The Alkaff Mansion

Heard this charming B&W Bungalow was once the residence of an iconic tycoon.. Nested within the grounds of Telok Blangah Hills (linked to Mt Faber via Henderson Wave Bridge). Once u arrived, the smell of forest greets u. It doesn’t feel like u are in Urban Concrete Spore. It has a nice courtyards, and manicured gardens, water fountain… the building now houses a few eateries offering different concepts eg cafe, a restaurant on the 2nd Flr… And take your time sipping your coffee and having your food here in a relaxed environment. Perfect for dates… or catching up with frens with undistracted attention. Some days they do wedding ROM events at the courtyards too. The only cons is, long walk fm bus stops. Best to drive or grab.

Wendy and Damon were wonderful. They made us feel welcome, that yet really enjoyed their job and went out of their way to make our evening most enjoyable. The food and atmosphere is lovely. The gardens and indoors were spotless, well cared for and the tables spaced well apart. We look forward to visiting again Thank you to the Floor and Kitchen team 🙏

Our first time here. Wendy’s service from start to end was great! She was very attentive and customer oriented. As Alkaff is pet friend, we brought our dog and Wendy was supper accommodating. She even brought us a bowl of water and pup treats! Our dog loved the treats and will certainly be back to purchase. Food came exceptionally fast without compromising quality. Overall, very good experience!

Cozy and lovely, like a secret garden. Worth to drop a visit for food, for drinks (interesting alcohol choices), for family/friend gathering , for photoshooting. Multiple choice of In house cake , but slight sweet for my own taste. Good for hiker, it just located right next to the trail.

I had such a lovely time attending my friend’s wedding over the weekend. The food was not only top quality but also served in generous portions—we were all completely stuffed by the end of the meal! The staff, especially Moe, were incredibly friendly and accommodating. We had a child with us, which can sometimes mean a bit of mess and extra requests, like switching to kid-friendly plates or asking for a cup with a straw—but nothing was too much trouble for them. The venue was also very kid-friendly, with a dedicated play area where children could draw, ride, and slide. My little one absolutely loved it! I’ll definitely be coming back with my family for a meal.

Had my wedding at The Alkaff Mansion, Joan and the team was great help and our wedding went smoothly. The package was also very worth and I really am so thankful for everyone that helped and I'm so glad I engage them. Great experience!!

According to NLB, this colonial mansion was built in 1918 by a member of the prominent Alkaff family and it's now operating as both cafe and restaurant It was fun exploring the surroundings while imagining the high society parties with such glitz, glamour and excess of the 1920s era

Very nice and cosy place. The food was good too but a bit pricey. Recommended for a date as the area is very lush and has good vibes.

PSA: DO NOT BOOK WEDDING PACKAGE BEFORE READING THIS‼‼‼ TLDR: Avoid like the plague unless booking on terms similar to the most recent promotion (see bottom of this review). Given the $$$$$$, value for money is nonexistent, and you'll get treated poorly if you dare to ask for fairness / flexibility / sympathy. In the process, they'd probably throw their employees under the bus too. Save yourself the headache and book with a proper respectable hotel. Frankly, I would boycott 1-Host entirely given our horrible experience. 1. UNFAIR TREATMENT: We booked the most expensive package with 1-Host more than 1.5 years in advance, only to hear of a promotion offering much better terms just 2 months later. There wasn't any transparency despite us explicitly asking if there were any upcoming promotions / discounts beforehand. 2. RUDE AND DISMISSIVE MANAGEMENT: Management (Alvin Chua) had a flippant "take it or leave it" attitude and even threatened to revoke the few perks offered when we tried to negotiate further. 3. INFLEXIBILITY: Management refused to match the promotion, even in ways that did not result in additional costs to 1-Host at all (e.g., waiver of after-party venue fee, which was part of the promotional package). You can definitely get much more flexibility when negotiating with hotels / other restaurants. 4. THROWS EMPLOYEES UNDER THE BUS: A 1-Host salesperson offered the promotional package to our friend outside of the promotional period. When we brought this up to show that flexibility is possible, the management asked us to report the salesperson to them. We said we would do it if they guaranteed to us in writing that they would not discipline the salesperson for it. They refused to provide us this guarantee, so we didn't disclose the salesperson's name. 5. SALESPERSON LACKED AUTHORITY: Our salesperson lacked the authority to make the decisions that mattered to us, leaving us feeling undervalued and unheard.
