This has to be one of the best located hotels in the world. English Harbour is jaw-droppingly gorgeous, and the hotel is in the heart of it. We stayed in the Gunpowder Suites across the other side of the inlet, and easily accessible by a 30 second water taxi ride, or an 8 minute walk (at night, the hotel will send a car to shuttle you from one side to the other. The trip by car is 3 minutes or so). The area felt extremely safe to us, and we never had any concerns about walking around, either at night or during the day. ||Our rooms were gorgeous. Not super-luxurious, but very pleasant, clean, and well appointed. There is a good-sized fridge for your use, and a small supermarket is 5 mins walk away so you can stock up on water, drinks and snacks. There’s no TV or phone. Hooray! (WiFi is free and works well).||Breakfast at the hotel is great at the Pillars restaurant, and the Boom restaurant on the Gunpowder side does great tasty poolside lunches.||English Harbour has a lot of bars and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, and we ate some of the best food we’ve had in the Caribbean.||The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the whole hotel has a cosy welcoming feel, lacking the sort of fake enthusiasm you often get from corporate chain hotels.||Our week here was one of the best we’ve ever had, and we will doubtless be returning.

We loved Admirals Inn and it's location in English Harbour. It is a beautiful building steeped in history. We stayed in the Gunpowder Suites across from the main hotel which is reached by a small ferry boat or you can walk around in less than 10 mins or by car in 3 mins. There is a well stocked supermarket nearby if needed (Covent Garden). Nelson's Dockyard is a beautiful, historic location and you can read about the buildings as you stroll around. Our room was lovely, cool and clean. Very spacious and the balcony/terrace was lovely to relax on. We overlooked the pool and Boom (the restaurant there). The food at Boom was really, really good. We highly recommend it. Shareen who works at Boom was absolutely wonderful. She was so friendly and always made sure that a cold beer or cocktail was on hand! We loved Shareen - she could not have been more helpful and is a real asset to the hotel. We would recommend hiring a car as in low season, it is quieter so it was nice to get out and see the sights of the island and visit the gorgeous beaches. I would strongly suggest hiring a Sportage or something similar as the road infrastructure is pretty poor and you have to dodge some large potholes! Our only slight negative is that they opened the pool up to non-residents during low season from 12pm. The conditions of use were lunch being booked at Boom or a day pass purchased. I understand why they would do it due to it being quieter but it did slightly irk us when we had paid a reasonable amount of money to stay at the hotel and come the afternoon, the pool could get busy with non-residents and children who weren't always the best behaved and sometimes a little noisy. Therefore we swam early (which at that time was like having our own private pool :)) and avoided the pool from 12pm until 5pm when it quietened down again. The restaurants in the area were lovely. Again as low season, they are not all open but the ones that were, were really nice. Los Cabrones, the mexican restaurant was fab and a firm favourite for us as was Indian Summer which has a beautiful terrace looking out over the water. Overall we had a fabulous week there but marked down slightly due to the hotel pool effectively becoming a public pool.

This was our 3rd visit to Antigua and the 1st staying at the Admiral’s Inn. What a special hotel it was. We stayed in one of the Gunpowder Suites which was perfect, enjoying a drink on the terrace & watching the pelicans diving for fish. The pool was close by as was the lunch at the Boom bar. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance from this side of the hotel & the ferry across to the main hotel (1.1/2 mins!) for breakfast & dinner. From the main hotel walk around the fascinating Nelson’s Dockyard or take the local bus from here to St John’s, the capital. All the staff were so helpful and friendly, it was a pleasure to stay here. A hotel which we would highly recommend.

A stunning setting with a special menu. A mixture of traditional Caribbean food with a touch of western and asian thrown in the mix. Take a look at the menu. They have a neat little partner bar across the water where during the day you can take a boat over and use the pool at the gunpowder suites, where the bar opens at 12 and serves a different menu. Both bars have a great choice of cocktails and even the house wine is a decent tiple.

Wow what a little gem. This lovely small hotel is set within the beautiful historic dockyard - none other than Nelson’s Dockyard! The hotel and grounds are well manicured and unique. Staff are very friendly and helpful-special shout out to Rodney the bar man and the boatman who will ferry you to either the Boom (with its infinity pool and bar or galleon beach with its chilled vibes and sea life). The food was delicious and fresh but you are only a short walk into Falmouth if you want to mix it up. GO you won’t regret it!

We stayed in one of the Gunpowder suites (number 7) for 5 nights and absolutely loved our stay. One of the best stays we have ever had. The suite was great. Very clean and spacious with an amazing view. We loved the main hotel for cocktails and ate at Pillars. The overall atmosphere is wonderful and feels very 'boutique'.||The fact that you can walk around the historical harbour area without the crowds is a bonus too.||All staff were very friendly (initially we thought the atmosphere from the Boom Bar staff was a little 'tense' but it softened once they got to know us and we got to know them)||We stayed by the Boom Bar pool a couple of days of our visit. Plenty of room - it can fill up a little from about 11am with day visitors (and this can make it a little random in terms of who you spend your day with - there were some big drinkers - but nothing to spoil our day at all).||There are lots of lovely local restaurants within walking distance so the location is perfect for those that like a little variety - in our experience this can be rare across the Caribbean islands. Our fave was The Lemongrass Thai.||All in all, we would highly recommend a stay here for all considering it - UNLESS you want things rowdy, noisy and love a large resort with all that entails. If that's your bag please go elsewhere... don't spoil the serenity here!

Our 2 night stay was perfect. We stayed in a stand-alone room near the boom restaurant, and couldn't be more pleased. They also have a boat that will take you across the harbour whenever you wish, you just have to ring a bell :) After we returned to the United States we realized we left a substantial amount of cash in the safe on our room. They checked the safe as soon as we called, and it was still there! They immediately wired the money to us ❤️ we recommend this hotel in all ways, from the peace and comfort provided, to the pride and love the admiral clearly shows their very special buildings and grounds. We are grateful for your honesty and gracious hospitality :)) Many heartfelt thanks We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Lots of charm in this boutique hotel set amidst historical structures and the sea. As you walk through the well preserved buildings, you appreciate the extent of the far flung British empire. The room was small but charmingly creaky. The food in the restaurant was only OK but don’t think most people come here for the food:)
