Just come back from our NC500 trip and wanted to recommend this beautiful hotel. It is set in a stunning location in a very peaceful setting. Our suite was stunning featuring the most beautiful decor and furniture, fresh and clean and just immaculate. I loved the addition of the air bath too in the bathroom. Perfect after a day's walking. Breakfast was served in the delightful conservatory overlooking the beautifully maintained gardens. Robin was the host with the most so welcoming and charming. I thoroughly enjoyed the home made granola so much so I really wanted the recipe followed by the delicious omelette on sourdough toast. I stay in a lot of hotels in the UK and this place was right up there as one of my favourites. Everything was just perfect. I wish I lived closer as I would be there all the time!

Spending a few nights at the Albannach was the highlight of our Scotland road trip. The house is beautifully located, perfect for a relaxing break. Ballal and Robin are the perfect hosts, attentive and very knowledgeable. Our suite was just out of this world, beautifully furnished and so comfy. The breakfast menu was impressively imaginative and everything we sampled was amazing. We are looking forward to return next year - we may have found our new favourite place.

Arrival - fabulous -Met by Robin who very energetically took all our luggage up the 33 steps - and back down on departure. The views up those steps to the most fabulous accommodation was more than worth it. Ballal cooked us the most wonderful and exciting breakfasts These guys really know how to look after guests. They don’t ever stop working so hard and their gardens are beautiful. Will be returning and recommending.

Such a wonderful place! The entire house is stylishly furnished with attention to every detail. The garden is so beautifully landscaped. The guys are very warm and lovely! We also had the best and freshest breakfast in all of Scotland, with fresh fruit and herbs from their own garden. Highly recommended! 🌸

Wow!!! The Albanach is one of the best, if not the best places we have stayed in Scotland. Robin and Ballal were super hosts and couldn't do enough for us. The breakfasts were amazing and a great change from the traditional Scottish breakfast, with all dishes made to order. Our room was great and tastefully decorated, bed very comfortable with wonderful views over Lochinver to the mountains beyond. We will definitely return.

Albannach||This was our favorite accommodation in Scotland! The house is lovely, our room was large and so very comfortable, and the hosts were friendly and wonderfully helpful. Interestingly we had a couple of rainy days here and still it was our favorite. The town is lovely, and we had a very nice walk in the local woods. The Albannach was a great place to just sit and unwind. Robin and Ballal made us feel at home. Highly, and beyond highly recommended!

We visited last year. We stayed in the Byre. Excellent stay. The room and facilities were first class. Breakfasts were excellent. Our hosts were both excellent taking time to enquire about our day.

This B&B feels like a fairytale. The hosts are incredibly kind and dedicated, going out of their way to make every moment special. Each morning started with a delicious breakfast — served with gentle background music that made waking up an absolute joy. The entire place is tastefully decorated. Everything here is just right. You won’t need to think twice: this is the place to stay.

What a lovely destination hotel/restaurant this is. First impressions count for a lot and the first impressions here are first class. We arrived, on a overcast September day looking forward to hunkering down for the afternoon. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and after we were shown to our room were served with complimentary tea and cake in the hotel's conservatory. It was just what we were after and the cake was delicious which boded well for our meal at the hotel's Michelin starred restaurant (our primary reason for the visit) later. Non-residents can dine here too but it is much more pleasant to be able to stagger off to bed rather than mess around with taxis etc.
Our room was perfectly pleasant and clean but not the reason to visit. That was to come at dinner. We assembled in the conservatory for pre-dinner drinks and the set-menu was explained to us. Dietary requirements had been taken when we arrived so there were no unpleasant surprises waiting for us. Then followed a huge single langoustine as a pre-dinner snack. It was exceptionally good, tasting as if it had been farmed the same day. The dinner was similarly successful with the stand out dish being a beautifully roasted piece of roe deer with candied beetroot among the accompaniments.
The following morning we were treated to a beautifully cooked Scottish breakfast before heading out into the hills and repeating the same experience all over again until our stay came to an end.
