Super intimate shopping experience with vinyl, art, soaps, and incredible wood carving. I went into Dusty’s wood shop on a whim and walked out having ordered a custom piece from my great grandfather’s arrowhead collection. Dusty and Rocio were so fun to speak with and discuss design concepts.

The Alley on bitters is a beautiful experience. A great place for a date day all in one place or even just a girls day! I love coming here and starting my day at the Bread box for some coffee and light breakfast and do a bit of reading. The atmosphere is beautiful and bright and it's a perfect way to start the morning. Then shopping at the cute boutiques. Briannas boutique has a cute selection of clothing and jewelry. I am particularly fond of the fresh flowers they sell and the headbands lol. Ivas boutique is also a must stop, the inside is to die for, the ambiance is divine and they sell so many unique baby items and French clothing for women. They also sell handcrafted jewelry that is absolutely beautiful and has real crystals. I bought the butterfly earrings for a friend quite dainty and it's wonderful. YOU MUST STOP AT CASA CHOCOLATES for a little treat! they import the beans and brew and making the chocolate from scratch. Such unique flavors and that have beautiful depth and melt on your tongue. This isn't your typical chocolate bar. This is an item you savor. The chocolate bars were $8 for one and they had cute chocolate disc's for individual servings. My favorite is the Mexican hot chocolate and my husband adores the dark chocolate coffee bar. Then stop at painting with a twist for a fun time and a few drinks :3 Stop at bat cave records for a wide selection of vinyls! It's hidden at the top level :3 absolutely such a sight and such an awesome experience I adore the sense of community the store owners have with each other, they really care about each other and do recommend each other. It's something you only see in small business's. .highly recommend you come by and you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Cute little shopping center that feels like a giant tree house to me. Nice restuarants and artisan clothing, paintings, crafts and food.

The Alley On Bitters is an old quaint popular place that locals like to visit at least once year, specially during Christmas. In the Alley you will find a few shops like Hotbox Salon for hair needs, and a few other stores with a wide variety of clothing, furniture and souvenirs.

The Alley is a composite of small businesses. Restaurants with bar, boutiques and more. Ramps available for wheelchairs. Scattered parking on outer parameters.

Cute area, shops I did not know about. We where doing the painting with a twist @7p.m. so the other cute shops were closed.

Great little hidden gem! We went to a tiki-themed 4 course dinner at the Meadow Neighborhood Eatery and Bar.. what a cool experience. They paired different cocktails with the food. It was so much fun! They have a fantastic outdoor patio, too. I'm shocked more people don't know about this place!

The Alley On Bitters is the cutest shopping center and a secret gem! This amazing shopping center is located in the north San Antonio area (just a few minutes from the airport). They have all sorts of local boutique stores with one-of-a-kind items, as well as galleries, wine bars and even fitness centers. They have plenty of parking, so no need to worry about that. This shopping center feels a lot like being out of town in Fredericksburg or something like that. The wine bar is absolutely amazing, and they have so many amazing shops to hop around. Everything is super hyperlocal and definitely worth checking out. I found some very unique items during my last visit and can't wait to go back! If you love to support local, this is definitely the place for you!

We went to the bread box for our mothers birthday and it was amazing, but they served H-E-B tea which was kind of disappointing. but we also thought there would be more to look at here. most shops were closed when it was 12pm a common time, and for some reason it was eerie. Like a weird presence. i know it's old but definitely don't expect much when going.

This is the greatest stop in the area. The food at the bread bod is excellent, if you leave without desserts for the family and extra bread you are really missing out. Fall is our favorite time of year for bread box cookies bc of the flavors, icing and the soft rich flavor. Everything is perfection. The staff is excellent, the owner pops out with ideas on how to make to make your recipes a little splashier and they are one very big family!!!!! As for the other stores, the other store down the alley from the BB has the most incredible stuffed animals and baby todays. I filled up my cart and I heard a chorus I'd II've toys all around. I tried the chocolate place there. They make Chocos in house and the owner or chocolatiers are happy to welcome to give an introduction every customer. Spicy or sweet or savory or dark chocos--free samples. I bought the one with paprika or cayenne--freakin yums. Painting with a twist another night--I painted like a pro--with their instruction and my ametuer background. I'm proud of myself. I'm going again. This place is a classic location for me. My mom would shop here when I was still holding her hand to walk. It looks great and people enjoy themselves on the wooden walkways setting a fun atmosphere. Good times. Memorable times

I love this area, there are quite a few local businesses, boutiques and community events. They have plenty of parking available. They Alley is small but landscaped beautifully, I definitely agree with the other reviews it does remind me of a treehouse. I recommend the breadbox for brunch or painting with a twist for a ladies night out. The waitress at breadbox was so kind and the host for painting with a twist was fun. All in all The Alley is a pleasant way to spend the afternoon/ night, whether by yourself or with friends.

Fun area. I usually adore these quaint walking areas with a lot of privately owned our time boutique shops. This is no exception. A nice place to spend the afternoon with friends, family, etcetera. The little galleries are fun, I recommend you talk to the owners and such, they typically appreciate genuine interest. Afterwards, as far as food, all winners. A favorite would be The Bread Box. Fits right in. The 555 location rotates all the time, as it is in Chef Dady's repertoire.

I just moved to San Antonio and I was looking for "chalk paint" for some home projects. Chalk paint by Annie Sloan, is not what you'd think of as 'blackboard' paint. It is paint that is clay-based; your piece requires no sanding, stripping, or prepping. It's SO easy to use. The Shoppe at the Alley was a Annie Sloan Stockist! And they do classes! The lady there was so very helpful. Anyone can use that paint! It is SO easy! The Shoppe also had gift-shop like items; jewelry, clothes, decor etc. Their prices were a tad high, but I get it- small and local business. Lots of inspiration there for chalk paint as well- everything was painted! The Alley shops are beautifully landscaped and adorable. It's like walking around a tree house. Most shops are closed on Mondays, and the place was very deserted, which is a real bummer. We learned that they do not do much advertising or marketing, and business is very slow. There's also Painting with a Twist (wine + canvas), a coffee shop, yoga studio, bead shop, antique shop and more. I will definitely return for more Annie Sloan paint or just to check out the rest of the shops!

Artisan Alley consists of about 15 cute little stores and two restaurants that used to be located on a dairy farm. The end result is a shopping center that is rustic and charming, albeit a little pricey. The coolest features (in my humble opinion) are all the stores that actually teach you a hobby or craft. Whether you want to learn how to make glass jewelry, paint a wine bottle, or sculpt a vase, you can learn at Artisan Alley. My favorite shop is Sunrise Pottery, where you can walk in at any time for a 90-minute pottery lesson for only $25. I think this is the best deal at Artisan Alley and would make for a totally fun girls' night out or date night. That even includes the supplies and you get to keep the end result. There are two restaurants at Artisan Alley, the homey Apple Annie's and the modern Bin 555. They are about as different from one another as possible, so it works that they are so close to one another. Apple Annie's supposedly has great pie, but I just tried a lemon bar, which was pretty tasty. Overall, this place is the perfect area to spend a lazy afternoon. You can browse all sorts of shops, from antique to garden and candles to cards. I love these shops and, while I usually don't spend a lot, I enjoy just browsing.

Artisan's Alley is a really neat area to shop and dine in. There's Apple Annie's restaurant which serves traditional American fare such as sandwiches, soups, and the like. It tends to get pretty busy as well (hey Kimmie - they serve your PB&J sammiches here too btw! Lol). From boutiques, to pottery, you'll find a lot of different varieties of shops at the alley. And of course, there's nothing wrong with just coming here to browse. Sometimes they have events where a few of the businesses get together for an evening and give discounts on some of their stuff. I even saw advertisements for things like sewing classes and what have you. FYI - I know that sometime within the past few months, the alley experienced a fire but I don't know how far everything went ALTHOUGH from what I understand, the businesses that were affected are pretty much up and running again.

She was very kind courteous and professional. She was very helpful in helping me choose the chalk paint that I wanted to use and what other things things were required and how I needed to use them.

Like Tabitha said, this place reminds me of a tree house! The rustic wood deck-style walkways and built-in picnic bench seating are welcoming with a touch of country. The area has a trendy-beatnik vibe with businesses including a wine-and-paint spot, a great café, and several little shops with vintage, antique, and trendy items. Many of the smaller boutiques stock clothes, knick-knacks, décor, furniture, and gift items that are similar to the country-chic stuff you'll find trending on Pinterest or Etsy. Little to nothing for male shoppers, everything is brightly-colored, blinged out, and/or covered in a cutesy phrase- not my personal style, but I know a lot of people who don't mind shelling out for what is sold here. Unfortunately, there are about as many empty storefronts here as full ones, and the area experiences little weekday traffic, so some stores are only open on weekends or have odd hours. Though it's out of their control, this spot would be helped by a turn lane out front for south-bound traffic- without one, it can be difficult to turn into the area.

I love this place, it's very serene and enjoyable shopping. Away from the hassle of malls and shopping strips. The shops are reasonably priced and they all have really cute gift ideas.

The Shops at the Alley are a wonderful place to disappear and wander for a few hours. You are sure to find something that catches your eye and you may just have to take it home. Around the holidays, you can count on tasty treats, warm drinks and live music. Nowadays, Saturday mornings feature a Farmer's Market with fresh veggies, 'local' olive oil, flowers and crafts. There are a few options here to grab a bite to eat, I love to stop at Bin 555 for a long weekend lunch. The entire area is pretty rustic and multi leveled but there are ramps so it is also stroller friendly. Enjoy this unique attraction hidden away on Bitters. Visit to pick up a gift, a treat for yourself or just to spend some time away from it all!

I have a hard time leaving a one star rating due to one shop. I had an appointment at Lash Habit this afternoon - amazing! That would get 5 stars! But after my appointment I decided to walk around for awhile and stopped in Rhonda J's Shoppe. It seems to be mainly a chalk paint store, but had a lot of cute home decor, bags, etc as well. While I didn't buy anything, I made a mental note to stop back in next time I'm there. As I walked out and was a significant distance from the shop, I heard a woman behind me call to me. As I turned, she asked me if I planned to pay "for that". I asked for what and she said "that bag that still had the tag on it". The store happened to carry the exact same Consuela bag that I own and every Consuela bag has a luggage tag on it. When I told her that it was my bag that I own and brought into the store, she simply walked away. No apology, nothing. It's been several hours and I'm still livid that I was treated that way and never receive a simple "I'm sorry". And I can guarantee you I will never be going back in that store.

I had my eyelash extensions done on the 23 of June by June 26 they had started falling out. I called on the 27 to let them know. They said they would call me to see how they could fix the problem I haven't heard from them till this day. I sent them pictures right away too. I paid $115. Plus a tip. Smh never going back waste of money.girl blamed it on the sensitive glue she used.

Very cute place to walk around and relax. It's like a big tree house. There is something new to look at around every corner. Landscaped beautifully... Kind of like a secret garden. The stores set their own prices and they are kind of pricey, in my opinion, but it's fun to walk around and look at everything. There's a great variety. Lots of antique stores so if you have "handsy" children it's probably not the best place for you. Lots of parking. Huge handicapped ramp so good for strollers too. Just an all around peaceful place to enjoy some fresh air.

The Alley on Bitters has a whole new look with a new name/brand and it's conveniently located between 1604 and 281, near the airport. The Alley has unique boutique shops, a photo studio, art gallery, coffee bar, restaurant/wine bar, antique shop and more. They also have a new Farmers Market open every Saturday from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. They have live music and the best fresh produce grown locally. If you like to shop in an environment that has personality, you should check this place out.

I love this rustic little shopping center. It's so artsy, Texan and local. If you're into crafts there are a few great little shops to help you in your habit. The antiques here are both beautiful and affordable. There is a great little baby boutique. And having a wine bar on the premises gets any shopping excursion off to a good start in my opinion! There was a fire here not too long ago and I'm happy to see the renovations going well and business getting back to usual. All of the shops are up and running and many of them are offering great art classes, which I love to do! The shops at Artisan's Alley are my go-to place for unique gift ideas. So many great little stores to wander through I know I'm going to find what I need!!

This collection of small stores and restaurants is a hidden gem that not a lot of people seem to know about. It has several unique, local stores with an interesting and diverse collection of items. My favorite store has to be Originals - they have a great collection of beads, jewelry, gemstones and minerals that are fun for a would-be rockhound or jewelry maker. But all of the stores are worth popping into, if only to patronize more local businesses instead of big chains.

Artisans Alley is a great boutique shopping center hidden in the middle of San Antonio. You would never know about it because they don't advertise much, which is a shame because there has been so many great boutiques that have gone out of business or moved including Apple Annies (new location off of W Military), Tuscany, Gardening Galore, Shayne Sauce, and The Pomagranet, some others. This place has HUGE potential if only they had better marketing. The stores still there like Rebecca Kathleen (which will be closing in feb), Yasmins, Bada Bling, Originals, and Chic Deeva are so worth it going. Support your local business, please!

This is a great little place to simply enjoy being alone discovering the hidden treasures in this place. If you come with a small group, it quickly becomes an adventure. The shops are varied and each is unique. The two restaurants (Bin 555 and Bahia Azul) are both great places. although I prefer Bahia Azul due to its always amazingly flavorful seafood and neat desserts. Moreover, the atmoshpere is great for a nice and intimate date.

Small, quaint for San Antonio. Also quiet and not as touristy. Has a place called shayne sauce, with tons of delicious salsa, jam, etc. All homemade.. and my favorite- free samples! I did the buy 6 of anything for 30$ deal. The other stores were mostly boutiques. The selection was limited, but it was definitely fun and relaxing to try and it was great to do something a little different.

Loved the shopping~`All the vendors were extra nice.And such a selection of unusual things !! WOW Was great.! I will go back again. My only complaint is the pie ~(if you can call it that) at Apple Annies. For $5.00 + a slice-I expected something as good to taste as they looked. My family and I were totally disappointed. Tasteless~Synthetic texture~hard to even figure out a flavor.Chocolate and coconut cream should be fairly easy to make ~~~but I would advise you to save your money..

If you haven't been to Artisans Alley lately, you don't know what you're missing! The Pomegranate Restaurant is now open...along with Bin 555 Restaurant and Wine Bar. Wonderful shops filled with jewelry, clothing, lingerie, shoes, antiques, gardening, gifts and stationery, home decor, antiques, craftsman foods, handmade artisan pottery, beads, glassworks, art classes of all kinds...you will LOVE the experience. Easy parking! Easy to get to!

I have been in San Antonio all of my life. I visited Artisans Alley many years ago and ate at a little restaurant that has since moved to another location. It seemed like the place wasn't being taken care of back then. I wanted to visit Bin 555 so I decided to go back to what is now known as The Shops at Artisans Alley. Going back after all of these years was really cool. The grounds are clean & well cared for. The shops are unique and they have 2 restaurants. I got a tour of the Pomegranite restaurant and found it to be very nice with lots of windows and a beautiful little private "party" room that will comfortably seat 10. The menu has some great sandwiches, soups, & beautiful looking desserts. I'm looking forward to going back & trying The Pomegranite. I had lunch at Bin 555 (tune in to their business for my review). I went through the Garden Store. It was really cute and, if I were into gardening, I could see myself spending a lot of money there. I was ver excited to see that Shayne Sauce Foods has finally opened a store front and it is right across from the Pomegranite. Having spent a lot of time in Fredricksburg because I love the shops and quaintness of the area, I would recommend The Shops at Artisans Alley to get a "quaintness" fix without the 1 1/4 hour drive. Stroll the boardwalk and enjoy shops that include antiques, jewelry store with workshops, clothing, unique gifts from Mexico, garden store, and many, many more.

The Alley is really one of the most adorable places in San Antonio. It's basically a giant tree house. The furniture shopping is great and everyone is very friendly. They also have a new salon there, Hot Box which is beautiful! They gave my brother the best haircut he's ever had. A lot of people don't know how to cut men's hair, Hot Box does. I'm giving Hot Box 5 stars!

Artisans Alley is a delightful collection of little shops. I first visited, & shopped, here back in the 1980's. Then one of my daughters & I began a Christmas tradition of coming here to shop & have lunch at Apple Annie's which has subsequently moved to another location. I still go to Apple Annie's, now at the corner of West Ave & Military Drive -- their baked goods are scrumptious & their entrees absolutely delicious! I was at Artisans Alley weekend before last, as well as last weekend. I found several wonderful Christmas gifts both times. I seem to always find just the right item, whether it's a gift or something for myself! I love this place!

This place is great if you are into the kind of things they sell there. It includes slot of specialty shops, and is really for girls. I used to get draged there by my grandma a couple years back. It looks cool with all the lights during Christmas.
