Wow!!! The Albanach is one of the best, if not the best places we have stayed in Scotland. Robin and Ballal were super hosts and couldn't do enough for us. The breakfasts were amazing and a great change from the traditional Scottish breakfast, with all dishes made to order. Our room was great and tastefully decorated, bed very comfortable with wonderful views over Lochinver to the mountains beyond. We will definitely return.

Such a wonderful place! The entire house is stylishly furnished with attention to every detail. The garden is so beautifully landscaped. The guys are very warm and lovely! We also had the best and freshest breakfast in all of Scotland, with fresh fruit and herbs from their own garden. Highly recommended! 🌸

Albannach||This was our favorite accommodation in Scotland! The house is lovely, our room was large and so very comfortable, and the hosts were friendly and wonderfully helpful. Interestingly we had a couple of rainy days here and still it was our favorite. The town is lovely, and we had a very nice walk in the local woods. The Albannach was a great place to just sit and unwind. Robin and Ballal made us feel at home. Highly, and beyond highly recommended!

This B&B feels like a fairytale. The hosts are incredibly kind and dedicated, going out of their way to make every moment special. Each morning started with a delicious breakfast — served with gentle background music that made waking up an absolute joy. The entire place is tastefully decorated. Everything here is just right. You won’t need to think twice: this is the place to stay.

out of all the places we stayed in our 2.5 weeks in Scotland, this was our absolute favorite. it was such a special place to stay in the most beautiful setting. the owners are fantastic, so hospitable and lovely, and the homemade breakfast was to die for. I can’t wait to come back.

really excellent stay. This place makes the best coffee I have ever had in any hotel or b and b anywhere. While I was drinking it I worked out I've spent well over one year of my adult life staying in hotels. I always bore people by saying there is no such thing as a decent cup of coffee at a hotel breakfast. And my heart always sinks when I have yet another useless insipid lukewarm cup of weak, rationed hotel coffee. For the first time ever, at the Albannach I had a really excellent cup of well made freshly brewed strong hot coffee made by people who clearly know what they are doing, and there was plenty of it too.

Book The Albannach immediately! You won't regret it. My partner and I stayed here for our elopement wedding last week and we couldn't have enjoyed our stay more. Every single 5 star review for this place is accurate. Ballal and Robin are fantastic hosts with great recommendations for places to eat, things to do etc. Nothing is too much trouble for them - going above and beyond for us when our dinner plans had to change last minute. The decor is stunning and the breakfasts are absolutely delicious. We will be back, and hope that staying somewhere so wonderful hasn't set the bar too high for us when we stay elsewhere. Thanks guys, staying at The Albannach topped off a perfect week!

We had the most amazing stay at The Albannach. The two owners clearly run the business with love and both were lovely to chat to and went above and beyond to make our stay even more special. We had The Byre suite, which is in its own building, has its own private path out to a Loch view, and it's own hot tub and massive bath. I am sure all of the other rooms are lovely, but if this is available pay the little bit extra you will not regret it. The property is a safe and easy 15 minute walk into the village, plenty of decent food in the village (I've posted reviews about the places we ate) and nice walks to do as well (see Albannach's website for some suggestions) Breakfast may be the best I have ever had - Ballal bakes his own sourdough and home fermented kombucha is also on offer. Everything was perfectly tasty and it was an amazing way to start the day, I am veggie and my wife is pescatarian and I couldn't imagine a menu with more incredible options for us. We fell in love with our little house and strongly considered claiming squatters rights so we didn't have to leave, but now we have I couldn't recommend strongly enough that you book to stay as soon as possible.

Yelp
What a lovely destination hotel/restaurant this is. First impressions count for a lot and the first impressions here are first class. We arrived, on a overcast September day looking forward to hunkering down for the afternoon. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and after we were shown to our room were served with complimentary tea and cake in the hotel's conservatory. It was just what we were after and the cake was delicious which boded well for our meal at the hotel's Michelin starred restaurant (our primary reason for the visit) later. Non-residents can dine here too but it is much more pleasant to be able to stagger off to bed rather than mess around with taxis etc. Our room was perfectly pleasant and clean but not the reason to visit. That was to come at dinner. We assembled in the conservatory for pre-dinner drinks and the set-menu was explained to us. Dietary requirements had been taken when we arrived so there were no unpleasant surprises waiting for us. Then followed a huge single langoustine as a pre-dinner snack. It was exceptionally good, tasting as if it had been farmed the same day. The dinner was similarly successful with the stand out dish being a beautifully roasted piece of roe deer with candied beetroot among the accompaniments. The following morning we were treated to a beautifully cooked Scottish breakfast before heading out into the hills and repeating the same experience all over again until our stay came to an end.
