The Angel Inn is ideally located within I easy reach if all the restaurants, shops⁷and the lake. The facilities in the hotel are adequate although it does have limited parking. The food menu offers a variety of meals and a very good breakfast menu. Our suite was small and the onsuite equally small with litte shelfing or storage. Because it was a dog friendly hotel there was a lot of dogs so be prepared. I would stay again but only if I could find a more competitive price.||

We met my father at the Angel Inn as he was stopping for two nights. His room was very comfortable and clean. He said his breakfasts were very good. We had a Sunday lunch with him which was very tasty. Huge Yorkshire puddings and great servings. Deserts were nice also. We then had a dinner with him the following day. This also was very tasty. Great choice of food and drinks. Definitely recommend. Ideally located just up from the lake and in the town. Has its own parking for residents and guests. Not too many spaces.

After having such a good time here earlier in the year, at my wife’s major birthday, we booked the £800 Christmas 3 day package. The staff were friendly and helpful, the accommodation was as described with a cosy, warm room, and the location is great, but the package was not good value for money. On ordering our Christmas Eve meal we were told that there were no steaks left, (only a rump on the menu anyway) and no venison dish or no pie dish left. Bad kitchen management by the chef. I ordered fish and chips and this came incinerated, tasting burnt, so went back. Had to make do with a poor quality chicken burger. Not a good start. Christmas Day meal just okay, no fizz beforehand, a small seafood cocktail drowned out by Marie Rose sauce on a lettuce leaf, main course okay, Christmas pudding fine but sauce pale yellow and tasteless not sure what it was, no coffee forthcoming, and therefore nothing special. On Boxing Day afternoon we asked if they had acquired any steaks for the dinner menu and they said that they had not had a delivery, and were not expecting anything for a couple of days, so we eat out at a local restaurant. Not good when you’d paid in advance. On checking out we were offered vouchers for a future stay but turned down the offer, we did however get our £37 drinks bill wiped off.

We've been here a couple of times before for drinks when we have been staying at a nearby hotel. From the outside it looks like a traditional pub/hotel, but when you enter, it is surprisingly large and impressively kitted out. Service was good, and they had an impressive real fire which suited the season. Enjoyed it in there each time and I'm sure we'll be back.

Small, basic room but clean and comfortable. Everything you would need is provided. (Hairdryer, Iron, Iron board, tea, coffee, bathroom items and so on. View of the lake from the room we stayed in. (No'27) Friendly staff who make you feel welcome. Very nice Pub/restaurant with great food. You can also see the lake from the pub. A nice place. Would absolutely stay again.

Excellent breakfast and friendly staff. Booked by my wife for a 60th birthday present. I asked her to find a hotel/pub with real ale, real fire and good reviews for a 2 night stay. The Angel Inn looked to fulfil everything I'd asked for. On the first night, my wife had a bath, but we couldn't run me a fresh bath as the plug mechanism was broken, so couldn't empty the bath. I reported the fault and was told the issue would be sorted the next morning. They emptied the bath the next morning, but didn't fix the fault, so no fresh bath for me 2 nights running. No communications, explanations or remedy offered. Apparently it wasn't the first time they’d had similar issues. On reporting the fault again on the second night, the duty manager offered a complimentary meal. We declined as we had already eaten elsewhere. We’d had a meal at the Angel Inn the previous night and both felt the price of the meal was excessive for the quality of meal we received. We did get a complementary bottle of wine and a pint of bitter. No further compensation. Total cost to the hotel, probably less than £10. The cost of the room for 2 nights £358. I'm sure they were laughing all the way to the bank.|The second day was cold and damp, so the sort of day you can appreciate a real fire. No fire. Apparently they forgot to light it.|I was hoping for a relaxing couple of days. I left feeling angry and ripped off. I will not be returning.

We were in the minority that didn’t have a dog. Personally I don’t want to see dogs humping at breakfast - I accept this might just be me! We booked a suite (room 16) that didn’t allow dogs but due to it being an old building the slightest movement from the couple upstairs and it sounded like they were coming through the ceiling. They liked to be up before 6am. ||||Food was good, service was great and the location perfect. If you’re a dog lover then this is the place for you to spend Christmas - if not then maybe look elsewhere!

Yelp
Windermere is exceptionally charming, and the Angel Inn is the cream on the top. We stayed here for one night prior to embarking on a several day hiking adventure in the English lake district. After a train ride from London, we checked in and were immediately escorted to our rooms. It is a gorgeous, well appointed, old white cottage with seemingly unending English charm. The room included a queen bed with comfortable linens, en suite bath with a standup shower, in-room toiletries, coffee/tea service, and incredible views of the town of Windermere. Overall, it was very well appointed with modern features throughout. For dinner, we enjoyed the restaurant's evening special of sirloin and chips. We ordered it medium rare and it came cooked to medium. Prior to that we broke from English tradition, and ordered a very nice fruit & cheese plate for an appetizer. At the end of the meal, their sticky toffee pudding was quite rich and among the top four I've had in my life. They have a very lovely outdoor setting, complete with comfortable tables, that allow for glorious views of Windermere, both the town and the body of water. Angel Inn also has a guest lounge area, with comfortable sofas and chairs that allow you to warm yourself by their wood burning fireplace. It is within easy walking distance to the post office, co-op, Laundrette, and mere. It is a 1.6 mile walk, all downhill, from the Windermere train station. There are also bus routes to take you into town.

Yelp
Beautiful B&B, although it borders on a small boutique hotel. The room was very nice and comfortable. It was easy to find and convenient to walk around town. My food was excellent. Essentially, Bangers and Mash.
