Our stay at the Campbell Cottage (a 1661 Resort property) was simply fantastic! The newly renovated and spacious two bedroom Cottage is perfectly located: with a view of the ocean, adjacent to the 1661 garden, animal farm and yoga studio, across the street from the 1661 Inn, and a short walk to town. This is the third 1661 Resort property we have stayed in and we continue be impressed by the warm, friendly staff as well as the condition of the properties. Don’t miss the delicious breakfast (available at the Inn), which features fresh vegetables straight from the inn's own expansive garden. The owner, Rita Draper, is a truly wonderful hostess, and it was clear how much she and her staff care about making every guest's experience special.|With cozy rooms, incredible food, and unparalleled hospitality, the 1661 Inn exceeded all our expectations. We can't wait to return!

The 1661 Inn is one of the nicest bed and breakfasts on Block Island. You are made to feel welcome the moment you step into the lobby. We have been staying there for quite a few years and are never disappointed. The breakfast is outstanding with a great variety of food, from the made to order omelette to the French toast and pancakes. Unlimited mimosas are an extra treat. The rooms are well appointed, many with beautiful views of the water. Wine and nibbles in the afternoon are another plus. All in all a great experience.

We loved 1661 Inn. Our entire trip was magical!! The staff was lovely, went above and beyond. LOVED the breakfast and the farm to table omelet - some of the best food on the island - and the complimentary wine & cheese nibbles everyday was the cherry on top. Excellent location and accommodation - would recommend to anyone and will definitely be back!

After 35 years of visiting Block Island, the newly renovated Eureka Hotel at The 1661 Resort is hands-down my new favorite! The views are stunning as they overlook the animal farm, Old Harbor, and the Atlantic Ocean. The rooms are spotless, stylish, and so comfortable with great beds, fluffy towels, dreamy pillows, mini-fridges, and keypad entry. I loved the terrace for morning coffee, the 24/7 coffee/tea/water station, and the little luxury touches like aromatherapy toiletries, full length mirrors, excellent room & reading lighting, and efficient air conditioning & heating. Breakfast at the nearby 1661 Resort is a treat with a huge buffet and made-to-order eggs. After breakfast I took a top notch yoga session each day at the Elevation Studio also located at the 1661.Resort. The 1661’s Oar Restaurant is perfect for sushi, lobster rolls, oysters, mudslides (not to be missed!) and now steamed lobsters, mussels and clams. After decades of stays, I’ve finally found “the one” and Eureka is it!

Easily one of the most breathtaking ocean views on the entire island. From the moment we arrived, everything felt peaceful and serene. The setting is absolutely perfect for anyone looking to relax, recharge, and enjoy the beauty of the coast. The property itself is beautifully maintained, with thoughtful touches throughout that really enhance the experience. One of the biggest highlights is how close it is to town — just a short walk or drive away, which makes dining, shopping, and exploring incredibly convenient without sacrificing the quiet, secluded feel of the hotel. Between the stunning views, relaxing atmosphere, and unbeatable location, this place truly offers the best of both worlds. We loved our stay and would absolutely come back again.

Stayed at the Eureka building of the 1661 hotel. This is the newest building and the pictures looked very nice. However, the building was very cheaply and poorly put together. The floors were extremely loud, there were holes in the walls of our room and bathroom, the bathroom door didn’t lock, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, and several fixtures were coming off the wall. For the price of this place, it’s unacceptable. The Eureka building is in a good location. Only a 5-10 minute walk from where the ferry drops you off. One of the service members was rude to us, while the other two were pleasant. Finally, they do provide showers for guests to use after the beach and before they return home, which are well-kept.

The 1661 properties are must stay when visiting Block Island! From the moment you arrive, you are greeted with warm friendly smiles from all staff members and owner. All properties are clean and well appointed with many amenities. The view from the 1661 is gorgeous and allows you to soak up the ocean air and relax. The breakfast buffet is delicious with a selection of fresh vegetables from their gardens and a beautiful way to start the day while enjoying the ocean’s views. ||As a special treat for the young and old is an exotic animal farm, take a stroll through the grounds and visit the animals and gardens.||They recently opened their new property Eureka with beautifully decorated rooms with expansive views, some with magnificent decks! You won’t want to leave the property!||This is a family owned business, you can see and feel the pride from the family in every turn. ||Once you visit, you will be hooked!||Sent from the all new AOL app for iOS

1661 has become the end of summer vacation spot for a group of my good friends. ||The warm and gracious hospitality of the owners and staff define the Inn’s atmosphere. Rita (owner) and her family are mainstays of BI and a great resource re: hiking, beaches, yoga classes etc. Every morning before dispersing to the beaches etc., our group gathers for 1661’s breakfast buffet - A Must! Great views of the ocean and super fresh food that includes produce from 1661’s garden. ||We just got back home and plan to revisit 1661 “same time, next year”.
