The African Tulip

We stayed here for 2 nights in September as a part of an Odysseys Unlimited tour of Tanzania. We arrived after 8pm and were warmly greeted by the staff and presented with a watermelon drink. We were assigned room 22, which shares a common area with room 21. This was strange as we did not know the people in room 21 and they were not a part of our tour group. The common area had a hot and cold purified water dispenser and a few sofas. No bottled water was provided as this dispenser took our place. Our room was nice with a firm king-sized bed and a window seat with a windows overlooking the parking lot. The bathroom was big with lots of extra toiletries. The breakfast buffet was good with an egg station, plus meats, breads, yogurt, etc. Coffee and tea were brought to our table. Our groups lunch and dinner service were served in courses at our table, and the food was good and plentiful. There is a bar in the hotel and also one by the pool, where you can get a local beer (and other drinks) and relax. The service at this property was very good and the people were friendly. The only issue we had was after returning from an Arusha NP game drive, our room key no longer worked. This happened to one other couple in our group as well, but this was quickly resolved by the front desk. If you like to walk, the hotel grounds are small, and the area around the hotel is not really suitable for leisure walks. This is a very nice property with excellent service, providing a good start to our vacation.

Nice hotel in the middle of Arusha. We stayed only one night. Our room was a suite with a large sitting room and 2 large bedrooms - the kids had their own room. The rooms were huge and clean.|Unfortunately we didn’t have time to make use of all the facilities. The swimming pool was on the small side and in the afternoon it was already in the shadow.|Dinner was good and very good portions, breakfast could be improved - there were not a lot of breakfast choices.|Staff is very helpful.

Amazing Hotel in Arusha . Very close to busy street, yet very quiet and serene property.. very nicely curated... Rooms are good. Breakfast has good spread. Staff is very friendly... Perfect replace to stay in Arusha... Before your onward or return from Safari.....

We stayed here for one night before leaving Arusha. Initially when we arrived there was a mix up with our booking. However, the owner quickly resolved the issue and came out and immediately apologized several times. He was a very kind man. The breakfast was amazing. They have an espresso machine so you are getting good quality strong coffee. This hotel is very beautiful and I would recommend to stay here before or after your safari if you want the luxuries of home: good food, hot shower and great wifi.

The African Tulip was a welcomed sight at 3am with our spacious room, very comfortable bed, and an accommodating staff to get us settled.|We were exhausted after 25+hours of travel time to arrive in Arusha and The African Tulip was the perfect start to our 2 week Safari adventure.|The restaurant is another treat! The food, staff, and decor make it a fun and delicious experience. |The African Tulip was recommended to us by Extraordinary Journeys and friends. We will do the same.

The hotel was very nice. The rooms were clean the bedding was good. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this hotel. It was a pleasure stating there.

The room was spacious and very clean. The food was delicious and staff were friendly and helpful. We are going back for another night before returning home. We are looking forward to it.
