This is a fantastic hotel with an unbeatable location—right in the heart of the city, close to everything you might need as a tourist. The service was consistently excellent throughout our stay. A special shoutout to Raymond, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. He was not only professional but also incredibly friendly and kind, always ready to help with a smile. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, and the atmosphere of the hotel was warm and relaxing. If I ever return to Amsterdam, there’s no doubt I’ll be staying here again. Highly recommended!

Right from the time we made the reservations, the front desk has been diligent in keeping us posted of our reservation status . |As we got closer to our date of arrival they asked us if they could help us make our visit comfortable. We arrived early from an international flight and requested an early check in. They worked with us to ensure we were able to check in with an upgrade for a slightly higher rate and made the room available. |The most amazing part is Noelia / front desk Supervisor received us warmly , helped us with our luggage and brought us some coffee and tea supplies and left. |Talk of Heartwarming European/Dutch hospitality, she personifies it!|She definitely made Albus hotel look great! So did the rest of the front desk staff who are so pleasant and helpful! Good leadership Noelia!

We just had four really great nights at the Albus Hotel. From the start everyone of the staff was really friendly and so helpful. The complete experience was as good as it could be. Everything was spotlessly clean. We had a garden view room. The rooms are not overlarge but the bed is really nice. You just have to be tidy! The hotel location worked out to be perfect. It is right is the middle effectively so you can walk to any of the highlights. Trams and boats are very nearby if required. Try the little road opposite for evening eating. You will be amused. The breakfast staff became friends. Nothing is too much trouble ands there is a good choice. Get an UBER to and from the main station, it is good value and works well.

We had a truly wonderful stay at The Albus Hotel. The rooms were stylish, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped, with spacious bathrooms and everything we needed for a relaxing visit. What really made our experience exceptional, though, was the staff. Every team member we encountered was not only professional and helpful, but also genuinely kind and welcoming. They anticipated our needs before we even realized them ourselves, and their warmth made a lasting impression on our time in Amsterdam.

Just finished up a 3 night stay at the hotel and have no complaints! Rooms: Small but typical for Europe. The room was clean and no issues with turn down service. Location: Very good location, everything we wanted to see as a tourist was no more than a 20 minute walk. Staff/Service: Staff was very friendly! Offered early check in for a small fee and provided free drinks during the weight. I would stay again.

Google
Great little hotel. Pictures on website were nothing like the room. Pictures made it look like there was a sofa but in reality it was 2 chairs and was tiny. But bed comfy and decent shower. It was only somewhere for us to sleep so we made do. Got a great deal on lastminute.com

Google
Overall, a very welcoming and restful spot during my Amsterdam trip! I was greeted every time I entered the lobby by the gracious desk attendants. My room was modern, with some fun lighting features (backlit wall, closet light that went on when you opened the door.) The bathroom was modern with a walk in shower area. The room had a wonderfully comfortable bed with lots of pillows. There were also a couple of nice chairs to sit in and Nespresso in the room! Great location near lots of things to see and do in Amsterdam.

Google
A wonderful hotel with great staff. My wife and I stayed here for four nights and had a very comfortable stay. The staff is very helpful and polite. The hotel is 5min away from the metro station and tram station, the floating flower market is 2min away. It is very well situated. I highly recommend staying here for a wonderful time in Amsterdam.

Yelp
The Albus is a stylish hotel. We stayed here 4 nights when we visited Amsterdam and chose the Splendid City King room. The room was a nice size and the bed was comfortable. My only complaint is that the room did not have a mini fridge. We did not dine in the restaurant (Senses) but we did visit the bar for drinks. The hotel is in a really good location to walk to places and to access public transit.

Yelp
Pretty cool place. Decent location, rooms were spacious and nice enough for us for sure. Not a horrible price for what you get, beware the lower floors on a weeknight! For whatever reason there was very loud music throughout the night on a Monday...

Yelp
I waited a few days to post this in the hopes that the hotel would do the right thing but they didn't. I was the victim of a crime while a guest at the Albus and they took zero accountability and failed to address the situation. My daughter and I checked in on July 4th. On July 5th (Friday), we went to a museum and came back for a mid-day break. We noticed Housekeeping had come by while we were out. As we were getting ready to leave again, my daughter realized one of her rings was missing from her jewelry box. I reported it immediately to the hotel and they promised an internal investigation. I checked my jewelry box and I thought my pieces were all accounted for but in the mayhem and shock of my daughter's loss, I failed to notice my diamond necklace was also missing until July 7th (Sunday) which I promptly reported. The hotel requested descriptions and value, I provided pictures of both pieces and an estimate of up to $10K as they were both heirloom pieces passed down from my deceased mother. More than the monetary value, they are both sentimentally priceless. I checked in with the hotel daily and it wasn't until July 8th (Monday) when I spoke with the Division Manager. Officially, their investigation did not produce "any conclusive evidence to determine exactly what happened". Unofficially and what he shared with me was that in our entire stay from July 4th to our conversation on July 8th, housekeeping entered our room once. The housekeeping member who cleaned the room abruptly quit on July 5th, the day of the theft. After some effort, the hotel and the housekeeping company were able to track him down and question him but he denied it. The manager informed me that the housekeeping company will never hire him again. The hotel acknowledged the loss of the ring and necklace. They acknowledged that a member of their staff entered our room in the time period when the jewelry was stolen. They took days to "investigate" and all they offered was an apology "for the inconvenience you have experienced" and a bottle of champagne which I didn't even want or open. This cannot be acceptable for the victim to be made the victim twice over. I have an open request pending with the Amsterdam police. This was our first time in Amsterdam which was a lovely city and we made the best of our time there, in spite of this crime and how the hotel handled it. I cannot recommend staying at the Albus based on their response and lack of accountability.

Yelp
We've stayed here a couple of times when in Amsterdam and as far as location it can't be beat! It's a boutique hotel and right around the corner from a variety of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. They have their own restaurant but we never seem to make it during the hours it's open. The service is great. The Room we were in needed some work for sure but it is what it is and we didn't spend much time in the room anyway!

Yelp
Excellent hotel!!!! I can't say enough about here!! The staff was English speaking and ultra friendly. There's also an espresso machine in the lobby that's available in the morning. Right next to the machine is a little fridge with popsicles. Yum! Sunglasses and rain ponchos are here too. Everything you made need to start your adventure. The rooms were a good size and the beds were comfy. The bathrooms gave you all the amenities needed. Shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and body wash and were refilled daily. Plugs were right next to the bed on each side. Coffee was in the room, but we never used it. The street view was cool, but it can be a little noisy from the bars downstairs. To me, the street noise gave me that Amsterdam City feel, so it didn't bother me at all. The Albus is close the the Heineken Experience and to the IAMSTERDAM sign. Such a great walking city. All the tourist sites to see are really within 5 miles of each other. The canals are picturesque and so relaxing. Be sure to make time to enjoy this beautiful city.

Yelp
Elevator remains broken - we had to scale 5 flights of stairs to reach our room. We also forgot a valuable in our room (GPS verified) but the staff (Raymond) would not look for it. He was extremely rude and deceitful when we requested help.

Yelp
Swanky hotel in a great location. This place is very close to the main downtown area and only a half hour walk from the major train station. It has nice amenities, a friendly staff, and cool ambiance. It's sexual with its art and decor but I mean it's Amsterdam so you kinda expect it! It would be a let down if it wasn't! I can only make one suggestion. It's beds were not very comfortable and we didn't sleep great that first night. To be fair this was our first stop after flying for 10 hours so don't take my complaint to far. It is a good hotel and we would likely stay again.

Yelp
Was greeted with champagne and smiles. Decent sized room with everything you need to enjoy your stay. I felt it was reasonably priced and decent value. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I asked for places to enjoy a meal on their recommendation and they provided a map with some point of interests for locals. Nice Nespresso machine for coffee as well and fresh drinking water from the tap.

Yelp
I can't speak much to the hotel stay itself right now, but I can speak to how they view their customers as I currently feel like they're holding me hostage. I booked an apparently nonrefundable room as part of a package (though the flight was refunded), and realized 15 minutes later that the event we were going for was not happening because of COVID. The Albus has refused to give an exception to allow a refund, which they can do. Mind you I had booked the room 15 minutes earlier. So now they are forcing me to continue with the trip or eat $800, essentially holding me hostage. I can say that I did want to go to Amsterdam again, but will never book this hotel if this is how they treat people. Why would I want to continue to give business to these people? I may update this after I travel there, but honestly, the bad taste this has left in my mouth will definitely skew my whole perception of the hotel.

Yelp
Delightful hotel in a good location. Rooms looked newly updated and everything was fresh and clean. Staff was eager to assist with any requests. We asked for towels and it was brought up within a few minutes. Our TV was not working and it was fixed soon after letting them know. Has a nice bar in the lobby and clean and modern interior.

Yelp
People were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was average at best. 1 elevator. Center city and a lot of eeed smell around.

Yelp
Booked hotel thru Hotel Tonight for $175/night for a one night stay. At check in, the front desk staff member informed me that I would need to upgrade to a larger room to accommodate family of three with a child. This was No fault of the hotel, but lack of information provided on Hotel Tonight app. The upgrade cost/tax put me just over $200/night. I only booked for one night because I wanted to make I was going to like the location and the hotel was going to meet our expectations. Location... Perfect location to Kalversstraat shopping district, tulip market, casinos, restaurants, bars, coffee shops within 5 minutes walk. Tram stop within steps from the hotel. Very busy street with pedestrians, bikes, and trams. 15 minute tram ride to Amsterdam Centraal train station which we used for travel to and from Schipol airport, 20 minute commute. 15 minute tram ride to Heineken experience. Great location which warranted my desire to stay 2 nights in the hotel. Room... Day 1- Suite was clean, quiet, and spacious, was able to check in early. Bedding was comfortable, flooring was tile which I prefer. Bathroom was clean, shower only, no tub, no problem. Included a mini Heineken keg, not complimentary. Room... Day 2 - Apartment upgraded at same rate as suite which was a kind gesture from Candace at the front desk and the management staff for granting the upgrade since I didn't have a reservation for the second night. The apartment is a two story unit, plus another flight of stairs to access the unit. If you have any problems climbing stairs, this is not the room for you. Traditional stairs in Amsterdam are steeper and more narrow than American stairs. The apartment included, fridge, freezer, full kitchen, washer, dryer, full bath with shower, tub, 1/2 bath, access to back patio, terrace with street view. Heineken mini keg with complimentary voucher, 2 complimentary bar passes, beer or wine, 25% of breakfast for two. Transportation...used public transportation for the entire trip. Purchased a 3, 3 daypublic transportation passes for less than $90euros. Easy travel on public transportation to all locations we experienced on the two day trip.

Yelp
Stay away from this hotel. This is a small family run hotel run by little men who try to be big. Very rude and obnoxious, never been treated so badly anywhere in the world. They charged me a fine of 200 euros on the grounds that in the room there was a smell of smoke and for the presence of traces of ash that they put themselves taking advantage of my absence in the room. They forced me to make this payment with the threat of not being able to return to the room and be kicked out of the hotel; i ask to call police, but they did not it: this is called extortion, carried out to those who are far from home and seek protection in a hotel. The ownership of this structure allows a petty director to invoke the presence of a regulation that is not brought to the attention of customers (there is no prohibition sign and relative sanction as in all civil places), if not by means of a scam studied at check-in (however, it takes place at 1.00 am), where they make you sign something for which they give you no explanation. One thinks that you have been attracted by price promotions and then recover through these extortive means ... Conversing with other customers they also ran into this incident with these dishonest ! For the rest the hotel is in a good position, but the rooms are not up to a 4-star superior as stated: the room was small e very noisy, the bed very uncomfortable, there is no mini bar in the room, they do not provide courtesy bottles of water, the shower in the bathroom is open and you have to clean yourself after use, with a toilet brush that they leave supplied , the cleaning is approximate (there were cobwebs on the windows, however, after the unpleasant episode, they did not clean the room anymore). In conclusion, stay away from this hotel, better hotels than the big hotel chains.

Yelp
Service. Service. Service. This hotel has excellent service. Not to mention lovely rooms, linens, cozy beds, great location and great coffee in the rooms. Did I mention the outstanding service? We were brought to our suite, given a short tutorial on how to use things and when we came in after a long day a tea kettle was brought up when I said I was ready to relax. Beautiful hotel and a truly remarkable staff. Amsterdam was amazing and we'll be back. There's no question where we'll stay, HERE AT THE ALBUS of course.

Yelp
Very well-situated and chic hotel in Amsterdam's canal district. Rooms were well-sized with nice decor, and full sized bath (including large shower in my room). I did note some of my travel companions had smaller showers. Breakfast buffet was fine, though of course hotel pricing is always high on food. Only beer on draft is Heinekin, but the bartender was really friendly. There are plenty of restaurants around so neither of these matter I stayed in October so AC was not a concern.

Yelp
We had the best time at the Albus! This is a great boutique hotel! My room was lovely and quite large for an Amsterdam hotel (and I've stayed in Amsterdam 4 times and struggled in getting a room that will hold my suitcase!!!) so I really searched. The Albus had nice amenities in the room, like an espresso machine, large sized wall TV, a rain shower in a large bathroom, and the room was pretty big! There were plugs for our electric devices as well. BEST OF ALL..was a phone given to us (each room has one), like an iPhone. It had google, internet etc., and allowed us to call anywhere long distance for free! HOW GREAT IS THAT?!! I found from the moment I walked into the hotel lobby (which is really nice), the staff was MORE than accommodating! They sat me down with a cup of tea for me and a beer for my husband while they printed out all the information and check-in paperwork. Then they walked us to the room, showing us how things worked. They also planned our little trips or excursions and showed us how the trams worked, etc. The hotel itself is situated right in the heart of the city, across the street from the flower mart! it's a great place, fabulously situated and nice!! close to EVERYTHING! canals, boat rides, flea markers, Red Light District and museums. I'll be booking there again! please don't hesitate to ask me questions about it! you can reach me Pam Croft at poohpammy@aol.com p.s. It's best to book directly from the hotel. you get better deals!

Yelp
Came at 11 am .. my room wasn't ready... ughhhh but while I waited a few hours for my room to be ready I was able to leave my luggage with the guest services have some champagne eat ice cream and have mint water and coffee for freeeeeeeeee... the staff at the albus treated us like family. They catered to us and made us feel important. They gave us great tips on where to eat and where to shop and honestly it helped us have a great trip in Amsterdam. When I come back I will make sure to stay here again. Thank You Albus for your hospitality. Also the lady at the front desk with the curly hair you rocked!

Yelp
Great hotel for the price. I honestly have nothing bad to say. Its central to everything and if I had not seen one or two slightly better ones ( they are about 20% more per night) on my trip I would come back.

Yelp
Pros: - Super friendly and helpful staff. - Greeted with a welcome beverage of choice (water, champagne, tea, coffee, etc.). - Very relaxing check-in process. - Central location. Easy to get around. - Easy to book reservations, tickets, etc. - Nice large, firm pillows. - Nespresso machine. - 2 Free bottles of water. Cons: - The rooms are TINY. Fine for a solo traveler, but very cramped for a couple. - The walls are super thin. Could frequently hear conversations in the hallway and the tv in the room next door. - The shower is terrible. The water is lukewarm at best. Plus there isn't a full door, so the water leaks onto the main floor of the bathroom. There's a hanging squeegee--but it's an inconvenience. - HUGE CON: the bathroom light has a motion sensor. The light doesn't turn off even with the door shut for at least 15 minutes, so forget going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. It will wake you up. The combo of being pregnant and jet lagged made for a miserable first three nights here. - There's barely any counter/storage space in the bathroom. Could easily use a shelf and an extra hook or towel bar. The lack of towel bar makes it difficult to dry and reuse towels (which they make a point of asking you to do as a green initiative). - The bed is super uncomfortable. It's very low to the ground and you can feel the springs through the mattress. - The AC unit blows air directly on to the bed. Very hard to regulate temperature and left me extremely dried out. Had to ask for extra blankets and move the other side of the bed since my husband prefers to keep the temp lower. VERDICT: Wouldn't stay here again. Pretty face--cheap and uncomfortable under the surface. Fine for a solo / business traveler if you're only staying for a few nights. Bad choice for couples, families, and pregnant women.

Yelp
Dennis Steffens made our stay in Amsterdam absolutely perfect. He greeted us when we walked into the hotel and took care of every detail until we left three days later. Not only did he take care of a terrible room situation because of our travel agent, he also took care of arranging our tram passes and museum tickets along with dinner arrangements two nights. It was really wonderful experience certainly not what other reviews have shared. We would stay at this hotel again.

Yelp
I really miss The Albus. This was my first time in Amsterdam, so it's difficult to compare this hotel against others. So, I won't. Instead, let me tell my holiday criteria and how The Albus helped meet this criteria. - I am young - I went on holiday with my girlfriend - I can't ride a bike - I wanted to visit lots of Museums (but didn't really care about the really boring ones) - I wanted to be near all the Christmas markets - I wanted to shop - I wanted to go on a canal cruise - I don't smoke (but I was with people who wanted to, so we needed to be near some good coffeeshops) - I wanted to stuff my face with lots of food - I wanted to stay in somewhere with modern furnishings - I wanted to stay somewhere quiet - I wanted to stay somewhere that felt clean The Albus is perfectly situated to do all of the things above. You're pretty much smack, bang in the middle of everything. Museums and attractions that are slightly out of the centre are still within a 5-10 minute tram ride. For me, the convenience made the holiday more enjoyable. I was able to pop back to the hotel to have a quick shower, coffee, drop off bags etc whenever I wanted without it ever disrupting my day. When it comes to hospitality, the staff were great. Checking in and out was smooth, no problems with room service and the staff were helpful when we wanted to stock up with any coffee/tea supplies etc for our room. The staff are also happy to make recommendations about attractions to visit in the city and can help you with bookings for local attractions. The basement room was plenty big enough for two people. Everything was clean and well presented. The bed was in a slightly odd position in the room was stayed in, meaning that only one person could walk around the end of the bed at any one time. This is a difficult thing to describe without seeing the actual room. It was a very minor inconvenience, but worth mentioning if you have a bad temperament. Also worth mentioning that the walls are a little thin. Nothing major, but it's worth knowing that each room isn't completely sound proof. Free, fast wifi was useful and there's a Nespresso machine in every room. Kettles are also available if you just ask at reception. Didn't watch too much TV but it worked fine, there's a whole load of channels and on-demand things you can buy. There's a free safe to use in the room too and you get some free toiletries with room service (shampoo, body lotion and shower gel). It's quite a hot hotel and the room we stayed in didn't have any air conditioning. As we stayed in December, this was not a problem, but I imagine it would be a little uncomfortable in the summer. I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I spent two nights here and had a great time. The location is excellent - easy walk to bars, restaurants, cafes, shops, and tram stops. The flower market is right up the block (lots of souvenirs and shopping) and the hotel offers discounted tickets for a great canal tour. Our room was large and very modern. Comfortable furniture, queen size bed, big TV, coffee maker, free WiFi, and a spacious bathroom. There were a few surprises with the bill, not least of which was that they made a bunch of crazy charges on our card: First an authorization for one night, then an authorization for a second night, then a charge for the full stay. All before we even arrived in Amsterdam! Until all the refunds came back off a few days later, we had twice the cost of our stay pending on our account. Not a big deal, but they had specifically said they wouldn't do that, and we had planned on paying in cash. Also, phone calls from the room ended up costing €1.50 each, even though all of the calls were to a toll-free calling card number. Again, not a huge deal, but annoying. They seem to kind of nickel and dime you for stuff. Overall we were very happy, though, and would stay here again.

Yelp
This is a nice hotel, very modern, and chic! The person who check you in beings you to your room! Room was reasonable - upgraded to a larger room for €15. I do not understand how a hotel says its a 4 star hotel but does not have any air conditioning! After asking why no air conditioning. I was told we don't advertise that we have it. (It's a modern standard to have it, you should advertise you don't have it) Asked if we could have another fan was told No! It is so hot in this hotel. They give you one small plug-in tower fan that has no power. The windows open a little bit but the bugs come in, yes no screens! I'm sweating and sleeping in a pool of my own sweat! Sheets were stained when arrived, front desk was attentive and change them. *HUGE TIP* if your going to stay here while it's hot out, do not get a high floor. Those rooms bake! Ran into 2 different people who said they moved them from the 8th (top floor) on to my floor 2nd floor. Could not recommend to anyone to stay here during the summer time

Yelp
Great little hotel. Loved the location, so handy to and from the airport. Facilities offered were excellent and a free upgrade to a suite is always nice too!

Yelp
Convenient location. Rooms didn't seem big for the price, though this is the only hotel I stayed in during my week-long stay in Amsterdam so it's not like I have other lodging to compare to within this city. It took some effort to shut the room door though. But receptionists were all nice and helpful!

Yelp
A NIGHTMARISH experience. This place deserves zero stars. Literally nothing about this hotel was acceptable. 1. When we first arrived, they "upgraded" us to a nice studio in an adjacent building that unfortunately resembled a halfway home (carpet on stairs filthy, supply closet swung open, bad smell). 2. No elevator in the halfway home - dandy carrying luggage (even with help). 2. The bedroom smelled like a dead rat. Overwhelmingly. It was disgusting. The front desk said they would clean it up, and they made it better, but it still stank. 3. The wifi didn't work. At all. 4. They changed rooms to a room that stank of weed. 5. Thermostat was broken in the other room. 6. TV signal is straight out of the 80s. This is 2017; you can't throw rabbit ears on the roof of your hotel and hope that works. 7. No minibar, no fridge, advertise room service but the hours did not match the menu, if you want a cold beverage at night you are outta luck. 8. Advertised front desk help, but when my husband felt ill on our first night, no one picked up from 1-4am. 9. When I went downstairs to find something for my husband; a man at reception took forever to get me a warm water. No juice. No snacks. Just water. Nothing to help his miserable upset stomach. 10. The kicker - he asked for my room number to charge us. Zero hospitality. 11. Room was noisy as hell, and facing the street. Windows did not lock. When I called reception, see #8. 12. With few exceptions (Ilona, Sofia I believe) staff was rude, curt, and/or unhelpful. This was especially true when we came down to complain about #1-11. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Yelp
Comfortable, modern, with friendly helpful staff. Location is excellent. Within walking distance of Rembrandt sq., dam sq, a giant flower market. We had a room in the back so it was quiet, I suspect the front is noise as most front rooms in major cities are. The breakfast at €19 a pop is a bit expensive but you can get great pastries the night before easily enough. I would stay here again. FYI. Surprising large number of English tv channels!

Yelp
Nice hotel, great location close to city centre. No AC if you're visiting in the heat of summer. September not as hot.

Ross H.

Yelp
I had an enjoyable stay here, my room was upgraded to an apartment for free on arrival, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. The Handy in the room allowed me to make (free) international phone calls and was indispensable as I attempted to navigate around Amsterdam. The hotel is in a wonderful central location. Will certainly be staying here again.

Yelp
My fiancee and I just returned home from staying at the Albus in Amsterdam. There aren't enough endearing, sincere and kind words to describe not only the structure itself, but how its managed and staffed. Before we even arrived, they went above and beyond to make sure our experience would be top notch when we arrived! The staff, knowing our recent engagement, decorated our room and made us feel incredibly special. The hotel is IMMACULATE, very modern, cutting edge, etc. They provide you with a mobile device to utilize as a navigation system for those who are navigationally challenged and cannot read maps well! :) This was all free of charge with the room. They gave us excellent recommendations for excursions and restaurants. Most important, they made us feel at HOME when we were very, very far from home. I've been to Amsterdam 3 times now and this being the first time I've stayed at the Albus, I will NEVER stay ANYWHERE else. I've gone ahead and advised all the travel agents I work with as well as my associates, peers, friends and family that if they EVER decide to visit Amsterdam, this hotel is my top recommendation. As an avid European traveler, I say this with the highest regard - this hotel is hands down, the best hotel I've ever stayed at in Europe period. Thank you to ALL of the staff at the Albus that made myself and Liora's experience one for the books. We will WITHOUT question return and will ALWAYS recommend this establishment. It is RARE I take time out of my day to write a review on a hotel but I felt the need to do so here. I was blown away by this hotel. Finally, the LOCATION! Holy guacamole! You're in walking distance to EVERY major attraction and I mean very close walking distance! If you're looking for a hotel in Amsterdam, look no further.. the Albus is TOP NOTCH!!!! Thank you again! We were grateful and honored to stay at your establishment!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I both thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. I was a bit worried because I accidentally booked a basement room through Orbitz which was non refundable. Check in was a little slower than normal but otherwise fine and we were offered coffee/water while we waited. I was ready for my girlfriend to kill me but when we walked in we were greeted with a modern chic hotel room which may have been the largest we stayed at in Europe. The bed was very comfortable, we had a little sitting area, and a nice large bathroom. The room had a nespresso machine which was refilled each day and room service seemed to do a good job. There was an ice machine in the basement which was a huge plus and we never had to wait for the elevator. They sold metro tickets at the reception desk which was also a decent plus. The location was great and we got to everywhere fairly quickly. I really can't say a single bad thing about the hotel.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for my birthday weekend and we were very pleased. There was a mix up with the price on the site and since it was only a little more I said it was fine. For the inconvenience they upgraded us to a suite which was very nice. The staff is very helpful and attentive. They have lots of perks like discounted tickets for the canal tour, drink bar, etc Also, i told them it was my birthday and they left a gift in my room with a note wishing me a happy birthday. Its the small details like this that make it a good experience for me. Not to mention its right in city center so the location is great, the rooms are large for the price and very clean. Overall I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

Yelp
Modest size room and pricey. Hotel is well located but on a major street with traffic and trams running 24 hours and has no air conditioning. On a warm night the noise was very loud if you have a front room. Should have known there is a problem when we found two sets of ear plugs on the counter. Look for another hotel unless you dont hear well.

Yelp
This is my first review but I plan on doing more as this is my first trip to Europe and am writing up different restaurants and hotels. The service at the Albus was mediocre at Best, but that was not my real issue with the hotel. I've traveled a lot over my life time for business and leisure and I have never once been charged a cleaning fee at a hotel upon leaving. Now I understand that if u were to damage something like the walls or the floor or anything I would be responsible for that In a monetary way but these people were absurd. I left towels on the ground and the bed unmade of course as well as trash from my shopping like tissue paper and shoe boxes and they wanted to charge me a 100 euro for cleaning that up and I lost it. Then she started to haggle with me on the number which tells u she is just trying to buckle and dime me like they did during my entire stay. I ended up paying 50 euro for absolutely no reason but I hope they really pay for it in the end when people read my review.

Yelp
We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. We were greeted with coffee upon arrival and they did their best to check us in as early as possible as our flight got in early in the morning. Rooms were clean and comfortable with nice decor. Quiet at night and a great location- easy to walk to all sights.
