The 1917 at San Antonio Winery

Our waiter Garret was amazing, kind, and attentive. Everything we had was spectacular. I had the short rib in mashed potatoes. Wow! 🙌🏽

We came to The 1917 Wine Bar and Bistro to celebrate my graduation, and it was a great choice. The outdoor space was really nice, and the live jazz made the lunch feel special. The staff were kind and helpful. We started with red wine, which we enjoyed with the crispy calamari and tasty meatballs, the sauces were really good. For the main dishes, we had the chicken salad, spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, and cauliflower pizza. Everything tasted fresh and was full of flavor. It was a lovely lunch, and we’re happy we picked this place for the celebration. Would definitely come back!

This was our first time here. The atmosphere was very beautiful, perfect for brunch or a nice lunch out. I ordered the sangria, which was delicious and sweet and a lasagna for lunch. The lasagna was very flavorful. The sauce was tasty, with plenty of cheese and meat. It is definitely shareable. The service was great. Our server was attentive and friendly and gave us some great recommendations. I will be back!

Alex was so knowledgeable about wines and very nice. He was patient with us. We were celebrating a my best friends birthday and he made it extra special. I took his recommendations to order the cesar salad and the lasagna and that did not disappoint. Belle was our server at the bistro and she was so much fun and nice. She gave exceptional service and was very attentive to our needs. Definitely coming back for the same things. It made for a very fun Thursday afternoon!

We came here for brunch and ordered the steak and eggs and ribeye. Unfortunately, the steak did not meet our expectations—definitely not a place I’d recommend for steak. It was chewy, tasteless just not good at all. The pork belly was delicious. The ambiance of the restaurant is lovely, but the food quality doesn’t match the price. For brunch, we spent $165 for two people, which felt steep for what we got. The service was also lacking. While our server was friendly, they took a long time to bring our drinks and check on us, which was disappointing. If I ever return, it’ll only be for the wine and their amazing bread, which were the highlights of the visit. Otherwise, I’d look elsewhere for a better brunch experience.

I’ve been going to the winery since I was really young with my family. Food never disappoints. 1917 is beautiful and I’m glad to see the menu has changed a little bit to align with Magdalena. Went recently with a friend. We ordered a variety of items which were all delicious. A nice bottle of wine complimented the experience and our waiter was extraordinary (Bernardo). Only 2 issues is the blueberry bread pudding doesn’t come with a scoop ice cream (and not an option to order as a side) and of course the business hours. We’ve missed out on so many dining experiences because of the hours and weekends are just too crowded. Other than that, always an enjoyable experience.

We, ladies, had a SaturDate lunch and we were so happy they accommodated us as a walk in. It is our first time dining at 1917 as we usually go inside the restaurant. Our server Bernardo absolutely was the best. Bernardo was so attentive and also took his time to explain the menu and even went to the bartender to give my friend a nonalcoholic version of the drink I was drinking. The food serving was very generous. I had the steak and bone marrow and I could not finish it. The ambiance was perfect for our little get together. I totally recommend this place and I do hope you get Bernardo to help you.

I celebrated my 51 st birthday at the San Antonio Winery, on March 30 th. I reserved the Stefano cellar room, for a private tasting. George, the steward, made my birthday 🥳 celebration at the winery an enjoyable and memorable experience. The wine steward, was very knowledgeable and provided interesting information about the history of the winery. I, loved the wine served during the wine tasting. Belle, the waitress, at the 1917 bistro provided excellent service. The food at the 1917 bistro is extraordinary and pairs well with the wine of your choice. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and fell in love with wine shop. I, felt the love ❤️ and was overwhelmed by joy. Stefano is a very delightful man. He gave me a birthday 🥳 gift and made my guest and I feel very welcomed at the San Antonio Winery. I, highly recommend a visit to the winery, it’s a gem in the middle of Los Angeles.
