Great stay in the heart of downtown Nelson! The location is unbeatable — everything from restaurants and cafes to shops is just a short walk away. The hotel is simple, clean, and affordable, which makes it a great choice for anyone visiting the area. The staff were friendly, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming. If you're looking for a convenient, no-fuss place to stay in Nelson, this is a solid option. Would definitely stay again!

4.5 stars! This was a cute little hotel in the heart of downtown. Close to all the shopping and restaurants, so you don't need your vehicle. There's free parking on site, but it's limited, so try to get a spot early. There's also a restaurant/pub, a steakhouse and a coffee shop on the ground level of the building. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the room was really clean. The only downside was no elevator and it was a little bit noisy between the rooms, but that's to be expected in most of the older buildings in Nelson. But to be honest, we weren't really bothered by these things at all. It was quiet enough that we didn't hear a peep from the packed restaurants from our room and what's a few stairs... Overall, it's very good for what it is and it was very affordable. Great value for your dollar.

Trendy, funky vibe - corrugated metal, bright (mostly orange & red & yellow) & my room had an original brick wall, nice little 2nd floor roof patio & dry sauna, good common kitchen (but only 4 upholstered chairs for the lounge area & they were occupied when I went to relax there). Cool 1913 safe in the lobby, still in use! Shared shower could use an extractor fan.

The desk, & lounge staff were very helpful & friendly. Would have been nice to have a small refrigerator in the room, as there was room for one. There is a fridge down the hall but do not feel comfortable leaving my meds in there. The bed wasn’t that comfortable but the room was cute & cozy. Room #111 was above the bar so music was a little loud if u had the window open during the night. The location was amazing! Would I stay here again, maybe.

Stayed here this week. Awesome location. Awesome staff. It is an old heritage style building but the rooms are completely modern. The floor creeks with every step adding to the character. The hotel staff supported the conference venue with total professionalism. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here.

Reviews of this place seem to be its either well liked or not at all. Complaints such as noise, room size and lack of an elevator seem to be the most common negative comments and, I think, are based on people not doing their research when they book. The hotel makes it very clear in their advertising and booking experience these limitations so coming here and complaining about them is disingenious. The hotel is situated at a fairly busy intersection, which makes for a fair amount of street noise, but it also means that this location is within 6 blocks of every amenity a traveler would need plus a variety of eclectic shops. The building is old, but extensively overhauled and renovated so, NO ELEVATOR, but will offer unique things such as a common gathering area, rooftop patio with IR sauna. Room sizes will depend on your budget and needs, but count on spend more = bigger room and they are all appointed appropriately and laid out efficiently. The onsite bar can get noisy on weekends and special events, but serves solid good food and drink. Every staff member that I’ve interacted with was polite, friendly, professional and helpful. All in all, this is the kind of place you should be staying at if you’re looking for a more lively, yet laid back social experience that is accommodating to the budget friendly over the blandly generic and conventional corporate hotel experience.

The location and service were amazing. The girl working in the night helped us with everything with a big smile. Our room was amazing too , the linens were white, bathroom looked decent as well. The hotel patio is amazing.

Google
The worst possible location to stay. Sauna and laundry to the left, bar to the right - it doesn't matter which way your room is you will be disturbed. The email when you book will only speak about the noise from the bar in the weekends, but doesn't tell you that you wake up from your sleep when someone walk on the aisle, you will wake up from the sleep when your neighbour's uses the restroom, you will wake up when the restaurant rearranges its chairs, when the bar close at night. If you think you can sleep through anything, think again. If it's a night's sleep you need, donot stay here. Don't waste your money, peace and sleep. Imagine talking with an unreasonable person trying to find a solution to a problem. Can we expect anything good from such a person? The unwise and money- hungry would pretend to the world they are there to help. When in such a situation, get away from such people. Kindly do respond in a manner that the above is all lies, and it is a 5 star hotel.

Yelp
What a nice surprise. Room was great. Air conditioning spot on. Cool bunk bed. Perfect location and the attached coffee shop open at 6! What else do you need?!

Yelp
Perfect spot to relax and call a temporary bed while enjoying skiing or other outdoor activities around Nelson. I stayed in the budget room, had no concerns for fancy or extra space. The small washroom was clean, just enough area for storage and the mattresses were comfortable. Shower room down the hall was just right as well. Be aware, with the budget room, there is no access to the sauna or gym... although free coffee in the lounge was present and decent. Staff were friendly, the coffee shop knows how to pull a good shot, food was great in the downstairs restaurant...

Yelp
Pretty upset. Booked a room and when I checked in the manager said they were very vacant cause of covid. When I saw my room had no bathtub i asked to switch rooms and he told me I would have to pay for BOTH rooms if I wanted to switch even though the hotel is mostly vacant....super lame

Yelp
A unique find in the BC interior. Obviously renovated recently - front desk told us 3 years ago but looks like this year! Rooms are very modern and funky. The restaurant is fantastic as well - great selection of small plates and regional wines. Only problem is no elevator, you must ascend from the lobby up at least one floor to get to the rooms; not a problem for us but a little challenging for one of our group with a fractured pelvis. Not the property's fault! Also, great independent coffee shop next door for your morning beverage before setting out again. Would definitely stay again.

Yelp
Wonderful stay!!! Would highly recommend. Rooms and shared washroom were clean and spacious. Comfortably fit 3 people. Shared dining room and patio were comfortable and had lots of amenities. Front desk was polite and very informative.

Yelp
The worst service I have ever received in regards to nightime entry. "Polly" couldn't have been more combative - my friend wanted to use the facilities. I won't be back as long as she is in employed by the hotel. I work in guest service, and she was an absolute fail. The hotel is centrally located and the beds are comfy :). The walls are unfortunately thin... I heard Polly laughing/talking every hour on the hour - not to mention my upstairs neighbours. J

Yelp
Great hotel for the price. Very clean. Comfortable bed with 4 pillows on it. Location great Good food and drinks downstairs. Very friendly staff. Will stay again.

Yelp
We had a great stay at the Adventure Hotel. We stayed two nights, as this was our rest day, bicycling the International Selkirk Loop. We had nothing but great service at the hotel, but the sports bar down stairs where we had dinner one night? It could use some work. Not all, but our waitress was slow as molasses. The final straw that earned her a smaller tip? At the end of dinner I asked for a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Fifteen minutes later, (in a mostly empty bar), I asked another waitress if she would ask our waitress if she found the cow yet. But the hotel is very nice. Clean rooms, nicely decorated, and quality bedding and linens. We'd stay again.

Yelp
I found the staff to be perhaps the friendliest and most helpful in any place I have stayed the last year. I love this place. Clean, modern, updated and perfectly located right in the heart of downtown Nelson. Prices are incredibly reasonable. For us, it was easy to go spartan and simple. Our time spent here was out of the room, wandering the streets, eating and drinking and using Adventure Hotel as a base between backpacking trips. We opted for the small bunk rooms. Sure, tiny room, but super-cheap, clean, nice TV, good view out the window and A/C (which was welcome during a rare BC heat wave). The staff was eager and happy to recommend eateries, etc. Never got one whiff of indifference from them. Highly recommended. We love Nelson and the Adventure Hotel only made the stay more special. It makes me shudder to think that we almost pulled the trigger on paying nearly 200 bucks for a room at the Best Western until we found the Adventure Hotel at nearly 1/3rd the price.
