Thatch Caye, a Muy’Ono Resort (Coco Plum Range, Dangriga) 1 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The idea of an eco-resort in Belize is not an unfamiliar one, and it’s appealing enough as it is. Thatch Caye, however, distinguishes itself with a private-island location, and a positively idyllic one at that — all the photos you see in the slideshow above were taken within a 25-minute boat ride from the property, and in this part of the world a 25-minute boat ride is roughly equivalent to a brisk stroll down to the corner." - Tablet Hotels

Thatch Caye Resort a Muy'Ono Resort, a Design Boutique Hotel Hopkins, Belize

"With a restaurant and a pristine beach area, Thatch Caye Resort is located on a private island in Dangriga. This incredible resort offers guests on-site dive facilities and kayaks to explore the area. The bungalows at the property boast excellent 180-degree sea views from their private overhang patios. They include ceiling fans, tiled floors and a private bathroom with hot water. The cottages feature a roof-top deck. A wide range of Belizean and International dishes are served at the property’s restaurant, and guests can also enjoy drinks at the Starfish Bar. Activities like fly fishing and tours to mainland destinations can be arranged by the resort." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

I had a two night stay at the island with my mom and we had a wonderful time. The staff were welcoming and helpful with letting us know our tour options. I ended up doing the night snorkeling. They found someone to go with me (another guest) and our guide was very informative about what we were about to experience and knowledgeable about all the sea creatures we saw. At the ending of the tour we saw baby sea turtles. It was definitely the highlight of the entire trip. The food was fantastic, having all the guest sit together for meals was a nice way to keep us engaged with each other. Paddle boards, kayaks and even bikes were available for us who wanted to be a bit more active . And if you just wanted to relax the hammocks were perfectly located and the bar was never too far away for refreshing drinks. We really enjoyed our stay and the company of all the other guests on the island. A truly remarkable experience.

We spent our honeymoon at Thatch Caye and loved every single moment. From the second we arrived, the staff made us feel like family. Everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed to love what they do. Luis leads an incredible team. I have to mention Junior too, he went out of his way to make sure everyone was having a great time. But every staff member made our stay one we'll never forget. ||The island itself is stunning, a little slice of paradise surrounded by crystal-clear water and vibrant marine life. We loved that Thatch Caye isn’t a massive resort, it felt intimate while still offering everything you could want. We got to know every guest during our stay. Sharing meals in a family-style setting and going on excursions together created such a fun, connected atmosphere. We had plenty of time to ourselves too. ||Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. From breakfast to dinner, the chefs and servers went out of their way to make everything perfect.||And we can’t forget about the dogs, they might have been our favorite part! Marley especially stole our hearts and ended up sleeping in our bungalow every night, joining us for a few afternoon naps too.||Everything about Thatch Caye was perfect. The setting, people, adventures, and the sense of community. We left feeling relaxed, grateful, and already planning our return. This place is truly special.

Absolutely incredible. We barely wanted to leave the island. The staff were amazing. Jackson, Luis, Anivar, Darvin, Hydo, and Shakira were just untouchable in service. The food was excellent too! We loved the conch and lobster hunt and ate like kings that night. Apparently we LOVE hogfish now as well! We will be back. 10/10 recommend.

My dad and I had a great time on the island. The staff made our trip very enjoyable. The room was great. The house keepers kept the room spotless. The cook staff prepared excellent food every day. (see photo of menu below) The weather was perfect during the day, but it rained hard at night. The grounds crew keep the resort immaculate. The dogs Pico (brown)and Marley (white) are the islands greeters, and are extremely friendly.

Luis and his staff make you feel welcome and take care of everything. This resort is different from most I have been to. Guests eat meals together and we met some amazong people from all over. ||Some honorable mentions who made our stay special:|Shakira served almost all of our meals. She is caring and offered to wrap a meal for my wife who was ill one night and could not attend dinner. She is the kindest soul and she loves country music, so request it for her!!|"Action" Jackson was our bartender at the beach and Happy hour. A friendly face who will make you anything you like. A master of his craft, and ask him to atm wrestle.|Arman was our bartender and sometimes server at the Coco lounge. My wife and I spent 6 nights at Thatch Caye for our 10 year anniversary. Outside of a couple days of nasty weather, I couldn't ask for more! The island itself is beautifully maintained and we were greeted by the super friendly staff and of course Marlie and Pico. The community style dining was a unique feature that I wasn't sure how we would like, but it was awesome! The food was incredible and the small number of guests made it easy to connect with the like minded travelers that find themselves in Belize. The premium overwater Bungalows are very quiet and romantic with incredible views of the Caribbean. They are a little barebones, but trust me, you won't want to spend much time in the room anyway. Outside of the stunning beauty of Belize, the service blew me away next most. Anivar, Junior, Luis and Jackson provided incredible service in a very personal way that really sets this place apart from other resorts we have stayed at. Richie D is an ace boat captain that got us safely back to the mainland during some seriously rough seas on the day we departed and serenaded us with his own songs during our Sunset cruise. My only regret is we didn't stay longer.

Our stay at Thatch Caye Resort was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with genuine warmth and hospitality — everyone went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The food was outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared each day.|The views were breathtaking, with turquoise water stretching in every direction and sunsets that looked straight out of a postcard. We loved the opportunity to island hop and explore the neighboring cayes — it was the perfect way to experience Belize’s natural beauty and local charm.|And of course, a special mention to Pico and Marley, the resort’s friendly dogs, who quickly became part of our daily routine. They were such wonderful hosts and added so much joy to the experience.|If you’re looking for a peaceful, beautiful, and welcoming island retreat, Thatch Caye Resort is pure paradise. We can’t wait to return!
