My partner and I had an incredible stay at Admiral's. We were on the other side of the marina in the Gunpowder Suites (as opposed to the main Inn in Nelson's Dockyard). It is exceptionally cool to have stayed right within a UNESCO World Heritage Site and I'd recommend it, for that alone! ||The service and the team are phenomenal. Everyone is super welcoming and easy to talk to. We even saw one of the folks from Boom Restaurant at a local eatery and it was like bumping into a friend. The owner, Paul, was extremely kind and informative and we really enjoyed chatting with him (and meeting his adorable dog, Ting!) ||They have a small boat to take guests between the Admiral's and Gunpowder sides all day long so you don't have to walk all the way around, which was convenient. You can also take a 5 minute ride on this boat to Galleon Beach; they'll take you and pick you up whenever you request. (We hung out at LOCA at Galleon one day, and it was a blast.) The pool at Gunpowder is gorgeous and was an awesome way to unwind at the end of the day. ||Both of the restaurants on the property are fantastic. We had lunch at Boom on the Gunpowder side on our arrival day; the food was fresh and delicious, and service was friendly and wonderful. We also had a really romantic dinner at Pillar's on the Admiral's side. The food was excellent, and again the team working there was fabulous. Melinda was such a total delight to chat with, and the whole team provided an excellent experience 'from soup to nuts.' ||There's some great hiking on the Dockyard side, which you must check out if you're there and seeking some nature and history (you'll see Fort Berkley, One-Gun Battery, Fort Culyer, Guard House from the 1700s and 1800s along the way, in addition to some incredible scenery - and some goats!) Also at the end of the Middle Ground Trail, it dumps you out at Pigeon Beach - we jumped in fully clothed. It's too nice of a beach not to (plus after a hike we were hot!) You can easily walk back to the hotel afterwards (on flat ground). The Dockyard side has another small eatery and a bar (not affiliated with the hotel) and a small but informational museum about the history of Nelson's Dockyard which is worth a visit! ||The Inn/Suites are easy walking distance from a host of restaurants and bars, and Antigua Yacht Club, which is another marina area with additional food and bars. It's also walking distance to a grocery store which came in handy. We traveled just on the tail-end of the off-season, which was intentional - it is quiet. Some of the restaurants had just opened for the peak season the week we arrived. The marinas were quiet. We liked it that way! But keep that in mind when planning your visit. We stayed there from 10/30- 11/1. Had we booked the same trip one month later, it would be quite crowded and lively. Which is also a great time, just a different experience. All about what you're looking for! ||Will 100% be going back to this absolutely unique and magical property!
