10 Kinds Of Breakfast Meetings And Where To Have Them

"PERFECT FOR: BREAKFAST WITH YOUR STARTUP FRIEND WHO JUST MOVED THEIR OFFICE TO DUMBO || This list is admittedly Manhattan (and even Midtown) heavy, because that's frankly where most offices are. If business brings you to meet up with someone who's working out of a DUMBO loft, this is a solid spot with a mix of breakfast options, from house-cured gravlox to avocado toast. You'll also probably be depressed after you get back to your Midtown cube. (Sorry.)" - hillary reinsberg

TL,DR: food not as advertised, and over priced drinks My partner and I were having a late lunch and we were excited to see that they had impossible burgers, the food came out quickly in the 3mins I stepped out side. I order and double cheeseburger and an impossible burger, unfortunately, when my partner and I sat down at the park to eat our burgers, they opened theirs to see it was a veggie patty, not impossible, a veggie patty. We were not told that it wasn’t an impossible burger, even though it is labeled impossible burger on the menu. Do not claim you have one thing when it’s really another my partner does not like that paddies is the whole reason why we stopped there because they had something we could both eat or at least we thought so, they ate it anyway, but we’re not satisfied. Also we were charged $6.95 for a small bottle of ginger ale.

If I could leave a zero star review, I would. Easily the worst restaurant in terms of food quality that I’ve ever had in New York. If I were you, I’d look in the bin of a McDonald’s and eat it rather than eating a frozen meatball sandwich, a kale salad with no dressing or truffle fries with no truffle. This place should really be ashamed of itself.

We were out and about early on a Sunday morning and this was one of the few places that were open. The vibe seemed like it would be nice but coffee and food were nothing spectacular. The baked eggs were not what I was expecting at all, and seemed overcooked.

Google
This review is for the new hamburger restaurant that they opened up in this space. I have such mixed feelings about this place. On the one hand I do like their cheeseburgers a lot and its basically impossible in this area to find a cheaper burger (6.50$ here). On the other hand, the service is really strange here. They make you pay up front and then give you the tip options… so you feel pressured to leave something for them before you even get the food. The food comes out very fast. But they give it to you in a paper bag and when I asked for plates (I sat inside at a table) the waitress said they dont have any plates. Then I asked her for a napkin and she pointed over to the bar and said theyre over there… I literally had to ask her to please just bring me the napkins… also she didn’t give me any water until I asked for it. Bizarre service , but the food is good and comes out fast. I think 3 stars overall is fair. They really need to think about what their goal with this place is though as far as service goes. And making people pay upfront for their food including leaving a tip upfront is really strange because its not a fast food restaurant like shake shack or the taco place nearby. Its marketed as a sit down restaurant with plenty of seating…

Our bartender was very nice and helpful. We just had drinks but it was a nice bar with good music playing.

Stopped by for a small bite with a friend as it was one of the few places open Thursday night. Ordered an apple pie which seemed prepackaged and microwaved lol, the cappuccino was fine (as someone who doesn't know much about coffee). Friend seemed to like his pulled pork sandwich. Place was nice, though music was a little too loud for conversing. Overall, fine - I didn't have high expectations coming in anyways, though I probably wouldn't return.

Google
This is the WORST customer experience I’ve ever had in the country. Look for the guy in his mid 50s running the register at the bar, I’m more than certain that he’s the owner. My husband and I were kicked out because we took more than 3 minutes to made our minds about what we wanted to order. PLEASE, do your self a favor and AVOID this place like the plague. It’s places like this that make our beautiful city look rude and hostile. They don’t deserve to be in business and most definitely they don’t deserve your money. Look anywhere else.

Selim Sevinc

Google
Worst place you can find. You realize it is a tourist trap when you read the latest reviews. All the 4/5 star reviews are very old. I assume the owner changed recently. Careful!!!!

Yelp
I went here based on a sandwich board sign I was craving a burger I actually wasn't sure . Lol I ordered loaded fries to go. I asked for the burger sauce on the side. Oh boy it smelled good but it looked look how I expected . What a joke! ‍ I received over coked greasy fries a burger placed on top and cheese . Oh well I didn't finish it Oh well I should read the reviews first because look what the supposed manager wrote in response in the picture below. I don't know anything about a complex by the way and I am higher than VIP. I can definitely find better loaded fries at home or at many other places.

Yelp
If I could give them no stars I would. I went in to eat and asked if this bartender if he could tell me where the restroom was first. (For context, there was only one person in the restaurant at the bar. ONE.) He tells me I would have to pay first. I hadn't even got a chance to order food! Pay for what?! I asked him, " Why do I need to pay before ordering food? That doesn't make any sense." He repeated himself. Mind you, I've never been here before. I had just had a long drive into the city. I was dressed nicely ( didn't look as if I'd be loitering) and I asked politely just to be directed as to where the restroom was prior to ordering. I don't care about any excuse.. it's policy... blah blah blah. If someone comes in and asks for the restroom and says they're ordering but needs to be directed to the restroom prior to doing so, it's is absolutely rude to be told you need to pay money before being able to pee! What is wrong with you?! Are they that hard up for money? Even if someone just wanted to use the restroom, why would you not allow someone to do so? Kindness is remembered. Unfortunately for them, so is rudeness. I can definitely see why they are rated only 3 stars. I wonder who was merciful enough to give them that! This place is a joke and the service is horrible. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Yelp
Horrible horrible horrible. I will never give this place my money. We waited 15 mins for someone to notice us and seat us/clean the table off from the last customers. No one comes to take your order. They want you to order at the bar, but they don't tell you that upfront. They have no bathrooms for their customers and one of their employees was extremely creepy and stared at my chest the entire time he was talking to me. Avoid at all costs!

Patricia O.

Yelp
Bartender extremely RUDE! Paid $39 for two burgers and one order of fries and two cans of Diet Coke. Beware: a can of Diet Coke is $6.90! On the way out, I asked for a little more ice for my plastic cup and the Bartender replied "no we don't have". Clearly he had because he was preparing drinks. Don't go here -- extremely rude.

Yelp
DONT WALK IN HERE. Service is horrible, owner is a piece of shit - they served our coffees in to go cups so we would leave even though we sat at the bar. The coffees sucked anyways. They also opened the door so all the cold would come in and prompt us to leave. A family walked in and the owner did not let them get 5 steps in before throwing them out back into the cold. Told them they needed to wait 25 mins outside even though the restaurant was empty.

Yelp
After checking out nearby Brooklyn Flea, a friend and I did indoor dining here. I was pleasantly surprised to see how diverse the menu was. Inside, it was spacious and cozy. There were pretty lit up wreaths and the place boasted 2 levels. We sat towards the back of the restaurant. I initially ordered a brunch item, but then I noticed that they had plates, which came with 2 market vegetables, so I went for that. I chose the Roasted Filet of Salmon ($14), along with green peas and bacon, as well as zucchini with cherry tomato and feta. The meal tasted very basic. The salmon was served with the skin side up, which I found to be a little strange. It looked much better flipped over. It was a decent sized piece and quite tender with nice seasoning. The peas and bacon were pretty good. I enjoyed the crispiness of the bacon and the fresh taste of the peas. The zucchini was just okay. It came with tomatoes, but no feta cheese. Our waiter brought some feta cheese for me to add to it. I would have preferred the zucchini, tomatoes, and feta cheese to be cooked together. The veggies in general were a little oily and not all that flavorful. Service was great, but I wasn't really impressed with the food, so will not be returning.

Chastity J.

Yelp
racist staff, I'm straight to the point.i wasn't looked at or even approached. I've never dealt with ppl like the 2 young men that work on weeks day. and i am Brooklyn born girly. Im making a point to share this not just you all but all of my friends.

James M.

Yelp
These pricks threw away something we left behind 5 minutes after we left. When we returned they told us to go to hell. Service is lousy too. Don't go here after the flea market, they'll either steal or throw away your finds.

Sylvaine F.

Yelp
Worse service... ever!!!! Rude , paid $7.50 for seltzer water!!! Was told that I could not eat outdoors unless we brought lunch while other patrons were obviously only drinking coffee... and their bathroom was "under renovation" ... all that because they assumed we were tourists .... Stay way from that place. Would put 0 star if I could

Yelp
Service staff (Artur) was inattentive and dismissive at best. Gluten-free options on menu were not available, so restaurant substituted for a salad ($14) but still charged the item as a gluten-free pizza ($28). Would not visit again and would not recommend to anyone wanting a decent Italian meal (or restaurant experience in-general).

Yelp
Purchased: Sausage Egg & Cheese on Brioche Cost: $11 Impression: The chorizo chosen for the sausage was the bomb. The brioche buns were incredibly crispy (please see photo). The eggs prepared for the sandwich had that warm yolk that was just right, not too runny and not too cooked. Would I recommend the breakfast 'wich? Yes, absolutely

Yelp
Needed to use a restroom but also was in desperate need of coffee. As I walked in, a male with short curly hair followed me in and asked if I needed something. I asked if I purchased coffee, if I could use their restroom. He said no, only cocktails. A group a females walked in after me and asked if they sold coffee or tea and needed to use the restroom. He said they do sell coffee and tea. I was confused but walked to get the menu. Saw they had different coffee options in the menu and I saw there was an espresso machine. Mostly all the females left as one of the girls walked to the restroom. He told her he needed to order first. She said she would after she left the restroom. Her friend was sitting at the bar waiting for her and told her she needed to wait outside (the place was not crowded at all). As I begin to order an iced macchiato, he looks at me, takes the menu, tells me it's too much work to make it, and walks away. Can't even taste any of their menu options to give an accurate review. But customer service was atrocious! Went to Em Vietnamese Restaurant right down the road and had the best Vietnamese coffee! They brought it out before I even finished with the check! Check them out!

Yelp
What is with all the hatred for Archway from Yelpers? The usual gripe is terrible service and terrible people. I encountered nothing but charming people from all over the world who served food expeditiously and made wonderful conversation. * * * Now I do have one gripe with Archway - But other than my one gripe - this is a great place. Spoiler alert - Avoid the baked goods. And I am quite literal about the term "Spoiler Alert". I was given two servings of banana bread that were actually moldy. The first slice had the mold right on top where everyone could see it. The second slice had a smaller mold, but it was on the bottom where you could only see it if you flipped it. I don't think anyone was trying to trick me here. But I do think they could have inspected the second sample a little more closely knowing there were issues with the first sample. * * * So if I was served moldy food, Why isn't this a one star review with a giant warning to the public? a) I strongly suspect their baked desserts are out-sourced. This means I think they were done in by their supplier. Most baked desserts in coffee shops and cafes are out-sourced. So I don't think they even imagined this would be a problem when they initially received their shipment. In my opinion, Archway has a major bone to pick with their baked goods supplier. b) Everything else we had was totally magnificent. This is a Yuppie cafe with a strong play for the female market. This means you gotta have a lot of light cuisine and a lot of vegetables. These have to be wonderfully cooked and served in a pretty place. The Archway cafe is pretty enough. I had an eggplant parmesan with no breading on the eggplant that was absolutely to beat the band. Eggplant parmesan is a much abused dish in mediocre Italian restaurants and so-so diners. This was fresh decent eating. It was accompanied by a wonderful field green salad. I am a red meat eating guy who vastly prefers a big juicy burger to field greens. These were great field greens. The other side was snow peas with sesame oil and garlic. This garlic was minimally cooked. It was more like "dipped in hot oil" in the saute pan and then served. It played off the sesame oil beautifully, and took snow peas which are usually boring as hell - and gave them some real life and interest. I was impressed. My wife had baked eggs with caramelized onions. I never met a caramelized onion I didn't like. But these were particularly nice. * * * So overall, my wife and I ate like kings and queens. And I am quite literal about the term "kings and queens". Kings and queens keep tasters on their staff for the off chance that someone has poisoned their food. The baked goods here are absolutely not to be trusted. The vegetables prepared in their own kitchen are lovely.

Yelp
Not a good restaurant . Me and my mom were starving and craving a yummy breakfast with home fries, eggs, Bacon ect. So I looked up on google and found this place. Their pictures looked promising as well as their menu they showed online, so we went there. I should've taken the first red flag when we were looking for the restaurant and signs on the street were pointing the OPPOSITE direction. When we finally found the restaurant, it seemed very empty inside and the waiters seemed very awkward (second red flag). We sit down and are given a menu that looks nothing like the one I saw online and instead says " Love and Dough". So I do some research and find out that Love and Dough is a pizza restaurant 2 stores down from this one. And I ask about this and the waiter says, yes this place is run by the same person. So we sit there in confusion and just end up ordering a pasta and a burger because at that point we were too hungry to leave and find another place. My mom enjoyed her burger which is why I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of 1. However my pasta (pesto pasta) was horrible! How can you mess up pasta! And I actually remember telling my mom how the 2 people around us didn't finish their pasta plate and how they were wrong for waisting food. However when I got my pasta plate I didn't blame them because I couldn't even finish my plate. After we finished our meal we asked the waiter about this weird menu situation and when we asked, he was like.."yea this location shares a menu now with the Italian pizza shop down the street, but the drinks at the bar are from the old archway menu". Then my mom asked them why come they still have their old menu up, and why they should take it down because it's advertising wrong information. And they responded saying "yes we will take that into consideration" . mind you it been a year since they changed their menu... it's such a shame because they're old menu looks delicious . Also, lastly when my mom went downstairs to use the restroom she said the kitchen was dead and looked not in use, meaning they were using the pizza restaurants kitchen which made sense because we were wondering why our food was being served from outside while it was drizzling !! Very unhappy experience. Don't waste your time here.

Yelp
This is a review for their delivery service only, I haven't been in person to their cafe. Ordered their mushroom toast and an oatmeal cookie. Came within 45 minutes, food was warm but not hot. I asked for scrambled eggs but got a fried egg instead. NBD. The sautéed mushrooms with spinach was nice and creamy, the salad was very tasty, the potatoes had a nice crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The oatmeal cookie had just enough sweetness to savor in your mouth but not overwhelming sweet. Kind of like a grandma cookie. Definitely a plus if you're ordering for delivery! Hopefully will get to try this place in person.

Yelp
I am downgrading this. Come to think of it, if you return to a place and the cook and service change, what good is your first review? The owner at first did not want to give me a table when it was not crowded. he took too long to review my vaccine card and identification card. He made a motion later to an unprofessional, haughty waitress like who cares about me. This waitress and to a lesser extent a young man, who fixed his attitude later, were lackadaisical. A man, who had sat near me, commented to her to bring me water (finally)" and some butter as he was leaving. I did ask for extra bread and was charged $3. I asked for a poached egg and spinach that were not on the menu and the customer, who is a retired chef teacher, said they'd make it. They did not make it. The coffee, at about seven dollars, is not worth it, and there are no refills. The cheesecake is good but at $12, when you can get the same big piece at a diner, and get coffee refills and service with no attitude, are not worth it. I left $0 tip, was deserved. They probably lost me as a customer.

Yelp
I had a meeting in the neighborhood and this looked like a good place to meet up with a colleague beforehand for a little prep. The place was empty. I ordered a tea. When I pulled out my laptop to review notes I was told there were no outlets in the restaurant for customers, intentionally. Not unusual for a cafe to discourage use of laptops but there was a weird level of aggression from the server. When we left, the server charged me $7.40 for the cup of tea, which was Twinings. I paid with card and then later looked up that tea on their menu is listed at $3. I had to submit a request for the difference to be credited back to my account. This is my first time reviewing a restaurant but honestly it was a comically bad experience. I've lived in Brooklyn for eleven years and never had to deal with someone overcharging me on a sad power trip. Mind blowing that this place is capable of doing any business in this city.

Yelp
DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!!! METAL BOLT FOUND IN FOOD!!!!!!!! DISGUSTING RESTAURANT!!!! THE OWNER FLIPPED HIS MIDDLE FINGER AT ME AFTER I SHOWED PHOTOS OF THE METAL IN FOOD! This restaurant is beyond terrible and pending investigation from the Department of Health with a Food Safety Violation. After explaining to the owner that there was a metal bolt lodged in my food he proceeded to tell me that the photo I showed was fake and he would not refund me or give me another sandwich. His reasoning? Because it happened several days prior. I am a working professional with a 9-5, my own company and I travel very often. I didn't have the time to return to this restaurant immediately. He greeted me VERY rudely with disbelief and called me a liar and claimed I was trying to get over on him. As someone who has ZERO time to even consider doing such a thing this was very ridiculous. His righteousness will be the downfall of this poorly managed restaurant. (That does in fact have METAL OBJECTS lodged in its food) This restaurant is trash and do not ever eat here. (or risk your health)

Yelp
I used to work around the corner from this place and developed a love/hate relationship with it. The pulled chicken sandwich is delicious. Tender, succulent, packed with flavor. The ciabatta is perfectly toasted. They also had a veggie plate that I ordered whenever I wanted to pretend I was going to start eating healthy. The coffee was a disaster, just go to Blue Bottle or (gasp) even Starbucks. Now for the hate: the owner is the most unpleasant human being I've ever met. He has no customer service skills, so why he even bothered to open a business that put him in direct contact with human beings is a mystery. I saw him scream at employees, dismiss customers' questions, and get defensive at the most innocuous requests. The bathroom situation was also super strange. I was allowed to use it one day and the next I was told they didn't have one.

Yelp
Bad place Bad service Overpriced Dirty kitchen Fake online menu I would not recommend you go here unless you have no other option

Yelp
Mushrooms! Wow. That's what I'm getting next time. You can order a small plate of one vegetable for $7, or four veggies for $16. The mushrooms are delicious, and the asparagus is pretty good too. Spinach pie is a bit heavy on the butter. In addition to all of the vegetables, they have a full menu of breakfasts, all egg based, some gluten free. Many vegetarian options. Try the juices. There's also a lunch menu of mostly salads, sandwiches and burgers. Prices are what you'd expect for dumbo. The espresso coffee is excellent but slightly overpriced, you can find plenty of cheaper coffee in easy walking distance. There's indoor and outdoor seating, and the outdoor seating is actually outdoors, not in one of those walled in areas that are popping up everywhere. Umbrellas keep off the rain. Staff wear masks. I was worried about the service because there are so many negative comments here, but the staff were all very nice to us and the service was fast. One thing, because you're right by the bridge, it's VERY LOUD with the subway going by constantly. So maybe not a place for deep conversations...
google avatar

Jen P.

Yelp
Had brunch here a couple Sundays ago with a friend after the DUMBO flea market. She had been here before for coffee and sandwiches and enjoyed it, but had never gone for brunch. Food was delicious! She ordered a Mediterranean salad dish with eggs and bread and ate every morsel. The portion was good sized and the combo of veggies with the salad greens and eggs worked well. I had the house made gravlax and was super impressed with how much salmon I got. It seemed like as much as you get if you buy one of those packets of smoked salmon in the market which is meant for multiple people! The dish was served with the most delectable creamy savory scrambled eggs I have ever had in a restaurant, plus I got toast, sour cream with capers and chopped onions. Scrumptious! This place also makes fresh juice and I got a glass. It was also awesome! The only down side was that their one and only bathroom was out of order, and though they had an arrangement with the restaurant down the street on the corner so patrons could use those facilities, that place was also busy and also only had one bathroom, so the line was super long. Anyway, I am sure they will fix the toilet at some point....til then the food is definitely worth your time!

Yelp
Not amazing, not terrible! Had the mushroom toast and baked eggs; both homey foods and very filling. Eggs were a tad watery and seemed like just a scramble and the toast was a little sloppy looking but tasted good. Coffee was mediocre for the area.

Madison P.

Yelp
Manager/owner was absolutely horrible. He made us feel so uncomfortable and shoved raw fish in my friends face. The waiter was very nice but it was clear all the other team members are scared of him. I wish could give this place 0 stars.
google avatar

Viren G.

Yelp
Pretty decent cafe. I usually order take out from here. For then area this is one that has a good amount of healthy, "clean" (not that greasy), fresh options. I only knock off the stars because their delivery service is very inconsistent. Sometimes they are quick but usually they are late! Ps - try their roasted squash, peas with bacon and salmon So gooood.
google avatar

Kenny C.

Yelp
Reading their menu, they seem like a cheaper version of Westville (yes, I know Archway was in DUMBO first). They have protein and market veggie platters, sandwiches, and soups. I went with the soup and half sandwich deal ($13 + tax). You have to call them to find out what the daily soups are, which kinda sucks when you just want to order online really quickly. Soup of the day was a vegetable dumpling soup (tomato based), which wasn't the greatest. But it was a cold winter day, and it was a good portion. For my half sandwich, I did the rotisserie chicken with pesto. A little on the dry side, but it was otherwise fine. Nothing remarkable. Service for pickup was quick (like 5-10 minutes). I'd stop by again for a quick lunch.

Yelp
2,5 stars ! My brother used to have an office on Jay Street and he said he had been to this place before and it was okay so even though the Yelp reviews were low, we wanted to give a chance. We put the prejudice aside and started to check the menu. I should say, the way menu looks and the explanations are promising. I ordered the mushroom toast and a latte which is a criteria for me to rate a place especially who serves breakfast and brunch. Their breakfast menu is until 4 PM. We got there at 3 PM. My husband and brother ordered sandwiches and friend got eggs with some bacon, cheddar cheese and mushrooms. As for the drinks, hubby got chai tea latte, brother fresh orange juice, friend early grey tea. I should say, one of the "not latte like lattes" I got. More like warm milk with some cheap espresso or maybe regular coffee. Chai tea latte had tea bags inside. Fresh orange juice was probably Tropicana. I would rate the drinks 1 star. Service on the contrary was very attentive and kind. All orders were taken correctly and served within a reasonable period of time. I enjoyed my mushroom toast. Side bread was also good. Rest of the group were also happy with their food. We got the check with 20% service charge included. WHY? I can not remember if the menu states that but even if it does, come on guys, are we a group or tourists? I am afraid they think people will not tip due to their ratings but I suggest them to remove the service charge and find a barista, better cups for drinks and real espresso.

Yelp
First time. Got the smoked salmon sandwhich - it comes on a ciabatta bread with cream cheese tomato and greens. I prefer bagels and lox the traditional way but this was really good! Will come back to try more. Of course it's pricey...but typical for dumbo

Sophie P.

Yelp
Overpriced and with very rude staff. Would not recommend. The coffee was average if not a little burned.
google avatar

Allana D.

Yelp
Unfortunately, the word of the day here was mediocre. My scone was spongy and bland and my tea was bland. My husband said the same about his latte and chocolate croissant. Only thing not mediocre here was the friendly service and cozy interior that lured us in-over all not the worst way to spend a half hour of my life but I'd rather enjoy my food a little (lot) more.

Yelp
My favorite place in DUMBO brooklyn! My friends and I came here to enjoy brunch. I started off with a fresh carrot juice, which was delicious. I ordered the mushroom with potato toast. It was good! my friend liked mine more than her avocado toast, but the avocado toast was my fav. They put a lot of avocado on it, and it kinda tastes citrusy with scrambled eggs on top. It is mouth watering. The servers here are super friendly as well. This will be my go to breakfast place whenever i come back.

Andreinna M.

Yelp
The drinks here are so refreshing and it is a great place to go after hitting up the Brooklyn Flea! The staff is very friendly and there's ample indoor and outdoor seating with two levels of seating inside.

Yelp
Nice little place to stop in for lunch. They have a very laid back vibe and they do a bit of everything, coffee, lunch, dinner and drinks. Their menu is on the healthier side but it has variety. There is a soup + sandwich or salad special at lunch. I chose the portobello salad, which was flavorful but light. The marinated portobello mushrooms were soft and satisfying. The fresh greens were tossed in a light pesto dressing with a nice dollop of fresh ricotta and a surprise stuffed grape leaf on top. My dad ordered the salmon burger which was a nice size and came with a small side salad.

Yelp
Really yummy and great service! Came in for a quick bite and was thoroughly pleased :)

Yelp
Sometimes a guy really needs coffee and sometimes he really wants an iced latte and his friend needs a strong shot of espresso. When I walked by I noticed that Archway Cafe had an espresso machine and a barista so this seemed like a match made in heaven. Alas, it was not. The people working the front struggled with an order consisting of 1 large iced vanilla latte with an extra shot and 1 espresso to go. When they finally figured out how to make this very complex order my friend stated that espresso was weak and watered down. As for my latte, it seemed to have no espresso in it and I'm positive I didn't get my extra shot. The cost for this debacle was $9. There is better coffee in the area seek it out.

Yelp
At first I was shocked to see a 2 1/2 star rating but now I get it... Ordered an overprice half soup, half salad. The chef double/ triple wrapped the soup container in plastic wrap to make sure it didn't spill. Great but then it look me almost 5 minutes to unwrap the soup without making a mess. Even being careful the soup slipped u from my hands and spilled all over my phone and work desk! I called Archway explaining what happened hoping there would be some compassion to get a new soup (since I just left that place). I got such a rude response about how they're not going to pay for a soup I spilled. Ugh EFF THAT!!! There are so many places around DUMBO to get better tasting and better priced soups! I only came here because I like to be loyal to my neighborhood restaurants and cafes! NEVER COMINGG BACK AGAIN AND NEITHER ARE MY COWORKERS.

Yelp
Came here to escape my own hangriness after spending a whole afternoon at the Brooklyn Flea. The plain-ish storefront doesn't do justice to how chic and hip and refreshing this place feels once you walk inside! I shared a market vegetable platter and every bite of vegetable was juicy and perfect. I'm quite a veggiephile so I always appreciate when vegetables are presented at their full glory, and this place did quite well!

Yelp
Delicious breakfast or lunch spot in otherwise bleak DUMBO. Service can be a little slow, but the prosciutto sandwich, tasty coffee, and salad options make up for it. Take an espresso to go after!

Yelp
Was told I couldn't use the bathroom unless I dined in. Getting coffee or take out wouldn't be good enough. Ree-dic-u-lous. A customer is a customer is a customer.

Yelp
If I could give it no stars I would. I should have read the reviews before eating there. We spoke to the manager before we sat and asked if the options could be altered because my mother could not eat certain foods. He assured us several times we would be accommodated. YEAH RIGHT! Our server was all over the place, she did not alter the menu at all when we spoke to both of them as to what was said they both simply ignored us. The food that came out was gross and also gave my mother an upset stomach that lasted two days. She literally could not eat anything for 2 days after that. A HUGE WASTE OF MONEY. DO NOT EAT THERE.

Yelp
"Please do not flush toilet paper down the toilet." This is a real thing. It is a sign they hang on the single, small, unisex, closet sized bathroom in this place. How cool is that? I'm going to print out copies of this sign and hang them up all over the city. Garbage day will be the worst! My buddy and I went to Archway for the coffee. I think I tried the Dumbo Mocha. It tasted like mocha, but in an I be done seen 'bout everything way. The only way I'm giving a coffee shop less than four stars is if they give me decaf. But if that ever happens I will set fire to the Internet. I was going to skip reviewing this place because I don't usually review coffee shops, since coffee is coffee. But then I saw all the other bad reviews and since Dumbo is turning into a hipster town I can now say that I liked Archway Cafe before it was cool.

Yelp
Food was really great (prosciutto and mozzarella pesto sandwich) as was the Cortado. I was a little confused about how to get served when it was slow in there as I ordered at the bar and then sat but saw other people being seated by a hostess. Draws a great lunch crowd and is in a good location. Biggest issue I had was that they didn't share their WiFi password. The service in this area seemed really slow and I really wanted to try and get some work done but was not able to.

Yelp
The food overall was good but the service was terribles at the end we paid for our food but then they decided to give a 20% tip without telling us in advance and then they had the nerve to tell us it's because they thought we were tourist which is completely unacceptable and then they told us to get out because they thought we were making scene never coming back again

Yelp
$8 iced tea. Terrible, rude service. Doesn't seem particularly clean. Enough said. Also, iced tea sucks.

Yelp
What a joke this place is! So I go in to get a brownie to take out and for $4.50 they give me literally a half a brownie... It was probably 1" x 3". I said no thank you and got my money back I suggest going elsewhere and less you enjoy getting ripped off

Yelp
The food is mediocre at best. While the decor is fine, the owner is unbelievably rude-which completely ruins the experience. There are a ton of other cafes in the area that are much better options.

Yelp
The staff is really responding to negative Yelp reviews by being extremely polite and helpful. The food was actually delicious and the atmosphere was nice for a mid-morning breakfast. I eat breakfast in DUMBO/ BK Heights 4/5 days of the week and was pleasantly surprised to find Archway to be a nice change from BK Roasting and the like. Give it a shot and be vocal with your feedback- they'll appreciate it! The only thing I didn't like was the high cost for breakfast dishes. They were innovative twists, but still had basic ingredients nonetheless. Knock the prices down by $2 and you'll gain a regular diner.

Yelp
Archway has really great coffee. One of my favorite cafes in DUMBO! My go to for soups, sandwich and salads and delivery. They deliver delicious food so fast!

Yelp
The food was alright and a bit on the pricey side. The service was extremely friendly and we didn't have any problems. The cafe is clean and bright, perfect for the sunny morning we visited on. I wouldn't go out of my way for it, but it's convenient in the location it's at and I'd stop in again for coffee and juice.
