The Aquincum Hotel Budapest

Overall, it is a good hotel. The hotel staff will treat you with respect and a smile. He had a very good breakfast. We had fun. It had a very good pool and jacuzzi. Our room was very nice and quiet. But the bathroom was not very clean. We paid 180 euros for a double night.

Well - I have arrived in the middle of the night after a long and delayed flight…. I did ask for a nice room with a nice view as I have planned to stay for 10d… unfortunately I have ended up on the 1st floor with a view to the parking lot. No balcony… Hotel needs definitely a make over… it‘s used and needs to be renovated. Staff is very friendly and I haven’t tried facilities and breakfast as I have changed the hotel after 2 nights. The area is not so central (but I didn’t deduct points for that)….

Our overall experience was not so bad but there is room for improvement. The thermal baths and the gym are really nice and the coffee ☕️was good. The view of the Danube is also pleasant and the hotel is in an excellent location close to public transport 🚋 that quickly takes you to the city center and popular touristic destinations. The worst part of our stay was the fact that there was a Latin music “party”/dance event going on on the -1 level of the hotel which kept us awake all night during the first night of our stay. We heard loud music thumping underneath us from 11:30 pm until 6 o’clock in the morning!! When we booked our room, there was no mention of such an event, and we were also not informed of this event during our check-in. But, the next day, after mentioning this, the staff kindly offered to change our room and placed us in the quietest part of the hotel. We in fact, were able to have a good night’s rest during our second/final night. In terms of cleanliness, the rooms had some markings on the wall sand on the curtains 💋, a the toilet brushes were in suboptimal conditions, and paint was peeling from the bathroom ceiling since there is no ventilation to remove humidity in the bathroom. Furthermore, there is no proper shower door (only a half glass panel on the bathtub) so it is guaranteed you’ll create a small lake in your bathroom while taking a shower (see picture). Also, both showers did not drain the water properly. In general, this is a shame because the hotel has the potential to be truly “⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”, but what is missing is overall cleanliness and attention to details.

This marked my second visit to Aquincum Hotel, and regrettably, I have observed a decline in the overall experience. The demeanor of the staff has been notably impolite, lacking the expected level of friendliness. Services provided have been subpar and cleanliness standards have not been met. I would recommend seeking alternative accommodation if your stay exceeds one night.

Hotel is very nice and very clean. Rooms are tidy and stylish. Hotel has 3 pools with different water temperature. From 38°C to 27°C, so everybody can select the right one for his relax. Thera are also steam saunas and finish and infrared sauna, unfortunately during our short weekend stay, only one steam was in order. Others were closed. Location of hotel is very close to public transportation, which is very comfortable for traveling into city center.

The service and food at the River Bar was excellent! Daniel and his team are doing a great job taking care of their guests. It all feels very warm and welcoming. I got one of the best Gulasch I had ever had. Thank you!

This review is way overdue. We stayed here for two nights during the 120th Anniversary celebration of Harley Davidson Motorcycles. The staff was very professional and courteous. The room was great. The food was very tasty. There was a small issue at the beginning of our stay but the staff resolved it quickly in a very satisfactory manner. Highly recommend this place.

This is a nice hotel located close to public transportation and not too far from the castle area, city center, and across from the Danube River. The pool looks amazing. The bar was a nice place to grab a drink after sightseeing all day. Our room was clean and adequate with a queen bed, small refrigerator, and TV. Interestingly, for an Americans, no real comforter on the bed. Instead, there were 2 small duvet covers made from lunen like sheets. They were thincker than sheets but thinner than a blanket. Worked perfectly. We didn't need the air conditioning, we just opened the windows and it was perfect. Breakfast was really good. There were a lot of selections from the buffet, which we appreciated. The bed was comfortable and the water in the bathroom got HOT with good pressure. We did not use the spa, but the prices looked great, and staying open until 10pm was great! If we're back in Budapest, we will stay again!
