Eco Dome Experience (Teguise, Canary Islands) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Lanzarote, in the Canary Islands, is the setting for the Eco Dome Experience, a unique lodging whose geodesic-dome structure doesn’t seal in a self-contained environment, but rather allows guests the maximum possible immersion in the island’s climate and ecosystem. Air conditioning is available when you need it, but the whole place is solar-powered, and in the evenings the open-air terrace is the place to share a meal prepared in the dome’s kitchen or on the outdoor barbecue. As remote as it may feel, the village of Teguise is just over a mile away." - Tablet Hotels

We arrived before the rooms were ready and were immediately given our bracelets so we could eat and drink at the hotel. |We walked around and although I had asked about upgrading our room, I didnt confirm it before we arrived. We went to the reception and asked if it was possible to upgrade as the sea view rooms are the most recent to be refurbished. We asked for 2 two close but not necessarily next to each other and they upgraded us no problem for a small fee. |We had a nice sized room with kettle and kitchen area. I always take tea and coffee with me so we could use the appliances but there was no tea or coffee sachets left in the room. This would have been a nice touch in the premium room.|The air con was not set for cold regardless of the lowest setting but we slept with the patio doors open and the breeze was great for sleeping.|Coming from Spain we welcomed the lack of heat and humidity and liked the colder air.|The staff were are really nice and helpful, especially when we spoke in Spanish as well as English. They appreciated the effort we made.|The rooms were cleaned daily and only when the towels were left on the floor did they change them.|The breakfasts were definitely the best part of the day, where there was an abundance of choices, catering for all nationalities. Coming from Catalonia I know how hard it can be to please all tastes.|I would say that as being lactose intolerant, I would have liked to see a lactose free choice of yogurt or cheeses. There was almond and oat milk available though.|The lunch was basic but we totally expected this. My daughter told me it was the best meat lasagne she has eaten which is a huge compliment considering how particular she can be.|They loved the fact that a smaller choice of breakfast was available right up until lunch. For me, that meant not having to wake up the teenagers early knowing that they could eat when they liked.|The evening buffet was ok but not outstanding. I like when they show case a few dishes which are pretty much made to order. This felt lacking but I'm sure this will be improved on.|The entertainment in the evening was ok but again the layout in the bar for the shows was strange. There was an outdoor area which would definitely have made a difference. I like being able to sit outside and chat while seeing the act.|Overall, the hotel was worth the money and upgrading the room was a good choice.

This is our 3rd stay at this hotel one of our favourites hence why we keep coming back. Staff are great especially entertainment team. Food is amazing you have to option to go to pool bar and restaurant..there is also another restaurant on site that you can book. Rooms are tidy and clean.. standard rooms are quite small which is not a problem but you can upgrade to family room which is alot bigger and those rooms are amazing. The entertainment in the main bar in the evenings is just brilliant. I've never had so much fun. It never ooverly busy also x the location of this hotel has to be the best in Costa deguise..you walk out the front and you are by the main strip.. and there is also a back entrance which goes straight onto to the beach front with bars and restaurants within 2 mins. all and all 10/10 ... I just can't find any fault with this hotel and I am shocked there is negative reviews...

The best thing about this Hotel are the staff who were super friendly, and made you feel like family . Some of the people we came with have been here numerous times before and knew all the staff so well. Hotel and rooms very clean. Food good. WiFi great around entire hotel. Hotel has good location to walk to beach and bars. We enjoyed the pub that's at the hotel, with live singers every night. Daytime entertainment is good but nothing at weekends.|There is currently some refurbishment going on at the hotel but we were warned about this, and given the option to swap hotels before we got here but were happy to continue and the noise was ok.

Just got back from THB. It’s a bit of a mix really. Reception staff so helpful, welcoming and lovely. Pool bar staff and chefs are all so pleasant and could not do enough. Breakfast and evening meal plentiful no issues at all. A nice little touch is the table service.|Evening entertainment, honestly fantastic acts and the staff are absolutely wonderful, all of them. People have described the Brandy well as a dingy pub but I thought it was great.|Nice big room although the fridge is barely cool. Perfect location. |Now the negatives:|Cleaning of our room was hit and miss. Some days we are missed and I had to flag down staff to get toilet roll towels etc. did not refill the shower gel. |The biggest issue for us was the construction. We were not informed of this when booking and would not have come if we had known. Very loud and intrusive construction right next to the pool. Thought we could get a break from the noise in our room, no. We were placed right above the entertainment pub (room 6204) so the music went until 12.30am then we had workers as early as 6.55am reconstructing the room next to ours. The noise was ridiculous. Banging, drilling all day one day until 19.00pm. They were cutting tiles on the balcony with no dust suppression so our balcony was constantly covered in dust, couldn’t even sit out there. Honestly if it wasn’t for the construction at the pool and next to our room we would have had a lovely stay. Completely ruined our get away. My partner works on building sites and felt like he had spent a lot of money going for a week at work. Absolutely no regard for the safety of guests. Why would you put paying guests next to rooms being completely refurbed. Spoke with reception twice and they stated that this was managements decision and has been going on since March. You do not pay to put up with that disruption. Greedy greedy decision.

We had such a wonderful time here! Staff were all so lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. The hotel and the room were really nice, exactly how it looks in the pictures. The food was amazing. The location was perfect just metres from the centre of it all but we still never heard a peep at night. Great experience from start to finish can’t fault the place!

Sorry, but just read a few opening reviews with someone inferring the bad reviews must be for another hotel - I kid you not they do have correct hotel.||We arrived last Thursday, early evening. Checked out 10.00 a.m Friday!! The pictures of the pool area on website do not reflect reality. Sunbeds were dirty, grubby, everywhere could do with a lick of paint. There were building/renovation work going on around pool area which started on the Friday morning.||Restaurant is downstairs in the basement. It's very humid and not cool. Salad dishes had literally curled up and died due to warmth. We just didn't want to eat there.||In fairness, the hotel did return the 100 euros each which we had paid upon arrival to upgrade to AI and booking.com are refunding monies paid after confirming with hotel that building works were being carried out. Obviously we were not advised of that before arrival.||Sadly we were never asked by staff or the manager why we were leaving.||I had read reviews prior to booking but the bad were mixed with great feedback. Great location for beach but didn't want to spend 5 days here.||Horses for courses as they say and you do get what you pay for. If you can increase your budget.

We stayed at this hotel for a week, self catering. The room was clean and was refreshed everyday with fresh towels. There wasn’t a kitchenette, only a small fridge which was cold enough to put drinks in, however we ate out and about everyday so this wasn’t a problem. Air con wasn’t great but it’s not a problem as the wind is so strong it can be a bit chilly at night ||We had a pool view room which unfortunately was right across from construction work which was being carried out for majority of our stay. It was very loud and went on for the majority of each day (except Sunday.) To be fair, we didn’t ask to change rooms, but it would have been good to know how long the building work would be going on for before we booked this hotel. As of 8th July it looked like they were almost finishing up (I understand work is necessary) ||Apart from this, the hotel was great- the pool was good, this hotel is in perfect location with all amenities within walking distance. The beach is just out the door and there’s great wee shops just outside it too ||Late checkout is available either 3pm or 6pm I believe at extra cost (I think it was €30 for 3pm)

A last minute change of location, left us searching for a fussy group of 6 people in 4 rooms.. having generally low expectations for the place, we were all extremely pleasantly surprised with the location quality of the rooms and incredible friendly staff… without exception. The hotel is undergoing some updates, this does create only the minimum amount of interruption but does also mean that the homely is at a lower capacity giving more space to relax around the pool and other areas. Would definitely recommend and would also return when looking for a budget friendly 4 star hotel
