Thatch Caye Resort, a Muy'Ono Resort

My stay at Thatch Caye was everything I expected and so much more. The island has an intimate, exclusive feel—with only about 16 rooms and roughly 30 guests at a time—which made the experience incredibly peaceful and personal. During my visit, there were many couples and a few singles, creating a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Although the resort is kid-friendly, I personally wouldn’t recommend it for children, as the vibe is perfect for adults looking to unwind and disconnect. The staff truly made the trip unforgettable. The manager, Luis, is absolutely amazing—warm, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to making each guest feel special. Danny, Charlie, Junior, and Jessica were also exceptional. Their consistency and hospitality throughout my entire stay added to the personalized, at-home feeling of the island. If you’re looking for a beautiful, intimate getaway with top-tier service and a one-of-a-kind island experience, Thatch Caye is the place. I can’t wait to go back.

Thatch Caye is a serene, peaceful paradise that truly feels like home—even though you’re far away. From the moment we arrived, the staff treated us like family, and that feeling never faded. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere relaxing, and the excursions were unforgettable. From sunrise breakfasts with amazing Belizean fry jacks to night snorkeling with Darvin, island hopping with Darvin and Richie, and incredible sea-to-table meals, every detail was exceptional. Shakira went above and beyond at every meal, Charles impressed us with freshly squeezed, pulp-free orange juice, Junior kept things fun at the bar, and “Action Jackson” made sure everything ran seamlessly with excursions, entertainment, and pure positive energy. Richie and Darvin were first class tour guides! Even the island dogs, Pico and Marley, added charm and laughter to our stay. The island itself is stunning, the accommodations are perfectly “island chic,” and the sense of community—shared dinners, real conversations, no phones—made the experience truly special. We can’t say enough about Thatch Caye. First-class in every way, and we’re already planning our return. Thank you to the entire team for an unforgettable stay!

Paradise exemplified. This tiny island taps out on capacity around 30 people. But the adventures are endless. Paddle-boards, kayaks, and snorkel gear allow endless exploration of the surrounding fish filled waters. Catch some seafood and the excellent chefs will prepare it that night. Or, lounge on the beach and drink from the cooler of ice cold beers. Better yet get a fantastic tropical cocktail from JR and Anivar, great bartenders! Luis and Jackson go above and beyond with their exceptional service too. Every adventure guide was fun, knowledgeable, and professional too. Thinking about a trip to Belize, don’t skip this magical island.

The service of this resort was TOP NOTCH! We can’t speak more highly of every person we encountered—from the tour guide (GO Melvin!) to the front desk staff, the boat captains, the waitresses and bartenders! Everything was perfect. Even the resort dogs. Daily happy hours and family style meals made it even more special. Highly recommend!

Wow! What a fantastic week! Thatch Caye is is THE place to go if you want to combine romance, relaxation, and adventure. My husband and I came for our honeymoon and we aren’t great at sitting still. We were never bored. ||The staff and the experiences are amazing. And don’t even get me started on the food. Wow!! ||Shakira, Junior, Darvin, Dan, Charles and Richie D made our trip!!!

Absolutely incredible. We barely wanted to leave the island. The staff were amazing. Jackson, Luis, Anivar, Darvin, Hydo, and Shakira were just untouchable in service. The food was excellent too! We loved the conch and lobster hunt and ate like kings that night. Apparently we LOVE hogfish now as well! We will be back. 10/10 recommend.

My dad and I had a great time on the island. The staff made our trip very enjoyable. The room was great. The house keepers kept the room spotless. The cook staff prepared excellent food every day. (see photo of menu below) The weather was perfect during the day, but it rained hard at night. The grounds crew keep the resort immaculate. The dogs Pico (brown)and Marley (white) are the islands greeters, and are extremely friendly.

The island was amazing. Some of the best snorkeling in the world. Staff is excellent and the room was perfect. Some of the best sunrise and sunsets I’ve ever seen. Shout out to Junior for taking care of us! Will definitely be back.
