Thatch Caye Resort (Coco Plum Range, Dangriga) 1 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The idea of an eco-resort in Belize is not an unfamiliar one, and it’s appealing enough as it is. Thatch Caye, however, distinguishes itself with a private-island location, and a positively idyllic one at that — all the photos you see in the slideshow above were taken within a 25-minute boat ride from the property, and in this part of the world a 25-minute boat ride is roughly equivalent to a brisk stroll down to the corner." - Tablet Hotels

The whole island experience was five star. The bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on. Every single staff member we encountered was amazing. The food was excellent. The fish we caught was cooked for the group and was excellent. Booking excursions was easy. Truly an amazing experience!

My wife and I spent 8 days in paradise celebrating our 10 year anniversary and it was wonderful. The staff was always thoughtful and went above and beyond. It is different from all other Caribbean experiences and was more intimate due to the limited number of rooms. The resort is very private and quiet.||The staff was awesome! Daniel became our beach friend making us drinks and even went sailing with us one day. Jackson always had a smile on his face and brightened everyones mood while serving us food. Aniver made fun cocktails and took great care of us. Richie D is a true B.I.B and was our boat captain for multiple trips. Darvin was a knowledgable snorkeling guide and even taught us about some constellations during our stargazing cruise. From top to bottom the whole team were superstars!||The beach was relaxing and peaceful. We kayaked and paddle boarded from the beach and saw at least 20 starfish among other marine life. There was a yoga retreat happening during our stay, so we ended up having a private beach during their sessions and it took relaxation to a new level.||We went reef fishing one morning and caught more fish than any of my previous salt water fishing trips combined. We caught lots of Jacks and Bonitas and even caught a Permit. One of the best parts is that the chef prepared the fish for dinner that night and we got to share our catch with the rest of the resort and staff.||The food was good, but due to being an island with a limited number of rooms you always eat off of a set menu for lunch and dinner. There is always a place to grab a drink, but not much in the way of whiskey or tequila for spirits. The rum that is made at their sister resort Copal is delicious and their cocoa rum is a perfect after dinner drink.||Overall we had a fantastic stay and loved it. We would go back for the incredible setting and friendly staff and couldn't recommend this place enough if you are looking for a place to unplug and relax.

Thatch Caye is beyond a magical place, it has everything you need to unplug from the hustle of the every day. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is the best experience and that every need is met with a smiling face. By the end of the 2nd day they will know your name, and you theirs, as they already feel like family. The food is healthy, fresh, and never requires seasoning. I went on a yoga retreat, but would happily go back with friends and family as well. We stayed in a bungalow one the water and it was the lovelies walk up and down every day. Beds - surprisingly wonderful, shower - also surprisingly great pressure. Thatch Cay can not be mentioned with out the mention of Marley and Pico (the onsite dogs). They are the kindest, sweetest pups that would sleep under our bed on a few occasions (I'm sure on an invite only basis.. =))

Our stay at Thatch Caye Resort was truly unforgettable, thanks to the incredible hospitality and heart of the entire team. This place is paradise on its own, but it’s the people who make it feel like home.||Daniel and Junior are phenomenal bartenders. Not only did they craft delicious drinks, but they also brought so much warmth, laughter, and genuine connection to every interaction. We left the island feeling like we were leaving close friends. Also a shout out to Anivar, he was incredible as well! We just didn’t get to spend as much time with him because his shift on the island ended early in our stay, ||Brian, our driver, was fantastic—punctual, professional, and full of great local insight. He made our transfers smooth and stress-free. ||Jackson turned karaoke night into a highlight of the trip with his infectious energy. The hospitality he provided was top notch, even if he is really bad at arm wrestling. ||And Richie D - a good man is hard to find! He’s an incredible boat captain and a talented musician whose songs are still stuck in my head. ||I highly recommend the booze cruise (proceed with caution) and the snorkeling adventures! Both were so much fun - the snorkeling guide was so knowledgeable and made us feel so so safe. ||Breakfasts always had some agua fresca, fresh fruit, fresh baked goodies, veggies and an omelette station where the chef will make your eggs however you like them.||Lunch was varied but always delicious. We had authentic stewed chicken and red beans and rice, shrimp tacos, crispy chicken sandwich, and they were doing chicken fajitas the day we left.||Dinner was incredible each night with incredible soups, fresh salads with an incredible honey mustard balsamic dressing, and different incredibly cooked rotating proteins each night from the catch of the day, steak, chicken, ribs and meatballs. The last couple of days there were some vegetarians that joined the island and the chef was incredibly accommodating and added several vegetarian items to the menus. The food was fresh and healthy and absolutely excellent. ||The room was so comfortable and quiet and cool. We stayed in a premier oceanfront cabana and it was perfect for us. The island puppies Marley and Pico are so sweet and will follow you home at night to sleep. ||Every detail at Thatch Caye felt personal, thoughtful, and effortless. The setting is stunning, but it’s the staff who made this trip one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. We already can’t wait to come back!

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! We spent our honeymoon at Thatch Caye, and it was by far the best place we have ever been. Will was so helpful! The entire staff is just amazing. They knee us by name and made the experience so special. HIGHLY recommend adding the honeymoon package! You won't regret it. The Maya airlines made the second flight a breeze, and they also make it easy and fun to be picked up on the boat. All of the excursions are great. I wish I remembered every staff members name to give them all a shout out. This island is small and quiet for the most part. It's just perfect. They don't over-crowd the place with guests so they can take extra good care of you.

We loved Thatch Caye!! The staff are so accommodating and fun to talk to. The air conditioning could probably be a little better in the rooms, but I’m sure we are spoiled coming from the US. We had so much fun on the excursions fishing, lobster hunting, island hopping, etc. Food is great, you definitely won’t go hungry!

This was a wonderful place. The weather didn't cooperate for some of the excursions but we had a wonderful time. The staff is amazing, helpful and committed to bringing the best experience for you at this resort. The beach is excellent. Because it is a small island with only the resort on it, you get to know all of the other guests. The bungalows are great. Can't say enough good things about this place.

Amazing trip! I will start with the staff. I truly believe the quality of service and the personalities of the staff was the number one factor in our enjoyment. Luis was so accommodating and friendly. Keep an eye out for his sarcasm and wit. Jackson seems like he does not sleep. The guy is on and works tirelessly… always with a smile and a kind word. If you enjoy a drink or three- Junior is your guy. Always offering to make sure you have a good time and enjoy your stay. Daniel was aware of our needs before we were. He was timely and so kind. I felt like family and not a guest. Raffy handled the boating and snorkeling. My wife feels it the best snorkel trip she has experienced. Raffy was safe and clear with instruction. He was familiar with the environment and so educational. He has many stories to share. There are some other staff that I didn’t mention that were just as warm and inviting. They are who makes this private escape special.|The rooms are small but nice. Our room was clean, the water was warm, and the view was unreal. Rainy season creates a wind and water that you can hear all night. |Excursions?!? ATM is pricey and a full day but was so worth it. It is physical. Lots of walking and climbing. Be prepared!|I fly fished with Blue Horizons and Kevin Cabral! I got on the bones and missed the tarpon. He was so amazing and a novice would do well with him.|Food- was really good. Some great but I enjoyed most of everything and felt that the cooks really delivered… especially dessert!!|Go here… five days is great!!! More is fine!! Don’t stay less!!
