As much as the people here were friendly, the food was a rip-off. I ordered the french toast. The menu says it is “4 thick slices”. It was two very thin slices of bread, each cut in two for $10, so closer to $12 with tax and tip.
I ordered this for my partner and I. But as the portion was coming over I felt my heart sink. It looked far too small, absolutely even if I had ordered it all for myself. This didn't seem right.
So I unwillingly brought this up to the waitress. She was nice, and she told me she'd speak with the owner.
Never heard back. So I paid and we got ready to leave.
On the way out my partner wanted to tell them that we'd been there many other times and had good experiences, but that this was a big let down. We were quite excited that morning for some good food.
Only then did they offer to do something about it, but, my partner felt like this was offered somewhat begrudgingly. And, you know, the time for making the customer whole is when they aren't on their way out the door and have somewhere else to go. That is, when they really can't accept the offer.
In any case, I love French toast and I've had it all over the US and even in Peru. Big slices, right folks? Well this was by far the smallest portion I’ve ever seen of french toast. Think two slices that are a bit bigger than Wonderbread.
Summary? If you feel like paying $10 for two slices of bread dipped in a bit of egg, come on over, I guess?
