busy, though we got seated pretty fast. Food was good.

Yelp
The reviews lived up to the expectations. The complimentary bread was great and we paid to get some more! Ordered the Primavera pizza and added chicken which was so good! We also got the seafood linguine but changed the white wine sauce to a spicy marinara which was really delicious. Beef barley soup for appetizers was average. Tiramisu for dessert was yummy! The only downside was that it was a busy place, wait time was long and we could see that they were waiting for us to leave so that others could be seated. However, it was Nuit Blanche that weekend so the rush could've been the busy busy feel!

Yelp
I wasn't sure what to expect here based on the huge range of reviews. We were in the mood for pizza so it seemed the likely choice. It doesn't have the greatest ambiance, that's for sure. There are few tables with the other half of the area with display cabinets with take away and Italian ice cream. But the pizza was very good, as was the service. It was November so there was no wait. We were told some of the pasta is made in house, that's a plus. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the interior doesn't have that restaurant feel, more like a take out place.

Troy S.

Yelp
Good food, good prices, good service, MISERABLE experience. 32 degrees in the dining room (according to their thermostat). I had to leave halfway through my dinner as I'd sweat through my shirt. A truly unpleasant experience. As we left carrying our food they said the AC was "broken". By scanning past reviews it appears that it's been broken for a few years now. Why lie? I'd already left the tip. I'm sure they save a lot on electricity though and all they have to sacrifice is the comfort of their patrons. I suppose when you cater primarily to tourists and seasonal customers repeat business isn't a concern.

Wilbert M.

Yelp
The food is top-notch! No surprise it was featured on The Food Network's "You Gotta Eat" here. I really enjoyed the Mushroom Ravioli, the Antiplasto Platter, the Frutti di Mare, oven-roasted speck... All winners! Definitely a place to try in Huntsville! A+++

Yelp
Cute family owned place. Expect to wait in line, particularly because it is one of only a few restaurants in the area it seems. My colleague and I came here and had to be out at a certain time. We asked if the waiter thought we would be okay, and we weren't impressed with how rude he was, not seeming to give a crap whether we stayed or left. In fact, it seemed more like he WANTED us to leave. He told us that everybody had just ordered, though we could see some tables appearing to be finishing up. We ended up seeing two people leave at the bar by the window and sat there. The prices were a bit high for the quality of food. I had a Caprese salad to start which was way over dressed. The pasta and complimentary bread were both good, but pretty average in my opinion. The portions were quite big, but I prefer quality over quantity at that price. They had desserts and home-made pastas to take home and cook yourself which is always a treat. Again, a bit pricey though.

Yelp
We were at Hunstville for the day and wanted to have lunch somewhere before heading back. Saw on Yelp about this place and saw great reviews! Initially when we stepped in, it was around 2pm, we were the only customers there to sit down and eat. Staff was good and attentive enough. We ordered the Lasagna and Gnocchi with Meat sauce. First bites were okay, my Girlfriend commented that they might have microwaved the dishes, they were really hot inside but the outside of the food was warm. Lasagna was average for my tastes, the bolognese sauce was also average, it did taste like it was home made which was a plus. The Gnocchi was the same, since we ordered the same meat sauce, the only difference was the pasta that they used, Gnocchi did taste to be home made but like the sauce, it was average. Here's a plus though, it came with bread for the pasta and that was great! We saw a lot of reviews about the bread that they give for free but we didn't get any, aside from the bread that came with out pasta. Over-all, it was an average Italian restaurant for us, we do like exploring food and trying what Yelp says about local cuisine, but this one was okay for us. Nothing special, home made but didn't leave a lasting impression on us.

Yelp
Great freshly prepared Italian food, the perfect way to end a day in or near Huntsville. We particularly enjoyed the lasagne and ravioli. It did close at 8:30 the night we we're there, which is good for families but may be a little early for adults.

Yelp
Wow. If you're looking for a place to eat while in Huntsville, let me start off by saying... YOU GOTTA EAT HERE! We were passing by Huntsville and looking for a bite to eat on our way back home from up north. The restaurant doesn't look fancy and it is quite small, but the food was amazing. I had a mushroom ravioli with pancetta, sweet Peruvian peppers in a cream sauce, which was advised by our server. It was the creamiest, most delicious, ravioli that I've ever tasted. Slightly bit salty, but Loveeed the sauce full of explosive flavor. Good portion of ravioli and sauce. My partner had Anne's famous lasagna with bechamel and Bolognase sauce which was also a winner. We also shared a side of meatballs which was nice and soft, flavorful and good addition if you like more meat with your meals. Service was great. The servers were attentive and patiently explained the dishes. Dishes came out quickly so we were in and out within an hour. Downside was that I noticed they would seat 2 people at a four person table. Wait times could definitely be reduced if they seated more people at a time! Tips: Depending on your luck, you may have to wait about 20-45 mins for a table. We took this time to walk along the docks and along the main strip. Order their meatballs if you're not getting the getti and meatballs.

Gordon B.

Yelp
We ordered take out, spaghetti and meatballs and ravioli with mushroom. Generous portions and excellent tasting food. Touch on the pricey side but good value overall.

Yelp
Fantastic pizza! Fresh ingredients! Not too hard on the wallet either! Lol. A small, casual Italian restaurant in the heart of Huntsville. The staff are friendly and caring and the portions are great. I had my tastiest pizza to date thanks to this place ! I would come back!

Yelp
This is a great little place. Me and my fiancé came here for Valentine's Day and it was a lovely treat after an evening of skating at Arrowhead Provincial Park. The restaurant is small, and not normally open on Sunday's, but due to the occasion they were. We stopped in at 7pm, and there was a line of about 4 tables ahead of us, we got seated close to 7:30, and were eating by 8. This was on You Gotta Eat Here, so naturally being in town, I insisted on going. Boy was I glad. The portions are delicious and plentiful. It reminds me of a small mom and pop shop. I got the spaghetti friulana (spaghetti, pancetta, kale and onions) and my fiancé got the linguine Alfredo with mushrooms. Plates came out hot, food came out good. The only reason this restaurant lost a star was because of the seating situation. When we first arrived, we had no idea how many tables were waiting ahead of us, how long the wait would be, and no number or names were written down. One table in front of us walked out because they kept asking the gentleman how long it would be and he would not answer. I found that kind of odd, and had there been more tables waiting, would have been frustrating keeping track who was next. Overall, great experience - they can easily accommodate a family of 4, anything greater, you're in for a short wait.

Yelp
Cozy, delicious and affordable. One of the best ristorante I have been, authentic Italian flavour in the heart of Muskoka. Definitely coming back any time I am in the area, and if you are around Hunstville, drop by

Yelp
We went there on a Friday night, it was busy, and their style seems like to be ignoring customers or maybe just racist, the host's hospitality is only for white people, we were standing there waited for 10 minuets and no one talked to us, and we saw the host was talking around with white people even some customers came in later than us, even when we got our seat, he was just standing near the table which was kinda far away from us and said "here" or something like that. I do hate to put such a big word on him but this is what I felt, but the other servers and food were okay tho.

Yelp
I went for icecream and there was a bald guy who looked annoyed for no reason. It was like don't ask me questions. Lol Icecream was amazing and tasted really good.

Yelp
This is one our favourite restaurant in Huntsville. A little Italian-style bistro, very casual with good food. Lasagna is very good. Pizzas are good. Specials are usually very good. And dessert of course. They have a little Cafe off the back down by the water as well. Tonight we had the mushroom ravioli and wild boar ragout with pasta. The ravioli is very rich and tasty. Recommended dish. The boar was tasty and satisfying, but not quite as good as the last time I had it ( but still very much enjoyed it... call it 4 instead of 5 out of five this time). My only complaint if you can call it one is that the wine selection is only average. Good enough, but not great. Coffee is good. Desserts too. Still, it's all about the lasagna and pizza, and specials. :) If you're in Huntsville, stop in!

Yelp
I would like to thank the wonderful owners of That Little Place by the Lights. My wife and I have been going to this wonderful and welcoming establishment for 7 years now. The food quality and quantity blows me away every time. I have tried multiple choices from the menu and everyone makes you feel like you've made the right choice. A wonderful stop when passing through or stopping for an afternoon in the Town of Huntsville. Thanks again to wonderful owners who take pride in their craft. Until I see them again!...which will be soon

Yelp
Amazing amazing! My partner and I have been here 3 nights waiting for them to re-open after Christmas to try their Italian food. Finally, on our third night, we got to try. How delicious! Our two previous nights dinners were $130, this was the best dinner by far and was half the price! Owner is very nice and humble, beautiful display of specialty items that we bought as souvenirs to take back to Toronto. Nothing but good words to say. Kudos to the owner.

Yelp
The place is as cute as the name! We were staying over at huntsville and had a date night here. The ambiance is pretty good and the service was very prompt, our server checked on us very frequently, refilled our water and everything that is expected of a good restaurant. We ordered Linguine and Fruttie de mare, both of which were really good, I also ordered a soup which was good as well. They don't have a dessert menu on the website, but they do carry a few things. We ordered and a dolce cheesecake and creme brule, the dolce cheese cake was AMAZING, was definitely not expecting that a cheese cake from a restaurant could be this amazing.

Yelp
We arrived around 7pm on Saturday night and they were pretty busy. It seems that it's the place to be on a Saturday night -- not much else seems to be open. The restaurant has a pretty cozy feel and lots of nice art around. Their menu appear very authentically italian. We ordered the special of the night: wild boar ragu with extra wide egg noodles, and also the linguini puttanesca. I liked the extra wide noodles, but the overall flavour of the dish was a bit bland. There wasn't much flavour in the ragu and it was a bit oily. The linguini puttanesca was better and more flavourful. We had thought that it would be too strong with olives and anchovies, but the flavours were nicely balanced. We had the homemade tiramisu for dessert -- it was pretty good! It didn't have the usual layers and the topping was very rich and creamy. Their dolce de leche cheesecake look soo good but we couldn't eat anymore. The portion sizes are very big and the price very reasonable. The service was a bit lacking though. They were efficient, but not particularly friendly. Overall, it was okay -- there aren't many other places to go, and the food is pretty decent, so if you're visiting, give them a try! Oh, and order the Muskoka cream ale.. that was delicious.

Yelp
This place is a solid 4 star. I would love to give it that last star, but the service still has room for improvements. I came on a Thursday night at around 7pm and there was plenty of seats. The waitress had a serious case of RBF and was a little impatient. She also had a pushy attitude for upsells but was generally helpful in terms of recommendations. She wasn't horrible, but just gave you a sense that she didn't really care about you. Mediocre service aside, the food is BOMB. The free bread we got was hot and soft. The fluffy texture is perfect and I would have happily paid for given the great quality. We ordered the Oven Roasted Speck ($9.25) which was bocconcini stuffed inside Italian cured ham served with marinara sauce and balsamic vinegar. It was delish! If you ate the speck rolls by itself it was a bit dry, but once you go back in for the sauce, it was great. For mains, we got Gnocchi with Rose ($13.95) and the Linguine Alfredo with Mushrooms ($13.25), and a side of meatballs($4.5). The gnocchi was one of the best I've ever had, they were light and fluffy, goes beautifully with the creamy Rose. The linguine was also really really good. The flavour of the sauce was very rich. I would have preferred the sauce slightly more liquid so it would coat the pasta better and you can get every last drop. The meatballs were meh, a little dense for my taste so definitely could have lived without them. I should also note that their portions were seemingly average but boy were they filling! This would be one of the reasons (along with local business like the Echo Woods B&B and Spencer's Tall Trees) I would come back to Huntsville again and again for my getaways.

Yelp
We're from Niagara Falls and aren't familiar with the area and weren't sure where to go. We walked downtown on the strip and came across this cute little place. We ordered the antipasto plate for 2- it was beautiful! Came with lots of prosciutto, salami, some olives, and a soft bocconcini cheese with balsamic on it and a basket of warm focaccia bread. On the tables there is a bottle of olive oil and balsamic for you to use for dipping or add to pasta- nice touch! I order the gnocchi in rose and my husband ordered their special which was the tortellini in sage butter sauce. Both were very delicious! The gnocchi is handmade, it's so soft it melts in your mouth. We ordered tiramisu for dessert- I've never cared for tiramisu... but this one was fantastic! When we got our bill and we were shocked at the amount! The lunch we had previously that day at a mediocre burger place was double the amount! We wish we lived closer, we'd come back again and again! Wonderful service also!

Yelp
Me and my family LOVED LOVED all the pastas and pizzas we had here. I'm pretty sure it's safe to say, everything here is delicious. Did I mention they have amazing spaghetti and meatballs? Yup gotta visit this restaurant if you're in Huntsville and love Italian food. You won't be disappointed.

JENNIFER S.

Yelp
Their pizza is incredible. Perfect crust and nice sauce. Trying the penne arrabiatta tonight
google avatar

Eyi M.

Yelp
Not a fan overall.. pasta is really overrated if going in with the expectation of something completely blow you away.. found my linguine slightly dry.. Compared to the food, the service without exaggeration was horrendous.. One server was quite inpatient with me when asking her about any recommendations.. to top it off.. another server took our plate away before we all finished.. Clearly, our encounter may not be generalized to everyone's; but just as clearly, we were not welcomed over there. Message received.. wont be going back.. The service really did not deserve any tip, nor did it deserve the one star I gave on this review.

Yelp
It's our first time in Huntsville to celebrate Eid, the kids were so hungry after their swim in the lake, so we came here after serve ain't for restaurant on Yelp . I am telling you the food is unbelievable, so yummy. I am a big eater and I mean it A BIG EATER, the portions are huge and delicious, my eldest daughter literarily lived on pasta all her life (she is 10), she said that this is the best ever pasta she has tried in her life. Guys YOU HAVE TO EAT HERE.

Tim C.

Yelp
Food here has always been excellent. Service was great too. If you're looking for good Italian food, you can't go wrong here. We'll be back again and again.

Yelp
Delicious gluten-free pasta (Linguini Alfredo with Mushrooms, see photo), probably one of the best I've tasted! Great people, and an Italian mama cooking up a storm in the kitchen. They also had some great drinks, including the gluten-free cider Angry Orchards. The meal was too satisfying to even consider or look at desserts. Would absolutely recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Everything is great at TLPBTL! Work just a few stores down from this great little Italian restaurant. If you haven't discovered their market place around back, you have to check it out, open early for great coffee and treats. Annie's Lasagna is to die for! ...and for desert I cant' help but go for the carrot cake, you have to give it a try!

Paul D.

Yelp
The food is good. Sadly because they do not take reservations we have tried three times and showed up not able to get in. very frustrating....

Yelp
Love how customizable and accommodating this place is. I had the primavera pizza and added pepperoni, absolutely delicious. Also loved the lunch sized portion, just enough to get through to dinner.
