This hotel is absolutely charming and visually exciting! For anyone who appreciates a uniquely artistic environment this hotel is fun from every angle! The art is creative and the atmosphere is sophisticated and relaxing! Every employee was charming and we have ordered almost the entire menu with ZERO complaints! It is conveniently located to most historic sites like the fort, USS Alabama and many of the old houses. The room was clean and well maintained each day! Bed was comfortable and flooring and bathroom clean. Overall this hotel deserves all four of its stars and I highly recommend it!

Google
Good hotel. Great Location. The bed was super comfortable. The staff was nice. The decor was weird, funny and it totally fit. There was one major complaint and that was that our tiny room had the absolute loudest air conditioner in a closet. When it turned on about every half hour, it was loud enough to wake me up. I did not sleep well. : ( Our room came with a free breakfast, but we were confused on where it was. There was a counter service cafe, but no set up for a free breakfast. We were disappointed and went and found breakfast a few blocks away. This idea for a free breakfast needs to rethunk and executed better! We were warned ahead of time that the valet service was not dependable, so we parked in the pay garage next door. The car was packed with our stuff from our beach visit. We had no problems with our car that night.

I have completely fallen in love with this establishment. I absolutely love the decor and the staff are all amazing. I will definitely be returning with friends and family. The view from my room displayed a gorgeous sunset backdrop. It just kept getting more and more beautiful as the night progressed.

Came here for our anniversary trip and where the hotel is nice and has some nice cool touches staff makes this place a no go to stay at. First and most important to point out…. Valet is absolutely horrible. We waited 15 minutes for our car only to be told we are getting to it it’s going to be a little longer. We ended up getting our key and getting the car ourselves since at that point we had waited over 30 minutes from when we called down from our room. We thought this has to be a fluke surely it will be better next time.. NOPE worse.. we waited 30 minutes and again we called 10 minutes before we left our room. There we were left late again. They were so incredibly rude too was so disappointing. We ate at the bar the first night and when the guy brought us silverware he said sorry we are out of napkins. Umm what? That was a first. I get it I’m a mom I’ll just wipe my hands on my pants but WHAT?? Not a single napkin in the entire place. Walls were very thin.. I could hear our neighbors ENTIRE conversation thank God all they were doing was talking. The rooms have a very cool vibe, high ceilings, they were clean and nice. But apparently you get no maid service unless you call and request for it. And hope you have a lot of time to call over and over cause they don’t answer the phone. Front desk as well as housekeeping. Listen what a great hotel.. another sad situation where the staff ruins the experience. Only good employee we had was the sweet tattooed girl at the bar.

Google
What a wonderful day! The staff and everyone we encountered there were lovely and so nice! Our room was so nice and comfortable, especially with the heat outside. We went to the living room lounge and had a flatbread and a couple of drinks while the piano player was there. It was so relaxing and the ambience of the whole hotel is out of this world. I truly felt like I was in New Orleans in a French hotel. I would definitely stay here again, no doubt about it.

Google
Overall had to give it a 2 star. This is a very unique high end portrayed hotel and it is. The inside, rooms all are top notch and 5 stars. The reason I am giving a 3 star is for 2 main reasons. 1. We were told by the front desk that they have all day 24-7 breakfast available. The morning we left we timed to grab breakfast on our way out and we were stunned. Breakfast is NOT all day and the "breakfast" is pre-made sandwiches, and drinks such as coffee, tea, etc. For such a nice hotel, bummer and I say disappointing to not have a typical breakfast... only pre-made options of a breakfast sandwich or whatever their misleading breakfast is pitched as. Second issue is, when you have valet service and car drop off service the least the 2 individuals working out front can do is open a door. You have a mom, kid and dad disabled. Mom is pushing her own bag cart which is fine, helping the family, we don't expect you to do it for us but many hotels do..whether out of kindness or just a common service offered. The LEAST you can do is hold the door open.

Google
Great location. Excellent service. The entry gives you a great first impression, and the rooms are very nice and comfortable. Valet parking is offered, but there is also paid parking directly behind the hotel. The pool is open and looks nice. Will definitely stay here again.

Google
The Admiral never disappoints. The new renovations were absolutely lovely and the food at Le Moyne's Chophouse was delicious. The hotel was very quite, no loud noises in the hall like slamming doors and loud kids. We love staying there when we visit Mobile.

Yelp
Stunning hotel. One of the nicest lobbies I've seen in quite a while. Even the halls on the room floors had some really nice art. Lots of small touches. I would highly recommend this. The lobby bar is flat out sexy. Did not have dinner, but had coffee in the morning. This place has quite a vibe and they're not even really trying. Outstanding front staff. Delicious fresh bake cookies at 9 PM. I hope I get back to Mobile soon to stay here

Seth M.

Yelp
don't stay here, plain and simple, the customer service sucked, the room sucked, the beds sucked, it's not worth the price you pay first, the customer service, we never felt welcomed here, the first people you meet behind the desk create an environment that feels you are intruding on their personal time, the rest of the staff is fine, they do their job, secondly, the room and beds, my room was not very clean around the edges, especially in the bathroom, the beds were uncomfortable, both beds were sank in, with one especially bad the pricing was ridiculous, especially the tacked on fees that are not communicated with you till after your stay overall, just save yourself the time and money and go somewhere else

Michael P.

Yelp
Update to my review. Aside from the unusable toilets and mattress with holes and springs sticking out, I paid $25 per day for Valet parking. I just got a parking ticket for $75, with a threat to send a bill collector after me, for my vehicle being illegally parked while in the possession of the hotel's Valet. Get this: the ticket says the parking fee was $10 per day. So I paid $30 extra for valet parking plus an additional $75 because they illegally parked my car, for a total additional parking cost of $105 for a two night stay. I can't believe I tipped them. Thanks for the service, The Admiral Hotel!

Bradley A.

Yelp
We thought this was a great little hotel. Recently remodeled (August 2024). Rooms are small but have all you need. Fitness center and outdoor pool. Cool lounge and restaurant. Food looked good but didn't eat here. Cookies at 9 pm. Super convenient to downtown. Saenger was two blocks away.

Rula B.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel. Cocktails in the lobby lounge was a beautiful setting with attentive service. Front staff was friendly and accommodating. Room was clean. The French bakery was an added bonus on departure morning. Valet service was easy in and out.

Mark O.

Yelp
I had a lovely stay at this wonderful boutique hotel. The lobby is stunning and very art deco, even the elevator doors are old school and classy. The room was spacious and comfortable and everything was super clean. Katie at the front desk was so friendly and helpful, well all the staff are super friendly and so helpful. The bar there is great with great food and the hotel has a cute little coffee shop with a great selection of snacks and coffee drinks. The rates were great and there is very affordable parking next door. The location too is great, right downtown, close to the restaurants, bars and a number of museums. I couldn't recommend this place enough.

Ty'ki R.

Yelp
Everything is incredible and so accommodating!! New renovation is impeccable! Luxury with a great rate! Definitely will be returning

Sharon D.

Yelp
Too much money. Did not feel we got the quality for the buck. The space is interesting

Chaveli G.

Yelp
We booked this hotel on our way back home to LA and they had a sale on their suite so we decided to get it along side our Expedia points we had. We paid around 234 for 1 night for a whole suite to ourselves. It was definitely worth the experience. The views were amazing and the surrounding was such a vibe. The lobby of the hotel is stunning and the suite was beautiful. My favorite part was the actual bathroom m. It had an amazing huge and deep tub and its own private room. We did though encounter what we thought was bed bugs, we never confirmed it nor were we 100% sure it was but it did for sure look like some kind of bug. We were super concerned as we had brought our dog but we all slept in the bed and did not wake up with any bites nor did my dog get itchy so we were super relieved. They also accept doggies! Although ut was one night it was worth the try.

Yelp
Went for a Memorial Day weekend getaway, away from the beach crowds, decided on downtown Mobile. We needed a pet friendly hotel, close to all the restaurants and bars. Absolutely loved our stay. Love the pool area, even though you on on a busy city street, it is private, the Astro turf around the chairs is great. You must also visit Corner 251- for a mid afternoon or nighttime drink. Shelly, John Luke and Craig are not only friendly, helpful and knowledgeable- they are great to chat with. Everyone in the hotel including the valet guys were super friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back.

Robert W.

Yelp
Absolutely horrible hotel and experience. 1. When I tried booking through a wedding block rate they only had double bed rooms left. I asked if they could give me the same discount just not in the same area/block for a smaller room. They said no. So I was stuck booking online after that call paying the same rate for the smaller room as it was for the discounted double bed room. 2. For ~$194 a night you would think they'd have free parking or free valet service. NOPE. Pay 27.50 per night for valet service that's only available between 6am to 10pm. Huge ripoff. 3. They are going through renovations - would have been nice to know before booking because that means zero amenities. 4. What this also means is that your room is hobbled together and smells like a mixture of mold and cat pee. The smell was so terrible we had to go get air spray but that did nothing for the quality of air which is obviously dubious with the remodel dust in the air. I can feel my lungs are now worse than they were before staying at this horrible hotel. 5. Did I mention this place is hobbled together? Oh yeah, the shower doesn't have a door or a permanently installed curtain. You get a curtain rod that falls down in the middle of your shower because the tile it's against isn't going to keep it from slipping when it gets wet. See photos. Carpet is barely put together, no handles on the bathroom door, holes in the wall. 6. Cockroaches coming out of the sink. Must I say more? 7. Worse than all of this is that you have to choose when booking to either book lower fee with no option of cancellation/refund or pay more for the OPTION of cancellation/refund. Obviously this was the wedding's suggested hotel so it wasn't a second thought to pay more when it was the hotel of choice. Had this ridiculous business scam practice not been a thing we would have left after the first ten minutes due to the air quality and mold. Literally we immediately left the hotel because we could barely breathe. 8. Almost forgot, good luck sleeping! This place is the loudest hotel room I've ever been in. The air conditioning alone sounds like a jet engine and then the walls keep no noise out. Their renovation people must start overnight too because what in the world is all the noise?!?! Absolutely absurd. Honestly such a huge waste of money. Had zero comfort and wouldn't recommend this hotel to even a worst enemy.

Scott W.

Yelp
Under renovations as of October 2023. * Hopefully the hotel will be revived and better in 2024. * Rooms are bare bones, and the hotel is a shell with no amenities. * TV selection is bare bones and doesn't offer the ability to stream. * disrepair. We literally have a leaking ceiling outside of our room. Yes, the staff has apologized, but frankly, the hotel is a mess and should have shut down with this amount of construction and disrepair. Hope they get it together.

Andrea R.

Yelp
I'm back again for a second time this is just a cute little boutique hotel. I like that it's close to things and people seem to be friendly the rooms smell great and are clean and the price for the room is on point.

Gwendolyn C.

Yelp
I would love to give this hotel five stars...the room we had was very nice, spacious and comfortable. However, their internet service is HORRIBLE. We frequently stay at The Read House in Chattanooga, TN, and we were excited when we got an email advising The Admiral Hotel is now a part of the Read House. So, we immediately looked at our calendars and found dates that would work for a stay at The Admiral. First, the good...Even though the hotel is old, it is well kept. We liked our room...the bed was comfortable; the air conditioner was great; the room was spacious; and the bathroom was very nice. Although, I really don't know how folks "of a certain age" would be able to get in and out of the tub...It is the highest tub I have ever seen. But, at least the room had a separate shower, and the shower was nice. The car valets were very kind and helpful as well as speedy. Now to the bad...the internet is HORRIBLE. I think it's time the hotel took a hard look at the internet service and upgrade it. It was HORRIBLE our entire stay. I had to work Friday morning and again this morning (9/26), and it is very stressful to not be able to do one's job on a timely basis. In order to get my work done, I finally had to use my phone as a hotspot. The second bad thing is a little more tolerable than such slow internet...every morning we had to let the hot water run at least five minutes before it got hot. However, once hot, It was REALLY hot. As I stated above, we enjoyed our room and enjoyed our trip but for the internet. We frequently go to Mobile, but because of the internet issue at The Admiral, I do not think we will stay there again. I cannot chance not being able to take care of work as it arises.

Yelp
Mardi Gras 2023 I am very LIVID & disappointed about the WHOLE Situation here !!! I was not made aware of the no bar, no restaurant and NO PARKING AVAILABLE for our stay.! $400 a night plus $63 a night for parking a night and no valet so i had to drive around Mobile at 10pm looking for a parking spot! Roughly $1500 for 3 nights and then having to find places to eat within walking distance... RIDICULOUS.. we are repeat customers but after this horrible experience we will never stay here again and i will make sure all know how much the staff didnt care!

G K.

Yelp
Such a disappointment for my favorite Wyndham hotel chain. I arrived late and was greeted at the front door nicely enough by a young woman. First thing that struck me was the musty smell - I'm not accustomed to this at hotels with this nightly rate The check in proc as was painful and the woman couldn't get the system to operate correctly so I had 5 incidental charges on my CC and another on a diff card after she indicated my card was not going through. The room was ok, clean but again nothing to compare to other Wyndham spots. The AC was crazy loud! Lastly the paper cups for coffee ( that's right, no regular coffee cups) leaked! I gave it three stars for the giant cookies that I was able to buy in the hotel restaurant. However, beware! $4.00 each

Lindsey S.

Yelp
The hotel looked great on their website and is pet friendly so we decided to stay here. The lobby looks nice but once you step into the elevator it all goes downhill. It is very outdated and not clean at all. We found mold growing on the ceiling and got switched to another room. The other room didn't have mold on the ceiling but there was mold in the shower and the bathroom sink. It was late and we were really tired. If this wasn't the case we would have left right away. The air condition ended up not working in the room we were moved too as well. We were all hot and I was 35 week pregnant to make things worse. When we checked out my husband mentioned the a/c not working and all the girl at the front desk said was sorry. I would not recommend staying here to anyone. Don't be fooled by the pictures on the website. This was the worst experience I've had at a hotel.

Dylan M.

Yelp
We were in town for the Senior Bowl although unbeknownst to us there were Mardi Gras parades rolling both days we were there making it difficult to get around and small windows to get your car in or out of the hotel (this isn't the hotels fault). Hard to judge a place during Mardi Gras as their pricing surges, but parking was double what I was told on the phone. The valets where overwhelmed. The staff at the desk were not overly friendly but did what was needed. The room was nice, nice bedding, shower, fridge etc. location is in the heart of downtown. Again not their fault but there were many drunken guests causing issues at night waking us up. Arguments in the hall etc. being from New Orleans I understand this is all part of Mardi Gras but wasn't appreciated by those who were in town to work. The pool area was closed, the gym was basic but fine. The parking app they use seemed of no use. I used it twice giving them 20 min each time before I walked down and yet they did nothing with that info. They didn't pull cars until you were there in person to request and then took a while as they were parking remotely due to parade routes. Perhaps things would have been more enjoyable not during Mardi Gras but that's what we experienced.

Lisa M.

Yelp
We reserved a 2 bedroom suite. Check in was fine. The lady at the desk even went above and beyond to find us outside to tell us that our room was ready. Valet was kind and helpful. Hurried to our room we dropped our bags and went out for the parade. Once back in the room I looked around and noticed SEVERAL things that were unsatisfactory for. $400 a night room. Stains on chairs, mold in coffee maker, broken shelf, light cover not against the ceiling, a used rag under the sink, mold on the outside of the windows, and a few more things. The staff was amazing. We switched rooms but even in 'The Admiral' suite the master bed rail was loose and both bathroom sinks had things under them. One trash and the other a bobby pin. There was also white substance at the base of the walls in several places.

Yelp
This is a grand old hotel in Mobile that has been renovated a bit much for my taste although it does retain some of its original art deco aesthetics. I would hope they could restore more of the original look of the place to really make it regain more of its former glory. The lobby looks nice but could use some of the original art deco look restored while the upstairs ball room and meeting room area has some interesting areas which include two balcony areas. I was enjoying exploring the different hotel areas until I walked into a downstairs area where I didn't see anything and on reaching the lobby again I got yelled at by a staff member for going into a "restricted area" although there were no signs indicating such so I found that to be very poor behavior for the hospitality industry. They have a nice looking outdoor pool area and the fitness room was locked up during my visit. The hotel rooms have been significantly updated although the "great view" I was told about for the room I stayed in was obscured by green algae or mold growing on the outside of the window that needs to be cleaned off. The hallway area on the floor I stayed on reeked of marijuana smoke. The restaurant options in this hotel were very underwhelming and overpriced for what they offered. There is no complimentary breakfast and the coffee they do offer is quite over priced and the quality of the coffee is not worth the cost. Overall this hotel has an excellent location in the theatre district of Mobile along with being near most of the night life in the city. The main reason I would stay here is simply due to the location. My video review of The Admiral Hotel is here: https://youtu.be/jVZ5ahnAAIw

Yelp
The Admiral was a wonderful port in a freighting storm. We were traveling to Florida during the June 18th Tropical Storm Claudette and thankfully had reservations. After check-in, we stopped by Corner 251 Café and ordered burgers & salads for dinner that we took to our room. The room was Wyndham elegant, and the hotel architecture just beautiful. The following morning I enjoyed chatting with the nicest gentleman whose name is Harry, and the Wyndham employee responsible to manage the breakfast station. I was not the only one who was enjoying the company of Harry, as a group conversation centered around the looming weather. The group consensus was to try and stay to wait out the storm rather than leaving right away. Which is what we did. The Wyndham was able to provide a late check-out which allowed us to miss much of the storm. Please tell Harry I, and the other travelers really enjoyed getting to know him a little bit - although he was always on task and working never missing a step. If only he was allowed to sit and chat with guests, what a pleasure that would be! Harry seems to be a fixture, I'll guess he has been with this establishment a few years! Again, thanks for the lovely accommodations and hospitality. We will return here on our next trip, and I hope Harry is working that day!

Yelp
Second stay here had a king size bed. Smaller room than the previous 2-queen bed but comfortable For two of us. The bed was so comfortable we didn't want to leave. We stayed until 9:30 a.m. Went out for breakfast at 7 am and a walk around, visiting two pretty parks and Wi dow shopping. Then came back to relax before heading to New Orleans. I have to say it was a bit noisy. I woke up at 3 am and heard a door close by open and close and people leaving at 4:50 am. As they closed/(let their door slam Closed) and proceeded to talk. Once people are in their rooms it is quiet but the hallways are noisy. I am sure I am one who does not think my talking in the hallway is going to be heard by someone in their room so it is understandable. We really do enjoy the rooms here and the decor and being within walking distance to Dauphin Street shops/Restaurants. And it is easy to get to off the interstate. I did, for the second time in two weeks, have to stop at the desk when I requested the iphone app key entry. It was mentioned if I was new to it, it takes a couple of times before it works right.

Noah S.

Yelp
This is a nice spot but they spent more money on their nice art work than the amenities. Air conditioners not even running my room was too hot and it's the middle of January I shouldn't be hot in my room in January this is absurd. There's no microwave and for a place that charges over $300 a night this is not worth the money. Rooms are big and the art is really nice but how is a microwave too much to ask.

Rashida D.

Yelp
I had to change rooms twice. NO UPGRADE offered. 1st room had a bad odor. 2nd room the TV didn't work! So irritating and the desk manager wasn't friendly. I will never stay here again. I've stayed here before during an annual conference but up until this stay, I will never recommend this hotel again. The gym sucked and there no amenities.

Brittany S.

Yelp
For years I have seen photos of this hotel and it's lobby and wanted to check it out because it looked gorgeous!! Wow the lobby is even prettier in person but the hotel needs some serious renovation. You can hear the elevator all the way from your room even if you're not near it. The rooms are quite small with extremely loud heater/air conditioner. My husband couldn't fit in the bathroom without turning sideways (he's wide shouldered) and we certainly couldn't both be in there getting ready. It was a jam. There wasn't enough lighting to see the clothing we hung up in the closet. The closet door was rusted to where it made a rough screech when opening or closing. However, we enjoyed the valet service for $20/night and the restaurant connected to the lobby has a nice ambience. Their website and hotel keys tell us to text to order room service which I thought was neat but after 30 minutes with no response we decided to call down where they told us they do not take orders via text even though the website says it. The food was OK but nothing to rave about. Overall pretty hotel but updates are needed to match the pricing.

Paul L.

Yelp
I love the remaining art deco touches in this old hotel. My room was very comfortable and I wish my bathroom could look as good as the one here. It was a marble wonderland. While the onsite restaurants could use some operational intervention, both have potential. Just don't let your hunger wait for a satisfying meal. You'll want to go elsewhere nearby.

Preeti M.

Yelp
I have never been to Mobile or stayed in a hotel so I don't have much to compare this to. We opted to stay here instead of the Renaissance RiverWalk so curious if that is any better. The rooms are updated which is nice but the hotel itself has a stench the second you walk in. The staff are nice enough but don't tell you there is no housekeeping during COVID. So every day you see people grabbing bath towels from the front desk. Odd. The valet is closed. There is a very sketchy parking deck they tell you to park in and it has many signs that your car will get booted. The check in person told us to take a picture of our license plate and provide upon check in. We did this and at check out the front desk woman said it was never noted in our folio. I sure hope we don't see a ticket a week from now! Overall, the bed was surprisingly comfortable and the room being updated was appreciated. Knowing this, we would still not book again based on the weird experiences and the old smell of the hotel. Oh and also, their restaurants are closed which means, you cannot even get a coffee/tea in the morning.

Raul D.

Yelp
The good: pretty clean and safe fantastic location literally minutes from most anything. Valet parking is expensive but we thought worth it as overnight parking downtown can be problematic. If you get high enough some great views. Courtyard with small pool is nice. The bad: non valet parking is dodgy. Mold on the shower ceiling, on the 8 th floor it took 45 seconds for hot water to climb up, nearly non existent housekeeping, even when we asked. Front desk uninspired but Happy to give out supplies when asked . Even o n the 8th floor street noise can be distracting and not much of a police presence downtown but felt very safe during daylight strolls. Very small pool. Sink area always wet due to poor design. Small oddly shaped bathroom. Not great Wi-Fi.Frankly I think the place is poorly supervised for being 'The Admiral' it just isn't but has the potential.

Karla W.

Yelp
The age of the Admiral is a factor. The bathroom layout is poor because the vanity, toilet and bath are all in the same room which is very small. More important is that the rooms are too dark. It's hard to do makeup and hair in the dark. Put some lightbulbs in the rooms. The beds were comfortable though and the rooms were spacious. The restaurant/bar were very good. Good food and very friendly servers. We really enjoyed that.

Pauline L.

Yelp
I booked my accommodation incorrectly just now and I called to let them know that as soon as possible to cancel the booking however the receptionist said I am unable to cancel and can only change the date. Even though the booking is made in the future. THIS IS NOT OKAY AND LACKS FLEXIBILITY.

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
I absolutely adore this hotel - from the staff to the rooms, everything! This is a gorgeous boutique hotel with the luxuries expected from it being under the Hilton Curio brand. ROOMS: Lavishly decorated and unique. You will not want to get up out of bed in the mornings because the beds are so comfy. The television was a little small for the room, but definitely not an issue for us at all. I loved the bathroom set up - a dressing area outside of the bathroom - two separate doors. Great water pressure. The bathroom did not have a fan though so I steamed it up pretty good with my long hot showers! I loved everything about this room. PARKING: Do the valet parking! It is super convenient. They have self-parking too, but the valet folks are so helpful and it made check-in and check-out super easy. GROUNDS/LOCATION: The pool area is so neat! It is a little oasis in the midst of the city. It has a retro look to it. STAFF: They were so nice! The valet made things easy - he unloaded my car for me and took my things inside. The front desk was super helpful and cheery. They all seemed to enjoy their jobs, which was refreshing! CONS: We had a great view from our room, BUT, the window had some sort of seam failure (fogging within the glass - see picture) so we could only see out of it if we stood on our tip-toes. Other people have mentioned the HVAC unit being loud. To address that: it /is/ an older boutique hotel - built in the late 1930s - so there are some quirks to the place. The HVAC units might not have been original to the building? They are in their own closets so instead of just hearing the air like you might in a newer hotel, you hear more of the process, as you would in your own home. The main thing that people might not like is the noise change from hearing it on to when it shuts off. I changed it to where the fan was set to on the whole time so it was just running and we didn't even notice it. I do not think either of these things are dealbreakers whatsoever. TIP: Try to get a room on an upper floor so you can wake up to a great view of that skyline! I definitely recommend staying here!!

Chris G.

Yelp
I've reviewed this hotel once and I'll do it again. Again, nice older place in the historic heart of Mobile. Attentive front desk and a nice little bar/bistro tucked into the corner. This is more a quibble from a loyal customer: The lack of lighting in the rooms. As in you can either have the brightness of a surgical theater or the kind of mood lighting that is found at the beginning of Russian novels where Grandpa has just hung himself in the barn. So...could you spring for another lamp or two, Admiral? It would really be appreciated.

Yelp
Incompetent valet service (your only option to park). Room has a car Febreeze stuck in the vent. Classy. 2 elevators. There's 2 luggage carts (as best I can tell). For the price, worst hotel I've stayed in.

Yelp
This place is horribly mismanaged. No staff member communicates with one another. Made me switch rooms twice because of the manager (Lexi) errors. The 7th floor (amongst others) permanently reeks of pot smoke tho it masks the prevalent mildew smell. Recently upgraded to look modern but was done as cheaply as possible. Watch out for the $4 cups of coffee. If this hotel is your only option sleep in your car.

Yelp
Nice hotel. My only complaints were a mirror outside of the bathroom would be nice and the faucet was not placed close enough into sink so water gets all over counter and floor from sink. Also hubby went downstairs to get a cappuccino and the bartender working said they did not know how to make them and than the server turned to my husband and said we want liquor drinkers not coffee drinkers in here. Very un professional. Front Desk Staff was pleasant and always professional. Gentlemen working the front door taught us that Mobile was the original Mardi Gras I found his pleasant and informative. Parked in parking garage while on cruise.

Yelp
Where do I begin? Let's start with this hotel charging $25 a night to park you vehicle on a public street. I've been staying here on business off / on for 4 weeks. At the moment I've been over billed almost $700 by charging my CC for a room that was already paid for in a app. I've been calling and stopping at the front desk for 2 weeks now and they have not rectified the issue. I've called the manager multiple times and only have spoken once regarding this issue and yet nothing has been done. At least once a stay mostly twice the room is never cleaned or anything. Total disregard for a good paying customer so after this stay I'm done with this place. I'll make sure to let everyone know what trash the managers are since they can't even call me back. Also your CC will be billed a random amount for incidentals ranging from 50 to $100 per stay depending on who checks you in. Only positive thing about this place is the bartenders r good ppl.

Yelp
Gotta give this Historic Hotel a five. We got a good deal on hotels.ie and was a really good place to base ourselves for the few hours we spent in Mobile. I adored the lobby. So many Instagrammable spots ;) Bed was comfy and a really good shower. Recommend valet parking giving the fact it's on a main st.

Yelp
My wife and I recently stayed at The Admiral. We stay at The Read House in Chattanooga, TN on a frequent basis. My wife received an email from The Read House touting their new alliance with The Admiral so we decided to try it out. First of all, it it a nightmare getting to the front of the hotel during rush hour. A lot of the streets are one way streets. The signage isn't that good so you if you don't know exactlywhere you are going, you will have to go around the block to get back to where you want to be. The hotel is very old but seems to be kept up. Our room was large and nice. However, our key cards would not work at the end of the day when we would come back to our room after a day of adventure. The hotel bar had three Blue Moon beers, which my wife bought, and they never replenished during our stay. Their website states they have beehives on the roof and goes on to state the hotel will sell the honey produced by the bees. My wife asked at the front desk about the honey, and no one knew what she was talking about. They directed us to the bar/restaurant area. The guy at the bar said he was the only person working so he couldn't go to the back to look, but he said he was pretty sure they didn't have any honey as they use it in their recipes. He didn't know the website said the hotel sold its honey. There was a big hole by the closet in our room where someone had an accident with the closet door either not shutting or not opening. My wife had to work on the Friday and Monday we were there, and the hotel's internet service wasn't just horrible, it was horrific! When we would first get up, we would have to let the hot water run for several minutes before it got hot...but when it got hot, it was definitely HOT. Would we stay there again? Well I don't think so. The hotel is nice, but unless we were assured there would be better internet service, we would stay somewhere else.

Yelp
We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite here on the way to Florida and 2 separate rooms on the way home. I was curious why a prestigiously looking property could possibly have such low rate, but it became apparent very quickly. I told them we would arrive around 6 pm and we promptly did. Our rooms were not cleaned and ready for us to check in until 7:30 PM, at which time we had to sit in the lobby. Not only we're our rooms not adjoining, but the front desk said I should be happy they were on same floor. I booked these rooms one month prior to stay. After finally checking into our room 915 and 901. Our room 915 smelled horribly of cigarette smoke, I called the front desk and she agreed and moved us to 501. Tried to shower and the spout shot off and hit my husband in the leg. Here's our "safety" lock..... I will never stay here again.. Hilton should be embarrassed to have their name on this property.

Yelp
Rooms were nice and clean however we had to change rooms at 1130 at night as the AC went out in our room. The young lady at the desk was very accommodating with getting us in a new room quickly. With all the renovations there were several things I would have added to the rooms. There is much wasted space and open areas that could have had a sitting area such as a small couch or even two chairs with a table. The bathrooms need hangers for the towels and not just the towels rack. The light fixture had cobwebs hanging from it. TV screen was so dark it was hard to watch any shows.

Yelp
The Admiral in Mobile was a very nice hotel. From the outside it looks a bit dingy but the lobby is beautiful. The staff were great and helpful and the rooms were pretty nice as well, although on the small side. Once you take a closer look at the rooms you notice some little things that could be fixed or painted to have a better appearance. There was a lot of rust in the bathroom and walls could have used a coat of paint. Otherwise the rooms were beautiful as was the lobby of this historic hotel and I would definitely return

Yelp
From its appearance, its what you'd want in a hotel experience but beware - the people whom we encountered were rude! When we walked in, we were not greeted or even given eye contact when we were finally acknowledged. The room we booked included a sparkling wine... which we had to ask for TWICE and the second time we were told to go to the bar area to get it ourselves. As we were waiting we overheard another family having to switch rooms because they were given a room key to which people were already in!! This hotel COULD be awesome but the staff and its practices are HORRENDOUS.

Yelp
This property is poorly managed and has been through several management transitions in the past year. Neglecting serious health hazards for the sake of making money. Money is very rarely put back into the property and when it is, it is spent of ridiculous things to give the illusion of the property being "high scale". (I.e. polishing brass doors and marble, rather than fixing more pressing issues. Only to let the brass and marble dull again) Linen is severely stained with the constant false promises of "we will buy new ones". Consistent micromanaging has employees constantly being pulled several different directions. Things such as cleaning carpets or truly getting guest rooms to the standard, management so happily and wholeheartedly fakes, becomes impossible. Blame is, then, directed at employees for not doing their job. With a leaking roof on both the 3rd floor and the 12th. Sheet rock continues to stay wet, wallpaper falls off due to moisture and is just re-glued and the smell of mold fills the hotel. Seriously, look at your options before choosing The Admiral Hotel.

Yelp
While I wish I could understand the hype of some of the reviews of the Admiral, I'm actually writing this at 6AM after a, quite frankly, mediocre, sleepless stay. From the top: expect to pay an extra $20 to park across the street, adding to an already inflated price tag to stay at this hotel. Not to mention the walk across busy traffic just to get to the front door. The desk attendant was friendly and courteous and the lobby area had a modern updated look. The room: same modern look in the room, itself. Bathroom was on the smaller side, but I understand it's a renovated, older hotel. Where it fell short was a faulty A/C (set to 68, but actual temp as of now is 83), little/no noise insulation from any noise 4 stories below (to include a casual conversation), and a smell that I can only compare to a damp basement. Needless to say, I missed out on the restful evening I had hoped the Admiral hotel could have offered. In conclusion, while it appears that the hotel is definitely attempting to create an attractive place to stay, it's execution in doing so is...lacking. Until the Admiral can fix the most basic of its hospitality fundamentals, you may as well ignore the aesthetics it has to offer, which is something that the Wyndham brand should be ashamed of. For that reason, I will be choosing a different hotel for my next stay in Mobile, AL.

Yelp
Extremely disappointed that they would not refund our money for a cancelled vacation due to covid-19 in late March. If nothing else, they could have offered to transfer our funds to a later date. When we do travel to Mobile in the fall, we won't be staying at The Admiral.

Yelp
Nice hotel in the middle of downtown Mobile. Room was clean and smelled pleasant. I actually had an early meeting my last day there, and came back to gather my things and hit the road. I may have closed eyes for a moment, and slept past checkout. The staff was very gracious about my oversight, and didn't even threaten to charge extra. My only criticism is that the doors have a stiff locking mechanism on them, and the closets have to be aggressive to push them closed. As a result, doors start slamming early and keep slamming until late. If you are a light sleeper, consider bringing earplugs. Otherwise, I had a great stay!

Yelp
It looks nice but, the parking is $10 a day away from the building. You will get rained on. The breakfast sausage was the worst thing I ever had! The air conditioning is the loudest thing ever and the pillows are Poo!!! Made up of socks and shirts or something!

Yelp
Very nice hotel, very comfortable and quiet. Understated is the word that springs to mind. Convenient to the nearby main drag with plenty of bars and restaurants. Paid parking at a reasonable rate is available in the adjacent multi-storey car park. Very friendly staff at reception who made every effort to ensure our brief stay was to our satisfaction. Indeed, our experience was greatly enlivened by the presence of the Alabama state college football team who were there the same night for a game the following day. When several of these polite giants addresses you as 'sir' and my other half as 'ma'am', it was hard to think they'd be trying to decapitate a fellow human 24 hours later. Great Hotel. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Let me start by saying I first stayed in this hotel when it was a Hilton property. Much cleaner! This stay, the hall carpets were stained. The room smelled moldy. The bed pillows were more the the size of accent pillows for a sofa. The pool looked nothing like the "stock" photos - no cushions or umbrellas , weeds in flower beds, debris in pool. All this said, the valet staff was courteous, attentive, and prompt! They were great!
