The Abbey

Shockingly bad. The room was absolutely filthy (see photos). Stains on the furniture, stains on the bed, filthy dirty bathroom, stains on the walls. Clearly this wasn’t a “they forgot to clean the room”, this was just the quality of the hotel. The bathroom was in appalling condition. The bed was in appalling condition. The room was in appalling condition. There was a hotel room safe under the bathroom counter… that was not in working order. So there was nowhere to lock up valuables. Overall incredibly disappointing considering the cost of the stay. I’ve stayed in other hotels in London at a similar price and this was not a remotely comparable experience. The staff were friendly enough at the front desk, but when we checked out we weren’t asked how our stay was and I can only imagine the staff have stopped asking or prefer not to ask. Photos included: - Stained furniture - Stained bed - Filthy dirty stained bathtub - Stained bathroom ceiling and wall (presumably from upstairs leaking toilet - fecal water stains!?) - Shower head not working (video) - TV not working (video) We were seriously considering leaving on the first day and booking in at a different hotel and just accepting that we would not get a refund. Would not recommend and will not return.

Good points about the Hotel Staff members we’re amazing, and really welcoming and well mannered. Good location Room was clean and comfortable bed, bad point sofa was very uncomfortable due to being worn out broken, Also the bathroom was very disappointing due to the taps being loose, also the bathroom looked like it needed resealing around bathroom due to the black mould looks like it needs replacing or being repaired Also floor boards are very squeaky in the room we stayed in.

Due to the age of the furniture/ bathroom etc the stay was semi enjoyable considering the price. The location of the hotel is pretty good since the access to the underground is easy and fast. The personal was also very kind and polite. Unfortunately our room did not get cleaned one day for whatever reason. Nevertheless, I won’t book the stay a second time. Thanks and all the best.

The shower/tub was rough. It was clean, but I would have been just as happy with only a shower not an older tub with jets. A lot of water was lost from the handle of the tap. Renovations aren’t cheap, but there are opportunities in the bathroom. I also had a hard time with the separate hot and cold taps for the sink. But the location was great, the room was clean, and the staff was lovely. I would stay again for the location.

We stayed at The Abbey last year and liked the location so much we chose to stay again for a night while travelling through London. Excellent proximity to the train station which was good when travelling with luggage. The rooms are a little dated but we found them spacious and comfortable enough. The fan was appreciated for a warm day and night.

Unfortunately my stay at the abbey was not as comfortable as i thought. I booked a room at the ground floor but it turned out to be at the basement so it was very humid, with mold on the bathroom walls. Also because of that the smell in the room was bad. The light in the bathroom was related to a strong noise. Moreover , they did not make our room because we don't specific ask for that. Positive points are the very kind receptionists and the position, very close to the Notting hill gate.

The rooms were clean, and we were warmly welcomed by the receptionist. Both the rooms and the bathroom were well-maintained. The only issue was with the room service, which closed at midnight.

Unfortunately not anything close to a 4 star hotel. Totally not worth the cost in my opinion. Would be fine if it was cheap. Had to go up 6 flights of stairs with heavy suitcases, no lift. Carpets and shower liner were very dirty.

This hotel has a brilliant location at only 100 yards from Notting Hill tube but from there it's all downhill. My TV did not work but it soon became obvious that the manager had no intention of doing anything about it. I complained daily and was given lame excuse after lame excuse. It was abundantly clear that they were just plain too cheap to spend the money on repairs. Hope that everything works while you are there. If you visit Notting Hill be sure to stop by the wine bar where the Australian ambassador carried out his honeypot operation on Papadopoulos.

This is a "quaint" hotel. Here's the bad stuff. There is no elevator but we stayed on the 4th floor and of course got no help from the staff. The bed is tiny b 6'2" and I was hanging off the end of the bed and it is about the width of a Full, not quite a Queen. There is no shower. Instead there is an old bath with jets that don't turn on and the ceiling is angled over the tub so one is forced to either sit down or hunch over to wash one's self. Here is the good stuff. It is sort of a cute looking place and it's on a fairly nice street very close to Notting Hill tube stop and they have free breakfast (with eggs and sausage) included and the staff was all very nice. Bottled water and "biscuits" are complimentary and the rooms are equipped with flat screen TVs that are maybe 20". Overall this is really just a B&B with mediocre breakfast, pretty horrible rooms, and a horrible bathing option. It should be a lot cheaper for what you get.

The stay has been great. The location in Notting Hill is perfect, 2 minute walk to the Tube. The room is good, the people great. Would definitely stay here on our next trip.

I've stayed in this hotel several times for business and I keep coming back. The staff are just fantastic, so helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is really quirky with chintz throughout. For me it ticks all the right boxes, perfect location, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds and good sized rooms with a bit of quirky appeal to make it stand out from your standard chain hotels (including mini libraries in every room). I'll continue to return and would certainly recommend it to friends & family!

No. No. Just. No. Room - awful; think servants' quarters. Staff - unhelpful. Location - great, but so many alternatives in Notting Hill that are preferable.

We spent 11 nights at the quaint, comfy and lovely Abbey Court Notting Hill Hotel. The room was clean, furnished daily with water bottles, biscuits/cookies, and mints. The bed was comfortable; and the room was a good size and included a mini-library. I also enjoyed having the towel warmers, furnished hair dryer, and teapot and cups, and teas.The 24-hour staff were friendly and helpful, particularly the breakfast attendant, Stanislav. He was always polite and attentive, conscientious and kind. Breakfast was served in a small, but charming conservatory and included a continental breakfast, or your choice of a full English breakfast. Stan's tea was perfect! The Notting Hill Gate tube stop was only about a 3 min. walk; and the bus stop only a couple min. farther. Great location. This is a wonderful place to stay for an old-world feel in a charming setting.
