A World Tour of Amazing Arches

"Mexico’s Baja California is the second-longest peninsula in the world and helps form the Gulf of California, one of the most biologically diverse seas on the planet. And they both terminate in the picturesque Arch of Cabo San Lucas. Hugged by the Playa del Amor on the gulf side and the Playa del Divorcio on the ocean side, the limestone arch—known locally, and appropriately, as El Arco—was carved over millennia by the same winds and potent tidal forces that make swimming on the latter a potentially lethal and thus decidedly ill-advised proposition. The arch provides an attractive photo destination for visitors to nearby Cabo San Lucas. It also serves as a popular hangout for sea lions, who congregated at the spot long before Cabo became a whole thing. Inaccessible by land, those keen to visit this tasteful piece of organic architecture should hail a boat taxi in Cabo San Lucas Marina and say, “Take me to Land’s End, please!,” which is another name for it. It has multiple names, but whichever one you choose, people will know what you’re talking about: that place where the land ends, in an “el arco,” near Cabo San Lucas." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

We had the best time exploring this place. This was certainly a highlight of our trip here. We did the private boat trip, and the tour guide was very knowledgeable about this area and surrounding area as well. The boat was equipped with life vests and the boat seemed new and clean. Would and recommend going for this experience. You’ll enjoy your time here!

Simply amazing, especially at sunset! Fish jumping everywhere. Pick your tour carefully through. Booze cruise party? Quiet dinner cruise? Lots of options here.

This place is magical Got to see jumping rays and sea lions It was beyond romantic... if you have the option, GO! Did a sunset cruise with Eco Cat catamaran and was not disappointed at all! It was probably a sight and night I will never ever forget!

Definitely worth taking the time to see the Arch up close in person when you visit Cabo! We went on two excursions that took us right by the Arch! Such a lovely sight from the water, especially at sunset! We went at the beginning of May and it wasn't too crowded, we were easily able to get great pics without other boats and people in the photos. There are excursions where you can actually enjoy the beaches near the Arch as well. We went on a dinner cruise as well as a wine and jazz sunset Cruise, the sites were absolutely beautiful! We enjoyed both of our experiences but I know there are so many others out there too!

We went here on a glass bottom boat ride and got to sail on both the sea and Cortez side and the Pacific Ocean side. It was amazing! On the Pacific Ocean side is a big beach where they filmed the original planet of the apes from the 1960s where the Statue of Liberty Head was on the beach.

For me personally, you see this place on TV and in the movies and you say …wow that’s beautiful but I’ll probably never see it in person. Well we did it! I got to take my wife here on Mother’s Day. We went out on a catamaran called Cabo Blue ( Which I highly recommend if you like upbeat vibes ) on a somewhat rough afternoon. The boat captain explained how he was going to route our trip a little differently to avoid the choppiness and guaranteed everyone would get nice views of these majestic arches. We spent about an hour circling which is way more than enough and got to see them at different light levels. I would definitely take another trip out there if ever in Cabo again.

Visiting the Arch (El Arco) in Cabo San Lucas was absolutely breathtaking. The rock formation itself is stunning, rising majestically where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean. The water is incredibly clear and vibrant, with beautiful shades of turquoise and deep blue. Along the way, we saw amazing marine life sea lions lounging on the rocks and tropical fish swimming beneath the surface. It’s truly a picture-perfect, must see spot that captures the raw beauty of Cabo. Stunningly gorgeous and unforgettable!

The Arch of Cabo San Lucas is absolutely stunning! The rocks look like they’ve been smoothed by the ocean for centuries — truly a unique and beautiful sight. If you’re up for an adventure and feel physically strong, there’s an amazing hike that takes you all the way to the Arch on foot! It was an unforgettable experience for us. We started from the Marina, walked toward the Solmar hotel, and kindly asked the security guard to access the beach (note: this beach is not safe for swimming!). From there, we walked along the shore until we reached a section with lots of rocks. We climbed up and over them — it was a bit challenging, but so worth it. Eventually, we reached a small shaded beach where we waited out the peak heat under the cliffs. Then we continued climbing and finally made it to Lovers Beach and The Arch. If hiking isn’t for you, no worries — you can take a water taxi from the Marina for about $10-15. Either way, you won’t regret visiting this breathtaking place!
