Very interesting - where do I begin! We stopped in Paducah for the weekend. I initially called and spoke with a very pleasant lady at the front desk whose name I can’t remember. She was very kind, knowledgeable, friendly and willing to help. I arrived around 2 am, my room key was awaiting me at the front desk making my check in process very easy. The owner who I ran into allowed me to use his office microwave and even bantered with me about my beloved cultural dishes as we climbed the stairs. Depending on the hour of the evening/night you may meet Henry, beware, he tends to sneak upon , rumor has it he’s a friendly ghost but don’t trust him with your underwear. Overall, we had a great weekend, the rooms were nicely remodeled, and the spacious. Housekeeping came by daily and linen changes were offered. Even though the location is downtown, it didn’t affect the serenity of our stay.

Such a beautiful place to stay for the weekend❤️ our family reunion was great and it was conveniently located for all our planned activities. And early evening we were close to all the restaurants on Broadway. Then on Sunday we were pretty close to Noble Park where we spent the largest part of the day with family! The place itself was immaculate but on the cool side. Next time I’ll definitely take me an extra blanket.

This is the CUTEST place!! The location is perfect several restaurants and bars are working lwithin walking distance. Downtown paducha gives Nola and st. Charles Missouri vibes with cobblestone streets. Morgan the bar tender at the hotel was top notch. We stayed in unit 400 which was across the street and 2 restaurants are located right beside it. Was a great weekend with the girls in my family and I want to go back with my husband.

Me and my wife stayed there on 12-14-24. We absolutely loved this place. The room was amazing and super clean. The location is within walking distance of many shops, restaurants and bars. We had a wonderful time and will definitely stay again.

Google
Such a quirky little place for accommodation and cocktails. The staff were super friendly and made dinner reservations for us at The Freight House (what a great choice!) as soon as we checked in. ||Be aware there is no food service at the "hotel" but with places open for breakfast just a short walk away and good weather it was fine. We were in a Queen suite at the front of the hotel, the room was huge and spotless and beds very comfortable, the shower room was fantastic and, once we worked it out, the coffee maker very welcome (although who likes the donut coffee option?). ||There was a wedding party on the night we stayed so their bar was closed to other guests, but it was surprisingly quiet in the hotel at night and alternative bars/restaurants were very close by.||Paducah was a revelation, not what I expected at all. Will happily return.

This was a cheap motel disguised as a boutique hotel and priced like a boutique hotel. The room was disappointing and the staff was rude. When we checked in, the front desk person was more interested in selling rooms to a woman planning her honeymoon than sharing anything at all about the hotel. She actually was annoyed we wanted our room key. I gave her our name, signed the papers, and we were given the key without any introduction to the hotel. The room was spacious but had no actual windows besides a skylight. All the photos online were of one that had gorgeous windows but we were given a dark cavern right off the main stairs with no sound insulation. The room was cold and we couldn’t turn up the heat. They gave us a little space heater that did absolutely nothing so I was freezing all night. The bathroom was designed like they worship Chip and Joanna Gaines but without actual thought of how a hotel room should function. There was no exhaust system in the shower area so there was mold up on the ceiling from too much moisture. And the rainfall shower refused to fully turn off so I heard it dripping through the night. There was no place for towels besides a few towel hooks so you just plopped them on the tiny sink that had barely any counter space. And the barn door that separated the bathroom area from the rest of the room had gaps so you could see right through. No privacy at all. We chose this over the Holiday Inn and we chose wrong. It has great proximity to downtown Paducah but I wish we had stayed elsewhere.

We stayed in #600, the condo. Our space was a one bedroom, 1-1/2 bath condo located about a block away from the main hotel. There is a long flight of stairs to get to the room (25 steps to be exact), but the room itself is very clean and nice. There is a full kitchen, living area, small dining room, separate, large bedroom and back balcony. Parking is on site behind the condo. Pretty much everything in downtown Paducah is within a short walk. Our room had a king size bed and large shower. While quiet for the most part, traffic was noisy at periods during the day/night (see below). A few things kept me from giving this room five stars. Maybe I’m being nit-picky, but for $200+ a night, these issues should be addressed: The bedroom has a small window. At night, a street light shines right in and is a beacon. I stuffed a throw pillow in the window, which helped somewhat, but there should be a window covering. Both bathrooms have a light/fan that turn on when you walk in. That’s nice, but they never go off. Sometimes you can manually turn them off, but sometimes you can’t and they run and run and run all night long. We had no tissues or hand soap at two the of sinks in the living area. The half bath is a toilet closet and doesn’t have a sink, so it’s logical to wash your hands at the bar area or kitchen sink. We got tissues because we picked them up ourselves, but they never delivered hand soap, despite calling us to see if they could enter the room to deliver it. On Friday and Saturday night, the bars close and motorcycles and loud cars leave at around 1:30 a.m. They are loud and the noise lasts for 15-30 minutes. I understand that is not the hotel’s fault, but it bears mentioning.

Nice hotel. Our ground floor room had a very small window that opened to the parking lot . So it needed to be closed for privacy... The room was well appointed, but dark.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay, the location is amazing! There are shops, restaurants, and bars within walking distance. Our room was on the first floor, nice historic exposed brick wall, super comfortable and clean bed.

Yelp
Cute little hotel off the beaten path. Room was okay, we were on the street side, but it wasn't too noisy or anything. Bed was a little old and we kept ending up in a middle trough. The bathroom sink was in the room outside the bathroom, which doesn't help if one person is still sleeping and the other uses the sink. Location is good and I would stay there again if I could try a different room.

Yelp
i'm coming back. This place is the best I came for work. I enjoyed my stay. I couldn't wait to get off work just to come back and hang out. I was very comfortable, it felt very cozy. Everything about the decor, feels warm and inviting. the gentleman at the desk, when I walked in the door, he said you must be Miss... applause

Yelp
The 1857 Hotel is a first-rate boutique hotel located in a freshly refurbished warehouse block along the riverfront in Paducah, Kentucky. Rooms are clean, comfortable, quiet and spacious. Rates are extremely reasonable for the quality of the accommodations. Just up the street from the hotel are several up-scale restaurants, bars and brewpubs. Several shops - bbq supplies, antiques, gifts - are within easy walking distance. The riverfront is one block away. Just down the street are several museums and a performing arts center. In short, the 1857 Hotel is a cool place in a cool neighborhood. Lots to see and do. A GREAT PLACE TO SPEND THE NIGHT! IMPORTANT: Book reservations beforehand. Only ten rooms are available and this popular hotel fills to capacity almost every night.

Yelp
Be careful when booking. I paid a year in advance for the American Quilt show. Three days prior to the show I attempted to cancel due to an injury & surgery. They are 100 percent non refundable & would not let me move my reservation to 2025 for the show, even though they would have my full payment for two full years, the year they have already had the funds & another full year. It would seem like a name like 1857 they would respect long term clients.

Yelp
This is a very nice small boutique hotel right in downtown Paducah, walking distance to the Quilt Museum, Railroad Museum, the Freight House restaurant, waterfront, etc. Very nice room at a quite reasonable rate. Highly recommend it to anyone wanting to be right in downtown Paducah. Only recommendation to make is to be careful about the room they put you in; our room (#101) has a long glass wall right on the sidewalk. While it was quiet when we were there on a Tuesday night, I could imagine it could get quite noisy on a weekend night. The other rooms are set back from the sidewalk and appeared to be much quieter.

Yelp
The hotel is really cute and the people who work here are very nice. I can't give it 5 stars only because it's not a quite place. There was an event going on in their downstairs venue which we could hear the music and dj clearly. Also the people in the room next to us we could hear as if they were in our room. So we didn't get much sleep. Otherwise it was nice

Yelp
The hotel is exquisitely renovated. You will feel like royalty. Eats and drinks are within walking distance. There is also entertainment nearby, though it didn't appear to be happening on my trip which was in the tailend of the pnademic.

Yelp
Seems to be the only nice hotel in Paducah and it is super interesting. Our room was huge and nice and right in the middle of downtown. Not crazy about the weird loud noise in the morning that woke us up though - I think it was a horn on a boat going down the Ohio River. But it went on and on and on - there was no way to sleep through it and obviously nothing the hotel can do about it. But just know that if you stay here, that may happen. There is also no hotel parking lot - we lucked out with a parking spot on the street in front of the hotel. The area seems pretty sleepy (even though it is downtown) so I don't imagine that it is difficult to find parking on the street. Overall, it was a perfect place for a one-night stay and I recommend it if you are in the area.

Yelp
We've stayed here before. Very nice boutique hotel. Much to do in historical Paducah. Beautiful city. We won't stay again. We requested & booked the specific room we wanted and received confirmation which included the room #. Upon arrival, we were put in a different room because "the owner switches rooms/guests around all the time". What's the point of highlighting rooms & allowing guests to choose a specific one if it's randomly changed without notice? So, we're downstairs in Room 103 and dislike it very much. It's off the main entrance & bar. Loud. We hear everything happening at the front desk. We hear the guest coffee being made at 6am. We hear the folks above us use the toilet and doors closing. And it goes on & on. We chose the 2nd floor and a much bigger room. It was confirmed. You switched us without any communication. We loved you 1857 on our other visits but we don't love you anymore. You 50% ruined our visit to one of our fave cities.

Yelp
I'm not one to give 5-star reviews (especially of hotels) very often, but this place is GREAT. Our room was spacious, with high ceilings, a nice bathroom with extra large shower, nice toiletries, huge windows, huge TV. The staff was kind and generous. Check-in was super quick and easy. There's no restaurant in the hotel, but there's a nice bar, well-stocked with bourbon. We stayed Wed-Thursday nights, and there was great live music both nights. There are interesting things to see within a three-minute walk --our kid loved looking at the river(s) and the decommissioned train: a steam engine with a red caboose. Downtown Paducah has handful of new restaurants and shops as well. This is so much better than staying at a chain place in a strip mall. Same price. For only having been open for less than a year, they're doing really well. Dings: no bottled water in the room or the bar. PS: I would definitely consider doing a larger event here, like a birthday party, etc.

Yelp
Check-in was a breeze, Lucas at the desk was very friendly & professional. Room was well appointed, bed comfortable, shower excellent, huge, with both hand-held and rain shower heads. A little short on storage space (two drawers, and one quarter of a closet) but that's not really a problem unless you're staying long. Water pressure in the sink was nearly non-existent and we could not get any hot water through it even after letting it run 10 minutes, So, there went one star. And this would have been a 4-star review except for what happened after we returned from dinner and decided to have a nightcap in the bar. We ordered two drinks. The bartender poured them, set them on the bar, then rang up $17 on the register. I handed her a $20 bill and a $10 bill ($30 total) and asked her to give me $8 in change, so her tip would be $5, or 29% of our $17 tab. She handed me the $8 change with a terribly sour look on her face, I asked her what was wrong and she said that I had just shorted her two dollars. I did the math for her out loud and without a word (but plenty of frown) she went back into the cash drawer, took some bills out of it, and stuffed them in the tip jar next to the register. I asked what the problem was and she said "Don't worry about it." We took our drinks to a nearby couch and it took just those few seconds for me to boil over because of her apparent ingratitude for a 29% tip, or the possibility that the woman was trying to scam a couple old folks out of some more money. That pretty much ruined what had been an otherwise good experience. I took the drinks back to the bar, untouched, set them there, and walked out. Fortunately that was a while ago and I'm not nearly as angry as I was, so it's three stars instead of the zero I had resolved to give as I walked out of the bar. Moral of the story, we would recommend the hotel, but if you go in the bar, keep two hands on your wallet..

Yelp
Well, there is a lot of potential for this to be an exceptional place, but I was abruptly woken up from sweating at 2:30 in the morning, ugh. I woke up to find the heat was auto set to 86 degrees starting at midnight everyday! So I tried turning the AC on only to find that there is no AC, rather only heat or fan modes. So I turned the exhaust fan on and tried to get back to bed, I woke back up sweating at 5:30 and it dropped down to 82... long story short, it wasn't a great nights rest. The room was beautiful, shower was fantastic and everything seems new. They host art throughout the hotel that is for sale. The back portion has a bar open from 4-10 pm, but if not busy will close at 8pm. The facility would be great for hosting events as they have a stage area and plenty of room. The bar has plenty of options and the bartenders are pretty good. I may try this one again, in the hope of a better experience with the HVAC.
