On the Grid : The Arcade

"Delicately tucked between 4th and 5th ave is the one and only Nashville Arcade. Built in 1902, this historic spot was Nashville’s first covered shopping center. Today it’s home to an eclectic group of shops, restaurants and galleries humming with the buzz of downtown Nashville. There’s no shortage of food choices, you can get your shoes shined and even leave with a sharp new haircut. With just enough quirk to make you feel like a local, The Arcade is a downtown must." - FoxFuel Creative

We received a free bag of Nashville Nut from the famous Peanut Shop in the Arcade. These peanuts were delicious! Please visit all of the shops in the Arcade! This beautiful arcade is in the quieter area of the city just a walk away from the manic Broadway Street. Buy a gift pack of nuts for family and friends. You won’t be disappointed!

It’s very beautiful less crowded during day. You can sit and enjoy time with friends.

this place used to be the heart and soul of downtown. now its just another tourist trap to take your money. every store sells almost identical merchandise. no chinese food, no chicken place, no hotdog place. they even got rid of the post office. there is a bagel shop and a bar with a pizza place but not as good as the old one. varallo's the oldest restaurant in tennessee is right outside the arcade is the best thing about the place. if your looking for overvalued cowboy hats and boots this is your spot.

The arcades are very cozy and beautiful, but I only gave them four stars because so many formerly good shops are empty.

Really three and a half stars. Three and a half because the first time I went they were closed. They have wierd hours and are closed Sundays. As others have posted there are many shops closed. The upstairs art galleries were nice to walk by. The view upstairs is nice also from the balcony, but it was HOT. The few restaurants and the Walgreens were about what we expected. Sadly the peanut store didn't survive the pandemic. It was nice to see it once, it was worth the trip. Keep in mind they don't have a actual restroom for the arcade. We had to borrow a key from one restaurant to use the employee bathrooms, which were clean. Also do your research on their hours as they do close early.

This is an awesome place, a collection of store fronts in a safe place to walk through. It's well lit and the walk through is spacious. Unfortunately it's mostly empty, windows are blocked out, and store fronts mostly ghost towns. The Peanut Shop is still there and looks like it takes you back in time. There was a bagel shop open when we went through as well. But that's about it. Could be an awesome place to eat, father, shop. I hope it will be again soon.

Unique downtown shopping experience. Be sure to go upstairs to the second floor for a great vantage point for people-watching, especially at lunch time weekdays.

Most was closed due to COVID. Really cool (albeit small) little street with a lot of entertainment within. It's mostly shopping. Check out the candy shop... the woman who works there is an absolute sweetheart. A man asked me to have a drink from my water. Naturally, I let him.
