Omg. This is a must visit specialty store. They serve coffees, pastries, candles, sandwiches, etc ! They carry international and local goodies. From olives, olive oils, pastas, teas, salsa, to just everything you are wanting for occasions. I absolutely love this gem. Definitely going back with the family.

I really loved the Annex! The patio is lovely, and the inside has such a nice atmosphere with a beautiful spread of original looking products. There’s a great variety of cakes and pies, and they’re delicious. The coffee is good too. That said, there are two things that feel like misses: 1. They serve you in a mug, but no spoon (which really blows my mind). They have wooden sticks. Good thing I always have my own spoon! 2. They expect a tip, but you’re essentially doing the work yourself…you walk in, order at the counter, wait while they prepare it, then carry it to your table. I don’t mind doing that at all, but I won’t tip in that setup. I will be back!

The Annex: Huge flavor, huge variety, and yuuuuge prices Bigger isn’t always better — and a perfect example of that is The Annex. It’s a bakery of big extremes, and it’s big on both the positives and the negatives. The Annex outshines its competition by being in the top percentile in several aspects: - Variety & Uniqueness: How many places do you know of in STL where you can get a lot of the classics, but still get something unique like a pear & frangipane tart or an ube white chocolate chip cookie? - Taste: To offer something like a pear & frangipane tart is one thing; to be able to execute it and make it taste good enough that it’s one of the most popular choices at your bakery is another. The best of the best at The Annex is the best of the best in STL; the key lime pie is king, the beef & mushroom streusel is life-changing, the pear & frangipane tart was the ultimate pear-adise, and the blueberry streusel cheesecake might legitimately be the best cheesecake I’ve ever had. But despite being so good compared to other STL bakeries in some areas, it’s big on a few negative extremes as well — and falls flat on its face versus the competition in other aspects: - Price: Some of their offerings are the most expensive pastries I’ve seen in the STL area, and they’re even more expensive than all of the bakeries I visited in San Francisco a few months ago. And San Francisco is one of the highest cost-of-living cities in the U.S., which makes this even more confusing. The baked goods here are good, but $11 pre-tax for a slice of beef and mushroom strudel that’s about as big as my fist? Come on, lol. - Inconsistency: Some of their bakery offerings are absolutely TOP-tier — arguably some of the best of what you can get in STL, like what I mentioned earlier. But some of their other items fall flat vs the competition: - ube white chocolate cookie (dry) - brownie (tasted like a brownie mix brownie from a grocery store) - blueberry macaron - cheese pierogi Overall, this bakery is a great choice, and I’d 100% take someone here from out of town if they were in the mood for one of The Annex’s standout items I mentioned earlier like the key lime pie. But are you playing dessert Russian roulette when trying something new? Absolutely Beef & mushroom strudel and blueberry streusel cheesecake > pear & frangipane tart and key lime pie > turtle cheesecake > pumpkin praline cheesecake > oatmeal creme pie > cheddar chive scone > lemon macaron > ube white chocolate cookie > fig bar > blueberry macaron > cheese pierogi > brownie

The Annex is a super cute coffee shop serving a variety of coffees, along with selling lots of cute items, and they even have an ice cream parlor, Half-Pint, inside. This is as close to a “third space” that you could find… you can chit-chat, study, get ice cream, or purchase something cute. I highly recommend swinging by!

As my stars indicate, the place is nice, but their coffee not so much. Drip coffee is weak tasting and acidic. Espressos are undrinkable. I've ordered them several times thinking it was a fluke, but each time they were so acidic, I ended up throwing them out. Not exaggerating when I say this, but it tastes as if you've squeezed half a lemon into a double shot of espresso. Food is ok, not worth the inflated prices. Atmosphere is nice, both inside and outside. Staff can be huffy if you ask for anything out of the ordinary. Example; we asked for porcelain cups, as he was getting ready to pour our drink in paper cups. That got us a sigh and a an eye roll for some reason. Do better anex. Plenty of other options around where you will be appreciated as a customer, served drinkable coffee, and will be greeted with a smile

Hands down the best Mocha Latte I have had in St. Louis. You can taste the difference of the La Marzocco espresso shots and that this coffee shop focuses on quality over quantity. That said, the line moves very fast and you can also order hot/cold food at the register. I recommend the Beef & Mushroom Strudel, Dolmas, and whatever version of tiramisu they have in stock. That apple tart frangipane is also delicious for any meal...breakfast...lunch...snack.

Overall: average stop, nothing life-changing but not bad food. One order had the Ham Jam with a Maple Cinnamon Latte. As a non-ham gal I wanted to trust the process though I should’ve substituted for a different meat. The cherry raspberry jam had good flavor but lacked the sweetness that is expected from a jam-meat-cheese combination. The other was the Pear, Brie, Arugula add turkey and an Iced Peach Latte. Between the both, we would’ve liked to have some more Brie, it flew pretty under the radar and didn’t seem to add much to either sandwich. Coffees were ok. I would’ve liked the Maple Cinnamon to have more flavor, it was a little boring. The peach latte is just as interesting of a combination as it sounds. Good sourdough bread, it was crisped nicely and pleasant to eat. I think this place definitely has the potential to be a great stop if you find what works for you!

Really good coffee shop in STL and great vibes. Indoor seating is usually packed, but they have good outside space as well. Overall, a good spot for a coffee/bakery.

I love the patio here! They even have heaters to keep you warm. There's a ton of parking in the back, but just a warning that things can feel a little confusingif you enter that way. To order you need go inside and towards the front and then you can order drinks/food. You really can't go wrong with what you order - I'm a basic ice latte person and it was delicious. All of the pastries looked so delicious, so we had to grab a few. The croissants were flakey and had great flavor. We also got a couple of burritos with fresh sauces.

It was a busy day on the weekend with kiosks and music outside of the establishment, so the line was long and lots of seats were taken. I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk, with no charge since the latte already has coconut milk and can be altered for free. It's an ok taste. I felt like the coffee wouldve been better to order.

The Annex is appropriate for everything. Afternoon snack, tiny fancy market, coworker coffee, light dinner, boozy brunch, they got you. Today I tried my first acai bowl here, I approve. Unfortunately, totally forgot a photo! It was a good size, I've had some that were way too small, the acai had a great flavor and good ratio of acai to toppings. The man got a cold brew milkshake, he reported that it did have a good flavor, but too much whip cream for him.

I always enjoy this place, it's clean and classy, the food is fresh and it has a nice ambience to it. It can get very busy on the weekends making the lines long and hard to find a seat, but overall it's one of my favorite places to come to.

This coffee shop is so cool. The service was great and there's a large parking lot out in the back. They have a wide variety of pastries and dry goods for purchase. It is a really neat store and it kind of takes you back in time with the vibes. If you're in the area, you should definitely stop by.

I have always loved this place! I went back recently because I have the STL coffee pass that gives you BOGOFREE coffees at select locations! I ordered a matcha latte and an affogato! I love browsing their pantry goods and coffees while waiting to order coffees. Then I love spending time on the patio when it's nice out and just enjoying the company! The place is also great if you need to study, work, or just hang out! They also have food that you can order and ice cream at Half Pint (next door connecting). One night recently, I ordered the Peach Sorbet! I was surprised to see a chocolate sorbet - that was my first time seeing that! The candy wall in the same room is also really tempting! I got some Coca Cola gummies!

Stopped in for the first time wanting a Chai latte. The old hipster guy behind the counter didn't even look up for an extended amount of time to the point I had to walk out due to time constraint. Even after I politely said "excuse me". Also it's way too gay - I don't need to be insulted by all this ridiculous "pride" what the hell are those people proud of ?????

Yes, yes and did I say yes! This is such a wonderful space! What a great walkable neighborhood it's in and how wonderful sister company Frisco has so many offerings in neighboring historic spaces! I had a custom chocolate peanut butter milk shake with espresso added! The space is wonderfully decorated and has an old time candy store / general store / Italian bakery vibe. The service has a personal touch and was so friendly!

Good vibes, decent selection of drinks (I had the royal matcha latte). I would try the matcha on its own as I wasn't able to taste it with the mint flavour in the royal matcha. There's also food available as well as coffee and tea to buy. Service was okay and my drink came quick. There's lots of seating indoors and outdoors.

The service was quick and super helpful! The space was calm and cozy with tons of options to choose from. Lots of seating and space, perfect for morning brunches or lunches. The food was spectacular, came out hot and the flavor was well balanced.

Have not been here for the coffee shop, but they do have a little store with lots of their own and other local products. From crackers to coffee beans to soup mixes and more they have lots of fun and unique options. Makes a great place to grab a gift for a foodie!

The vibes: immaculate. The food: fantastic. The service: amazing. Visited the Annex for the first time over the weekend so I could use the STL coffee pass. Little did I know that they have more specific requirements for this location but honestly not a loss as I was so charmed by this place that I am definitely going back! I had their pistachio latte and sat to do some video editing. The latte was fire and their wifi is strong, even with the amount of patrons there. I like how there are multiple inside areas, a variety of food and drinks offered, and a patio that's covered so you don't get roasted in the sun.

Great place to grab a drink and a little snack or browse their grocery section for a little bougie find. Always love popping in here and doing a bit of co-working. You order at the counter and the service is quick. Shares a wall and doorway with half pint treats for a little ice cream pick me up. Ordered a chicken Ceasar wrap and the basil lemons. The perfect pairing! 10/10 would get again

This was stellar! Really cool ambience inside with plenty of room to sit inside and out and very cozy and comfortable surroundings. Service was friendly and very helpful! I had one of their pistachio lattes with a BLT sandwich. One of the best BLT sandwiches I think I have ever had. Pistachio latte was also on point. Totally worth everything you are getting here! Looking forward to trying the Cuban sandwich next time. Parking can be a little bit difficult as the lot behind the place can really fill up. You might have to wait around a bit just FYI.

Giving a 4.5 if I could! Really enjoyed the coffee and pastries! Quiche was delicious and my husband devoured his cinnamon monkey bread muffin. The line was long when we arrived on a Sunday but moved fairly quickly. There was still plenty of seating despite the long line. The patio also has heaters! There were quite a few people working alone, reading, etc. and I am always looking for a spot where I feel comfortable to do the same. My only negative was everything was served in to go containers which dampened the feel of this extremely cute cafe!

In addition to food and drinks, The Annex features a small retail space stocked with cookbooks, kitchen accessories, artisanal snacks, and high-quality baking products. The display, conveniently located near the counter, makes it easy to browse while ordering. During my visit, I couldn't resist picking up a pancake mix to take home. I ordered a London Fog and enjoyed it inside the café before grabbing a cortado to go. Afterward, I took a leisurely walk through the nearby shops and studios, making for a relaxing afternoon. With its cozy atmosphere, excellent drinks, and unique selection of gifts and kitchen items, The Annex Coffee & Foods is a wonderful place to visit in Webster Groves.

Always a vibey spot to work! While I love running in here and grabbing a coffee to go, it's such a great spot to get some work done and park it at a table. Last time I was in was early summer (coolest start to summer ever) and was able to sit outside with the fresh air and be productive. The lattes are insane quality, and their provision options are elevated and fresh. I've only had bakery items but I am looking forward to trying options from their deli.

The Annex is one of the most aesthetically pleasing cafes I've been to in stl! The wall of teas, coffee beans, baking supplies, and other odds and ends and gorgeous architecture gives it a European "academia" charm. It's really hard to come by a cafe that serves just more than pastries. While I didn't it get it this time, I recommend their quiches. So flavorful! The baristas were focused and nice. I wouldn't say the most affordable cafe we have in stl, but otherwise a nice gem in Webster groves.

What a cool spot!! I love that there is not only incredible coffee, lovely food, a delicious bakery, but also a little shop? So lovely! I sat here for a few hours chatting with a friend and enjoyed every second of it! I was happy with how quickly our food came out and the staff were all very kind. Absolutely going to be back soon!

Food was great as usual, I tried one of their sandwiches this time and it tasted wonderful! The dressing was creamy and spicy, a nice addition to the warm bread and different meats. Sage latte was nice as well. We got lucky and found a small table to sit and eat at, as the place was packed! They could double the seating and still need more. Glad to see them being successful. The only frustration I had was that they needed to have 2 registered open to take orders. The line went all the way to the back dining room. 1 cashier, 1 barista, but 2 people in the food area standing and talking? Might need to move some folks around to help out when that busy. Still one of our favorite places to grab brunch!

The atmosphere of this place is amazing. It is my go-to for working remotely in a cafe. I love the combination of indoor and outdoor seating depending or not if i bring the doggo. However, The wifi is unreliable so i usually end up working off of my hotspot, which is not ideal. The food is good, I like the options in the deli as well as the sweets in the bakery section. The coffee is nice, the seasonal flavors are creative and tasty. It is pricey, no doubt about it. And they keep expanding, which makes sense. Frisco next door as well as the next few shops adjacent are owned by the same people. The service is good, they are always kind and timely in getting the drinks out. When you order a latte or something of that nature they even might pour a design on top :) Overall, this is my favorite spot to work offsite because of the vibe. Very cute and different from other coffee shops.

One of my favorite coffee shops! I tried their maple bacon scone this time. The flavor was really good, but was a little dry. Maybe I just got an off batch! Service has always been friendly and love the ambiance!

This is a great coffee shop in Webster groves! The atmosphere here was just impeccable. Plenty of seating and I loved the decor/color palette. They have a cute little bakery food area as well as a nice variety of drinks and seasonal specials. They also sell a lot of local goods, spice, pastas, sauces, etc. This is a great place to chat with friends or do work, etc.

Most amazing coffee and pastries . Cozy coffee shop and store with unique foods. They sometimes sell delicious sourdough loaves . Deli with breakfast quiche , burritos , toast, even açaí bowls . Chocolate croissant is heavenly . I can't get enough of this place. It is my go to spot for coffee and more. Employees are amazing and friendly and go above and beyond. Wait can be long at times in the am but it is worth the wait .

Met up with a friend for coffee. Ordered a hot honey brown sugar latte, which was both original and tasty. Good menu looks pretty good too, but don't work out due to time of day. Service was quick and friendly. They answered all my questions quickly and nicely! This was a good place to sit and talk. It was not too loud or crazy! Def will come back for food and more coffee. Also there is parking in the back, which I wish I had known about! Will do too next time!

The annex is a fun place to spend a lazy (or productive) morning at. There's usually good parking available in the lot behind the store. You walk onto the covered patio which has heaters running during fall and early winter and fans running over the St. Louis summer. There's some seasonal coffee drinks but I usually get the iced mocha , which is extra chocolatey because of the chocolate milk they use! The breakfast burrito is a deadly combination of bacon, eggs, black beans, corn and cheese wrapped in a flour tortilla and toasted in a press. If you're not in the mood for burritos or quiches, they also have a great selection of baked treats - my favorites are the macarons and almond croissant. But that's not all! They also have a eclectic grocery goods section with fancy hot sauces, tea, olive oil, you name it! The staff is very welcoming and treats us like regulars. All in all, the annex is a very popular place to hang out at!

Had a great iced coffee here this weekend. Line moves a little slow as there was 1 barista and 1 person taking orders. They also have a robust food selection. I had a oatmeal and chocolate chip cookie. Massive and delicious. Worth every single penny! Cool shop to walk around with cool food items. Quite a bit of seating in the back as well. Would definitely return.

The baked goods are delicious, but the quiche I ordered was obviously reheated in the microwave, which made the eggs, hard and the crust soft. Perhaps the worst part, though is the sustainability factor. It's shocking that a high end restaurant in a so-called liberal town is still serving food in disposable containers with plastic utensils. What a disappointment.

I love the wide variety of the menu here! Late night coffee seems to be a lost art in St. Louis these days. Glad they have extended their hours and are open til 9pm! Great spot if you are a student cramming for a test since they provide free wifi. Super cute area and connected to several amazing businesses as well!

This is such a cute place. It had some really nice and unique food and beverage options. The atmosphere was relaxed. There is inside and outside seating. This had an oldtimy feel yet the options were very modern. I loved my egg salad and the service was fantastic.

We came here twice for a little pick-me-up and I got their flat white. Their beans are definitely on the more acidic side so it didn't fit my particular espresso palette. However, they made it just the way I liked it, good espresso ratio. Very strong espresso! I made the mistake of having it too late in the day and it kept me up at night! But all in all, very cute coffee shop with speciality foods. We didn't get a chance to try their foods, but everything looked pretty good. If we ever returned to this neighborhood, we would come back for sure! It would be nice if they offered other espresso beans for their drinks -- would definitely try it!

I was with 2 other people and we walked over to The Annex for ice cream after dinner at The Frisco. We ordered 1 scoop on a sugar cone, 1 scoop on a dipped cone, and a 2 scoop sundae. I also got 1 bag of the $4 candy up front. This was $30 before tip. The ice cream was fine but not extraordinary. It's not even the best place in Webster for ice cream. I enjoyed looking at the products for sale in the shop as I have never been here before. All in all this was fine but I can't say I'd return.

The Annex Coffee and Foods is an absolute gem. Located in Webster Grove off Big Bend Road, the Annex serves as more than just a coffee shop: It is also a restaurant, bakery, market with local foods, ice cream parlor, and candy shop. I was shocked to see everything that the Annex offered when I first stopped inside. While spending a morning here, I shopped around the market section and picked out a fresh garden salsa ($9.99) and cherry habanero jam ($9). Both were tasty, fresh, and possessed lively flavors. I also ordered an iced americano with cream ($4.50) to sip on. The drink was balanced but the espresso was a bit bitter when comparing it to other americanos I have drunk in the past--I am not sure I would order it again. However, the coffee and lattes I have tried in the past were all quality drinks. If I return, I will definitely be trying a menu food item. Seeing each order come out while waiting to checkout, made me regret not coming with an appetite! Their menu includes a variety of breakfast and lunch foods, such as croissants, quiches, sandwiches, wraps, toasts, and burritos. All of their foods boast fresh, quality ingredients. In addition, I would love to try one of their macaroons. They looked vibrant in the glass display, and the flavor selection was diverse. The market and checkout area is bustling, and the line can get quite long. However, it does move fast. Moreover, there is seating in the back area that remains a calm environment to get work done. In terms of service, my experiences have been average. The shop is very busy, so I understand the workers are likely overwhelmed. I have never had a poor experience with a member of their team but I have not had an overly positive experience either. The Annex Food and Coffee truly is a one-of-a-kind shop in the St. Louis area. If you do try it out, make sure you come with an appetite big enough for coffee, food, and dessert!

The Annex is a combination market/cafe/bakery/coffee shop that was very busy on the Saturday afternoon I visited, if it hadn't been a cold January day I would have sat on their covered patio out back. But I found a spot inside and the ambient noise was so loud, they could do with some white noise overhead or sound absorbing material on the walls and ceiling. The iced latte and selection of macarons I picked up were good, but hanging out there to enjoy them was not enjoyable due to the noise level.

Such a wonderful spot to grab a bite to eat or to grab some groceries/snack items for a night in. I loved the store section where they had so many unique items to choose from. I saw some of the best crackers, cheeses, nuts, honey, jams, chocolates, etc. that I can use when I make my next charcuterie board. I loved how they had lots of local items to choose from as well as some other items that are more nationally known. When I visited, I was just looking to grab a snack and a drink. I was so happy to see their seasonal items because anytime I see Ube on the menu, I must order it. The line to order form the pastry was not too long when my friend and I got in line, but within a few minutes, the line was much longer. I appreciated how they have a counter for pastry/coffee items and then other counter to order sandwiches/salads from. Their lunch menu looked so good but I had already eaten at that time of the day, so I just wanted a sweet treat! The girls working Behind the counter were so friendly and offered recommendations when I asked for a few. I was just really excited to try the Ube Jasmine Tea and the Ube cookie. They went perfectly together! The Annex does have some seating available to eat inside and some patio type seating in the back and they have 1-2 tables on the sidewalk out front. The parking lot behind the Annex is convenient and you can enter in through the back door rather than walking around to the front. I cannot wait to go back soon for lunch and to pick up some snacks for a picnic!

The ice cream was really good! The service was great and the person taking our order was very nice. It is a very chill place and has a great vibe!

If you have not tried The Annex in Webster Groves then you're missing out! Try out this super cute tea & coffee spot. This cafe offers more than just tea & coffee, you can find a cocktail menu, small bakery bites, whole cheesecake bites & the besttttt looking macaroons! I found also a cold food section where you can grab something on the go! I ordered the Black - Hugo Grey tea, it came out piping hot & super quick also! It was delicious I loved it. Right now they offer a winter coffee menu & I definitely regret not ordering someone off that menu. To order, you go up to the counter, put your order in & they give you a buzzer. When your order is ready your buzzer will go off & you grab your food & or drink! Check this cute cafe out! You will not regret.

This place isn't bad in terms of food and drink, pricey but not bad. However, I absolutely cannot stand that they are grilling and cooking food in the open without ANY proper hood ventilation. This means you will a) be breathing in all the smoke lingering in the air while you're inside, and b) stink of this place regardless of how long you're inside. Highly recommend they install a large hood fan for proper ventilation. It's really unpleasant and I feel bad for the employees who have to soak in that environment for hours on end.

Half Pint at the Annex An old-fashioned ice cream shop and candy store has moved into Webster Groves, and it's giving major motion picture vintage vibes! Vibrantly colored candy pops against white walls and a rich variety of Ronnie's Ice Cream fills the display case. A tasty little fun fact? I knew Ronnie's Ice Cream was local to STL (40 years strong), but what I didn't know is it's crafted in Crestwood! Half Pint has its own street entrance, but it can also be accessed from inside The Annex. Oh, and if you ever wake up craving ice cream for breakfast, just know this: Half Pint's door opens daily at 7:00 am!

Absolutely obsessed, enamored & riveted by The Annex Coffee Shop in Webster Groves! From the locally roasted coffee to the creative cocktails (I got the Hot Toddy) and The cozy atmosphere, heated patio, and the convenience of shopping for specialty foods make it a perfect all-in-one spot. Girls coffee date! Loved it!

I am obsessed with the Annex Coffee and Foods! They have so much to offer. From coffee drinks with an amazing menu, cocktails, food, desserts and tons of products like house made mustard, unique pasta sauces, chocolate bars and SO much more. We stopped in to get a pre dinner cocktail and we ordered the mimosa and the espresso martini. The martini was super unique with brown sugar and cinnamon syrup. It was like fall in a glass. I love the ambiance of the whole place. There is tons of seating inside and out.

The Annex Coffee and Foods has a really unique vibe with all their packaged goods spread throughout the store. There's more seating than it looks from outside and they have a great outdoor patio space. I got the Gravlox Toast and a 8 oz. seasonal Maple Cinnamon Latte. I thought the toast was delicious while the latte was average and on the pricier side. The store is little chaotic with three different counter areas and with people browsing the packaged goods, but the service was very friendly and efficient. It's a great location in Webster Groves and I'd recommend anyone considering to stop by!

A quaint shop located in the Webster Groves area. They have tons of local goodies that you can browse through and if you get your coffee to go, there's several cute boutiques you can peruse along the same strip. When I went it was very busy, but not an unbearable wait. Their breakfast burrito was tasty and I enjoyed their coffee as well. They have seating in the back of the store and there's a decent amount unless you come in when they're very busy. Not a bad spot for breakfast! It was a little noisy with how many people were there, but not too bad.

I will be back. I stopped in one morning when I had some time to kill before work and I am so happy I stopped by. This place is super cute and had good food as well as drinks. I got the match latte to drink and a breakfast burrito. The matcha was very good and I love the little design on top. The breakfast burrito was stuffed. It was flavorful and had a great dipping sauce. I also enjoyed while I waited for my food the shop area. I was able to walk around and look at the various local food and drink items! The seated area is also cute and I will have to come back with some friends. I also saw they have some cocktails and they sounds good so I'll have to try those too.

We stopped in for a quick coffee and a sweet treat. There are tons of local and small business treats & food items. We opted for the espresso honey caramels and, boy, did they take us on a journey. Sweet, rich, and healthy! Our coffees were perfect. And I'm not just saying that. I'm incredible picky about my iced coffee, and the blend they use is delightful. The flavors were perfectly blended with their house made syrups. I will definitely be back this summer!

Super friendly baristas helped me find the perfect drink, and the whole place has the cutest vibe. Their seasonal Ube tea tastes just like fruit loops haha, so good. I showed up too late to order hot food, but I grabbed a premade caesar wrap and it was delicious. I'm looking forward to coming back and checking out more from their menu and also shopping around a bit.

Absolutely love The Annex for so many different reasons. Great spot for a quick coffee and snack or hanging out for a light lunch. I love them most for their unique selection of goods and foods, an easy go to if needing a fun gift for someone or just wanting to indulge in something fun for yourself. Workers are always nice and the inside has a chic, vintage vibe. Love it here!
