Review: The Adnate, Perth - SilverKris

"A 25-storey exterior triple portrait by Australian street artist Matt Adnate—the largest work he’s ever done—is floodlit at night and celebrates the region’s multiculturalism, with the crowning face depicting Nathan McGuire, a model and business-owner of Whadjuk Noongar heritage; McGuire also appears on a 3x3m canvas in the lobby that leads to a stairwell featuring a giant mural of the artist’s right hand, while the artist’s wife is painted on adjacent laneway walls. The project reflects Adnate’s practice of building deep connections with Indigenous and multicultural communities before photographing and painting his subjects, and the hotel supports that storytelling with a dedicated hardcover book and other art-focused reads in rooms. Interiors are deliberately pared-back—soft grey bedrooms resembling concrete streetscapes—to showcase two large giclée prints per room (part of some 650 prints across the property), and even the artist’s tag is hand-scribbled across every glass shower door; expansive east- and west-facing windows frame views toward Perth’s Swan River. Social life centers on a luminous, white-and-pastel indoor-outdoor pool, bar and restaurant developed with the Hyde brand, offering playful touches like five types of bottomless fries and Saturday pool parties, plus creative prints and a Parisian-style mural in the private dining room. Conveniently sited for nightlife and culture, the property is a short walk from bars such as Little Stables and Tiny’s, near His Majesty’s Theatre, and offers hotel bikes for quick access to Perth Arena, Yagan Square, Northbridge and the Elizabeth Quay waterfront." - Fleur Bainger

Well located on hay street, short walk to cafes, mall, train station and bus services. Upon arrival our room wasn't quite ready but a complimentary drink by the pool was well received while we waited. Staff were kind and helpful and rooms were very clean and well maintained. Great view from the 17th floor. The kids and parents enjoyed the pool/bar area after and long hot day exploring. Would stay here again

The room was sufficient and very clean. No magnifying mirror, no champagne flutes, but nice large mugs, lovely shower, very comfortable bed. No frills I guess I'd say. Terrestrial tv only which is unusual and annoying. The dining room and pool area were booked for a private function so were out of bounds which I found odd and very inconvenient. Staff were lovely. Make sure you book through the actual hotel as we got a lovely room for about $230 but paid way too much when a third party booked our second night using a booking site. The other thing I will say was a negative - before we arrived, out of about 5 calls to reservations/reception to confirm things, all calls were 'put through' by Accor and I never got to speak to the hotel, just hung up on. Very frustrating indeed.

The Adnate exceeded my expectations, I loved it and the kids had a great time. We stayed in an interconnected room 906 and 907 which was really nice, clean, and well equipped and there was a welcome bottle of wine and cheese plate when I arrived, thanks to being an ALL member. The bar is gorgeous, staff are genuinely friendly, cocktails are amazing and the poolside menu is delicious. The location of the hotel is perfect for shopping, tourists and staycationers. Really happy with our stay.

I stayed at the Adnate for three nights on business. Pros: Amazing pool area with tropical vibes and a restaurant that you can order from. You can get food and drink by the pool like you're on a beach. Stunning art all over the hotel. In the foyer. Room. Halls. Stairwell. Even on the bed. If you love art, you'll love this hotel. Cocktails. Baha serves incredible drinks. Room - the room was clean, comfortable, spacious and stylish. I loved the bathroom and the products. Service - all team members were friendly and warm, making my stay pleasant. Location - perfect location in the heart of bustling Perth CBD. CONS I was charged $9 for my standard coffee. A large flat white with an extra shot. This was the most I have ever paid for this coffee in my entire life. I was also served my "large" in a cup that barely resembled a medium. What's more is that this pricing strategy is so bonkers - I'm literally a paying hotel guest charging items back to my room. I'm already spending 💰 a tonne of cash with the hotel. If anything, guests should enjoy discounted coffee as a perk ☕ I was really offended by this and it has cost them a star. Secondly - while I was staying at the hotel two elevator buttons fell off. I've never seen this happen, at any hotel, in my life and it happened here twice in 3 days. It gave a sloppy and cheap feel to an otherwise great stay. Half a star lost. Gym - I'm a big gym addict. I picked the Adnate because it promised a great gym. It wasn't. It was very small and always packed. I barley had room to train and it felt claustrophobic. It needs to be doubled in size. Lost half a star.

Highly recommended! 4 stars hotel but 5 stars quality!! Sightseeing in Perth, and Stayed 3 nights over New Year celebration. We are very satisfied with The Adnate Service and feeling privileged to be Accor Plus members! Cozy rooms, powerful air conditioners, great high floor views, very comfy high quality bedding, friendly, nice brekki, and welcoming guest services, close to everywhere in CBD etc… In particular, we would like to compliment one of the receptionists (we remember it’s Matt?), thanks to his wonderful customer service, it really made our stay and our holidays much more brilliant! We’d love to recommend to our friends to choose the Adnate, and we’d also love to stay again if visiting Perth again! Thank you all the Adnate team :)

The overall experience was nice. The front desk team were lovely and welcoming. The beds were comfy and the pillows were perfect! The check in and out was seamless, and conveniently located. It felt something was missing however, was it the cleanliness of the rooms or the murky water in the pool, was it the $5 charge for water although filtered, was this necessary to charge onward to the guest. Was it the outside guests in the hotel or the slow lifts. I personally wouldn't recommend staying in the city, as the homelessness and drug problem was bigger than I remembered, quite unsettling g.

I stay at the Adnate Art Series regularly for work and it has been consistently a great place to stay. The rooms are always presented well and it is a handy location in the city. The restaurant and room service are high quality and you can’t ask for more than that from a hotel.

This was my first stay at this beautiful hotel. Unfortunately, there was a short circuit while I was using the hair dryer. My friend contacted the reception, and Mr. Kartic arrived at our room in less than five minutes. He was very caring and immediately checked to make sure we were both alright. After assessing the situation, they reassured us that everything was fine and kindly offered us complimentary breakfast as compensation. We truly and sincerely appreciate his thoughtful gesture. Mr. Rajash also assured us that maintenance would return between 8–10 a.m. while we were having breakfast. Specially thanks to Mr Kartic and Mr Rajesh for their service.
