Excellent food even though it's in the middle of nowhere. I got the half order of biscuits with sausage gravy and 1 over medium egg. It was still a full meal so I'm glad I went with the smaller portion. It was fluffy and savory, the egg cooked perfectly. It was only $7.96. That's a bargain. The woman working was also very friendly and attentive. The store also had a lot of local goods for sale, from honey to desserts.

Wow, astoundingly great food - especially when you come in after a few days camping in the hinterlands. Everything looked so good, huge portions, and tasted great! Not only the food, but espresso drinks, homemade canned goods, t-shirts, bags, and other gift items at very reasonable prices. This is a must stop, when in the area!

As much as the people here were friendly, the food was a rip-off. I ordered the french toast. The menu says it is “4 thick slices”. It was two very thin slices of bread, each cut in two for $10, so closer to $12 with tax and tip. I ordered this for my partner and I. But as the portion was coming over I felt my heart sink. It looked far too small, absolutely even if I had ordered it all for myself. This didn't seem right. So I unwillingly brought this up to the waitress. She was nice, and she told me she'd speak with the owner. Never heard back. So I paid and we got ready to leave. On the way out my partner wanted to tell them that we'd been there many other times and had good experiences, but that this was a big let down. We were quite excited that morning for some good food. Only then did they offer to do something about it, but, my partner felt like this was offered somewhat begrudgingly. And, you know, the time for making the customer whole is when they aren't on their way out the door and have somewhere else to go. That is, when they really can't accept the offer. In any case, I love French toast and I've had it all over the US and even in Peru. Big slices, right folks? Well this was by far the smallest portion I’ve ever seen of french toast. Think two slices that are a bit bigger than Wonderbread. Summary? If you feel like paying $10 for two slices of bread dipped in a bit of egg, come on over, I guess? Note: review updated with additional information.

We were staying in Reserve NM for a few days of rockhounding with our rock club from AZ. We took the pleasant drive from our lodging to enjoy a great breakfast here before a day of agate hunting. The baked goods looked fantastic. The staff were super cordial and welcoming. As in many tiny towns, this seems to be the local meeting place, and as each person came in, we were greeted with a friendly hello. The food selections were surprisingly sophisticated for such a small, rural location. I thoroughly enjoyed a Garden Frittata loaded with veggies and served with a side of veggies and homemade wheat toast that was fantastic. My husband opted for an Elk Burger breakfast with eggs over easy that he said were perfect, and it was topped of with a magnificent biscuit with butter and honey. We highly recommend this place if you're ever in this neck of the woods. I'm seriously regretting not getting a cookie or cinnamon roll or two. Definitely next time!

Yesterday, my partner and I decided to dine at what USED to be one of our favorite spots in NM. He made an earlier review with all the details of our very disappointing experience. This resulted in a condescending encounter with the owner, who then made a strangely defensive and petty reply to a valid customer complaint. No business owner should make fun of a customer or make assumptions about their character. Its just in poor taste and usually wrong. The French toast may have tasted good, but whether it's $10 or $15, sharing or eating your own, you should always receive a full portion of food on your plate. I hope that others have a better experience than we did.

Google
A place worth to make a detour! Great coffee. All baked goodies were baked from the scratch right there and the baker knows his trade! The apple pie was to die for! Very friendly atmosphere. It was a welcome break in my travels. Thank you, Jennifer - you are just that awesome .

Google
Cute little mom and pop looking restaurant . The food was so yummy . There was 17 in our party and the service was great . They were running around getting our food out to us as quickly as possible . One of the best shakes we've ever had ( caramel) burgers fantastic and cooked all the way through like I like it . Fresh pumpkin cream cheese bread to die for . Highly recommend stopping there when traveling .

I had the green chile grilled cheese based on the staff's recommendation, and it did not disappoint. The crew working that night were all super friendly. I got a giant cookie (German chocolate cake) to go and it was one of the best cookies I've had in a long time. Well done!

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in Reserve NM, their portions are very big and for the price it's great! They also have cute merchandise and the tea station is very cute. The workers were super friendly and attentive as well! 10/10

Yelp
It's an alpine oasis. Fresh pastries, handmade pizza, delicious meals. Also frozen meals made by the chef. Woven rugs and homemade canned goods for sale. Friendly service and the locals come here, too. What's not to like?

Yelp
Delicious latte and sinfully delicious gluten-free chocolate chip cookie plus most generous service!

Yelp
This was the best Burrito I have ever eaten! Service was excellent! Took a couple of chocolate chip cookies to go!

Yelp
We had Whiskey Roast Plate, Greek Salad and Corned Beef Stew. All were outstanding!!! All had complex and unique flavors; clearly made by very experienced cooks. Very high quality food. The different meats are roasted on premises. The prices were amazingly low. The servings were huge. We loved our whole experience.

Yelp
Totally exceeded my expectations. Definitely a great spot to stop, no matter if you are craving a lite bite, filling meal, fun drink of some sort. I had the Mediterranean salad and was blown away. Top 10 salads I've ever had, anywhere! Very surprised since it was such a remote place to venture to. Little marketplace goods were fun to browse and buy, and service was incredible.

Yelp
I am SO HAPPY WE STOPPED HERE! Let's start with that I'm a vegan so it's not always easy for me to find something to eat. Especially when we're out here in rural areas :). The two wonderful ladies working the counter and the kitchen were SO accommodating and sweet. The chef offered to make the green chile vegan specifically for me! Not to mention she was bringing out fresh homemade cinnamon rolls/breads/biscottis at the same time. I didn't have the roll but my counterpart said it was amazing (he was licking the icing off the paper). They have a veggie sausage option/several vegetarian options in general but we were 99% sure the v sausage was also vegan. They had several homemade items for sale as well such as candles, granola, dried fruits, etc. Def stop here if possible, the people are amazing

Yelp
OMG. Been on the Harley for a couple of hours. READY for a latte and I ordered Chorizo, onions, eggs, cheese. Choice of potato, fruit or German potato pancakes. Place is cool as hell. Kitchen hollers out "Order Up"!! Staff super friendly. Baked goods look delicious!! Other sundries sold!! Nice clean bathrooms!!

Yelp
Bam! High quality is the name of the game here. Brilliant tea assortment. Super nummy green chili truffles, cookies were wicked good, the coffee drinkers seemed to love the bottomless drip. The Philly salad was good as was the elk burger. Sweet potato fries were better than the coleslaw. The hilight of the day was the breakfast program. French toast was phenomenal. The green chili pulled pork benedict over house baked biscuit with poached eggs was one of the best breakfast programs in a while. I'm eager to return, especially for breakfast!

Yelp
We have driven past here many times and today we stopped. I am so glad! Great breakfast, great service. This will be a regular stop for me now whenever I'm traveling through New Mexico. Outside Reserve, on the highway. Baked goods are yummy too!!!

Yelp
Wow! What a gem in lonely western NM. Must stop for a snack, a meal, dessert or coffee. Homemade everything. Carmel bacon chocolate popcorn. Yes please! New weekend road trip destination. Good people too!

Melissa L.

Yelp
Charming place, but.... I ordered the chorizo and egg skillet. It was good. Hubby ordered the meat lovers and a side of green chile gravy. The gravy had DILL in it!! New Mexico prides itself on the Hatch, New Mexico Chile that apparently this cafe doesn't recognize. We suspect the safe "gravy" used for the special of the day, Eggs Benedict, was used for his side. It's an order and pay at the counter place and they bring you the order. We bought a few souvenirs too. Nice and clean spot. But when the bill was totaled, the suggested tip included the merchandise. Lol. Fortunately that can be changed when you submit your tip. Just buyer be aware. We won't stop by again.

Yelp
The Adobe was Amazing, we drove by and decided we could be hungry any longer and we would give it a try, We walk in to this country style Cafe and order at the counter. I order the Hatch Breakfast Burrito (Chili season) and this large enchilada style package of love is delivered to me. this was THE Most amazing Burrito/ meal/ Breakfast i have ever had. I'am not affiliated with this business but now i am a raving fan I will make it a point when i am within 100 miles to stop here and have an amazing meal. the coffee was strong and fresh. the restaurant was clean the employees are welcoming. the baked goods looks great. do yourself a favor and give this place a try you too will become a fan!!

Yelp
What a sweet little gem. Great muffins and other pastry; they even made a decaf skim latte (I know, "why bother?"). Wood burning fireplace to keep the room warm. Very nice.

Yelp
Easter Sunday my husband and I were traveling back home in Santa Fe, NM from Green Valley Arizona. We were passing by and Adobe Cafe, somewhat in the middle of nowhere, if you know what I mean, looked quite inviting. We decided to stop and the ambiance , quite eclectic, I have to say, made us feel welcomed. We decided to split Reuben Sandwich and Pete ordered a double expresso. Coffe came promptly and delicious. While waiting for our Reuben, we had a chance to look around and had a great time doing so. We spotted some nice teapots, coffee cups and other nicely displayed items. Adobe Cafe is also a retailer of vitamins and herbs. Little eclectic, but super charming. While waiting, we could hear happy emploees voices. You know, those ones like their jobs and like being there. Our Reuben arrived, split ,on two plates with generous portions of coleslaw. What can I say? That was the best Reuben we ever had with the tastiest coleslaw. What a great discovery!

Yelp
They hosted an event for us and were so amazing in every way! Jennifer was super friendly and helpful, the space was nice, and the food was gourmet and just what we needed! Thanks so much for all you did for us!

Yelp
What a great place! The food is delicious. We had the Brisket and the Chicken Bacon Pita. Both were so yummy! I was also able to pick up some soy candles and essential oils. Next time we'll pick up some treats from the bakery. We will definitely stop in again. :)

Yelp
This is by far one of the greatest places in New Mexico! The food is unbelievably good and the staff is without a doubt the best and most polite of any restaurant I have visited recently. Their fresh baked pastries are fantastic. I highly recommend a cost to the Adobe Cafe & Bakery!

Yelp
A delightful oasis on the edge of the Gila, the food is delicious and the people are warm and welcoming. We stopped in for dinner after a weekend of camping (the only even remotely appetizing resturaunt open on a Sunday evening between Silver City and Luna) and had a fantastic meal, got some great advice on a campground in the area and came back the next morning. Welcomed by smiling faces and a cozy wood burning stove, the breakfast was just as good as dinner, maybe even better! With a diverse selection of treats, snacks and pastries, this is an ideal stop any time you are passing by, we will be back! At dinner, the potato salad and coleslaw in particular stood out in their unique and delightful flavors. For breakfast the green chili gravy and biscuits as well as the German potato pancakes are not to be missed!

Yelp
Driving north from Glenwood NM, we saw a sign letting us know that the Adobe Cafe was ahead - a pleasant surprise as we were hungry and way out in the countryside. And it was excellent! We were able to rip ourselves away from the bakery case by the front door esp intrigued by the apricot strudel. After a warm welcome by the owner, we decided to split the grilled portobello sandwich with coleslaw plus a small salad. Fresh, tasty and satisfying! When I asked for water, I was offered their infusion of cucumber, lemon and mint as a free alternative. Delicious and refreshing on a hot day. We will definitely return!
