A bustling coffee/cafe run by a friendly and attentive team. Food okay and certainly good value. Interesting deco and a selection of different seating options. The staff make the difference here.

Very nice cafe in Betws-y-Coed. We came here for breakfast. Good food and nice atmosphere. Views of the traditional train station aswell.

Tucked away in this beautiful town surrounded by woods and mountains, this café truly stands out with what might be the widest selection I’ve ever seen. Over 100 types of tea, a full spread of food options—from traditional breakfasts to excellent vegan versions—and genuinely great coffee. It’s the kind of place that has something for everyone. The coffee was a real highlight: strong, smooth, and well-balanced. Despite the barista clearly being overwhelmed (I noticed she wasn’t even cleaning the portafilter between shots due to the nonstop demand), every cup still tasted amazing. Now, the only downside—and it’s a big one—is the ordering system. You have to queue up at the counter to order, while someone from your group holds a table, and on busy days it’s chaotic. We waited 40 minutes just to place our order. With staff clearly available to serve, I genuinely don’t understand why they don’t switch to table service—it would transform the experience. That said, once the food arrived, all was forgiven. It was fresh, hearty, and absolutely worth the wait. If you have the time and patience, this café is a gem—but be prepared for a bit of a marathon before you get to enjoy it.

Been coming here for years. Such a shame that it closes on 5th Jan 2026. The service has always been good and friendly. The food is great. Loved dropping in for a coffee and a cake looking out over the railway. Been coming for over 25yrs. Hopefully all the staff get sorted - good luck and thanks!!

Google
Great coffee, great food. Proper home made chips were a treat and it all arrived very, very quickly even though they were busy. My sister and brother in law loved their vegetarian breakfasts, "especially the sausage". My wife had a really cheesy rarebit that was delicious (I had some!).

Great breakfast and a massive selection of tea. Very friendly staff and cosy atmosphere.

Google
Ordered 2 sausage rolls and coffees. Queue to order was so slow must have been 20 minutes waiting in line. It wasn't massively busy with a few tables free but the ordering system was frustrating to say the least with just one person on a machine making the drinks. Food came out very quickly once ordered but the sausage roll had been microwaved to warm it up and had gone hard. Lovely inside with lots of cool conservation themed sculptures and stuff in there. Just let down by the waiting times to actually get ordered.

Yelp
Excellent teas and plenty of options for gluten-free and/or vegetarian diners! I had a nice meal of soup and salad, followed by a marvelous Kennilworth Estate Ceylon and a gluten-free almond crescent cookie for dessert. This lovely cafe also bring awareness to the problems apes face in the wild, has regular fund raisers for the cause, and donates funds to ape charities.

Yelp
Called in with my partner and baby who was in a pram, couldn't get around the cafe. Had to go out side and back through the railways side and sit outside. I left my partner with the baby outside and l went in to order, so many staff behind the counter like 8 at one time but l was 4th in the que and still had wait 25 minutes to get served. I orded 2 hot chocolates and £6.50 later l got my drinks. When l sat down to drink them my partner and my self were very disappointed, as half of the glass was filled with cream and the rest was fill with cold stuff the called hot chocolate. Tried to go the toilet and as 3 weeks earlier they said that they was out of order, this against the law. I will never go to the alpine cafe again very very disappointed

Yelp
Our favourite lunchtime or coffee time haunt in Betws. A highly ethical business, with plenty of gluten free and paleo options, excellent fair trade coffee and good sized (actually huge) portions. It gets quite busy, but there's heated outside seating too. Can't recommend it more highly for food, ambiance and coffee. Thank you

Yelp
So disappointing Came here because of a coeliac places to eat app and found it shocking. The menu is listing food as low gulten. Like that helps a gulten intolerant person or like us having a coeliac child. Spent over an hour trying to negotiate feeding my child. We left

Yelp
Had a nice BIG breakfast, and i finished off the lot. good quality food which is all free range and organic. I had the expensive tea collection - Jasmine tea which was presented on a bamboo platform with cute little cups. The menu has a good selection of food which is great for vegetarians and vegans. Great selection of cakes, quiches, soups and sandwiches and for my money simply the best coffee in the village. Has a lovely interior with great decor and the chandeliers are made from used bottle tops and coffee pod which is so cool!

Yelp
A total gem! Great news tea selection. Food and pastry for everyone: carnivores, vegetarian, vegan, gluten free. They are green and ecological. Supporting primate conservation charities!! I loved my scone and the alpine blend tea blend. Would come here frequently if I lived in the area! So many things in the case looked delicious. I had to control myself! Great staff. Very clean bathroom for customers. Fun funky decor!

Yelp
I look forward to the end of my walk around Betws y coed because I know this place is waiting for me, sigh. Not a hint of chintz, this cafe come restaurant supports animal welfare organisations - notably orangutans and apes and they decor reflects this in places! Great selection of delicious cakes, quiches, soups and sandwiches and for my money simply the best coffees in the village. Has a great outdoor area which is covered and heated, perfect if you have mucky pooches with you as we do and they make a point or advertising being dog friendly. Won't break the bank and worth a walk so you deserve the calories, even if its only a browse round the shops in village first. Only point of weirdness is that there are no customer toilets - granted the public facilities and only 50 metres away but there is a charge to use them! Don't miss out if you are in the area.

Yelp
A friend who lives locally had heard very good reviews of the place so we decided to give it ago. The interior is wonderfully eclectic, reminding you of some Victorian parlour crossed with a 70's living room. The menu has a good selection of food which is great for veggies and vegans. There are some great food combinations there as well (stilton and fig being one of them). I had the vegetarian club sandwich - very large portion which was really tasty. The deserts looked amazing, especially the cakes - some of which were vegan friendly. The other highlight is their extensive tea collection which i didn't get to sample. Would definitely visit again.

Nice tea and nice cakes, not too pricey.

Yelp
Nice place and good cakes. Coffee was OK but nothing special. Capuccino was only tepid. Rather expensive at £9 for 2 coffees and cakes
