We enjoyed our four nights and five days. We especially appreciated the staff from the front desk, housekeeping, to the restaurant staff! Their breakfast is much better than most hotels’ continental breakfasts. I would have liked bacon to be included at least a couple times a week, but made to order omelettes were great! The rooms and beds were comfortable. Great location!! We were within 10-20 minutes from attractions!

LOVED IT! Such a big upgrade from our previous hotel experience. Delicious complimentary breakfast. They have an omelet station. Staff are friendly and helpful. They restock efficiently. There is a pool here. It's close to many restaurants and stores. Restaurant in the hotel as well. Also close to the interstate. Absolutely loved our experience here. You can see the mountains as well!

I had a great experience at this hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and always ready to help. The room was comfortable and clean, making it easy to relax after a long day. The location is perfect, close to everything we needed. We also really enjoyed the food at the restaurant delicious and convenient. I’d definitely stay here again!

Best free hot hotel breakfast I've ever had...Every morning, there's an omelet station where the chef prepares your omelet just the way you want it. There's also a waffle station, and the coffee was delicious. Please try the gravy, chef's kiss. The service is also top-notch. Everyone is nice. When we visited, they had a water heater issue, so some rooms were unavailable. Despite that, the hotel is just what you need if you're planning to be out and about most of the day. Wal-Mart and Chick-fil-a are literally across the street. There are other places to grab a bite to eat as well. Saltgrass Steakhouse is also close and a great spot for dinner.

If I could give more than 5 stars I absolutely would. I had the most miserable day of traveling while my friend who booked our room was stuck at a connecting flight due to weather. Lorraine accommodated us in the kindest, most efficient manner to make sure I was added to the room to get in okay. Words cannot describe how grateful I am for the staff here. Upon walking in I was stunned at how beautiful everything was set up. It made me feel like I was staying at a resort. Thank you Lorraine and team for your kindness. I will definitely be back in my future travels :)

Google
Nice hotel & very good breakfast. Ms.Collien is amazing & the sweetest lady ever. She made our stay happy. Be sure to say hi to her! The fire alarms kept going off the entire 4 nights we were there with some being early in the morning & some late at night. Beware though if you have a pet with you they will try to tell you that it has to stay in a crate or must be present with you at all times even though it's a pet-friendly room that you pay extra for. I looked and the crate rule is nowhere to be found then or when I booked it. Even the guy at the front counter expecting my dog to be in a crate or with me at all times could not find the rules online himself. Overall it is a decent place to stay.

My boyfriend booked us a room at the hotel as a surprise. He wanted us to have a getaway, researched hotels in Colorado Springs and this hotel had great reviews, the pictures were nice and the breakfast had raves. We showed up from out of state, even previously calling to confirm we would be there but were running late. When we arrived at 1930, we were told we no longer had a room due to a pipe bursting, we were not offered to be upgraded, we were not called previously to find another hotel, the staff were extremely rude to my boyfriend and really degraded him. The staff sent our information to another hotel, which was a huge downgrade in amenities and breakfast, however the staff were outstanding and treated my boyfriend with respect for his military service. We were suppose to be meeting four friends at the hotel restaurant for drinks, those plans were changed due to the horrible experience from the front staff. This experience does not match what your website says “ Our guests are our number one priority and we are committed to providing excellent customer service and comfortable accommodations. We’ll do everything to ensure your stay is memorable”. We went to the hotel the following morning to follow up on the refund as my boyfriend still has not received a refund, when inquired about breakfast were told it would be $20 a piece for breakfast. $40 for two people for breakfast is ridiculous especially when my boyfriend did make reservations. I hope y’all treat everyone, especially Veterans and military better than this as y’all are “The Academy Hotel”. Nothing was done to rectify the situation or experience.

Google
This was a wonderful place to stay. The room and the bed was amazing. And the complementary breakfast. Oh my goodness. It was off the charts. Never had one so great. They cook omelette with whatever you want in it. You make your own Belgium waffle or 4 small ones.. Plus a Buffett table with oatmeal, sausage, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes chunks. And a pastry table. If you left hungry it was our own fault. Beautiful views and location was great. I will always come back here to stay when I come back.

Yelp
What a fun hotel at a great price! I never would have thought to stay here, except we were recommended it by my brother-in-law. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside was a lovely surprise. There is plenty of space to sit and hang out downstairs. It's dimly lit in the evenings, which give it a great calm, relaxing vibe. The pool is indoor on the first level and there wasn't any off putting smells or otherwise. It was a decent temperature - though could be a smidge warmer. The room and beds were very comfortable! Breakfast was delicious - especially the omelet station! Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Would absolutely stay again!

Yelp
This hotel feels luxurious , really feels like a resort hotel. But make sure you watch your bank account when you go out to eat in there restaurant. They help themselves to a tip without permission. Our bill was 62 something they charged us 80, My fiancée and I made a reservation for 3 days, paid just under $300 , we went swimming this morning (on our second day) just to come back to our room to be told we have to check out or pay for another night. When we made the reservation, the nightly rate was 81 today they charged us 145 for 1 night!!! The staff here is also rude and inconsiderate of there guests. I've stayed at many hotels and I've never felt this way on any of them. Because this has never happened, I am highly disappointed.

Yelp
Great room. Great price. Great location. No complaints about cleanliness or service. The included breakfast is a huge perk and this hotel ended up being one of the nicer places we stayed while in town.

Yelp
This was a very nice hotel. Everyone was polite and courteous. I was greeted upon arrival and quickly shown the way to my room. As I walked to my room. The ambience and decore was so great. I love the fact they have the pool centered dead in the center of the hotel. The breakfast was awesome. I was grateful for the fresh made to order egg white omelet, French toast , ham and sausage were on point. The cooks and hostesses were so polite and chilled. The sweet tea was just right no complaints here. They had so many options to choose from so you definitely had variety. We will definitely be back. I would recommend them to family and friends.

Yelp
The staff and hotel are great. Older hotel but feels modern. Room is clean and comfortable. Near the free way but not to close and accessible to different shopping areas.

Marlena R.

Yelp
Have been to this hotel multiple times. Always a great stay. Clean rooms, attentive staff, and great breakfast selection. Great value, love the fireplace in the lobby, and would highly recommend.

Yelp
Humid room but A.C. Amazing breakfast Amazing pool especially during night Amazing customer service at falcons bar & grill buffet I had a great time

John P.

Yelp
This is my home when in the Springs when visiting from downtown Dallas Tx. . I also own mountain forest property in this area so it makes sense to stay here. I've stayed here so many times, either you love it or hate it. I love it for the amazing service provided, generous breakfast buffet, and this hotel has a 80's vibe and decor. Very well maintained. The indoor has that Astro dome look and feel. Very active hotel at night, kinda romantic, and has a bar restaurant that is amazing. This is a Colorado gem!!! Enjoy your stay

Yelp
This was a very nice experience for me and my family. A total of 8 of us stayed in this hotel. We checked in late on a Wednesday evening. The lady that checked us in was super nice. As we walked in through the front doors we all were surprised to see how beautiful it was inside. We had a room on the 4th floor. My other family members had rooms on the 2nd floor which confused them a bit because they had to take the stairs found on the opposite side of the hotel to where the elevators were. The rooms were clean. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom's decor was modern and sleek, however left little sink area for your stuff. My favorite part of our stay was their complimentary breakfast. It's very organized as well. You get a blue breakfast ticket per person, per stay. They had an omelette station, waffle station, fruit, bacon, sausage, biscuits, eggs, gravy, cereal, toast, and of course, juice and coffee. Everything was delicious! They had an inside pool. Initially, we thought how weird because it was in the middle of the lobby, but thankfully no one was inside both nights we were there. My son and hubby played ping pong and foosball near the pool. There was an outside patio area right next to all this. My guys loved having it all to themselves. It's location is great because it's in the middle of everything. To be honest, I'm a bit confused to why other reviews were so bad when we had a great time here. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
My stay at this hotel has been mixed at times but when I had an issue, I sent an email to the general manager, Elizabeth, and recieved a prompt, kind reply, which I really appreciated. I am currently staying here and the place is very cool, although some of the amenities (pool and bar/grill) have had limited use while I have been here. I'm hoping our last evening and morning go well, and if they do, I'll come back and edit this. I would give this a soft recommendation, but it has definite potential and I would consider staying here again in the future if I come back this way.

M K.

Yelp
I like this hotel and I would stay here again. Maybe it's not for everybody. Here are the pros and the cons: Pros: The free breakfast. There is an omelet station and you can even make your own waffles. Coffee is good, not great. Overall, much better than the typical cafeteria food you get with a free breakfast. The rooms can be easily FULLY darkened. I love a room that you can get pitch black. Sure, you might need to put a towel at the door or throw something over the clock, but there is zero light coming in the through the window shade when it is pulled down. Location: Very convenient to the highway and shopping. Noise: the air conditioner provided a lot of white noise, with no rattling, so it's easy to sleep. Indoor swimming pool in lobby. I enjoyed using the pool after hikes and it creates a fun atmosphere in the lobby. It is heavily chlorinated, which is reassuring. Cons: Wifi is slow, especially for pages with a lot of images or videos. Rooms and some of the common areas look a little dated, but, the bathroom looks modern. Room service--including coffee pack refills--is only every other day. If you look too closely you'll see that surfaces look a little banged up here and there. Paint chips, stuff like that. Peking lot and entry are unimpressive.

Yelp
Where do I begin. Trouble checking in such that we had do go to the front desk 3x to get it right. We then were in it room, which was nice, for half hr, when another guest keyed in and entered. They were given the same key, same room, by same clerk within the same half hour. Luckily we were dressed. The front desk never apologized and acted like this was common. The next day upon returning from lunch, we found both our keys were inactivated, again the desk seemed unphased and uninterested. Then the swimming pool had issues?!? We've stayed here twice before, and the breakfast was incredible. Now? Not so much. Omelets are great. Other food was cold or dried out due to bottom heating. No fruit. No oatmeal. No bagels. No yogurt. Very sad. Honestly, we see little reason to return. Next time we'll look elsewhere. Too much trouble.

Yelp
I will never stay here again! Grounds ugly - no upkeep Building and furniture old - needs updating Window condensation- couldn't see out our window WiFi bad - couldn't connect Sheets don't fit - kept coming off the mattress Pillows lumpy AC bad - it was either too hot or too cold Breakfast unhealthy - fake eggs and no healthy choices. Walls thin hear everything. Gym old and no equipment - bench was missing pieces.

Yelp
Do not stay here!!!!! Worst hotel experience of my life! 1. Rude maid service that is sporadic, leaves rags, partially cleans rooms, doesn't refill towels, cups, or make beds. When I called the front desk to ask for service, the head maid came up to my room and got aggressive with me saying she cleaned it even though she had not. She got physically very close to me and I felt deeply uncomfortable and kept the room locked. I had to go to the front desk for towels and cups. 2. Wi-Fi apparently doesn't work well for Mac computers so it's spotty at best. The last two days of my stay, it was down for the whole hotel. The employees were complaining that the owner refused to fix it. 3. Near homeless encampment, cops had been called while I was here. Homeless enter the hotel often. 4. Noisy 5. Bad beds 6. Lack of ventilation 7. Understaffed 8. A lot of trash around the premises Positive: 1. A couple of the staff were nice 2. Plenty if parkijn

Yelp
Great staff, clean rooms including the dog rooms. We were the for 3 days and 2 feet of snow. The breakfast was a real meal and came with the room.

Yelp
I stayed here for 3 days with my 77yr old parents so that we could attend an Air Force Academy graduation. This hotel charged $249 a night per room and was totally in the category of a $49 a night hotel. We were told to use the entrance at the back for the T Room access. As you can see if was just totally cluttered and unsafe. On the last morning, my mother tripped and fell over this crappy rug in the hallway. When I went to tell the front desk, the clerk just gave me this blank look and said "ok". I told him, I needed to see the manager. Out came Jake who was just as disinterested as his clerk. He walked with me to see my mother and never once offered an apology. I insisted he get her some ice and told him I wanted to file a report. He moved at a glacial pace to get her some ice. He says the GM was not an on-site and didn't work on-site. He told me to contact HR. I called the number I was given and no one returned my call. I also emailed them and received no response. This place is truly 2nd rate. Don't waste your money.

Julianne S.

Yelp
The WiFi is really bad don't even use it. Can't load a single thing. Room is not that clean. Pool is a weird cloudy color...The breakfast taste really nasty. WORST WIFI EVER.

Karen K.

Yelp
We have stayed at this hotel during other events with our group. We always book the first floor Kings Spa suite. As we checked in this weekend I was told the 1st floor suite was not available. Very disappointed. Days later received a call from the manager. She was very argumentative and only apologized for the misunderstanding of the front office staff with no compensation. The restaurant was also very poorly serviced. We also, as in the past, didn't receive the complimentary breakfast. Very poor customer service. Hotel rooms are also very rundown and not clean.
google avatar

Terry D.

Yelp
Give them a chance, and you won't be disappointed. Just minutes from the Air Force Academy and near shopping and restaurants glore. The lobby area is wonderfully in an open beam style. Rooms are clean and well kept, and the staff is friendly and attentive. We did not try the bar or grill only because there are so many dining choices nearby.

Abby S.

Yelp
we stayed at this hotel and payed extra for a "mountain view". the view we got was another hotel and a homeless tent. when we got to the hotel, the room stank. there were scratches and dents on the wall and the air conditioner didn't work. we also booked this place because of the inside pool. the pool was closed and the "game room" was a room with a tv and a table. the Wi-Fi sucked and the shower made odd noises. The breakfast was good, and they had plenty of options, but the waffle makers sucked. also, we had a view of trash out our window. 0/10 don't recommend.

Tonya B.

Yelp
The room had a smell to it. I upgraded with booking.com (that's where I made my reservation) and got a standard room. I was supposed to get a military discount that did not get taken care of. When I went to the front the evening manager got abrupt and called me "Tonya" with disgust. He offers no help and said since my reservation was made with booking.com he couldn't do anything. We got I at 1:30 Friday morning and my room was never cleaned on Friday as we were at the Air Force academy for my boys whom are being recruited by them. The beds were not comfortable at all and the fridge was hot and stunk. Do not stay here and if you do, do not expect any help of there is a problem. Just stay at the Hilton and sleep well. The walls are paper thin.
google avatar

Daniel C.

Yelp
This was an awful experience. Our bed had the most massive dip in the mattress and sleeping was incredibly difficult. We went to the desk the next morning and said we'd like to change rooms. The receptionist said "Is your bed sinking?" or something to that effect, before we even mentioned the problem. In other words, they'll give rooms knowing good and well the beds are TERRIBLE. We elected to check out a day early and drive back home, cutting our weekend excursion by a day. I feel like I learned a good lesson with this trip. Pony up the extra $20-40 and get reserve a room at a nicer place.

Yelp
Let me just say our family enjoyed this hotel. The staff was kind and professional. The rooms could use more lighting but over all it was spacious enough for our family of four. The kids loved the pool area and I enjoyed having a drink by the fire in the lobby. No complaints here!
google avatar

Amy L.

Yelp
My family and I had a mini spring break here. Only been to the springs for specific trips, never just to play tourist. I chose this hotel mainly for an indoor pool and the breakfast buffet. Who doesn't love free food. Pros - Free buffet breakfast Swimming pool open to kids until 10 pm Very spacious and open inside the hotel The restaurant on site is fairly priced and delicious! We got the pizza and loved it. The most FRIENDLY staff I think I have ever encountered at a hotel! Really nice seating area in the common foyer that's open and comfortable. Very good price! Cons The pool was kinda dirty - maybe just needs to be skimmed more often? They have areas for cash gratuities for the breakfast but do not accept cash at the restaurant so they are very hit or miss for getting change for a tip. Would be nice if you could add on to your room bill if they cannot break large bills. Those two things are really my only complaints! Obviously my complaints are really on staff more property management. I cannot say enough how friendly and helpful and accommodating all of the staff was!

Marvin T.

Yelp
Great rooms, excellent breakfast with cook to order omelets Good location, friendly staff. Highly recommend it.

Yelp
We arrived at the Academy Hotel where we made a reservation and we could not get in our room because the card reader was down. The ladies behind the desk gave is poor customer service and could not figure out how to do the right thing, which is give us our room keys and process the card when the reader comes back online. We even tried to offer cash but they don't take cash. I asked for a manager and was told he comes in at 4pm, so instead of calling the manager we were t9ld to wait until 4pm. I just drove 16 hours from Texas, so needless to say I was exhausted. I will try to get a hold of someone at their corporate office and have a very stern conversation on what proper customer service looks like.

Yelp
Very outdated. We checked in and immediately checked out. Dirty, hair in the shower. Old decor. Guy urinating in the parking lot. Didn't feel safe. They did reimburse my money back after 3hrs on the phone with Expedia.
google avatar

Monica D.

Yelp
It's been 3 years and my kids STILL reference this awful dining experience! What an impression! I hope they've improved because USAF Academy families who may end up here deserve better.

Eden G.

Yelp
Very nice rooms. Bed was comfortable, but I personally wasn't a fan of the pillows, but I'm picky. The free breakfast is only okay, in my opinion, n as they didn't have any bacon or big muffins. However if you like omelettes they you'll lo e breakfast because that the main thing. It's in a good place in the city near plenty of restaurants and stores. Staff were super nice and not invasive. Overall, nice place. Would probably stay again.
google avatar

Jared W.

Yelp
Fair priced hotel that was very dated. Breakfast was awesome, hotel staff was friendly. Common areas were dirty, dated and needing fixing of worn goods.

Keith M.

Yelp
This is a great place to stay It is well managed and clean. It looks recently renovated. The indoor swimming pools is very cool. The bar-and-grill have great food and drink and the complimentary breakfast has many delicious options. I highly recommend the very reasonably priced Academy Hotel. Every time I go to Colorado Springs I'll be staying here!
google avatar

Jennette R.

Yelp
This hotel was nice, yes outdated, lobby area is great! But so dark at night. Fireplace was forgotten about 2 nights we were there. Staff did not turn on. Price is decent, breakfast was the same all 3 mornings. and when they say 10am, they are taking it down at 10am, even coffee and juice. We stayed when multiple college track teams were staying, they were warming up in the hall and breakfast and the whole stay made it feel like a HS caterfia. Front Desk was pleasnt enough. Great location, They do have a resturant on site but there was no food menu in the room or posted outside, wouldnt you like to encourage guests to eat at THEIR resturant. The pool was rigrid cold. Still wish they did stayover service. I mean no staff were required to wear masks so why not. Overall, I would recommend, but call ahead to see if any groups are staying.
google avatar

Amanda B.

Yelp
Hotel is extremely overpriced for the "quality." Room was very outdated, dirty, not taken care of at all. Pet room was disgusting: scratches from out of control dogs on doors, walls, all furniture. They didn't even finish painting in places! Caulk around bathroom is cracking and filthy. My son walked around in his socks for about 5 minutes and they were black! I would expect that kind of room at a cheap, $60/night hotel, not for $200/night! The breakfast and pool are not worth that kind of up charge. Will never stay here again.
google avatar

Matthew D.

Yelp
Pretty bad. The location is convenient but the building itself is very mediocre. The rooms are tiny, the Wi-Fi is subpar, and worst of all is the noise insulation... or lack thereof. It is very easy to hear people talking in the rooms next to yours. It's annoying trying to find the perfect angle of the shower knob so that the water is not either scalding or freezing. The toilet seat in our room would not stay up unless you held it. Choose another place to stay if you can.

Cassidy S.

Yelp
My vacation here was pretty bad. Only plus was the breakfast and location of the hotel. My family spent over $800 for one week only for the pool to be filled with 20 kids the first 2 days of our arrival. The pool was closed the other 5 days we were here. The bathtub drain was clogged, and it would take 30 minutes for it to drain. Another thing is that the wifi is TERRIBLE. I couldn't scroll through Facebook while laying in bed. All it does it sit there and load. To make that worse, they must have some sort of blocker for signal because I couldn't get any signal inside the building. As soon as I stepped outside, I had a full 5G signal. When complaining about the pool being closed looking for compensation, I was told the pool was a "free amenity," but it doesn't say anywhere that it's was "free."" Not even an hour later, the "pool closed" sign that had been up for 5 days was taken down an hour early from when they said it would be "open." Side note: The restaurant that is in the building is so expensive. Be ready to spend $30 a person. Your best bet is to go somewhere else.

Yelp
We booked to stay at the Academy Hotel November 9-11th. We were excited about our trip, but will now be canceling do to your front desk staff, specifically the manager.  We have three dogs traveling with us (one 35lb mix and two 5lb toy poodles) one of which is a service animal for my father who has Alzheimer's. This dog reminds my father to eat, it calms him, and it reminds him to take his medication. He is certified to fly, etc.  I called because although we rarely have issues, it is always best to make sure. I explained the situation and was told no, and pressed for further information- even though under the ADA this is not necessary and it is actually illegal to ask. The front staff, specifically the manager, was rude and said that our dog did not qualify that it was an emotional support animal. I explained that no our dog does provide a service. Apparently,  even though it's fine for the airlines, it does not meet the manager's gold standard.  I'm so insulted and disappointed, I could not believe the judgment and mocking tone I received. I even offered to show the documentation of his disease etc, which is unnecessary and illegal to ask. It was humilating and discouraging. We will be canceling and I will be sharing this experience. Alzheimer's is difficult enough without adding to it the ignorance of an uninformed staff.  FYI for anyone who needs to know- Under the ADA,  public accommodation may not ask you questions about your disability or demand to see certification or other proof of your animal's training or status.

Yelp
I've stay here a few times, the lobby is beautiful ant the breakfast they off is the best. But last night I paid over 250 for a family suit and was very disappointed. As soon as I walked in the ottoman was all ripped up and should be thrown in the trash. It had 2 ac's that did not work we were all up until 3 in the morning because it was to hot to sleep. My son tried to sleep in the pull out bed and when I opened it the sheet hadn't been changes and it was full of potato chips then I looked down at the bottom of the bed and it was missing all the springs, so the bottom of the bed fell though to the floor. I called the front desk and all they said was sorry. I am very surprised they didn't offer to credit back some sort of compensation for the terrible night my family had to endure

Terra S.

Yelp
we ended up cancelling our reservation after being in this hotel for 30 mins. the room ceiling tiles were warped and sinking off the ceiling. the pool that was "heated" was freezing and not enjoyable to be in. the desk chair had crumbs all over and lastly, the room smelled like stale cigarette smoke (even after running the air conditioner) went to a Home2Suites and had a MUCH more comfortable stay.

Yelp
We were visiting my daughter and new grandson and picked this hotel to stay at because of the features offered. We got in VERY late (2am) and past our check in time. I was a bit unhappy that we technically got in a day later than planned and they still charged us for the day before! When we got in, there was nobody at the front desk. After waiting a bit, a security guard appears and asked if we had been helped yet--we told him no and he went in the back to tell them. Few more minutes go buy and a man appears from the back. He checks us in, instructs us to put yesterdays date on the check in paperwork and gives us our room cards and map of the property. The lobby was incredibly dark--it was kind of spooky to be honest! The room was ok. Nothing fancy about it. It was clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The a/c and heating unit worked well. The room we were in looked like it was in need of better repairs--there was a hard spot on the floor like something had spilled or leaked there and never got tended to. The walls were cracked and in spots-had bad patching of the drywall. Good thing we were not there to stare at walls and flooring though lol--The room did come with a coffee maker and microwave and mini fridge. The next morning--we went and took advantage of the free breakfast--which had a lot to offer! We were pretty impressed by that. This hotel has a fun indoor heated pool, but never enough clean towels there. There is also a game room of sorts with ping pong table and Foosball table. Next to the pool area is a wii-u that you could use too. The restaurant had reasonable priced food, and it was delicious. The lobby had a nice sitting area with a fireplace that you could sit on from all four sides. The hotel was reasonable price wise and is located in a good spot near places to eat and shops.

Yelp
**DO NOT STAY AT THIS UNSAFE HOTEL** This is going to be a very long review. What you should know, is this is an old, dirty, disgusting, unsafe hotel. Rude staff, drugs on the floor of the hotel room, unclean pool, bugs, broken door locks, food in the halls... I was informed by the neighboring hotel, that they receive numerous upset/unhappy guests at their location after leaving the DEPLORABLE Academy Hotel. The positive reviews of this hotel are fake, this place is the worst hotel I've ever had the displeasure of stepping foot in. We started by calling and spoke to a few people who were actually very nice. DON'T BE FOOLED LIKE I WAS! After speaking with a very pleasant receptionist about our reservation, she let us know that we could call before we were leaving to ask about early check-in. We called the morning before driving there and asked if there was a possibility of early check in. The gentleman "John" told us that "Absolutely! We have a room ready for you" I let him know when we would be there in about a half hour and he said that was no problem! When we arrived, the rude front desk lady "Colleen" said "we don't have a room ready" when I said we talked to John, she said "well he doesn't know, he's new". She told us the room was "in blue" so it might be ready and she'd check with housekeeping. While we waited I walked around lobby with my kids, we saw bugs and food on the floor. We checked out the pool that's right in the middle of the lobby with no privacy at all, just a gate around the pool. It was a nice size, but dirty, it was so cloudy you couldn't see the bottom...yuck. Colleen let us know the room was ready and gave us the keys, we made our way to the room, in the hall to the room we saw dried Mac n cheese, a piece of chicken and a fry. We got to the room and immediately it smelled of cigarette smoke, so bad my kids covered their noses and couldn't stand it. Having signed a waiver at check in stating that any sign of smoking would result in a $200 fee, I decided to go back down and let them know immediately. Colleen said there were no other rooms, so I could cancel if I wanted. What a weird response, no apologies or other alternatives. My kids were so upset and I looked at her and asked if there was any other option, she said the maintenance guy could come unlock the window to air it out, so I decided to give that a try. He finally showed up and when we opened the window, several people proceeded to smoke and partake in other drug related activities at the dumpster below our window. At this point we are just not staying in this place. I closed the window and while waiting for my husband and 15 month old to arrive I checked out the tiny, dirty, old room. Where do I begin? Ash on the broken AC unit, food splattered all over the counter, food/drink splashed on the table and lamp, the table was literally falling over with a completely broken leg. Dirty remote, stained sheets, hair on the bed, broken lock, BLACK MOLD and food all over the mini fridge ! THEN....I found nuggets of weed on the carpet, multiple nuggets in different places...you have got to be kidding me. I took pictures, grabbed my kids and got the heck out of there. I went to the front desk, asked for a manager and this little, rude guy comes out, I explain what I just experienced and he says "oh, sorry about that, I'll cancel your reservation." I would think after seeing the pictures I showed him, any reasonable business would be embarrassed, incredibly apologetic and try to remedy the situation, but no! What would have happened if my 15 month old got ahold of nuggets of weed and who knows what else?! I walked out with my disappointed children and we drove over to the Hampton Nextdoor. PLEASE, do yourself a favor and DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! The Hampton was clean, quiet, great breakfast and the same price!!

Yelp
One of the best customer services I've ever experienced at a hotel. Very clean, responding staff, and the breakfast is insanely good. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
I gotta say, for the time of year that I booked my reservation, the pricing at this hotel was very reasonable. I arrived late in the evening and the young man at the front desk was very courteous and helpful when checking me in. Unfortunately, their credit card machine had been out of service that evening so it was a bit more of a convoluted process getting me checked in but at least they had my reservation. From the looks of the lobby area, the hotel looked warm and inviting. I was surprised to see that the pool was out in the open next to the dining area. Pretty much everything about this hotel was out of the ordinary. The other thing that surprised me was the lack of elevators. I had travelled from Dallas straight from work and was in high heels and a skirt and I had to lug my luggage up to the second floor. Not fun, as my feet were already killing me. Although the room was fine, the other thing that was weird is that the window in my room was directly above the front desk and my "view" overlooked the inside of the lobby and dining area. I've never had a hotel room that didn't have a view of the outdoors. The two things that I would give high marks to is the breakfast buffet and the variety of channels available for viewing on the TV. I'd stay here again but would be sure to request a room with an outdoor view.

Yelp
Rooms "guaranteed" by 4:00 pm. Got here at 3:30 hoping room to be ready. It wasn't, no problem. Back at 4:00, room still not ready. The line of guests to waiting to check in ridiculous, and for what? No rooms are ready. Pool is cloudy as all get out and looks like it's been harboring bacteria since 1982.

Yelp
The Academy is hotel is a great option for your stay in Colorado Springs. Our room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, noise was very minimum, conveniently located off the highway, and a short drive to area attractions (Pike's Peak and Garden of the Gods). We got a very good rate for our room on Expedia. The check-in and check-out process were also both a breeze. We had a great 1 night stay at the Academy Hotel and if in the area again would definitely return. As may other reviewers mention and I would be remiss not to reiterate, the breakfast here is wonderful. It consists of a made to order omelet station, french toast and waffle station, as well as sausage and ham, danishes, cereal, yogurt, etc. Great perk included in the cost of the room. At least a $25 value if you go elsewhere to eat breakfast.

Yelp
A lot of thr reviews were not good BUT I LOVED my stay. Yes, it's an older hotel. It did not smell old. The beds were comfortable!!! The room was great. When I mentioned that I needed an elevator to my room they upgraded me immediately. The breakfast was Amazing. Omelet bar, lots of choices. The staff was super friendly. I didn't use the pool but it's inside and looked amazing. Open 24 hrs. I used the fitness room and it was great also. I will be back!!!!

Yelp
Had a pipe burst in my house and my insurance company put me up in this hotel. I requested them because of the indoor pool and even though my insurance company said they don't normal work with them they made an exception. Once I got there I realized why they don't work with them. They wanted a $200 deposit for a few days of prepaid stay from an insurance company. For what?! They're a step above a Motel 6 if you ask me. Cancelled the reservation and switched over to the Fairfield not far away. They're the same price for suites, they also have an indoor pool and no ridiculous deposits. I'll take my business elsewhere until they change their ridiculous policy.

Rooms are great and Comfortable. We didn't have no problems. We would come back again. They cleaned our room daily. I have been to Motels that Don't clean them while you're there. Yelp
This hotel is a nice, older hotel with some updates done here and there. It is two stories with no elevator that we could find, the halls and rooms are so labyrinthine that you do actually need a map to find where you'll be sleeping. These two things make lugging in your bags very cumbersome after a long drive. There are brand new, fancy sinks in the room but tiny old microwave and fridge. The room is dog friendly which was a HUGE point in their favor and something I really appreciate. They also have a little dog walk area with bags and a trash can which is also awesome. The room is clean, and large enough to not be right on top of my two kids and two dogs. The bed is soft. Overall, a nice hotel and for $89 a steal.
