Stayed on a B2B double booking before and after a cottage stay in the area. Communication before booking was prompt courteous and helpful and all my quirks were addressed in the best possible way. It is a magnificent place, which manages to strike the perfect balance and is luxurious without being snotty, comfortable without being shoddy, and it exudes an aura of nostalgia for the times that were. Our room - garden view - was spacious, quiet (even a wedding party held one night did not disturb us unduly) , clean and full of light, with a big sleigh bed and a very nice bathroom with bathtub and shower cubicle. Breakfast served at the table with menu choice - very good bread and pastries but only poached eggs (you can request scrambled but the ones we received were a bit sandy). Service prompt and courteous. public spaces grand and relaxing, lots of green all around. The hotel is positioned on a low hill near a main road from which the traffic is not heard from the garden room even when the mullioned windows are open, and easily reachable from the center of Truro - a lovely and proud Cornish city - on foot (about 15/20 min.), by bus from the main road or by taxi (about 3 gbp ride). I am truly looking forward to our next stay. Kudos to one and all.
